My friend and I had the full English Breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Good quality ingredients, served hot and large portions. The service was really good and the prices are cheap! Seriously, for that quality you would expect to pay a lot more.

Well prepared food at sensible prices with a nice atmosphere and attentive staff, all meals are prepared to order so not as fast as McDonalds but they don't serve pies as good as they make at Arden. Highly recommend.

We walked past Cafe Arden & liked the look of the menu so dropped by for lunch. The cafe is really clean & spacious. It was quiet when we arrived but more people turned up during our meal. We ordered from their £7.50 menu which included a main, a hot or cold drink, & a couple of scoops of ice cream (50p extra for an extra scoop). For the main, we got cod & chips. As for the drink, we got a decaf coffee. We also ordered a beef stew, & an extra scoop of ice cream. Everything came up to £13.95. It was cash only. The coffee was nice but milk was added without first checking. The food took a while to arrive but was freshly prepared & piping hot. The batter on the fish was light & crisp & the chips were freshly fried. The only thing which wasn't great were the peas which were too hard, as if they were undercooked. There was a pot on the side with sachets of sauces & for some reason there wasn't any ketchup. The beef in the stew was really tender but there were more potatoes & carrots than meat. The crusty bread on the side was warm & crisp & lovely when the butter melted on it. The stew was served with beetroot & pickled onions. The ice cream was a welcome end to the meal. We really liked the meals we had at Cafe Arden. We also liked that it is linked to the college which provides courses for those with learning difficulties with the view that experiences gained can help them obtain employment. Based on the quality of the food we had, the place obviously works with & supports very talented people who will do well in the hospitality sector. A visit is defo recommended!

Have been 2 cafe arden several times with my sister & great nephew. The food & service is second 2 none.Sophie is such a lovely & caring person, Derek the chef is exceptional. My favourite server is Jamie he is so pleasant & nothing is 2 much trouble for him, the world would be a much better place if there was more Jamie's about. All the servers are a credit 2 you.

Treated myself to breakfast at this cafe. Great service, lovely food. Full English brekkie, quality ingredients, and a bonus point for fresh tomato on the plate, not those tinned ones you find in a lot of places. Not only is it a great meal, it assists youngsters with learning difficulties to get into a career in the hospitality industry. Top marks all round.

We arrived in Southport at midday on Monday 28th. We needed to eat and we found The Arden Café by chance. We saw that it is run by students from Arden College. We ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. The chips were gorgeous, the fish wasn't too heavily battered, a problem these days, and the peas were fine. The service was very courteous and friendly. Please use this café. It's lovely.

Popped into the cafe for breakfast. It was nice and warm inside and we got the warmest of welcomes from Sophie who took our order. The food arrived quickly and was delicious and obviously all freshly cooked. We were able to substitute a few things off the menu with no problem. Very well priced. Would recommend.

Called in by chance for a light snack at lunchtime and found out it was run by Southport College for training purposes. No frills about the menu but good quality fresh food in a clean friendly establishment and at prices that represent excellent value. Will call again next time we visit Southport.

Cafe Arden is run by Southport college to train young people with learning difficulties to work in the catering trade. It's a lovely caff the food is top notch and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Friends have told me service can be a little bit slow occasionally but this is a training place and no one is perfect when they first start. Personally I find the service perfect. Try the English breakfast the bacon particularly is top notch. The coffee is good and strong as well none of the coloured water with hot milk you get in some well known chains.

I love my weekly visits to Cafe Arden - Sarah is a lovely, friendly member of staff ready to greet customers and Derek is a wonderful chef who cooks everything from fresh; his speciality is definitely his all day breakfast! The students are trained well to deliver excellent customer service and practise their superb baking skills, too. Very reasonably priced, clean and friendly!

My wife and I have just been to Arden Cafe for the first time. We found it to be clean, warm and welcoming. The service was friendly and attentive and our breakfasts were tasty. Great value, we will definitley be back. One negative point is that we walked past initially as it's a bit anonymous from the outside.

The tax for this place is outrageous. Don’t bother going, don’t get me wrong the coffee is lovely but definitely not worth the price they charge… you can get as nice coffee from anywhere else for less. The prices are absolutely ridiculous and the back of the cafe is very crowded and your to close to the people next to you

Food generally good but massively let down by the wine, Ive tried all three reds on offer and wont try any of them again , very poor quality and Sainsburys is just around the corner, for god sake make an effort . Coffee pretty poor also, but as i said the food is good and good value. Steak great and short ribs great the fish is good but the is wine nasty.. Atmospheric and nice staff a good local haunt let down by the awful wine.. visit and have steak ,fish or ribs , get a beer or soft drink and you wont be let down. Avoid the wine.. Hello again and thanks for your kind response , i know the problems with commercial wine suppliers and its a challenge. Your probably better popping around to Sainsburys every week and buying wines that you have tried before and like. And avoiding a cold cellar with the reds is a good idea, they will be fine unopened for months kept in the bar area, and at a better temperature when people buy them. I have always enjoyed the food and the steak and pepper sauce i had a few weeks ago was the best thing I have eaten in Crosby all year, The sauce was really fantastic, you could tell it was exactly what it should be. The staff are great , food great. The coffee thing is down to my preference i suppose , I love a dark roast Italian and I am not really a fan of modern fruity coffee that seems to be all the rage at the moment. So I love what your doing and will return, my comments were made with the best possible intentions and I am please Crosby has another good place to eat.. You seem to be doing very well , busy and a good atmosphere... A credit to the area (Next time can i pay corkage and bring my own) Ive revisited and i love what they are doing , the food is the best around, great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Amazing food. Everything was presented and tasted lovely. Nice relaxed atmosphere and service was not rushed at all. Portions are large so don't order too much. We would definitely return.
