Archie's - Birmingham in Birmingham

Never heard of this place before. Service fine. But the food. My god the food. As soon as it's handed to you, you might smell a weird sort of almost dirty oil smell. Whatever it is, you know it's not good. My burger was supposed to have a maple syrup taste. It tasted like cardboard surrounding a very average smashed patty. The loaded fries were supposed to have some sort of beef on it, but instead it seemed like someone had scraped the bits off a fried chicken drumstick onto the chips. Overall incredibly disappointed in the food, I'll be impressed if this place is open in two years time.

I was served by the most amazing server she was so sweet and quick with my food and ensured to make sure I was good the whole time. Big thanks to blessing for the help

Came in today around 4pm for the first time with my wife and there was as a lovely young lady working. Didn’t catch her name but very smiley and the food was lovely. Will be coming again

Absolutely clueless staff,. For such a busy shop and only two staff working is a joke. Waited 45 minutes just for a burger and fries. Will never be going again! Also l, very expensive for average food!

Waiting 40 minutes for one burger meal is unacceptable and ridiculous. The woman at the front was preparing smaller orders (fries) that walked in 30 mins after us before others in the queue, her excuse was they’re only chips?! First come first serve? Giving us a large milkshake only because we waited for ages doesn’t bring time back. Is she giving large milkshakes to everyone then, as others waited 30 mins too. Staff need further training. Also the food is nothing special you’re just paying for the name don’t waste your money!

Absolutely delicious burgers, juicy and perfectly cooked. The staff were helpful especially the warm, attentive service from Fatimah, she was very concerning and made the experience even better.

ordered through uber eats so no comment about the service and atmosphere but the food just didn't taste good at all. i got the superstar beef smash burger and the cheesy tots. the burger had the sweetest bun ever so it wasn't enjoyable at all and the patties were also sweet but tasted like pepper at the same time. all i could taste from the cheesy tots was onion and i'm just so disappointed.

Crap food. It’s just the name of the shop and packaging you’re paying for.

Archie's is a fantastic spot for American-style fast food, conveniently located in the heart of Birmingham. … But: Archie’s used to be a regular spot for us, visiting a few times a month, but it’s heartbreaking to see how it’s fallen apart. What was once a vibrant, stylish place now feels dusty, neglected, and sad. 1. Service: Waiting 35 minutes for two burgers (from payment to delivery) is unacceptable, especially with only a few people ahead of us. You could enjoy a proper dinner at a real restaurant in that time. The staff served us without a hint of friendliness. 2. Hygiene: Dust coats everything, seemingly untouched for weeks. Broken infrastructure, no soap or toilet paper in the restroom, and scattered rubbish with empty cups make it feel unclean and unwelcoming. 3. Food: My burger bun was soggy, likely sitting too long before being served. The salad was far from fresh, which was disappointing. I don’t see myself returning anytime soon. Such a shame to see a place we once enjoyed decline like this.

Place was empty, server was mute, waited 30 minutes for my burger with fries. The burger was decent, but nothing mindblowing. Go to literally any place in the area instead if you want FAST food though. KFC can serve me in less than 10 mins with triple the amount of food. McDonalds? 5 mins tops. Maybe you need better staff, if I could get a single burger with some fries in 10 mins at this place I would be happy, I would give 4 stars (fries were soggy though, somehow) but this wasn't worth it. I genuinely felt like the staff didn't care. I was here on my lunch break if that matters, maybe they have better staff later in the day.

It’s definitely not fast and it’s not cheap and the place needs a wipe down. The staff look so uncomfortable just a bad experience

Ordered two bacon, egg and cheese muffins. They were absolutely delicious. The muffins had a crispy texture and plenty of filling. The two young men were extremely respectful and helpful which isn't particularly common in fast food places. Thank you both for your excellent service!

Has Archie's delivered whilst staying, in Birmingham only for it too arrive with the fries, and burgers to have Bueno/biscoff shake all over them. The fries were inedible. Maybe choose a delivery service not on push bike

The smash burger is sweet and the price is reasonable

I’m not really a burger person but for some strange reason had a random craving for one. So after some research decided to try Archie’s. I opted for the Sweet Alabama burger which has two patties, maple syrup glazed Turkey rashers, cheese and some type of special sauce. It was overall quite tender and flavorful. The beef patties had a tiny bit of gristle in them but this seems to be a universal issue with smash burgers. Final verdict: apart from this place not being cheap, I doubt burger fans will have much to complain about here.

Aside from the screw face lady at counter. The burger was delicious. A little pricy but worth it.

Deesha was polite and also recommended the Siracha sauce which was lovely. Fast service and the food was lovely as per usual.

Was in Birmingham looking for a place to have a quick lunch and came across Archie's. Great surprise, with a great selection of menu items. I ordered one of their special burgers 🍔, which I really enjoyed. Tasty, juicy and well cooked. Same price range as McDonald's, however much more bang for your buck with the quality of their burgers. Highly recommended if passing by looking for a filling bite to eat.

Lovely place great food went for the deluxe chicken burger and beef burger and tater tots was great cooked perfect the lotus biscoff milkshake was 10/10 probably one off the best we have had absolutely Lush just the price off stuff is abit expensive I can’t lie and you have to pay for sauces just the atmosphere was dead 💀 better off taking the food with You apart from that amazing experience.

Deesha was really friendly and kind server. When we asked about options and recommendations she was polite and friendly. The food was nice and hot. And we isn't have to wait long. I preferred the chicken over the beef burger.

Visited around 11pm after a concert at O2, the staff were amazing, friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The burgers were the best we've ever had, and the topped fries fab! We had a snowflake waffle to takeaway back to our hotel, and they even gave us cutlery as we wouldn't of had that in our room, wow the waffle was absolutely delicious and the whipped ice-cream so tasty! The music was great inside and just the right volume too! Would definitely recommend a visit, we will absolutely be returning on our next visit to Birmingham!

Had a bad stomach for past 2 days after eating here, same with my 3 mates who ate here, the food did taste alright not as good as the manchester branches, the tables were very dirty not a single clean table available, the toilets was very discusting, there seems to be a lack of cleaning in this place, after getting bad stomach after eating here i wouldn't be surprised if the kitchen is dirty too, sort it out before you end up killing someone, the staff were friendly but yeah hire someone cleaning full time, and check your kitchen health is good as 4 healthy adults males shouldnt fall ill after eating some burgers here

Quiet, chilled atmosphere. Friendly staff. Such average food, in fact a total rip off. The shakes are nothing special, the peri curly fries is basically salt, the wings weren't very good and my Route 66 burger was just so underwhelming. The Chicken Deluxe was actually great though so definitely order that. But again, this place is a rip off and mediocre.

Food is mid. Sometimes the beef burgers are a bit greasy. I prefer having it at the restaurant than a delivery as it always arrives SO COLD.

We recently opted for burgers and fries at Archie's in Birmingham, and the experience was profoundly disappointing. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was uninviting, with garish decor that did little to create a comfortable dining environment. The service was abysmal; despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, we waited nearly 45 minutes for a simple order of three burgers and fries. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and unappetising, suggesting it had been sitting out before being served. The burgers lacked flavor and were poorly assembled, while the fries were soggy and under-seasoned. Given the premium pricing, I expected a much higher quality meal. We would have been better off going to McDonald's or Timi Hortons around the corner. Overall, the combination of dreadful service, subpar food, and an unpleasant atmosphere made for an experience I would not wish to repeat. I cannot recommend Archie's to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining outing in Birmingham. So, I suggest you give it a wide berth. If you're keen on a American style burger, try Fat Burger on the high street.
