Live locally and use this fish and chip shop regularly. Never had a bad meal. Lovely friendly people and good food. Steak and ale pie is great.

Fantastic, traditional fish and chip shop, always pop in when in Woodhall Spa. Great value for money and lovely tasty food, the staff are always so friendly and couldn’t be any more helpful. Looking forward to my next visit already

Been a regular for many years but after my visit tonight I will not be returning. I was rudely asked by an older member of staff “how many weeks do you have left”, after I said I haven’t it must just be my dress she laughed and said “no really how long do you have left”. 3 other girls stood behind the counter looking and no one said anything or apologised. Very disrespectful and rude. Left me feeling really rubbish about myself.

Impromptu visit to chip shop while we were in town. The chips were cooked to order so we had a short wait. The chips were worth the wait. Large portions - even for a small serving. They were tasty and piping hot.

We are regulars here and have never had bad food or service. Quite the opposite, the fish and the chips last night were excellent.

Expensive and disgusting food. The fish was mostly batter and tasted watery and greasy. The pie was days old and the top was dry and crispy. The bread bun was one of the cheap ones from co op and the way it was presented was very poor.

Another good visit to Archers..such a good range of fresh Fish And Chips and other products with great friendly service.

Fish was cooked fresh, chips and mushy peas and gravy were all nice. The staff were also really friendly! Would go here again.

Collection only Twice now asked for cod and twice now we ended up with haddock. Cod does not have skin on it as it is filleted at the docks and packed in ice. Cod is a much whiter fish too. Most of the portion was batter which made it a high price to pay for batter. Not really impressed at all.

Didn't fancy cooking so decided to try the local chip shop again after a previous AVG experience. Wife had mini fish, chips, peas and I had steak and kidney pies chips and gravy. The wife threw her fish in the bin as it was dry and looked like it had been left over from lunchtime. My Pie was horrendous dry pastry and shocking looking filling with no steak or kidney. This is the second time they have failed to serve us quality food. Will never use again P.S The chips were quite nice

Having eaten many fish and chip takeways over the years I can genuinely report that I enjoyed the best meal at Archers!

The staff are always friendly, the service as prompt as can be and the fish fillets are a good size as well as the portions of chips. If your looking for a takeaway in Woodhall, look no further.

Really well cooked cod and chips , Fish cooked fresh and didn’t have to wait long . Friendly staff and great portions 4 or 5 ladies working behind the counter doing a great job keep up the good work

We recently moved to Woodhall Spa and we cant say enough good things about the fish and chips. Always crispy and really tasty. Good, efficient service. We really enjoy it. I think my partner might turn into chips, scrumps and gravy if she eats much more! Keep up the great food.

If you think this place serves good fish and chips you need your taste buds examining. Lived here 20 years and the standard has always been the same each time we’ve tried it - greasy, cold, and soggy chips, and thin tasteless fish with the skin left on. The chips are even smaller than crisps and everything is overpriced. The smell from the food is revolting too! This is the only place we’ve ever had wet chips from since there’s so much oil used (which is seemingly never changed either!). Save your hard earned money and go to Harbour Lights in Mareham le Fen!

Visited at lunchtime (around 1pm) and the chips were clearly not freshly made. Tasted like the frying oil desperately needed changing. Very expensive considering the food was basically inedible. Disappointed.

I came away with my family for a 5 day break. As we all fancied a take out, we decided on taking a visit to Archers. When we got back to our log cabin we realised they missed a mini fish - however still charged us £3 for the fish and spending £40 in total. I phoned and made them aware of this and asked if we could come and get it the following day. They agreed. But after having fish and chips the night before we didn’t fancy it again so asked if we could have 2 portions of chips instead - they then said we owed them 60p. Considering we had to take time out of our day to go back and then travel - they couldn’t even spare us 60p. Poor service. Disgusting. I would advise to stay away and go else where. The fish and chips were very dry.

Lovely chippy, great price I had medium fish and chips, and my hubby had pie and chips. The portion size was good, a proper piece of fish. Value fir money, about the only place in woodhall Spa, thats good value. Alot of the places to eat around are quite expensive, so I was very glad to find this. Seen it before when I've been to Woodhall Spa but the owners was on hoilday. Really good fish, ate it outside on a beach as a lovely hot day.

Staying on a nearby camp site we visited here for fish and chips to take back to the motorhome. It was quite busy but they cooked your fish to order and certainly no complaints about the quality or indeed the quantity, nice size fish and plenty of chips! I can understand why the locals recommended it to us.

Excellent fish and chips with very large portions. We had 1 portion of chips between the two of us but still had plenty left over. The large cod is particularly good. The curry sauce was very nice having a slight spice kick to it compared to the usual offer from chip shops.

Staying in the village for a family holiday visited here at the start of the week and had the most amazing fish chips and curry sauce I’ve ever tasted! So good we returned the following night and once again it didn’t disappoint! We had been recommended this place by friends and weren’t let down. Terrible Food, Surly Staff and painfully slow service! We stopped off here on the way home as the kids were hungry. The place is cash only so after we’d gone to the cash point, we returned to a queue of 3 people.... it then took us 30 mins to actually get served. (The people in front of us weee not buying masses either). Really disappointing as the chips were undercooked and incredibly greasy. Not sure if there’s another chippy in Woodhall but next time we won’t be bothering with this one.

Best fish and chips for miles around. Helpful friendly staff. Opens Tuesday through to Saturday lunch and evenings. You wont regret diving this little shop a visit. Lots of other items on the menu. Even a children's menu. Hot and cold drinks also available. Fresh wet fish also sold.

Had a takeaway of fish and chips from here while on holiday. Really nice-you could tell the fish and the fat were fresh. Perfect!

I visit the village fairly regularly and this is always a big draw for the whole family, we pass several fish and chip shops along the way but not one compares to this! Great friendly service, short waiting time and delicious food every time. We will be back soon

Ordinarily we would be happy to accept that a fish and chip dinner isn't going to be high on the list of best eats. Sadly this place appears to be a victim of its own success with high reviews giving way to high expectations akin to a trip to Whitby bay. It just wasn't the case, and with so many other good options in the village, this won't be one of our future choices

This little gem of a chippy is a must visit if you're in Woodhall Spa. Tasty, fresh food, proper delicious chips and all at a great price. It's always busy and popular but service is fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

I've been here a couple of times now and I have to say the food fluctuates wildly. I think they're leaving their oil changes too long as the fishcame out dripping with oil and really dark brown. The chips were just floppy. Will probably give it another go. Maybe at the start oif the week this time

Very busy chip shop with plenty of staff to keep the queue moving. We thoroughly enjoyed our fish supper which was both delicious and generously portioned for hungry campers.

We were stopping at a local camp site and decided to use the chippy to save cooking after arriving at the site and setting up. Very close to the town centre, parking could be a bit of a problem. However, that's probably the only bad thing. The staff were wonderfully friendly, the food was reasonably priced and came in good portions. Definitely worth a try if you're in Woodhall Spa.

One of the best tasting fish chips and curry sauce suppers in existence. I know we were hungry after a long day travelling and touring but this was one of the best "chippy" experiences ever.

An absolute must when away with the caravan! This is always our first stop when we arrive on a Friday evening, ques can be long at times but always worth the wait! These truly are the best fish and chips we have ever tasted; crispy batter and delicious chips that are not at all greasy like some places can be. Even when busy the staff are efficient and friendly and always happy to have a chat. We look forward to returning again in March!

I had a medium haddock and chips, really great portions! But chips and haddock aren't crispy, they're soggy and the grease is stomach churning. It is completely overloaded with grease! Not impressed... Tasty because I was hungry, but again... Swimming with grease.

Archers make the best fish and chips we've ever had. Generous portions. We can't be the only people who thought the same as there was always a queue but they were well worth the wait. Will definitely go back.

Had a superb fish and chips supper from here. The fish was soooo fresh. Every thing hot and lovely. The medium portion was big. We were happily stuffed.If you are in and around Woodhall Spa do try it. Best I have had in years.

Stayed at Bainland park in January and we wanted Fish & Chips on our last night. So I went to find a chippy and landed on Archers Fish Shop. Well it took me back to being a kid when you're local fish & Chip shop was family owned. Lovely fish and chips cook fresh. Would recommend this little chippy to anyone who is stay in the area. 10/10.

We were camping at Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa and had fish and chips from here on our first night. They were one of the best fish and chip suppers I have ever had. I don't usually like chip shop chips but these were delicious and along with the fish which was succulent, they weren't too greasy.

We opted for the small fish and chips they were excellent and enough to fill the average person. Definitely recommend them

Friday night, queue out the door BUT despite having to wait for cod to be cooked to order it was dry, over cooked with a bitter aftertaste. The scampi was ridiculously bright pink but tasted ok. Chips fair, not too greasy and cooked properly but no real flavour which for Lincolnshire is quite ridiculous! Had forgotten we had been here before several years ago, also forgotten it was exactly the same then. Not one to repeat and don't really see why there was such a queue. Only chippy for miles?

Good honest fish and chips, always busy, served by smiling staff. Good choice to suit all, including a wet fish counter. Had takeaways several times on a weeks holiday. Well worth the queue on a Friday night.

Lovely little fish and chip shop. Not entirely sure what the gentleman below is referring to with, 'thin greasy chips', as I have never come across this before! The fish is always cooked perfectly. They offer 4 different fish sizes, up to a monster XL fish that you will not be able to fit on a large plate. They have good portion sizes and the prices are good too. They offer cold drinks, near the counter, the usual sauces but also have a fresh fish counter in the mornings. You can ask for prices or put in orders depending on what is being caught. The family are lovely and all very polite! It's my local and I would say I go on average once a month.

tried a fish and chip lunch while staying in woodhall.The chips were awful thin greasy things and the fish was tasteless in a soggy yellow coloured batter.Batter should be brown and very crispy, chips should be nice and chunky and fluffy on the inside.I have to say I left most of mine.Will not be going again, the fish and chips to take out from village limits are far superior

We always have excellent fish and chips from Archers when we visit Woodhall Spa, the staff are friendly and the food is always fresh and portions are very generous.

Family visited last weekend and on the first night we decided on a takeaway. We phoned to place the order and when we called to collect all ready for us on the hot display. The fish and chips were fine but the portion of chips was much too big and another time it will be chips between 2 as I am sure I left more chips than I ate.

With not a Kebab in sight Reg Archers remains as one of a dying breed. This traditional British fish and chip shop oozes tradition and presents high quality food. Friendly staff and pictures of classic British bikes on the wall give a hint of the 1960's. Excellent, five stars.

We enjoyed fish and chips three times and one sausage without batter one mushy peas we all commented how delicious they all were well worth a visit .

Staying at Bainland Lodges, We had a Fish and Chips dinner and we were not disappointed. Didn't have to wait too long and the chips were absolutely gorgeous - crispy on the outside and dead soft and fluffy inside.
