Arch 13 at Connollys in Birmingham

Staff: super friendly and informative, which is especially handy as I don't have a clue when it comes to wine! Atmosphere: chilled, not too noisy or busy, great music choice. Food: we had the 5 wines and 5 cheese pairing and wow, absolutely amazing tasting experience. Truly never thought wine could taste like that - whoever chose these clearly knows what they're doing! I'm not a big wine drinking at all but would recommend this to anyone looking for a true culinary experience that isn't just a "meal".

Honestly I don't understand why this place is so highly rated..? The staff were friendly and the shop was cool, but it doesn't feel like a bar, it's more like a cafe and a shop? Booked this place for my birthday and was very disappointed with the vibe, plus it smelt quite gross?... we had one drink and left. Really disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was excellent and the service was superb. We didn’t opt for the wine but they had a great selection and I’d really recommend their cherry beer. The cheese and meat we had were amazing and the cods roe was to die for! Will definitely be back!

Has been my favourite go to in Birmingham for the last three years. I have loved a bottle of wine and a cheeseboard at the weekend! The service and staff were brilliant as always, but why have you got rid of the cheese boards where you got to mix and match :(. The old boards that came with bread and chutney were amazing. If I hadn't been before and I came tonight, I couldn't justify the cost for what we were served. Pleaseeeeee go back to the old cheeseboard 5/7/10 selection!

Was it great no,was it OK yes. It's quirky and different but is it compelling enough to go back maybe but I'm not rushing.

Popped in to try a wine and cheese flight. Wasn't disappointed! Recommend booking though as seats were at a premium.

Chill place ideal for wine lovers. The staff is nice, they have a large range of wines and other drinks. I would recommend it as a nice after work unwind.

As a parent of young children their social calendar is now far better than mine! However on Saturday night I organised a wine tasting at Arch 13 for my husbands birthday with 4 couples. We had the most amazing evening and it was everything I hoped it would be. We had a mix in the group - 2 who think they know everything about wine - 4 who know a bit but drink a lot and 2 who don’t drink wine at all (apart from Prosecco). I cannot recommend the evening enough - we had so much fun and were quite a lively bunch by the end of the evening. There was just the right balance of eduction and fun. Thank you so much for a brilliant evening. If you are looking for something special and unique Arch 13 is definitely the place to go.

Charming wine bar with great atmosphere, interesting and varied menu with local and worldwide fine produce, very good service, food and drink. Hungarian Riesling was very tasty. Food value too.

My wife and I visited Arch 13 on a Tuesday evening after work. It was quiet when we arrived, with only one other couple in there, but it soon started to get busy as more post-work couples and groups came in. The wine selection is good, there isn't an intimidating brochure, instead the selection has a wine for any taste, we settled on a lovely wine from Alsace. For those that want to go off-menu, there is the option of buying a bottle from the in-house wine merchant and paying corkage to drink on site. We opted for the 7 item cheese and meat board comprising Baron Bigod, Tunworth, Lincolnshire Poacher and Rollright cheeses, with bresaola, Hampshire ham and fennel salami meats. We also opted for pickles and extra bread. With cheese and charcuterie this good there is no need to mess with them, simply serve them and the flavours speak for themselves. Overall the experience at Arch 13 was just what we wanted of a night out without kids, relaxed atmosphere, simple but excellent quality food and excellent wines.

This place is amazing! The cheese & wine is incredible. Nathan and Ray are fantastic and always recommend the nicest combinations of cheese, meat and wine.

The cheese is amazing, the wine is great and Ray and Nathan are lovely and so accommodating. Ray’s got the coolest vibe and I think I have a crush on Nathan.

We went mid day in the middle of the week so there was only one other table occupied. My son especially enjoyed the ports range and I the gins. His partner had the wine with cheese taster in which she said complemented each other very well. It has a lovely wine and port and gin shop in the corner which sells anwide range of different drink from vintage to rather obscure lables you would not see on the high street. With the knowledge and expertise of the gentleman we bought a vintage 1991 bottle of port and a 30year botttle. Would definitely visit when I see my son again

Arch 13 are now doing a picnic box. They are 3 different types, please check out their website. They are perfect in every way. Plenty of cheese and crackers. Perfect if you’re going on a train 🚊 you can preorder then walk straight up onto the platform. Sitting at your office Or like me chilling in the sun watching the world go by.

A little oasis amongst the chaos. Beautiful wine and snacks

Had been meaning to go to Arch 13 for a while and finally did on a Friday night. It's basically wine, meat, cheese and all of it is fantastic. Lovely wine selection; we had an orange wine and an American red called Troublemaker, both delicious. Really like the way you can mix your cheese and meat and the other small plates were great too. Lovely staff clearly enjoying themselves. Also has a wine shop at the back so we bought a bottle of the Troublemaker to drink at home. Looking forward to going again!

Visited Arch 13 for a few drinks on a Saturday night. It was exactly what we were after - a nice relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and a selection of cocktails, fizz and wine to suit the differing tastes of our group.

Cold .. Couldn't relax as the heating was off.

My favourite wine bar in Birmingham. Fab selection of wines from a good range of countries, particularly happy to see German and Austrian wines feature on the menu. Cheeseboards are great value too, with a good range of English cheeses in different styles.

Second to none selection in Birmingham of wines, beers and most spirits. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Their wide selection of Carn Mor bottles is to be commended.

Fantastic venue, lovely selection of wine, beers and spirits as well as good food and brilliant service. They really looked after us for my dad's 70th birthday and it really made his day. Definitely a must for any wine lovers in Birmingham. Bravo!

Popped in to have a look. Bought a can of beer at £4.95. Asked if I could sit in to drink it and was asked for an extra £2.50. Took my can with me and drank it outside. Total rip off. First visit and last.

Quite good small restaurant, had couple of bottles of wine with a friend on a Friday night. Also has a separate wine shop. Staff are all helpful and very friendly. Would recommend

We couldn't go there, so we ordered a wonderful hamper of cheese and wine and charcuterie to enjoy for our Valentine Lunch yesterday. It was delicious - so nice to really taste food rather than jut eat it! The wines were excellent too. Highly recommended.

They managed to get us in between bookings and we still had great service with great wine, cheese and meat!

We visited as part of a mini pub crawl and we sampled the sharing platter of meats and cheeses. This is definitely somewhere I will take my wife as the food, drinks and service were all terrific.

Well what can I say about Chris and his team at Arch 13 and Olton that has not been said already. During lockdown they have helped keep me suitably refreshed with a selection of sumptuous Red wine and crisp White wines accompanied with a detailed description about each. I recently wanted to send a bottle of port to a client as that was what they love but I had no idea. One phone call to Chris, he asked questions around my client and the budget I had in mind and made his recommendation and gave me a reason for it. I got incredible feedback from my client who was extremely grateful. I could not recommend Chris and his team highly enough, their product knowledge and customer service is second to none. Harrison.

AMAZING! Just what Birmingham needed! Beautiful cheese and wine selection and all reasonable priced as you share! Despite being busy there was a slightly speedy turnaround but would recommend booking for a group more than 2.

This is my absolute favourite place in Birmingham. Friendly and super-knowledgeable team, local family-owned and great food (cheese, meats and even vegan options) to accompany the huge variety of interesting and delicious wines.

Smashing bar and wine shop with a great range of bottles from all over the world. Wines and spirits, beers and ales on offer, you can also have a cheese board to go with your drink. Relaxed and friendly with lovely staff who have superb knowledge. Not our first visit and will definitely be back again.

Great wine bar behind Snow Hill station. They have a good selection of fine wines by the glass. I recommend the RdB, Nuits St Georges, 1er Cru.

A hidden gem in Birmingham city centre! Arch 13 has an absolutely cracking wine list, with a real varied variety of wines. Very affordable and superb service. Also has a lovely range of spirits too. Would recommend this bar to anyone who is a wine drinker.

Wonderful venue that really takes the time to figure out what wine works with you. Fantastic coffee to boot!

Visited Arch 13, the service was first class a little GEM, Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

Great little wine bar tucked under the railway arches between Snow Hill and St Paul's. Plenty of choice of wines with knowledgeable, friendly staff to help you choose. There's also a range of prices, from a very reasonable £4 a glass up to well over £10 for some more niche varieties. I ordered a lovely fresh Malbec to go with a board of cheeses and meats - a perfect weeknight treat! Would recommend.

Great idea by Connollys to turn this into a bar. The atmosphere is fab and the team are lovely and attentive. Excellent selection of wine, of course, and the food matches it perfectly with even some vegan options. Definitely would recommend.

A nice atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff willing to talk and tell you about the drinks, and gave excellent service. They serve this orange wine, apparently divides people. Offered a taster because of this but we just went straight in for it. I personally liked it, dry, sharp and very unusual. More like a strong cider then a wine but I liked it a lot. Others in the group tried it and did not like it! Certainly one of those marmite reactions. They have a fun shop within the bar too, it's a fun feature. I'll be back for the experience
