Antonio's Classic Style Ice Cream in Sefton

Really dissapointed today £4.25 each for 3 ice creams total of £12.75 and got flakes i didnt ask for. No prices on display before purchase. This is the most i have ever paid. Ice cream was good but would have had to be gold for me to pay that price. Never again

Mr Whippy ice creams, 1 small tub with a flake and a small cone with a flake, really expensive at £8 for both and they should have a price list on display but the ice cream was super creamy and delicious, we visited 4 times! Nice seating outside and well used despite price. If prices were cheaper, they would get more customers and increased income.

AVOID..... THEY'RE STAMMERS £4.75 for a single scoop of ice-cream with a cone. I thought that was ridiculous, but I paid it, because, like many parents, I didn't want to let my child down. When I got home I looked at my online banking and they have taken £5 out of my account. I have taken my children there for years, but not anymore. They're thieves and we will NOT EVER purchase from that shop again!!!! Wish I'd read the reviews first.

AVOID!! VERY POOR QUALITY at VERY HIGH PRICES, I've had ice creams from here a while back and they were good, but can only think it has changed hands since then as it is the most expensive I've ever come across, charged £8.50 for 2 small ice creams, this wouldn't have been too bad if they'd been of good quality, but they tasted awful, very bland and cheap tasting, tasted nothing at all like the flavours they were supposed to be, I've had many different ice creams from your standard Mr Whippy to top quality Italian gelato, so do know what different types of ice creams there are and what they should taste like and these are truly shocking on how bad and cheap tasting they are, it's one thing charging top prices for some thing but then to sell something that without doubt has been made with cheapest and poorest quality ingredients at the same time shows what a rip off this shop is, trying to squeeze every last penny of profit from it while shamelessly fleecing their customers, it quite literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth, feel sorry for the many of poor unsuspecting visitors coming to Southport and one of their lasting memories will be this

Innocently stopped by for a Mr Whippy and a gelato-style (note: NOT genuine gelato). £9.90. Nine pounds and ninety pence for two ice creams. You'd be better off crossing the road and going to Wetherspoons, or walking up to the ice cream van at the top of Coronation Avenue (the latter being £4.00 for two ice creams. Antonio - if he exists - should be absolutely ashamed of himself.

Visited this week with family and will not be back. Charged us £4.75 for a 1 scoop tub for my daughter. Also absolutely all over the place when telling them one of us had a peanut allergy. Peanuts right in the middle of all the other ice creams so cross contamination is a dead cert. I asked the guy behind the counter if he could use a completely sanitised scoop for our daughters ice cream and he just took out a scoop from a jug full of scoops and wiped it with a filthy sponge and cloth. No doubt been used for other things. He also could not be bothered being there, he was reading his phone the entire time he served us, even when he was scooping the ice cream! No please or thank you either when asking for payment or receiving it. Shambolic

Totally agree with the other reviews. We didn't read them first and were charged £7.50 when we asked for two small cones. One of them hardly had any taste. Give this place a miss. For better value and better ice cream go to Rossi's on the left of the road from Lord Street to the pier. The day before we'd paid £1.50 each for a small cone and tasty ice cream with plenty of choice.

Bought two double scoop ice creams and was charged £9.50! The place really needs to have their prices displayed. I feel very silly that I managed to fall for this tourist trap. There was a huge range of interesting ice cream flavours but honestly with the price being so high I cannot say that I will be a repeat customer.

The words that spring to mind after my visit here are, in no discernible order.. Rude, Rip off, Awful, Surly and Where's the bin? I just asked for a small cone, only to be presented with a cone and flake and to be charged £5. I said I didn't want the flake which was then ripped and and chucked to one side for the next customer (victim?) And still charged £5!! I small cone and a small scoop of ice cream that was actually so awful I chucked it in the nearest bin despite the price. Lesson learnt I guess. I know #southport is experiencing some tough times but with vendors like this it's truly an up hill struggle.

After a lovely day in Southport, we wanted to top the day off with a delicious Mister Whippy ice cream. We'd seen lots of ice cream shops throughout the day advertising cones for £1. We came across Antonio's and thought it'd probably be similar prices or not much more. How wrong we were! We had 2 regular ice creams with chocolate cones and 1 small one with a regular cone and were charged £12.75!! Outrageous! There are no ice cream prices shown anywhere so they must just make them up on the spot. The ice cream was really good at least but we could have had the same for a fraction of the price just a short walk away. I hope some people see these reviews before they get ripped off. Shame on you Antonio's.

Was charged £8.50 for two cornets, no prices displayed but thought they must be in line with other outlets so I was very shocked and would have refused them except I had started to eat mine. I believe it is law that prices or menus should be displayed, so why after these negative reviews are the council and trading standards not doing anything, this is not a good thing for Southport. Would give zero stars if that was possible. Hope they get what they deserve for ripping people off

ASK THE PRICE FIRST, BUYER BEWARE! You need to win the jackpot on the Euromillions lottery to pay for the extortionate ice cream here and consider it not overpriced. I went up to to Southport over the weekend, my young nephew & niece wanted an ice cream and I had promised them a small one each, I told them they could have 1scoop in a cone, the man in the shop asked would they like 3 small scoops instead, no problem all comes to the same? (Apparently not!) then the obligatory sprinkles, nuts & syrup, to which he shoves a flake in each after saying "Flake" and not waiting for reply then handed them over to the outstretched arms of the 5 & 7 year old kids, their mouths were upon them before his delayed words of £9-00 please! I said NO WAY, he proceeded to explain loudly about.. chocolate dipped cone 3 flavours regardless of size and the extras. Lesson learned, as in all contracts, offer of goods for price and agreement to purchase, never again. Filming required as to practices going on and Facebook upload. Next day we went to Rossies the road up to the Carrossel, fraction of the price.

I would not even give this place a one start if I could . they con the general public everyday. people are shocked at the price of a small childs ice cream at £3.75. and I mean small. perhaps it was my fault for not asking the price first .but hope they go out of business . and the ones up Neville street on the left, (Rossi"s). who sell the same different flavoured ice creams for a £1 with a cone , and happy to put a bit of flavoured sauce on and suger bits with no extra charge , prosper and get the business that they deserve.

On are way home My sister wanted a chocolate ice cream and they have toys and balls hanging all round the outside ,she wanted a multi coloured big plastic ball I got a bottle of water £13.50 ,so I asked how much the ball was £7.50! For a plastic ball don’t know how much the ice cream was or the water but as we walked to train station there was more stalls with the same ball for £2.00 and ice creams for £1.50 so it’s worth just walking around the corner to save getting ripped off! I wouldn’t go there again

visited and bought 2 tubs of the middle size ice cream and 2 packets of 'soft' rock, the soft rock is normally around £2.00 a pack.. All together it was £15.50 making the mid size tub, with 2 scoops of ice cream £5.75 each!! The had the gall to have a plate with money on looking like tips!! Total rip off, keep away and avoid.. further up you can get Mr Whippy ice cream for £1.

Sorry but your vanilla ice cream tasted like mint the colour & texture was awful ... i returned but wasnt offered a refund i told the young man to put it in the bin.. please don't waste your money ! Just lost 3.75p 😕

Terrible poor quality ice cream at horrendously expensive prices. staff are trained to rip people off,ask for one get something else. Worst ice cream I've ever not eaten, tasted it,threw in bin, glad as it tasted like it would make you Ill. No gloves on...

Walk on by once you have looked at all the flavours and dont stop. Don't be tricked by the victims sat outside at the tables. They can't save themselves but it's not too late to save your wallets and purses. £3.75 for a small cone...
