Antica Roma in Rochford

I’ve been to Antica Roma a number of times and always enjoy it. Good food and friendly Italians make this an easy place to recommend.

Food good Little expensive but now the norm everywhere in uk. Don't think many restaurants will be about much longer when wage bills are so high. And other running costs. Time will tell. Some people will still pay.

We had a lovely meal last Friday. The food was delicious, as always. Thank you to Bresha who always makes it extra special. From giving great food suggestions to her infectious smile, she always makes sure you get top class service.

Delicious delicious delicious. We booked as we were visiting on a Saturday night and it was a good job we did. It was very busy which in turn gave it a fantastic atmosphere and it most certainly didnt affect the service. Great friendly staff and fantastic service, clearly very good at what they do. Comfy chairs and lovely decor. We had Antica Roma pizza (parma ham/rocket/parmesan) and liver with butter/sage sauce. Both dishes absoltely wonderful. Couldnt rate this place highly enough. I would def visit again, but shame we live so far away and was just visiting.

I came to eat at ANTICA ROMA on Sunday the 3rd of December with my family,it was my dad’s birthday! And there was 11 of us,we also had young kids with us as well,and I just wanted to say that the staff at Antica Roma are so Amazing and they looked after us so well!! The food is delicious and so are the desserts! Thank you ANTICA ROMA for a lovely meal !

Evening out with friends, first time I've visited but not for our friends. Extensive menu and a good selection of wines to choose from. Staff were welcoming and attentive. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Such a friendly attentive team who make us welcome from the moment you arrive at the door . The food is fresh and delivered to the table hot and tasty. There are very few lovely places like this locally and was so worth the visit .. will certainly be the place to bring friends and business colleagues . Service was impeccable !

Food was great and at the table in decent time. Our waitress was super friendly and had a great sense of humour and kept us happy all evening. The filleto diane was delicious. We'll happily eat there again.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Our food was faultless and most of us had the specials. Freshly made pasta, tasty monkfish and great steaks! One downside.... strange to be approached about tipping before we even got our mains and a discrepancy with the bill after we paid!! That did leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth on an otherwise superb evening.

It's an authentic Italian restaurant so wasn't expecting standard 'chain' food, but it was awful. Pretty tasteless, pizza was soggy. Can't fault the service or atmosphere but when the food isn't great that doesn't really help.

Not entirely sure why this place is so popular. Aggressive staff, painfully slow service, and the food was terrible. Undercooked, soggy pizza (that we had to send back), tasteless veg, and the desserts were all from those microwaveable pots that you can get in the supermarket - and even then they were over cooked and chewy!!

A lovely lunch; delicious food and plenty of gluten free options. Personable and friendly service. We had a bottle of wine between three of us hence the higher per head price.

Been here numerous times! Went recently with a table of 5. The food was absolutely incredible! So tasty and full of flavour. The timings of the food arriving were also spot on. Staff can't do enough for. Very welcoming from start to finish! The waitress is a credit to the restaurant and amazingly good at her job. Thank you!

We went to Antica Roma last night for the first time and we were very impressed. The service was warm and friendly from this family run restaurant. The food was delicious, best prawns, steak, pasta and tiramasu we've ever had! Prices are very good too. Thank you to all the staff for making our night by being so lovely.

Visited Antica Roma with my husband for a charity fundraising event. Nice place and the staff were lovely, but I’m sorry to say that we weren’t impressed with the food. There was lots of it, but not very tasty. It was all over cooked and quite dry. There were 50 of us, but we had all chosen our starter and main course in advance, from a very limited menu, so no excuse for not being cooked properly. Wouldn’t go there again.

Lovely authentic restaurant, took my mum and 2 kids and everyone loved it, would definitely come again. Pizza and profiteroles are my personal suggestion as they were both amazing!!

Friendly service and good food. Very large portions! Luckily they provided a pizza box so our son could take the rest of his pizza home.

Good atmosphere, quite expensive, felt I have cooked better food at home, ordered vegetables to accompany the main course and disappointed that the coliflower cheese arrived after we had nearly finished the meal ,the saulty potatoes were deep fried flat crinkle cut potatoes might just as well had chips. So not a good experience.

We come to Antica Roma as often as we can. We have tried most dishes on the menu between us and can honestly say we have never been disappointed with anything. My daughter a huge pasta lover, my sister a vegetarian & my partner who loves his steak (there's is Amazing btw) have always been more than happy with our meal. I usually try something from the specials board which is always changing & usually has some fresh fish or speciality pasta. The staff are so wonderful & attentive and will adapt the dishes to suit your taste. We have been for Sunday roast too (which was as equally delicious), valentines & Christmas time, we eat out quite a lot but always return to Antica Roma as it never disappoints. They can get busy at weekends so try to book if you can but we have called up last minute on occasions and been squeezed in. They do offer take out on Pizza & Pasta if your craving authentic Italian but want to stay home in your PJs, we have done this a few times :) Give it a try you will be glad you did!

Twenty of us celebrated my son’s 50th here. Reasonably priced, delicious authentic Italian food, terrific service, and they happily catered for those of us with food allergies. Will definitely be visiting again!

Having had two disappointing previous visits to this restaurant, several years ago, we decided to give it another go and we are happy to say that it is much, much improved and we had a very pleasant evening The quality of the food was good and the service even better, which made for a very nice time, the only downside was the music, with the right tunes, in keeping with the Italian atmosphere, the already good ambience would be very much improved.

Food was just ok but over priced for the quality. Staff were a little abrasive and unpleasant.

Got to be one of the best restaurants in Essex, not just Italian restaurant. It is personal, friendly, welcoming, with superb service and the most delicious food you’ll find anywhere. It has a lovely If you’re ever thinking of going to a Zizi, Ask or Prezzo, just drive an extra whatever and come here, you’ll never go anywhere else again. Genuinely outstanding.

My first visit to Antica Roma and I can only say, why have I never been before?!?!? From the moment we walked in, we were met with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely fantastic, great value for money and huge portions. No need...

I ordered a garlic bread and Risotto with Asparagus and Mushrooms after being disappointed with the pizza twice. Unfortunately the only decent thing was the g-bread, but what can you ruin with garlic bread, right? The risotto was not good at all, the mushrooms were a gooey mass with no taste, the sauce appeared to be a tasteless white sauce (ready mix? certainly hasn't seen many mushrooms or seasoning while cooking). Worst thing is, that even with the low quality, it is still the most edible pizza around ... have to stick to making it myself.

Oh dear - an Italian restaurant clinging onto the 1980s but charging 2020 prices. Dreary decor, some good service but some poor service, unimaginative and poorly presented food. Varied menu - maybe too varied, and the kitchen is spreading themselves too thinly. A nightmare for Gordon, if he needs another one...
