I know we all have choices with where we get our food these day, and with online ordering its never been easier. However once you find a good Indian Cuisine restaurant it become like a trusted friend. For me that’s here, in Anokha. Great Manager and team, nice guys, always friendly and helpful, ask for their advise on food options, allergies etc…, Great tasting dishes and very reasonably priced. Still reading this review? why? Deliciosa comida de Bangladesh. Piping caliente, auténtica comida , la mantequilla pollo, cordero birani , chana masala, ajo naan pan & curry vegetal que acompaña al cordero birani eran muy deliciosos y volverá de nuevo. Pedimos esperar un poco y nos trataron muy bien. La comida era de gran calidad, muy delicioso y servido inmediatamente. Reservamos nuestra mesa sin problemas y llegamos un poco tarde ya que el aparcamiento era un poco de un problema, pero valió la pena la espera. No fue un problema. Los precios eran asequibles y muy recomendable por mi hija que dijo mamá ‘vale la pena la espera’! Y ella estaba al 100%. Gracias por volver de nuevo 😋

Este lugar es discreto. Puedes tomar tus bebidas. Los baños están ultra limpios y el pollo con mantequilla junto con su abuela de ajo son para morirse. Lo siento pero ya había empezado a comer antes de acordarme de hacer algunas fotos. Conoces gente muy interesante ahí.

Absolutely amazing! The food, the service, the place, everything! The manager (Khayzan) knows every little thing about running this business and you would feel that once you go there. The food was customised exactly to my taste (The Indian Spice level, if you know what I mean) and I felt like eating at home. Their service is very good and fast, clean and hygienic place with comfortable seating. I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you're in Acton. If you want the Indian level of spice just tell them to make it with "Mirchi" and then you see the magic!

It was ok, just ok. Nothing to shout about. Best I can say it was reasonably priced. I'll leave it at that.

I walked into the restaurant and the two gentlemen stared at me like I was gonna rob the place. Against my better judgment, I proceeded to request a table. At first, the server made me feel like I was intruding, anyway, I knew what I liked and quickly glanced over the menu and ordered the chili chicken and some brinjal dish. I went to town on my meal, using my hands and not stopping for a sip of water. I guess that gave me some cred and the server lost his standoffish attitude and checked up on me periodically. Anyway, both dishes were ok. Someone wrote that he felt his takeout was someone’s leftovers and I can’t be 100% certain mine was not. I did have some issues with the toilet after the meal but it could’ve been the spice and I lean towards loose stools at baseline so whatever…fwiw. Meal was ridiculously affordable cause those two dishes and a naan came out to just under £20.

Delicious, fresh and beautifully presented food. The curries were authentic, light and full of flavour. Service was fantastic and the prices were extremely reasonable. Can’t recommend highly enough for a tasty Indian meal!

Fab local Indian! I love the peshwari naan.

Not sure how to start this review, but can only feel that I've been served an others customers leftovers as a takeaway, im a regular and if this what the takeaway service is,(chicken jafrezil) I won't be coming back.

Delicious food, well priced and exceeded our expectations. Even better than last time and will order again. Ordered all veggie dishes, good selection.

Awful food and service! We picked this place due to ok ratings but food was honestly the worst Indian we’ve ever had (and that’s coming from someone who lives in India who has tried all sorts of foods). Chicken Tikka smelled and tasted a little off, Butter Paneer was too sweet and had no other flavor. My friend ordered Lamb Balti and couldn’t eat it since the meat was chewy and tough. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t very friendly or approachable plus surprisingly, there were other guests hence why we didn’t bother to complain but left the place with plates full.

The food was disgusting. We ordered six items and spent £68.00, all the food had the same taste coconut and tomatoes purée. It wasn’t tasty at all. It was very bland and the paneer and onions were cut huge, no other vegetables. When I complained to the manager, he agreed that they used same sauce for the food, we had ordered. He also told me not to write any reviews , he will give back money which he didn’t. We ordered at 4.50pm and the food arrived at 5.30pm. How was it possible to cook six different dishes within 45 minutes with garlic nuns. The food was stale and were cooked before and added to the disgusting sauce and brought to us. It was a horrible experience. We will not recommend anyone to try their food. Sorry and very disappointed.

We chose to try this lovely place for a date at this restaurant with my partner as it was local too us this weekend absolutely recommend 10/10 amazing food lovely staff Now I love a good Indian and have experience on a good curry and also have had many bad experiences but this one you can tell everything is fresh and hot! Weve tried the lamb curry amazing soft melt in mouth also rogan josh cannot fault it soft and crispy naan bread chicken tikka starter served on a hot sizzling plate with onion thank you 🙏 we will be back again soon

Decent food, in a shabby setting slightly spoiled by the constant coming and going of couriers. Probably best experienced as a take away.

Very confusing way to order with two phone numbers available. I gave him my full address and name, and he said 35 minutes, then I said to him dont you want me to pay? I wanted to pay by card. Received a rude attitude from the manager. The reason it was so bad was because I was told by the manager that he "would call back in 10-15 minutes" because I wanted to pay by card. But the phone line was busy with taking orders, so he was unable to do it. Wasn't able to feel comfortable to order after the whole ordeal. It was the worst experience I have ever had, and I was actually looking forward to ordering.

The restaurant staff asked for our order on 3 separate occasions if wanted to order anything else. Politely declined after ordering a couple of starters as was not hungry. The restaurant manager later on rudely spoke to that should have informed them in advance in the case did not want to have main course. Such behaviour was completely untoward. Food and ambience was average. Don’t recommend this one as there are plenty of better options available in that area.

Excellent tandoori restaurant, only a few tables so you need to book. Food is second to none.

This is our local curry house and in my humble opinion one of the best in London. It is always a treat to dine in or order takeaway from. Thank you Anokha for the excellent food. Please do give it a try!

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent value. No drink license, which is a positive because you can buy drinks from shop next door and the restaurant wil provide glasses with no charge whatsoever. Highly recommended!

Food was delicious, I had butter chicken & mushroom rice . The chicken tikka nann was divine, I'd never had if before but it was excellent, definitely recommend Food was hot & served in good time. The waiter was very polite & attentive overall a great night out. Would definitely visit again. No alcohol licence so bring your own drinks, there is a local shop too.

Ok food, has sugar in it, isn't authentic, but it tastes good enough. Rude servers. The old guy with the unkempt greasy hair needs to learn some manners and basic personal hygiene. It was a hot day but there's no excuse to smell like that when you're serving customers. Good prices.

Okay soo this place has literally AMAZING FOOD and the prices are really good. But the service is bad. We went in around 21:10 on Friday. we sat down and try to decide what to eat. We asked for a wine and in our suprise he said "We don't sell any alcohol but you can go outside and buy" To be honest that was a very strange thing to do in a restaurant but we said okay. thwre was an off license store next to it so we bought a wine. I came back at 21:30 We order our food and 10 minutes later he comes back and said we are going to close at 10:30 so you need to eat fast. we thought that was very rood to say especially when we searched the restaurant at google maps it says we are open until 23:00. Anw most ouf us finish eating around 22:10 and he rushed to take our plate even though our friend didn't finish his plate and the moment he put his fork down the waiter grabbed the plate. If you wanted to close early then you should tell your customers before entering the restaurant not after and then demanding to eat faster so they can leave.

Took it upon reviews and payed my visit to Anokha with friends. The food was exquisite and the prices were beyond reasonable. The staff on the other hand were unproffessional, rushing us to leave even though the restaurant closes at 11pm. We were having our last bite and they were just taking the plates from us, it was VERY weird !! Plus it looks like this place doesn't serve any alcoholic drinks and you should bring your own, it was so bizarre when they said to us that we should go buy from somewhere else but without giving any explanation about their policy..(please mind that there was no information regarding this on the internet. ) We were new visitors and they should atleast explain or tell upon arrival or even prior when you are calling for a booking. Never the less, the food was amazing, their service skills though should use some training because it takes away from the whole experience, and the food doesnt deserve this..

The staff are the loveliest, we are always welcomed with a smile and a ‘nice to see you again’. The food is delicious and they have so much on offer! My favourite is the vegetarian Thali - so tasty!!

This place is nice and peaceful and very understanding. I would highly recommend going here with little ones as well!

We travelled from far to have food here reading good reviews, but it was not worth the hype! The curry had huge pieces of onion, tomato, capsicum should be cut medium. Please ask for recommendations for spicy dishes. Biryani was very basic n not authentic. Naan was too thick. Place is pretty small only with 8 tables maybe so if you don’t have booking, you might be disappointed. Price is average like the food. I must say Staff is very good in hospitality. Not a place for non Indians, although locals might love it due to mild taste.

What a disappointment!! After reading so many positive reviews we thought we had stumbled upon a gem, but wow was that so far from the case. The curry’s were tasteless and sloppy - a waste of money. The naans were also very average. Please, don’t be fooled by the reviews! Perhaps it’s better when dining in, but this has to have been the worst Indian takeaway we’ve ever had.

Fantastic for both Eat-In and Delivery! Restaurant is always clean and has a brilliant atmosphere. Food comes out quick and fresh. Delivery takes around 30mins even during busy periods! Reasonable pricing for portion of food received.

I ordered a curry for collection yesterday. By accident I overpaid and couldn't remember if I had paid with a 10 or a 20. When I got home the owner called me to say he owed me a tenner. That just doesn't happen these days, I was nearly in tears. On top of that the food is fantastic.

Sicuramente atmosfera particolare con non troppissimi clienti e con una gran via vai di persone che entravano e uscivano ma a parte questo tutto ok. Cibo buono e abbondante. Il menu è infinito quindi ci vogliono almeno 10 minuti per leggerlo tutto. Consiglio sempre il nan (mi pare si chiami) che è una specie di "pizza" che si accompagna benissimo con verdure e carne. Il servizio ci sta diciamo, non spaziale ma va bene lo stesso. I prezzi sono sempre gli stessi. Quindi con un 15 pound vi fate una bella cena con primo, pane/riso e contorno di verdure.

Food was good. I didn’t like how the waiter almost literally snatched the plates away from my husband just the exact moment he put down his fork and knife after he finished his food and I was still left with roughly five to six more bites on my plates. Don’t blame me, their biryani was delicious.

This has been a tremendous experience,ambient to eat in considerate brought to delivery to take away.Chicken dupiaza etc been great....only just lately I noticed a quite large reduction in the portions....the last one being Bombay aloo (4.95) with just 5 potatoes!! Rather than argue sadly I'll take my custom elsewhere.There always was in them there a slight propensity for them wanting to save and us wanting a decent portion!It was like a recurring default pattern in them,but I ate there quite happily about 9 months until the recent cutbacks...it has been delicious

The best curry I’ve ever had! Atmosphere was great, staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. They accepted our reservation made on the same day just a few hours before opening time. We will definitely go back there again!

We used to eat here all the time pre lockdown and have always enjoyed the food. Since lockdown we have ordered takeaway twice and both times the order was incomplete. The second time this happened I was told I had not ordered the item I had, but when checking the receipt had still been charged for it. When this was questioned I was told it was a delivery charge for being over 2.5 miles away. The longest route by road is within 2 miles so whatever way you look at this I am being lied to, either through non-transparent delivery charges, or for forgotten orders that they do not want to make right. I would not recommend ordering delivery from this restaurant, it has been a let down both times.

Was really excited to try this place after recently moving to the area, however I was left disappointed. The curry’s were low quality and overall underwhelming.

3/2/22! Came here for my mums birthday dinner it was a great experience as always we fully enjoyed ourselves the food was 10/10 and the staff were amazing ! The owner is very friendly and the humble waiter is such a gem. We can’t wait to return Thanks Again

I ordered last week and food was very nice, albeit a bit too salty. Yesterday, as a birthday treat, I reordered some identical menu items, plus a few different ones. Oh, the food was so not the same. So not similar, that it was definitely a different chef. Barely edible. The onions bajis were tiny, oily and burnt. Two prawn curries were so watery, and one so extremely salty. All three nan breads burnt. One was the incorrect bread. I ordered cheese garlic chilli. I received a very dry, thin and super crispy garlic and coriander nan. Very old and must have been yesterdays. The salad had a dried up slice of cucumber. When I picked this piece up, it was so slimy. Totally gross. Old prepared salad. Like last time. Bread and bajis were cold. Other food hot. Due to such drastic inconsistencies, I shall not be ordering again. Such a shame, as whoever made the food last week, especially for the bread, was very good

Anokha was a delightful surprise! I definitely recommend this Indian restaurant; 10/10 food (we ordered the chicken karahi and lamb pathia, both of which were abundantly flavoursome), nice interior, and polite servers. Thank you for the wonderful experience, will definitely be eating here again.

Had a lovely family meal for 9 of us, the staff couldn't have been more accomodating. Delicious meal, big portions and increadible value for money. Bonus is that you can BYO alcohol.

Food was very tasty and decent price too. I will eat here again when I'm next I'm London. They do delivery's and could see they were very busy with delivery. The resturant is nice, it was quiet when we went in to eat. We were only customers in there, but it was a week day and early 5pm roughly. No bar but a off-licence next door with lots chilled drinks at decent price so can just buy there and take in to restaurant and they are Okay with doing this and provide glass and ice if you want ice. It's a very nice place to eat in.

We have had take aways from Anokha most weeks throughout the lockdown. The menu is broad, quality of food always excellent and the whole team are a delight to deal with. Cannot thank them enough for keeping open throughout this year. Greatly appreciated

One of my favourite Indian restaurants! I’ve never had a bad dish, the staff is very kind and the restaurant is small but very well taken care of!

Seen this place many times passing by and always wanted to try their food. Glad I did! The food is tasty and spicy (if you want it to be). They have a huge menu of things on offer and the staff are quick to suggest meals based on how which flavors you like. I went with the waiters choice based on what I like and it was perfect. They do not sell alcohol but have a BYOB policy which is nice! Only downside is that the ambient is not amazing, a bit dark but it is always full! 2020 review: Anokha remains one of the rare places whose food makes your senses go wild. Spectacular food and knowledgeable staff that can recommend the right dish based on your preferences.

One of the best Indian restaurants in London!

This restaurant is an old favourite of ours, serving hearty, generously portioned curries, by lovely helpful staff. The BYOB policy is great as it keeps the bill down too! (There is a bottle shop next door)

We ordered a takeaway due to the current CV19 crisis, they are not Dining. We ordered over the phone and turned up at the allotted time and the food was ready, staff very careful not to get too close and simply handed me the food (we paid over the phone when we ordered the meal) Anyway the food when I arrived home was fantastic, my wife ordered the Special Garlic Lamb with plain rice and she found the lamb very tender I ordered the Chicken Balti with special rice (Nan free with Balti dishes) which was superb too. We ordered the Mushroom side disk which was very tasty. As usual with most takeaways there was easily enough for 3 so we have another meal to look forward too later in the week. The whole meal came to about £24 which works out at about £8 per meal - excellent value.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten.... Alcohol is not needed, everything is full of flavour, nothing is hot for sake of it, price wise is better than expected, I can't wait to go back
