Everything about this place was amazing! Food tasted great and staff were very accommodative (had a toddler with us). Nice little corner of toys too to keep the little ones busy.

Only had coffee which was very good as was the service reasonably priced

We came in for two smoothies and two pancakes. When we ordered we were told there would be a "bit of a wait" for the pancakes. We were due to start a long drive home and had paid for an hour's parking. "A bit of a wait" we took to mean 20 mins, which would have been fine. In reality it took 45 mins to receive our drinks and 1 hour 10 mins to receive our pancakes. My friend I was with is 6 months pregnant and so a wait of this length with no update or explanation is unacceptable. After 1 hour I went to ask where our pancakes were (another family with small children who had been waiting longer having already been refunded and left the cafe). I was told "we told you it would be 20 minutes" which 1. incorrect, 2. rude and 3. we had in fact been waiting for 3 times this length of time. There was simply no urgency from the two staff. They were prioritising take away drinks orders from customers who had come in after us to the detriment of those waiting for dine-in food and drinks. At a much earlier stage, when it was clear that there were ridiculously long waiting times, takeaway orders should have been stopped while the staff focus on existing orders. The cafe is simply too large for the numbers of staff and some re-training is required for staff members on customer service and dealing with orders at sufficient pace. The food was great when it arrived, but was hard to enjoy given the overall experience. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Friendly staff and very good coffee. Usually a good selection of cakes and various savoury options and for those who need it, there are gluten free options available. Nice meeting place for friends.

I had a lovely experience at Annie and the Flint. My order was a latte and cake. Both were really nice. The interior is very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend Annie and the Flint.

Made to wait 10min for a coffee but served someone they know that walked in before us! Very rude as all we wanted was 2 coffees to go

Second visit in 3 years. Great coffee. We were late so only cakes and pastries to eat. Actually couldn't see anything we wanted. Had a croissant in the end. They don't let dogs in because of 'open kitchen' (not ours). So mixed visit.

The best toast I have ever had. Honestly I still dream of it and I visited a month ago! Coffee is delicious as well and the vibe is just lovely! I wish I could eat that toast everyday, at least I can die happy having sampled such a delicacy!

We love the place and come here every morning while on holiday in Ilfracombe. Great coffee and very nice and approachable staff, who have no problems going the extra mile. Also, there is plenty of seating available and some plesant music in the background.

Came to this coffee shop, mid July. It wasn’t overly busy. We were a group of 9 and there was probably another group of the same amount already inside. There were lots of empty seats, so no where near capacity. We all ordered our food, from a very small food menu. An hour later it did not arrive. There appeared to be very little urgency in the food preparation. The food that was being cooked was being cooked on a domestic cooker with a couple of frying pans. This is not sufficient for a cafe, which should have a big griddle. After an hour of waiting and no communication, we received a refund (in cash- because the staff did not know how to refund on the terminal. The two girls were clearly out of their depth. The owner should give them further support and training. Edit: reading previous reviews from last year, it seems it is an ongoing issue that hasn’t been resolved.

Dear Owner, please hire a chef. The two girls have no idea how to deliver a service. We waited for 50minutes after having placed the order. Once we had truly run out of patience, we asked when are we likely to receive the orange juice, coffee or pancakes that we had ordered, and were advised they still had not started prepping our order. We then had to wait further for a refund whilst the girls were texting. Please train them in communication and customer service, and hire a chef. The place seemed pleasant, it's a shame we had such an irritating and disappointing experience.

We came here for breakfast, and first impressions were good. Nice place, friendly staff and the pastries looked good aswell. I ordered a coffee, an orange juice and some pancakes. I then sat down and waited for my drinks (and food). The two staff members were very busy and an hour went by with no drinks or food. Eventually we got up to ask how much longer my order would be and we were told that they hadn't even started our order (after an hour). We requested a refund and went elsewhere. The refund had to be given in cash from a card payment, which wasn't a huge deal, but I hardly use cash these days. The food looks good and the many reviews on Google state this is a lovely cafe, unfortunately, a wait that long before even starting to make coffee (or giving a bottle of orange juice), meant we lost our goodwill before tasting anything.

Lovely cafe. Came to Devon for a long weekend, and we ended up going here for food every day. Staff were lovely on every visit. Prices were very reasonable. There is a wide range of coffee and smoothies, and all the one's we tried were delicious. The flatbread platter was a highlight for the food We were caught a little off guard by the reduced menu on Sundays, but the toasties were 10/10.

Tried 3 different coffee places on high street during a recent visit. The coffee here was by far the tastiest, so if a good cup of coffee is your morning essential too ... here is the place.

A rare half hour to myself so I'm treating myself to a delicious coffee amd a beautifully warmed almond croissant. Love this place, a real gem !

Fantastic breakfast and really friendly staff. Great to see people that really know how to prepare genuinely good coffee, rare to find. A little on the slow side but atmosphere was great even in the school holidays so expected it to be louder. Food was well worth the wait really great value for money and made fresh. Mapled halloumi was delicious.

This was a great place to have lunch. The wraps were bigger than we expected and the flatbread platter was a feast of deliciousness.

It was good to find something other than fish and chips or a pasty in Ilfracombe. The salad bowl and platter was lovely, but the falafel was a bit disappointing, mostly because it was cold... and not the best I've had. The mango and coconut smoothie is a must! I would go back just for that.

I visited on a couple of occasions whilst living in Ilfracombe over winter. One of the multiple cafes on the high street this cafe is quite hard to see into as it suffers from condensation on the interior full windows, which makes it difficult to see inside and thus assess if there is room to sit. Once inside there cafe is split into 2 small halves, with the cash desk flanked by cake displays, with chalk writing detailing what cakes are available that day and at what price. On every visit, the staff were friendly but seemed overwhelmed/inexperienced and anything ordered from the menu took some time to arrive as there seemed a lot of multi-tasking going on. The menu was very poor in terms of visibility and I've attached some pictures to illustrate how faint the writing was. Seemed to attract a younger clientele maybe based on being associated with the young people running the cafe. Unfortunately both the savoury food and cakes were quite underwhelming in taste and texture. Given the competition nearby it's hard to justify a visit.

The coffee was great but more importantly I suddenly felt quite unwell while I was there and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful.

A lovely mocha this morning, staff very friendly (and I found the Toby jug 😁, if you spot it you get a free cuppa, I'd already bought mine so they gave me a full loyalty card for next time). Love the atmosphere and decor, comfy seating, just a takeaway for me this morning though 😊

Shocking when 4 people ask for tea and toast and there are only 4 pieces of bread in the building not good enough half the thing's on the menu were missing I'm sorry but in this day and age not good enough

Coffee was good. Food was good when it arrived but seemed to take an age when there were very few customers. Over 30mins for a salad and 2 pizzas. Staff were very nice though and there is a nice play corner for children. Good baby change facilities.

We stumbled across this coffee shop whilst trying to grab some lunch. The place from tbe outside doesn't look that great but trust me the coffee and food are good. We ordered the falafel wrap, chicken taco and 2 Pizza's. All tbe food was freshly made and tasted great. Portion size was good and all for less than £30 (including a flat white). Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I visited on 10/10/20. I would give the food a 5 * but the customer service isn’t really there. We walked in and had no acknowledgement from any member of staff (there were 3) and we saw this for a number of other customers too. Eventually asked if we’d like a menu. Sat down then went back to counter to order. Drinks arrived 1st, then food. No cutlery or napkins given. Luckily we used the toilet after eating as some people say, the loos reflect the kitchens. (You can see where the food is prepared). Had to sign in before entry to cafe so my details were on show for all to see and it wasn’t table service as per government guidelines. Food was really good though so would return in the future.

Food is just so tasty and a bit different. All sorts of diets are catered for and the salads are amazing...as are the cakes. Covid precautions are all in place but doesn't feel intrusive, I felt safe and relaxed. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here on a rainy holiday day a few weeks ago and my partner still talks about the chicken sandwich she had it was that good! And the banana bread with cinnamon butter was amazing. They were really busy but the girls working were great, and the space felt clean and safe, on it with social distancing etc

The pancakes were unbelievable!! Even the granary toast with marmite was lifted to another level 👌. Earl Grey tea & cappuccino were superb, too.

We called in here for breakfast. The menu was interesting - especially if you have a sweet tooth! The service was good.

Poor staff need some help in there, they looked about 16. Waited an hour for food that didn't arrive. They really seemed to be struggling with not too many people in there and also had burnt loads of stuff and the whole place was smoked out. There was an extractor but they didn't use it. The management should take a look here, such a shame.

Last day of our holiday and wanted to finalise the great time we had with a lovely breakfast and they didn't disappoint, They do the best smoothies and the food is delicious - got pics for you too - wished we had gone sooner but we did have a full on holiday with lots of fun, definitely one we will be visiting when returning and to add to this the staff are absolutely lovely - thank you to all.

Gorgeous brunch. Friendly staff. French toast to die for. Yum. Bagels were lovely and there was a great choice for vegetarians which is a rarity in Ilfracombe. I agree with. Previous review - Tidy up the toilet area for more 5* reviews.

Came on a rainy day on our holiday and it didn’t disappoint, we ate from the wide variety menu (including vegan) with lovely staff! We had coffee, smoothies, cake and sandwiches - all made with polite, efficient staff! The smoothies are highly recommended! We played cards until the rain stopped and the staff didn’t mind. Love the decor and covid-19 precedures in place were good.

Great little place on the high street with great coffee and delicious food made fresh in the open kitchen. Plenty of space and tables but personally still misses that “comfy factor” that you’d expect from most modern cafes. Some of the old chairs and “chests” are getting a little grubby. But after the recent extension through to the next building, I’m sure this will change with time. Keep up the good work AATF.

We have been coming to this cafe on the high street for some time as their coffee is very nice. Their quirky and eclectic decor added to its unique appeal...however my 3 stars is due to the lack of cleanliness, their extention looks unfinished and grubby, their “stored” tools in full view, their kids corner looks a bit sad and toilets are not clean to be polite! A shame as this place has a real potential, their menu is simple yet appealing and flavoursome...perhaps a lick of paint, a good cleaning maintenance, some organisation and toys in the kids corner and some extra staff during busy periods it’s all it needs....

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Not very busy and 10 times better than Costa. People need to support the small independent businesses. Use it or lose it is my motto.

My partner came here 4 times during our week in Illfracombe. First time just for coffee a good atmosphere, quite a few local people, some coming in for takeaways and some parents mainly mothers coming in with very young children and sitting in the adjoining room which is great for kids with toys books etc. A good range of juices, smoothies as well as coffee. We came twice for breakfast, birchbener museli beautifully made with some extra fruit, a home made granola not too sweet and fantastic pancakes. American style so chunky and thick with yogurt and fruit and compote. Perfect. Very generous portions too. Everything made from scrach so sometimes bit of a wait. Only quibble probably a bit understaffed

We stopped in for a light lunch and both ended up ordering pizza. We'd expected a small one or a nice slice whereas it consisted of two large slices with heaps of topping on a nice crisp base. So much infact that we counted it as our main meal.

Best coffee in Ilfracombe tried a few others but this was on another level great service from the staff
