Lovely traditional Thai food rather than tourist/western interpretation. The chef will adjust your food to suit your tastes and, where possible, will make a vegan or gluten free version.

We absolutely adore Anissa's Thai - having spent many months in Thailand over the years this is hands down the best Thai food outside of Thailand. As a fellow New Forest Marque member too - really great that they use local, top quality ingredients too. This is a regular haunt for us, so tasty, incredibly friendly and good value. Thank you!

The Garlic Salt Squid was one of the worst squid dishes I've ever eaten. Tiny circles of squid so dry that it was like trying to eat rubber bands - only less elastic. I'm used to eating chillies but one piece caused me significant distress. For nearly 10 minutes, I could hardly talk. A terrible dish but I didn't want to complain at the time because I didn't want to put a downer on the evening for my wife and friends. Very poor value for money.

Table for two for dinner. 1 x large Singha, water, soup, squid, panang, noodles - £50 so good value. Squid starter was rather disappointing, a little too dry possibly, sauce with it went well. Soup was good although quite a small portion, good prawns, mee gati noodles were a good choice, panang sauce very good and vegetables were crisp and not overcooked. Service was good, we had all items together and that took about 35 minutes which was fine as we were in no rush. Good experience, we will return. PS Gluten Free items well labelled.

Amazing, authentic Northern Thai cuisine! I love this place. We love our Thai food and have eaten at many restaurants in the area. Anissa's hands down beats all of the rest. Sutti is an amazing business owner and host. Such a kind, friendly and accommodating person. He's always got a smile on his face and makes you feel special every time you go there. The food is just delicious! I love my Thai food as spicy as possible and instead of just having jungle curry as the extra-spicy option, there's more on offer here! If you like a spice challenge, give the Kua Gling a go. It's so packed with flavour and will test even the most hardened of fire eaters! The restaurant is priced fairly. Not the cheapest but you are paying for quality. Give Anissa's a go. You won't regret it.

Food was ok. I had the calamari starter which although the flavour wasn’t too bad, the texture was dry and tough. Yup not rubbery, tough. It was quite a chew. Then I had the Fish Grapow which came with rice. It was a bit too salty I had to borrow a lime from my friends Pad Thai to break the saltiness. Even then I wish it had a slightly sweet flavour to lift it. But the one thing that could’ve really ruined our night was the service. We chose not to let it bother us then as we were out with friends we haven’t seen in awhile. The waitress that took our order really had an attitude. She pulled faces when my friend ordered, maybe she mispronounced something I don’t know. Then when she brought my mains she put it down whilst facing and talking to someone else whilst I watched the sauce dish on the plate slide towards me - could’ve been an accident. But just rude nonetheless. Thai restaurants are known for their warmth and incredible service, but this one let them down I think.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend who lives in the area. I booked a table for one as I was visiting the seaside on the day. Booking system is via texts/WhatsApp outside of opening hours (5pm it open on a weekday). The restaurant is right on the small high street so no parking available, however this spot is still a short walk from parking at the New Forest bit. First, I was asked leave as I walked in with my dog and was opting for the take away menu. As we were standing outside the owner popped out from the kitchen and greeted us and welcomed us in whilst choosing from the menu. Following this the waitress came back and offered us to stay in for a meal as that night (Wednesday) wasn't too busy. I sat with my dog by the window far from everyone else closed him in the corner with his treats and little rug. I was happy that I could stay with my dog in the end have a meal. I ended up having 2 starters and a soup as the duck dish I was after they didn't have. The crispy octopus was perfect, and the pork jerky wasn't too bad either. Tom kha was a bit too sweet to my liking, however the prawns were cooked well and had specialty mushrooms in it which was a great twist to the usual. All in all we had a great time after a long day at the beaches with the pup and just delighted that I didn't have to have a take away in plastic tubs in my car in the dark before driving back home.

We had a decent meal here but nothing like as good as portrayed in other reviews and in the Mail on Sunday by Tom Parker-Bowles.The phrase “too many cooks” comes to mind. The staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing post COVID.Our meal was initially sent to another table before the mistake was realised and the food was retrieved and sent back to us but only after other diners had tasted it using their fingers.Staff tried to pass the same meal back on to us until my wife complained stating she had seen the woman at the other table stick her finger into our meal.Eventually they relented and cooked us a fresh meal.My Pad Kra Poa (served with fried egg on top) was tasty. The spring roll and calamari starters were ok but not memorable. My wife’s Isarn Set (grilled chicken, sticky rice and papaya) was “ok” in her opinion but “not very authentic”.The Thai Forest - just up the road is more authentic and a better bet.

Great to share.Beef jerky £7 slightly dry but with a great dipping sauce.Spicy vegetable salad £10Amazing flavours with peanuts the flavours on the tongue were sensational.Spicy prawn crackers £2 came along time after the starters but we had a long wait for our mains. The restaurant was full and many take aways left the kitchen too during service. Our mains cameTom yung goon with king prawns so succulent they could have just been pulled out of the nets.Chicken Thai green curry with coconut and thai peas .King prawn and peanut pad Thai, the noodles oosed flavour and sauce, fresh vegetables adding crunch. We were incredibly full afterwards. No room for our favourite gluey tord although the owner told us due to covid her freezer was full of her homemade icecream that she had made and wasnt used. With drinks 2 large glasses of white and 3 btls of chilled chang beer the bill was less than £90.We will 100% be frequent diners from now on.

Can not recommend Anissa’s highly enough. From the beautiful teal exterior through to the feature wall behind the bar & cheerful bunting, Annisa’s decor sets the vibe for a wonderful dinner. The exceptional waitress Sophie seated my friend and I with no fuss despite the fact we were incredibly early waiting our other 3 friends. We both fancied a cuppa which came in a very interesting way, simply explained by Sophie. She was unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable throughout our dining experience. The owner took the time to come and say hello and happily chatted about the area of Thailand she came from. We ordered a starter each and shared them between us, the dumplings were moist and beautifully cooked in a lovely sauce, fishcakes were a real stand out with lots of interesting flavours. Sophie talked us through the menu, allowing us all to put forward our specific tastes and personally recommending a dish for each of us. I’m a wuss with spice so i opted for the chicken noodle dish which was really flavourful and plenty of it! My friends all thought their meals were the best Thai food they had had, with one friends crab giving me real food envy! An authentic dining experience not to be missed!

We had our first Thai meal here last night & I have to say, it’s one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had. The staff were so friendly & knowledgable. They gave us recommendations based on what spice we like & it was all incredible. All the menu looks amazing. Even the children’s menu looks perfect for our fussy little ones. We will definately be going back to try more.

Fantastic, unique, traditional and quirky Thai restaurant. They managed to fit us in even though they were busy for the night. We were made to feel so welcomed by the amazing waitress there (sorry we didn't get her name) she even told us how to eat the spring rolls in a different way, which was incredible. The food is fresh and all made from scratch although the only issue with that is what to choose as all options were mouth watering and different! We can't wait to return to this restaurant and will make the hour journey from where we live as it is worth it! Highly recommend this restaurant! Oh and give the homemade ice cream a go....sensational, especially the coconut and mango!

The food here is excellent and prepared by people who really know the Thai cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and good quality. Having travelled extensively in Thailand this is completely authentic. Particularly enjoyed the Massiman curry and the homemade ice cream is delicious.

Eight out of ten from us. This was half the price of dinner at Rhinefield House hotel which scored only a seven. Mains were tasty, wholesome and light.

Whenever we visit Anissa’s be it for an impromptu lunch or dinner we know we are always going to come away happy. The food is always amazing but what adds to the whole dining experience is the welcome and friendliness of the staff. Having spent 5 months travelling around Thailand many years ago, the food here is authentic Thai and brings back many memories of our time there. This is my favourite restaurant and can’t recommend it highly enough. I am looking forward to the launch of their new menu in December which Im sure will be very successful. Will look forward to many future visits.

I really don’t enjoy writing a review of this nature but their treatment of us was frankly appalling. The family have been loyal and regular customers of theirs for a couple of years and have always enjoyed. Last time we attended we asked whether we could bring our dog which they allowed. My Mother in Law booked a table 3 weeks ago for last night again deliberately telling them we would bring our dog. They agreed and took the booking. The table was for 8pm. They phoned at 6.30pm to cancel our table citing that other customers had complained about our dog. This must be utter rubbish. We are acutely aware and sensitive of other diners not being keen on dogs in restaurants. Our dog is medium sized, exceptionally well behaved and quiet in restaurants. In any event the last time we went to this restaurant with our dog the restaurant was half empty due to a nearby music and food festival. I think it is extremely discourteous to except a booking to then cancel 1 1/2 hours before the due time on a Saturday night leaving us no chance of finding an alternative venue. Needless to say they have lost the family custom forever.

Visited here with my wife as fancied a Thai meal, and this didn't disappoint. The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly. Situated in Lyndhurst High Street there are plenty of bars and restaurants, however, would recommend a trip to Annisa's Thai Kitchen. Many thanks............

My partner and I were staying for a week in the New forest. We decided on a Friday evening that we would take a drive to one of the nearby towns. We walked up the high street, and both being lovers of Thai food, we thought we would give it a go. We were so glad that we did! We had the most delicious meal. The staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was great, the wine was wonderful and really tasty food!! We live 90 miles from the restaurant, and will definitely make efforts to return.

The owners are really attentive, warm and welcoming. The food is delicious with authentic flavours. Service was really good and the food arrived in good time. I ordered the prawn green curry and my partner ordered the prawn red curry - both meals were amazing and lots of nice, big prawns too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They even do cookery classes!
