Anise in Wrexham

Me and my father always have a superb meal at this restaurant. Definitely the best the area. Miah’s taxi service is absolutely second to none, would use again without hesitation.

Usually lovely with great food but until that waiter with the glasses learns some manners I won't be going back. I asked for poppadoms whilst deciding on main course and his reply was "il take your order for that when you've decided on your mains,it's much easier for me that way" and got asked if we were leaving soon as they were closing-at half past 9.was rude last time we all went but thought we'd try again. Still no manners.

What can I say, Friendly staff, great service, nice decor & food was amazing! I had popadoms & pickle tray which was very nice then chicken tikka starter, cooked spot on. The chicken jalfrezi was excellent & I loved the garlic naan bread mmm. The perfect drink for curry is cobra lager which I had too. All in all Anise is worthy of 5 stars & I will definitely return.

I love curry and this place consistently gets it right. The staff are friendly and the food is tasty. I know if I order a dish it will be the same as it was last time I ordered it. Never had a bad meal from here. I just wished they served lassi.

Me and my ten year old daughter love it here ,, food is amazing they cater for my daughter perfectly as she like a plain curry but little bit spicy ,, and it’s always perfect for her ,, best Indian in and around Wrexham without a doubt

What to say about this Indian restaurant...... One word, Amazing! The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated, and the tables were beautifully dressed. The staff were ALL well presented and very chatty and polite, and we had a really nice chat with the waiter. The food came out in a good amount of time and was beautiful! The "spicy tomatoe" part of the pickle tray (instead of a lime/dill pickle) was amazing. Not too spicy either. We ate the lot. I recommend the Chicken Kashmiri (so long as you like banana and chicken together, don't judge. it's a fantastic combo) the drinks were so reasonable too. £3 for a whiskey in a restaurant seems cheap to me. Anyway, I'm babbling. My mother-in-law had a fantastic birthday meal out, and all 4 of us would recommend this place for a meal if you're in the Wrexham (or even Chester) area!

Food was excellent and staff very friendly

The best Bangladeshi food I can te all eating. The waitets are reallt chatty and friendly and pilite beyond needed. I lived everything about Anise and will retirn many times you will love it. We fod over ordet too many dishes but for what we had with 2 bottles of wune wad very cheap for the amazing wuality of the food. Loved it

Really disappointed with tonight’s takeaway, chicken in one of the dishes was really over cooked, as tough as old boots. Everything else was good but the texture of the chicken ruined one persons meal. Have been a long standing repeat customer so really disappointed that tonight’s meal was so poor.

Found this to be one of the not so many eateries open on a Monday in Wrexham and very pleased we did. Excellent food and staff were most welcoming and at no time did we feel under pressure to move to next course.

Selected this restaurant for my birthday meal as I had a takeaway in November which was outstanding. Excellent food and service for a party of 14 Ambience was great as we had a private room for our somewhat noisy party. Would certainly visit again

This is a restaurant that I visit relatively often. Why? I enjoy the food, the welcome and the service. Tonight, my main dish was Chicken Shahi, with Kashmiri rice (alongside a starter of Aloo Chat). I couldn't finish it all, as I was too full! It was a lovely mix of tastes and spices. Anise is definitely worth a visit, if you are in Wrexham.

It was the best restaurant experience! Can't imagine how it could possibly be improved upon. The quality is consistent too, have never had anything but gorgeous food to die for!

Food average, a little pricey poor si

Attended with a family of four. We were shown to our table and it was around 20 minutes before we had to call over for someone to take drinks order. It then took a further 15 minutes for someone to attend our table to take our food order. Would I book this place in the future. I would say no. The person seating us should have asked what drinks would we like as soon as we were seated

We’ve had dinner here twice in the past couple of years when we drive through from Hollyhead to London. The food is worth a detour. Decor is strange and I wish portion sizes were bigger, but service is friendly and their recipes are delicious. onion bhaji (4/5) tandoori chicken starter (4/5 on its own, 5/5 with mint yogurt) garlic naan (4/5) fried rice (5/5, its greasy and the serving is for one, not sharing. still, its delicious) jalfrezi (5/5) chicken komai (?) (5/5) house red wine (shiraz) (4/5)

Whole party enjoyed their meals. Food is well spiced. Madras was nice and hot. Of my limited knowledge of Wrexham curry houses, this is the best so far.

Been here for dinner with a birthday party. The food is good but better suited to local spice levels. The naan was fluffy and tasted great. Their portion sizes for the mains can be better for the price. They have parking, facilities and a separate bar. They have designated seating arrangements for larger groups.

We were stopping in Wrexham the night before a business trip and fancied some Indian food. The curry's in here are the best I have had in years, spice was just right, there was plenty of it and it was very flavoursome. Highly recommended

Placed an order for collection. Pick up was really easy and quick. I ordered here after seeing the extensive amount of vegan options.. and the food? Absolutely phenomenal! My favourite curry is a mushroom pathia and it was absolutely beautiful. Great amount of spice, plenty of flavour and the rice (mushroom rice) was so soft and tasty! I've just come back from a week away for work purposes and the rice was softer than the pillows at my hotel. 5*. Thank you Anise!

Excellent, only 4 stars for the food as the butter chicken was excessively sweet and not to our taste, but may suit others? Otherwise the food and service were excellent!

Fantastic food and service as always

We'd pre booked a table for a group of 16 of us on a Saturday evening. Our table eas already set up ready to go when we arrived. Very efficient service from the waiting on team, who gave us the right degree of attentiveness. They had a system going to make sure that they'd taken the order for our large group correctly and did a great job of getting all the food out. Great portions of food too, a couple of people ended up organising for leftovers to be boxed up to take home! Very tasty food enjoyed all round too (just be careful with the hotter dishes - those really can be tiny green chillis rather than bits of pepper!)

In my opinion the best Indian restaurant in Wrexham. The food is very good, the service is friendly and attentive and the appearance is modern, clean and tidy.

Called in on Saturday evening and despite not booking didn't have to wait long for a table. Staff were polite and friendly. My fish jalfrezi was superb. A lovely balance of spice with a touch of sweetness. Garlic naan was also lovely with a slightly crunchy bake - no hint of doughiness. Cobra was overpriced at £5 and my dish was on the pricey side at £15. My friends ate less expensive dishes and were equally impressed.

Very bad experience. We expected good Indian curries but taste was so bad I have never tried bad food in ever my life.

We went to Anise after a long 3 hour drive looking for some dinner. Upon walking in, we saw that all food options could be altered to be vegan, none of us are vegan but we thought the accommodation was brilliant. We were seen to quickly despire not booking, and our starters came. The presentation of the food was gorgeous and the food itself was great. Although they were simple dishes, they were dishes that could have easily gone wrong, but they were perfect. We ordered our mains, and yet again the food was perfect and the presentation was also perfect. I genuinely have no criticism. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, although more on the quiet side, everyone seemed happy and it uplifted our spirits too. The staff are kind and happy to help. We enjoyed everything thoroughly, and would definitely come here again if we were in the area.

Absolutely love Anise, great food, wonderful people. We have a takeaway from there sometimes if we don't fancy going out and the food is always spot on. Great value for the best Indian food around.

Vindaloo, pathos & cilli madras we’re our mains which were all tasty and spiced perfectly. It was great to see Robert again after so long and good to see the anise is still in safe hands.

We had an amazing experience at Anise one Friday evening after work. The restaurant was very busy with a fabulous, lively atmosphere. The staff were a young group of guys who were on hand to assist with serving drinks, taking orders and tending to the customers. The food was delicious, served on pre-warmed plates, very tasty indeed. We cannot fault what turned out to be a really wonderful evening. Thank you Anise. We will see you again soon!!

Living in Spain this is my first time back here in a few years. Still a great place to enjoy a curry, excellent menu, fantastic food and great service. A throughly enjoyable evening.

Always have a lovely meal in here. Went last night and they have a very good deal in a Wednesday for £10.99 and it was very tasty. Good quick service and nice staff. Food is very fresh.

Just picked up a chicken biriani from here for tonight's take away and the vegetable curry that comes with it is the worst I have ever had. Tub was half full and it was mostly sauce hardly any vegetables just several peices of mushroom and a tiny piece of potato! I live 12 miles away so hardly going to return it and will probably not buy one again either. Very disappointed especially when it has such good reviews it swayed me to try it 😕

Amazing Family meal out for 9 of us! Such a friendly and professional service provided. Personally went with Roshun Lamb, which was the best medium heat Indian dish I have ever had! Caravanning just outside Wrexham, we spotted this on TA and gave it a try. Got a chicken tikka makni and a bhuna. The first was fruity as advertised and the bhuna was gently spicy. Naans were good size, very tasty and the poppodums were super crispy and fresh..... all fo £23. Delicious.... What more do you want?

On our recent visit with a party of six for the majority the food was really good but two of our party they felt that the chilli heat for their mains was not the usual for other Indian restaurants they had visited. The culprits were dupiazi and rogan Josh. Apart from that little problem the whole meal experience was very good.

Wine Chile Merlot £15 for the bottle. When you consider other restaurants price's. Anyway first visit. Nothing to complain about. Not what i was expecting - ordered Tuna starter - expected a small tuna steak - I received I think tuna flakes in curry sauce. Not for me. Fish for main - again not a whole fish as I was expecting, all chopped up and liquidated again not for me Not overly impressed at all...

Enjoyed a number of takeaways from Anise. Definetely the best curry house in Wrexham. Food is always delicious and good quality. Naans and popadoms are good size, freshly made and taste lovely. Large variety of curry's to choice from. Great portion size for the price.

The service was excellent, really friendly and attentive staff. Our curries were tasty. The puri (bread) and naans were great. The starter with prawns was perhaps rather more veggie than prawn! The duck in my curry could have been a bit more tender. Nonetheless I’d recommend this curry house as a very friendly place and a good stop off before the cinema.

We haven't been to Anise for a long time. With living outside of Wrexham, there are a number of closer Indian take away options. However, after trying most of these, we would prefer to drive the distance in order to enjoy better quality food. Friendly service, food ready on time. Good quality meat and very tasty!
