Very friendly staff, lovely room but a bit small, good breakfast, good facilities. Very pleasant place to stay, located in a quiet location.

Wanted to find out if restaurant had improved in last year, as reviews seemed divided. The menu was old school British. The execution was very disappointing. The prawn cocktail was out of the 1960s - marie rose that tasted like ketchup + mayo mixed, bread was thin sliced wholemeal that could have come from Tesco. Pork chop was as hard as a hockey puck. The apricot bread & butter pudding was as advertised - a thin apricot jam sandwich that was dry baked and served cold. Once a jewel in the crown of the Angmering area, now, not even worth a google search.

We've been coming to this hotel on and off about a decade. When we first came it was fantastic and an excellent stay with wonderful service. It has gone through some changes of ownership and management and last time we came it was a very poor or and faded version of the hotel we knew before. This most recent state stay was a fantastic improvement on the last. New management are clearly dedicated to improving the experience for their guests. We had a simple one-night stay with a meal in the restaurant and everything was great.

An interesting room with gorgeous food in the restaurant, this gem has a nicely set up pool area that my wife and I enjoyed immensely. However, opaque film in the bathroom, please! And please, hire some staff! While my stepmother and aunt still lived we enjoyed this lovely hotel almost monthly for several years. You had a snug that everyone enjoyed; drinks, chats, even cards were played. Why on earth us it private dining when no-one uses it?!

This hotel has so much potential but unfortunately it feels underfunded and therefore has failed to impress us. The staff are nice enough, the waiters in the restaurant are attentive, the location is good and the building itself inside is pretty impressive in places. Also, the pool is actually lovely and added a star to the overall rating. But that is where the good things end. We booked into a superior double room. Not sure in which way it is supposed to be superior. I guess the size is good. And there is tea, instant coffee and biscuits in the room that are refreshed daily. However, the room looks tired, the wallpaper on the wall - old-fashioned, and not in a good way. Impressive looking bed is squeaky and the headboard is looking more shabby than chic with use. The worst place, however, was the shower. There was mould on the wall, around soap holder, and around the shower cubicle (see photos). The toiletries provided are super basic - just hand soap and boywash/shampoo combo. Hairdryer is really old-fashioned and it takes forever to dry long hair. There are robes in the room, which also look tired, have stains in places and broken belt loops. But still useful for going to the swimming pool. There is water provided by the swimming pool but never any glasses available to actually drink the water out of. The breakfast is not very impressive. The buffet bit has basic cereal and a few jams, some fruit and a fruit salad. There is a small old-fashioned coffee-machine that has to be refilled all the time and is mainly empty, also orange and apple juice. Tea has to be ordered. The only pastries available are croissants that constantly run out. Not even a toaster and bread. Although you can order those, along with cooked breakfast which is ok but mainly just eggs in all sorts of iterations. Overall, it feels like it was an amazing place at some point but the business has run out of money and everything is just managed with minimum investment and no attention to details. At £130 a night and 4 stars we expected a lot more.

A fabulous weekend at a truly beautiful 16th Century manor house. The hotel itself is steeped in history, traditionally and thoughtfully decorated. Our room, a superior double (room 204) was beautifully decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was a little on the small side, however that just made it cosier! A standing fan was a welcome addition as we were lucky to have hot weather! Our room was well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, (no fridge), and was spotlessly clean. A big shout out to the lovely Kayleigh (Manager) and the team of housekeeping ladies, as I accidentally knocked over my red wine and stained the wall much to my absolute horror - they cleaned it and made me feel much better about it! We ate in the restaurant on one night, the a la carte menu was delicious (steak and duck) and the waiting staff were extremely attentive. The full cooked breakfast was also delicious! The gardens were also fabulous, very well maintained and colourful, and beautiful garden furniture. We used the pool and the sauna, both welcome additions to our wonderful stay. We had car issues on the last day, which meant I was stranded at the hotel past our check out time, all staff were extremely accommodating and happy to help in any way they could. Thank you so much to you all!

We booked for a swing and soul night. The singer was amazing. Our table unfortunately was the worst in the venue - we were the only table who could not see the entertainment!! We had booked several weeks in advance but that obviously didn't help. The food was very good. The service was friendly and fast but lacking in certain aspects. We didn't get asked if we wanted water for the table and had to ask for it. Also we had to ask twice for salt and pepper. No sauces were offered with our meals ie mint or apple. We also had to chase up each time we wanted another round of drinks. So, some improvements could be made. Overall a good evening but do not settle for table number 1 !!

We a booked a family and we were very disappointed as it was dark, small, cramped and NOT value for money. We had to ask for a third towel and you had to navigate the pull out bed to get to the toilet. In the gym, no equipment was working on the Saturday. Breakfast was very disappointing - the orange juice was poor quality, the mushrooms not fresh and I ordered eggs Benedict which was covered in a thick/excessive hollandaise sauce. We had made a reservation for dinner, but we cancelled on the recommendation of a local couple and went to the Lamb which served fantastic fresh food.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and overlooks the garden. We were offered tea or coffee, there were pretty bone china cups, saucers and plates set out on the table. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented with a selection of 4 different sandwich fillings, the bread was extremely fresh. There were homemade sausage rolls and a slice quiche. The scones and cakes were all homemade and were as follows, chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake,Victoria sponge, macarons and scones with jam and clotted cream. The gentleman who served the tea explained each cake. We had a really relaxing afternoon and i would thoroughly recommend....we will definitely be returning!

The hotel is inviting, charismatic and the smell of open fires is just lovely on a cold wet night. The dining room delightful. And sadly that’s as far as it goes for the positives. Firstly, the ladies on duty weren’t attentive in anyway, no greeting and no one enquired if any of us had allergies, and we had a Celiac dining. We had no water on the table. Our mains were nothing more than okay, and our desserts disappointing having to return 2 dishes as they were stone cold, sticky toffee pudding straight from the fridge is very unpleasant! Our plates whipped away and we thought we were ordering coffees, only to have our bill presented and told to pay on the way out! Such a shame as this establishment could be brilliant. Perhaps some staff training wouldn’t go amidst!

I'm now a returning customer and have stayed alone as a treat/break to destress, with a friend as a mums night away, and as part of a romantic break as a couple, and I'll be coming back again. The pool and sauna are lovely, the gardens are pretty and a pleasant stroll even in the rain, and the 16th century building itself is a wonderful setting. The rooms are warm, comfortable, immaculately clean, well laid out and equipped with everything you need. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly, as well as accommodating. The breakfast buffet is a great mix of pastries, fresh fruit, with both premade granola pots and options to make your own, again beautifully presented. Coffee is fresh, and the cooked breakfast options are delicious, and the service is excellent. Having now had meals in the restaurant and bar, the food is of the same high quality and standard as everything else, and highly recommended. Despite living close enough to know a few of the people living locally through work, Angmering Manor has become a haven away from the hustle bustle and stress of everyday life. It's in a beautiful setting with a quality of service that can't be improved on. My only "complaint" would be that like many smaller hotels they don't offer room service, but beyond that I can't find anything that isn't 10/10

The place has a lot of character and is not a typical hotel one would expect while browsing the selection. Booked for an over night stay as work required me to be in same area in the morning. The lady I Checked in with was pleasant. The room was lovely and I slept well. I ate in the restaurant and the gentleman was great. Very attentive and kind. The food, although it tasted good could have been presented better. Breakfast was ok. However, the waitress was asking me questions before I even sat down. I know she was being attentive but I would like to be seated first. My full English was plonked in front of me and she went to walk away I called her back to ask for sauce. There weren't any check backs on both meals either. I understand the rush in morning when the chef could be asking you to get the orders in quickly as I saw him leave the kitchen abruptly with mug in hand. Probably needing a break from the rush of 9 people for breakfast. Well that was my first thought. Turned out he was on reception and turned out to be the most pleasant and polite member of staff. Myself and my daughter came for Ladies that lunch for my birthday. The pool area was very run down, cobwebs everywhere. The shower door lock was broken, as was the toilet door lock and one of the 2 changing room door locks. There were lockers to put handbag etc but only a key in one of them. The lunch menu was completely different to the one of the website. We ordered the burger and chips. My daughter asked what was included in the burger as she is pregnant and sauces make her feel sick. She was told it would just be cheese but it came with burger sauce. She asked for a replacement bun but they took the meal away and kept her waiting 10 minutes for a replacement. Unfortunately the wait was not worth it as the burger was so dry, it was a struggle to eat it all, as was my burger. My dessert was coconut panacota with a fruit compote but was served with no compote. I was told when booking the ladies that lunch that it was £25 each but when we received the bill, had been charged £25.95 each. Overall the place has become really run down and the food not such good quality, I will not be going there again

I have given my review 1 star as there is no facility to give zero. I booked one year in advance in September 2022 to stay between 8th and 10th September 2023. When the dates for The Goodwood Revival were announced, the hotel was very quick to inform me of a huge price increase, to take advantage of the influx of visitors to the area. However, despite amending their prices to accommodate the festival, they do not amend their breakfast times to accommodate their guests attending the festival. Therefore, No Breakfast! To add insult to injury, the one breakfast I did take was average at best and charged extra, despite every booking page showing ‘Breakfast Included’. You have to look very carefully, way down the page to see this is for a continental breakfast only. Angering Manor’s idea of continental breakfast is a few uninspiring breakfast cereals poured into glass jars and a supermarket croissant. When I took up these matters with staff they were combative and argumentative, basically saying it was my choice to miss breakfast to get to the festival on time and that I should have seen on booking.com that free breakfast was continental only (cereal only). Regular night at this hotel with breakfast = £107. During the festival weekend = £215 and No breakfast. If you want food, I highly recommend the pub, The Lamb at Angering just 200 metres down the road where the delightful staff are friendly, helpful and the food is excellent. I for one will never visit this hotel again.

Be warned the pictures of the room on the website are not representative of the room itself. There were no curtains on the posts so it was just a pointless square box. Each post was thick with dust and the mattress dipped in numerous areas. The whole room was tired and dated. Window catches broken and so some strange sliding glass had been put infront. The hallway light kept going on or off despite nobody walking past which was hugely distracting when trying to sleep. Either it's faulty or the place is hanuted. Staff were friendly although prior to the stay i had spoken to them twice over the phone requesting booking confirmation was sent to me due to an issue on Booking.com. My friend treated me to their ladies that lunch package, for £25 for use of the ‘spa’ and a two course dinner we weren’t expecting a five star experience but the experience ended up being poor and the service even worse. The pool area is nice enough but only 4 rattan chairs and no space to relax pool side as the sides are so narrow, also with no music or any kind of ambience it’s only good for a quick few lengths at best. However the biggest letdown was lunch. Both my friend and I ordered their soup and it was without question the worst thing I have ever eaten, resembling wallpaper paste we only managed a couple of mouthfuls each before giving up. It tasted of absolutely nothing. We complained to the waitress but we’re offered nothing in compensation and we were still charged on the bill. As my friend was paying I didn’t want to make a scene so emailed a complaint when I got home. It’s been 9 days and I’ve had no reply. Truly awful customer service. A very disappointing valentines meal. Greeted for our pre-odered 3 course meal by a rude hostess, we were the first to be seated in the restaurant for the night. 25 minuets later, our starter arrived before our drinks ( a complimentary glass of prosecco each and a bottle of tap water). Starters was very bland and the fried item were cold, even though we are one of three parties in the restaurant at this point. Luckily, our mains arrived promptly after our starter. Yet, this consisted of dry and bland chicken. When we finished, it took the staff about 30 minuets to clear our plates. We then continued to wait 20 extra minuets before we gave up waiting for our desert and had to ask 3 times for someone to grab the bill for us. During this time, we started talking to the couple sat next to us who seemed to be having similar issues. Overall, this was a very disappointing meal and no one single memeber of staff appologies for the poor servise.
