Anglesey Arms in Chichester

Food was fabulous. My only complaint was that the glasses were not clean. Water glasses covered lime scale and old lipstick on my wineglass.

Very comfortable feel to the dining area, welcoming staff, good service and a very varied choice of food on the menu. Nice selection of beers available. The "lighter lunch" options were good to see. Very happy to recommend.

Very dog friendly pub (even have a dog menu! 😍)- the staff are all so lovely and they treat us and our pup wonderfully every visit 🙂 Food and drinks are great, service is amazing 👏

This is not our first time. We have been coming for 2 years now. Every time we come to Chichester, this is our go-to. We have never ever been disappointed. I'm a chef myself of 30 years experience, and I feel like I land in heaven when eating here. Dom, keep doing what you are doing. Love this place. Thank you everyone 💓

Had lunch today with my Son, and it was a tale of two courses. The starters were amazing, my son chicken goujons where the best he has ever had any ham hock was great. That’s where the great food ended. After a particularly long wait, even though the place was empty. The mains arrived. My son’s burger he said was nothing to write home about, my Fish n chips was poor and that’s a generous comment. The fish was thin and meagre, it’s looked substantial but after the batter collapsed it’s was just poor quality fish! The mushy pease were dry and the chips where dry lukewarm at best. I tried it, then left the lot! A waste of £17! So after the long wait for both courses I could not be bothered with complaining as nothing is ever done! So I paid, we left and will vote with our feet!

Great welcoming staff even on a busy Friday night. Lots of gluten free options even on the Italian special menu they had on. All very delicious. The waitress was very helpful and was engaged with our kids.

Perfect! Warm welcome from the barman who found us a space in the restaurant although we hadn't booked. Good beer, excellent pil pil prawns from the specials board! My partner had the Korean chicken burger which she loved. I had the pan fried trout which was cooked perfectly. Staff were all great!

A good pub, we visited for a pre- arranged gathering. The food was fair, though portions were small for the number in the party. The pork and chicken were nice, the salad too plain, but the olives were nice. The rolls were basic, but overall.it was nice. The coffee was good value and the staff worked hard to.look after us all. It was busy, with regular customers, and a party of 30 made them work hard for today's takings. My brother was in a wheelchair and that was hard work, the layout did not suit the chair at all, the toilets were even harder, which is a shame. Overall a nice venue, not suited particularly for limited mobility, the food was fair, otherwise the venue was good.

A disappointment, food for dinner was pretty good but too expensive with tiny portions. Drinks were terrible and poorly mixed, not even the coffee was drinkable. I really wanted to like this place being local but it just isn’t good enough for the prices charged and others locally do it far better. The dining room is not a proper restaurant and noisy, being located too close to the bar. Starters are around £10, mains £20-£30 and puddings £10. Service was good.

We were a party of eight and we were all disappointed with our meals. I had pork belly bites as a starter which had little flavour and a dry tough texture - presumably frozen and from a packet. My main course, Vietnamese curry, was the worst curry I have ever eaten - and curry is my favourite food. I ate the meal, against my better judgement, as I didn’t want to upset the mood. I complained to the waitress but heard no more about it. I paid for it with two days of a badly upset digestive system. I would drink in the pub but strongly avoid consuming any food.

Such a homely pub! Dinner one side and boozing the other. Nice lay out with rustic/modern feels. The staff were all dead nice and very chatty and friendly. Some places are dead and the staff dead inside but these guys were joyous! Food was mega! Bring a touch cos it’s dark as hell outside !

Beautiful interior in a great location. The senior staff were a little stressed and abrasive on the Sunday afternoon we visited, but they found us a table and the waiting staff we lovely. The food was very tasty. We tried most of the bar snacks/small plates as sharing starter, the kids fish and chips was excellent and my older son had a burger from the main menu that was also very good. My wife and I both had roast pork which was very tasty though like the belly pork starter the fat couldnhave been better rendered and skin crisped up. Generally a great experience with a wonderful ambiance both in the bar and separate dining area. We will return, and book - I think we were lucky to get a table walking in between lunch and dinner sittings on a Sunday afternoon.

Excellent food and service, but very noisy

It is a very popular pub especially for walkers. Constant flow of people coming and going. Extremely dog friendly. Friendly staff. Lovely open fire. We didn't eat on this visit.

Had a festive visit to the Anglesea Arms with my husband and Mum and Dad . It's a beautiful country pub local to us . Great service and the food was excellent. We had a lovely time. Looking forward to returning on Boxing day

Beautiful country pub, cosy bar with fireplace and great beer selection. Dining room also brilliant, great menu and wine list and food was superb. Friendly attentive staff. Came with family for a birthday and loved it. Very dog friendly. Recommend the frickles from the snack menu!

We stayed at the Tinwood vineyard and walked down to this local pub. We were so impressed by the service that was provided we needed to leave a review!! The waitress was one of the best we've had in a long time. Her attention to detail and timing whilst we were dining was exceptional. She was a real asset so switched on but not in your face- friendly and have great conversation with. She informed me there will be a delay with my main before I ordered it because it was cooked fresh , the mains and desserts we have were fabulous. Highly recommend this place. We were delighted!

We’ve eaten here on three occasions now, and the food is absolutely next level tasty. The nibbles are almost like Tapas and the pork belly with chilli apple sauce and the pork rillettes are a must try!! See you again soon !

Lunchtime with friends....really varied menu, with both lunch (smaller portions, smaller prices!) and evening food available. Homemade pies & Vietnamese curry recommended and a stunning Romanian Pinot Noir (looked it up at home & only available commercially 😢). Also, it's a great idea to do mini-dessert and coffee for £6, ideal for lunchtimes. Service delightful. We're going back!

Some lovely food and great service. The outdoor area with heater and canopy looked really good. I quite liked the bill being given in an old book, nice touch. Will definitely visit again.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday with our baby and dog. We didn’t book ahead so felt lucky when we were able to get a table. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They offered to bring us a high chair without needing to ask for one. The menu didn’t have much to choose from that was vegan, so we both ordered the vegan roast, with a beer, and ordered from the dog menu too- a dog beer and roast. LOVED that they had a dog menu. Didn’t realise it would be packets of kibble though but it did mean we could take home his leftovers afterwards easily. The vegan roast was so so delicious. We both very much enjoyed it. The veg on the side was okay. There was only one vegan dessert unfortunately which was ice cream, and on a cold rainy day it just wasn’t what we fancied so passed on that. Would be great if they had some more choices for vegans but otherwise what we did order was fantastic! Will definitely come back again!

We had a fantastic time at the Anglesey Arms. We had been for a walk at The Windmill and came across the Anglesey Arms by chance. They had a little Venue going on in the back garden, Selling freshly baked Pizzas , Alcohol and there was music and a place to dance. The weather was beautiful and we met a lot of lovely people.

Really enjoyed sitting in the garden this snmmer. Great food... excellent pub!

We attended a reception at the pub and had a room and part of the garden reserved for the occasion. All of the staff made us feel very welcome, the food and drink certainly met expectations, and the ambience in the pub and the garden facilities were very much appreciated. Certainly worth a visit.

The food was great, but service was slow. We had a booking at nearby Theatre, and thought we had plenty of time, but had to rush at the end of the meal.

Visited last Sunday and had an amazing roast beef. Doing the rounds on local pub roasts and this on is winning atm!

We had a great vegan pizza from the garden bar. Great beer garden.

Really nice impromptu dinner out as a friend was visiting from the US and wanted to take them to a nice pub dinner. Dogs permitted and their own doggie menu won Anglesey Arms over other local venues. Managed to book a table easily on-line and glad we did as even though midweek, was very busy. Staff were very friendly, Jamie gave us a warm welcome from behind the bar as we walked in and showed us to our table, making sure we were sorted with a drink order as soon as we were settled. Food was delicious, good portions and dog enjoyed his dinner with us too! Definitely a place we'll be returning to. 5⭐️

Very fast service, lovely fresh cooked food.

Waitress must have been having an off day. Not particularly welcoming, a little surprised that a surcharge was put on the bill for staff as prefer to decide about the tip myself. Been before for Sunday lunch and a much more welcoming and easy atmosphere. Food OK, but not really worth the bill. Probably give a miss in future.

Lively atmosphere in the bar post Glorious Goodwood, promptly served by the bar staff who very kindly squeezed us into the Dining Room.

Had a load of amazing mixed starters for an impromptu lunch yesterday.. tapas style.. calamari was the best I've ever eaten.. The welcome was wonderful. This is a VERY nice pub.. well worth a visit.

Nice pub, good ales. But the food is shockingly expensive. London prices and some. See pic of the wee salad my wife paid 15 quid for. It would have been better severed with my burger as a garnish, which my wee, but very tasty burger didn't have. One shouldn't stop for a meal and then have to buy crisps when leaving cus your still hungry.

We’ve been to this pub 4 or 5 times after a beach trip and Sam and the team have been unfailingly welcoming of (and brilliant with) kids and dogs. The food is great, reasonably priced and something for everyone - and the garden is fab. Love it ❤️

Staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent, there were four of us visiting and we had very different dishes. Outside dining atmosphere was very peaceful while the inside dining was extremely popular. Photos of the food are not the best the family couldn't wait to tuck in. Do try the Anglesey Arms out for yourself

Most expensive drink I have ever bought, one pint of lager and a medium sized glass of Rosé £16.80 !!! Nothing in the place to substantiate these prices, garden is a mess and interior basic. Will not be returning.

Great pub but the glasses are always dirty. My son was served a shot in a glass that was so dirty and contaminated that he immediately had to run to the toilet to throw up. today I ordered a glass of wine and red bits were floating around, the bar lady simply took the glass and pored it into another one. It was only when I went outside did I notice the dirt inside the second glass. Pint after pint has been swapped in the past. I wish this wasn’t the case as it’s such a nice pub with a lovely garden - just not worth the germs/infection (or being made to feel daft for not wanting to drink out of them)

We went as a big group and everything was lovely and everyone was happy with their meal, only thing I’d say is I had the buttermilk burger and it was really nice but just didn’t seem that specially presented as all the other meals. But overly a really nice pub and really great atmosphere x

Brilliant double family celebration last night - 75th birthday & golden wedding anniversary! Food was great as usual and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this pub. Great location, lovely food and a really welcoming team behind the bar.

First time visiting the pub tonight for a family celebration. Staff were super friendly and welcoming us. The food was fab along with the great service. Anyone in the area and would strongly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back again sometime soon.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Anglesey Arms Caernarfon for one night .The accommodation was dismal , 2 single beds no room to walk ,the kettle on a window ledge dirty glasses , dirty shower wallpaper peeling from the walls , Duvet not clean ,we slept on the top of the beds fully clothed on our towels. Could not wait to leave . The staff at the bar were the only pleasant part helpful. We would have left straight away but pre booked and a long distance from home . Never again . Could have so much potential with a little TLC . Lewis Laidler
