Came here for lunch with my Mum. Firstly one of the cups I received was dirty, this was exchanged for me. The food was poor. We had welsh rarebit this was not the best, I think it had been left in the machine so long all the cheese had melted away. Then we had Banana cheesecake. This was awful no taste to it at all. The only reason I knew it was cheesecake is because that is what it was advertised as. I asked my Mum what flavour she thought it was and she said “not sure but I think Orange” that should give you some idea of what it tasted like. The two pots of tea, one was fine, the other was like slightly coloured water, once the tea had been poured from the “good” tea pot, I transferred the teabag to the second tea pot hoping 2 bags would give it some flavour. Upon opening the teapots I was horrified to see all the chips and cracks in the pot, (both pots) a true breeding ground for germs. Hugely disappointing lunch, and at £28 I think it’s hugely overpriced. Definitely will not be returning.

Came here for our Xmas present of a Afternoon Tea from a friend, staff were lovely , understood our need for social distancing & seated us away from others, Tea was a good selection & scones were fresh and tasty, cannot fault Angelina’s on cleanliness, attentiveness & service, highly recommended!

Visited the Batley cafe today at Mill Village. Me and my sister wanted to treat ourselves to afternoon tea, however we couldn't as we were told you had to pre-book it - but there is no mention of that on the advertisement board at the entrance to the cafe. Apparently for afternoon tea they have to get out the "special cakes" whatever they are! So, we had to have a sandwich, tea and a cake each which came to £19.10, afternoon tea is £10 each. The sandwiches were egg mayo and a BLT. The egg was fine, the bacon was sparse - think they had gone to Dewsbury and chucked it in. The salad garnish was brown at the edges and mostly stem but the dressing was lovely. The Bavarian slice had pastry that was like soggy cardboard, it certainly wasn't fresh today. The strawberry cake was nice. Would I go back? No. The food wasn't that good and they also have lots of cushions on the soft sofa seating; I would have thought that would be a no no in the covid era, all other cafes have done away with them.

Angelina's Tea and Cake Batley branch of Angelina's. Visited the branch in February. At the counter my husband ordered me an egg sandwich and a bottle of fruit juice. He was asked if a glass was needed, he said yes. He brought the drinks back to our table I noticed the glass was filthy, greasy mark's, and smears. When the assistant brought the sandwiches I pointed this out to him. The answer I got was, that's ok, no apology or offer of a replacement. The sandwiches were ok. The lettuce that accompanied it was brown in places and it was mostly stem.

The table not clean as crisp and empty bottle laying . The high chair look need a good wash but my daughter lay on it as she don’t want lay inside the pram. The waiter is helpful though as taking my order to my table because my hand is full! I had bagel and cream cheese which is a value price for £3.99

Went for lunch with a friend whilst browsing the mill stores, menu looked ok but when I went to the counter there didn’t seem to be as many cakes as I expected. I chose the frittata and salad and it came with a disappointingly small slice of frittata for over £6! The salad was nice enough but the frittata should have been a more generous portion in my opinion. In contrast to this my friend had the tuna salad and she was over faced with tuna, it was a generous portion. So to sum up, perhaps I chose the wrong dish? Or perhaps there is no consistency to their servings. Won’t be rushing back, I prefer Hannah’s Tea Rooms on the outside balcony area above the garden centre this place is much nicer. Sorry but I’ll be giving Angelinas a wide berth!

After making various purchases in Mothercare we visited their in-house cafe, Angelina’s, on the first floor. Difficulty finding a table that was not piled with dirty dishes or needing wiped. Asked one of the three staff seen on duty to clear a table. This she did. My daughter then went to find a high chair for my granddaughter. This had to be wiped clean with our own wipes. The floor was not clean and there was bits of food scattered about. The cafe was not busy but non of the staff were seen clearing up or wiping down tables during the time we were in the cafe ( about one hour). I should have complained and I also should have taken photographic evidence. However I have tweeted Mothercare!

This pub has not long ago been taken over from the landlord and lady from the swan in trading. We were meeting family and friends from Newcastle and were very impressed to say the least.Seven adults and one child descended tea time Friday and it was quite busy but we were served promptly.I loved the relaxed atmosphere and spacious surroundings very clean and tables cleared quickly. Our meals were presented nicely and tasted very nice and reasonably priced. Looking forward to our next visit.
