A very reliable fish and chip shop in a pleasant suburb of Chesterfield. The gyros is a welcome addition to a menu to provide extended options - one of the best gyros in Chesterfield.

Very dissatisfied..had large kabab and chips today... I had to open the kabab to find the meat.. if that was supposed to be a large god help the normal..a 4yr old would of ate that and asked for more...and the chips.. yeah american chips...would do they use to cut the chips. A grater....they should show walkers or k.p it....90% of it was like crisps......any way ate it...off for a kabab else where now..

Just went in and got small cod and regular chips and let me tell you £4.70 for a bit of cod just a bit bigger than the fish bites and a tray with a few chips for £2.70 what a absolute rip of and when you say anything they just look at you and say that what it is

Fat friday is a must at andys. Served by Chris P Batter. Hot delicious food and all 10 meals were correct. Fully recommend 👌 x

Cod was nice, chips not so good, must have got the last bits.

Food is generally good. Howeverif yo have gravy and have your food open. Beware, not all the gravy goes on the food.

This is a halloumi pitta with chilli jam which we received in a delivery tonight. It has always been filled with Salad etc but this was a joke. When phoned to complain no offer of refund or offer to rectify the issue was offered just told this is the way it is. £5.70 for a pitta some jam and two tiny pieces of halloumi your a joke...........

We were broken down on the side of the A road near Andy’s. I called up explained the situation and Ruby managed to get our location and sent a delivery driver to us with fresh hot chips. Unbelievable service

Worst fish I’ve eaten for a long time. Really thick batter and the whole thing just tasted of grease

Horrific!! Doors not open at 4:30 as stated on website left waiting outside in the rain... Then for them to miss the fish out of the fish and chips from my order and have the cheek to blame me when I called to give them chance to correct it. Utterly poor customer service they offered to deliver but at an additional cost just to add insult to injury.

The food in general is nice however the proportion sizes are small for the cost. If your going to order go into the shop don’t bother with delivery we’ve found it the prices are more expensive online than Instore and Instore you get more choice of meal deals for cheaper price, We ordered last night and a tray of chicken meat came and it cost us £7 and it was half full and it’s a £1:50 extra charge for salad and sauce is which madness. So unsure if we will order here again.

Rang up to order a delivery. Young lady answered and said "give me 30 seconds" She left me on the phone 10 minutes in which time there was shouting and laughter going on. I hung up and tried again for 10 minutes but the phone was engaged.... Obviously forgot about me... Have used Andis for a long time and never had this before....

Use to love Andy's but think it must have been taken over last few years as taken a massive decline. Expect to pay 4 quid for a large chips that comes in a cardboard box that's only half full and a tiny portion. They should ditch the box and go back to wrapping in paper. I do feel the box is to pass it off that your chip portion is larger than it is. Not a one off as returned several times thinking the last time must be an error and had been given small chips. Clearly not and they just give small portions. I would hate to see a regular size . Must be microscopic. Rip off compared to other chippies which I will now use.

Great food, gyros is beautiful, pie and chips bang on 👌🏼 came in 15 minutes!

Wouldn't recommend this fish and chip shop, I ordered 2 kebab meals and 2 large peas. They only sent 1 peas and the chips and Donner meat were burnt and dry. Drowned in sauce too which made us feel sick so most of it went in the bin. Won't be going here again which is a shame as it's our usual place to go. Feel like I have just thrown my money away.

Sadly wrong side of Chesterfield for us to use regularly. The service was prompt and the staff very polite and the food was of a high standard.

Drove passed and fancied some fish and chips. which was really nice. I did notice they also probe things like chicken nuggets etc to make sure they are cooked properly. nice to see the staff taking care

Went here and told there would be a three minute wait ,ordered large fish and large chips about £11 ish so waited for five min then saw girl behind counter put chips and peas onto cold counter ,then another server said fish would be Two minutes ,three mins later and got food went home to lukewarm chips and peas and hot fish . Surely you should serve the food all up together ?

Been having food from here for a while and yet it has never disappointed. Friendly and caring staff who work extremely hard at their job, the food is amazing however costs slightly a bit more than your average chippy however I will say that you are paying for brilliant quality. Would 100% recommend their burgers or true taste of Greece and Cyprus meals.

Ordered online, they took my money and cancelled my order. Rang and asked if I could go round and fetch it as they had took my money and they said it was fine, once I got there they asked me to pay again. Didn’t get the money back. Absolutely disgusting behaviour wouldn’t recommend anyone going there unless you wanna pay for something your not gonna get.

Phone for a delivery and was told we were too far away at Tupton yeah we’ve had deliveries before from them very sarcastic staff run by kids

Had a kebab and fishcake and chips. The kebab and the chips were very nice, the fishcake was tasteless and the lady who served us was not very friendly. Times are hard, it costs nothing to smile 😊

For the price you pay for a portion of chips £2 you expect better quality chips. Won’t use again

That elusive chip shop that sells a small portion of chips where you don't end up throwing half of them away, is no longer a myth. Add to that a piece of freshly cooked fish, where the fish is moist and not greasy and the batter is crisp. The only downside is that it was packed into a small plastic bag, which causes the fish and the chips to sweat. A paper bag would be much better and more environmentally friendly.

Meat found in the beans. Chips and fries cooked in the same oil as the sausages. NOTHING on the website about it not being vegetarian or vegan.

Andys has great quality food, it's always very fresh and you can tell there is a lot of care that goes into the business. The staff are lovely, and very professional. I personally recommend the chicken kebab, however the fish and chips are also fantastic.

I went Saturday evening for a customer made Indian themed night fir my sisters birthday. Was a lovely change and cheap as chips. Service was good the food came out quick and hot, and there was more than enough to feed the five thousand. They are amazingly acomidating to everyones diatry needs and life choices. The veggi curry was yum, the hot chicken curry was very tasty, the samosas where very nice I could've eaten more of them, the bobay potatoes was tasty though slightly greasy, the homemade mango chuckney and pickle was spot on. The cheesecake was gorgeous and some of the other desserts was also tasty. Now I'm not going to lie there was the odd problem last night like the lamb in the rogan josh was dissaponting though the sauce was very tasty, the poppadoms where greasy, the nann bread was over cooked, the tikka wasn't tikka and the cookies where far to dry but that's the only bad bits. Considering they have never made some of these dishes before then hats off to them. I'd go again for a night they put on themselves not what they had chosen by us custom for us.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Chrisanthia at Andy's Fish Bar & Bistro Chesterfield for a brilliant event that they hosted on Saturday evening. Right from the start of booking this even they have been wonderful, helpful and more than accommodating. This event was booked for a friends birthday and as her favourite food is Indian we decided this should be the theme for the evening. There were a few within the group who had specific dietary requirements (citrus allergy, vegetarian and diary intolerant) so Chrisanthia catered to all of these needs without even batting an eyelid. All of the food that was made was made from scratch (with the requirements in mind) and there was plenty enough food and choice (you will never go away from here hungry) The food came out quickly and kept coming.....the food was all piping and plentiful. The starters were amazing (samosas especially!) I was very full after the starters, but I did have some of the vegetarian dish (Chana Masala) which was amazing. The birthday girl had a wonderful night and enjoyed it, which is all that matters. I have been to this bistro on a couple of occasions and nothing is every an issue for Chrisanthia, she always adds that personal touch. When I leave I always feel like I have been for a meal with friends/family rather than just a meal at the restaurant. I cannot rate you guys highly enough!!

Been last night for the Indian night. What a load of rammel. Please don't ever try and cook curry again for the sake of mankind. Never wasted so much food. Everything was as dry as ghandis flip flop. Just awful.

I have visited this place twice, both times they were rude. It seems they shut half an hour before their closing time and before closing the door. I will go past it in future to a chipshop who wants to sell chips!

Delicious, high quality takeaway food. I highly recommend. They still seem to be getting to grips with their new bistro feature but I am sure this will eventually become extremely popular with both locals and visitors.

Hi we brought 2 kebab meals which state's with salad but all we got was abit of lettuce and cabbage there was no tomatoes no cucumber no onions the chips was hard and dry on all meals we had last Friday to be fair was a waste of money this place has gone down hill as a few months ago we went here and food was good we don't know what happened to the place chips I wouldn't give to a homeless person they was disgusting hard not fresh very disappointed.

Cannot fault this place. The staff are always very friendly and they serve the best chips around. We travel around 8 miles to get them because they are the best.
