Fish freshly cooked and lovely but chips were dry and not very hot looked like they were the left overs from lunchtime or yesterday.

Yummy grub. We finally got round to trying it after passing it on the bus for years. We'll be back very soon indeed.

Service very slow. There was 6 members of staff on and plenty of food ready yet still took over 10 mins to serve me and 2 other people people (staff kept disappearing off or to busy chatting). Shame because the food itself was very nice (the cod was particularly Good) and not too expensive

Andys Fish Bar first timers!! It DEFINITELY won't be the last! Good sized portions, we had freshly fried Haddock and chips. We'll worth the wait. Crispy light batter, plenty of chips served by a very cheerful and well organised crew. Just wish it was closer to home!

Travel from beeston to Andy's fish bar. Their fish is wonderful always and so is everything else. Lovely shop staff always helpful and cheerful. Stay as u are always.

Bad food at expensive prices I won't be going back

I've been going to Andy's for years, used to go as a little girl with my Dad and since have taken my son, he always got a few chips on a fork. We visited the other night and it was as good as ever, best fish and chips around.

Decent portions and one of the few chippies left that serves it's portions in paper and not those stupid boxes. Edited to say that now has an online app and the food is first class. Very generous portions.

Cleanliness and quality of food is excellent. Parking can be a little difficult but still worth the effort.

We thought they were excellent. It was the first time we have tried them. We ordered via their app for home delivery. There was a £5 charge for the delivery to Chilwell (by taxi), but to be fair, it was well worth it, as it is rare to find a fish and chip shop who'll deliver to your home. I was sent a link as part of the service, which allowed me to track the order, virtually to the minute it arrived, bang on time. We thought the food was superb. It arrived hot. The fish was plentiful, beautifully battered and fresh. The chips were full of flavour and really well cooked. Portions were also very generous. Their app is also very easy to use and generally very well designed. Unlike a nearby rival to us, everything they sell is listed individually, making ordering much more comprehensive and straightforward. We will certainly be using Andy's Fish Bar again. A very well deserved five stars for them.

I have lived in Nottingham for over 30 years and tried lots of fish and chip shops, some good, some bad, some indifferent. So, when I moved to the Stapleford end of town I just had to try Andy's Fish Bar.I'm certainly glad I did. The haddock and chips I was served with was by far the best I have had anywhere in the Nottingham area and held it's own with some of the best I've had anywhere in the country.The fish was fresh, white and flaky and perfectly fried. The chips were golden and crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.Staff were very friendly and service excellent. The shop is bright and welcoming with good social distancing at this challenging time.Definitely the best fish and chips in Nottingham and beyond.Well done to all!Highly recommended.

Bloody beautiful fish and chips

I've lived in Nottingham for many years and tried many fish and chip shops, some good, some bad, some indifferent. So when I moved to the Stapleford side of town I decided to check out Andy's Fish Bar. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Judging by the fresh, white, flakey, meaty haddock and the perfectly fried chips I was served with, this place is the best I've found in Nottingham and ranks with the finest I've found elsewhere in the country too! The shop is bright and welcoming and the staff cheery and friendly. I'll definitely be returning.....probably more often than is good for my waistline! Highly recommended.

Very friendly establishment serving superb fish and chips (excellent haddock) and reasonably priced.

I will say this is a nice chips shop, the staff are ever so nice . But Last week the chips have become mushy and sickly tasting. The fish cakes also are mushy so im afraid to say at the moment i am not satisfied. I have had to throw most of it away as it didnt taste right. Please look into this. I will then give u a higher review. 😊

Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had!

All through my childhood in neighbouring Bramcote, everyone used to say Andy's Fish Bar was the only place to go for fish and chips! We never went however - opting for Jade Garden on Bramcote Lane (on the grounds that it was a 5 minute walk from home) and following that my life has moved me all over the place and so it wasn't until my 30's that I have actually had the chance to visit Andy's.I should have gone for the traditional option of fish and chips - whack a bit of curry sauce on there and you're laughing, but for some reason we decided to phone through an order of cheeseburgers! I do not know what possessed us.Its called a fish bar for a reason. They have very deliberately not called it a cheeseburger bar. And yet there I was, stood in Andy's Fish Bar watching them conspire to get a cheeseburger wrong for about 20 minutes. The ultimate sin in any cheeseburger is not melting the cheese - they committed this cardinal sin. They betrayed cheeseburger fans the world over.I told them there was no way I could eat it with unmelted cheese (unmelted cheese is the product of Satan) and so they got to work trying to melt it after it had been applied to the burger. It was a pitiful sight. They may as well have been stood around it with cigarette lighters. Eventually, after what seemed like 14 years, the cheese looked just about melted enough to be able to eat. I took the burgers back to the flat and we tucked in. It wasn't actually that bad. It was pretty decent in fact. But please guys - if you are going to do a cheeseburger, for the love of all that is holy, sacred and precious - melt the damn cheese in the first place! It isn't a garden party - its a fast food order - melt the cheese!!!Other than that the accompanying chips were decent. Not Cods Scallops standard, but then so few things are.I definitely want to, and will, return to Andy's because I know they are decent. Their cheeseburgers belie their quality. I will be returning for fish and chips at some point soon - I am sure!
