A lovely pub for pints, but not very good for food when Charlton is playing. The food looks amazing, but unfortunately took too long. Hopefully next time the queues won’t be so bad.

Appalling service, and untrustworthy manager and restaurant staff. If you make a complaint they completely ignore you and never keep their promises. Take your money elsewhere. Pretty sure they have taken my previous review down so will just have to keep re-posting.

Such a find! Stumbled across this gem in June 24 and it was packed, outside street food was amazing and entertainment was great. Returned in September and the Roast did not disappoint one of the best roasts in a long time. The chef was so lovely too he came out to check on us. Top service!

Only called in after the match for a quick pint. £7 for 1 pint of Hazy Dazy! Very slow service. The thing that makes this pub worth a visit are the views from the beer garden slap bang on the Thames. Other than that it's pretty average

The Sunday roast at Anchor & Hope is great. We’ve had it a few times, and it’s always spot on. The lamb roast, in particular, is delicious. The pub itself has a relaxed vibe, with river views and a nice outdoor terrace.

Always lively down here on a summer day. Can sit by the river. Pub is the best in the area. Classic old pub look inside, reasonable selection on tap. Got TV for sports, jukebox too. Sitting outside in the beer garden by the river is best though.

Nice location and decent ambiance, but the food is skippable. When the sun is shining or even at sunset the location by the river is great for a quick pint or a sit down with friends. The pint selection is limited but popular choices like Moretti, Guinness are available even the Beavertown Neck Oil (which had sadly run out).

Use this pub prior to watching Oxford away to Charlton. Not the biggest pub in the world so filled up quickly but we had a really good couple of hours. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat but the food that was coming out around us looked simple but good and plentiful. I was happy that Aspalls was on tap and very surprised at the price of £5.50 a pint which isn't too bad for that part of London. Defo go back next time Oxford play Charlton.

One of my favourite pubs. I went in the afternoon and sat outside next to the river. It was so peaceful. The food was amazing. Even though I got a pie it turned out to be an abstract version of a pie where you had the ingredients separately on the plate (the beef in a metallic container, the peas, mashed potatoes and pudding separately) and it was so tasty! My friend got a Thai dish and it was stunning. That’s the other thing. This pub apart from traditional food such as fish and chips etc, also offers Thai dishes and they are a 10/10! Below I’m attaching a picture of my favourite corner inside the pub. I would recommend this place 100%

Came to this friendly riverside pub near the Thames Barrier for second helpings after I had their red Thai curry (£11.95) a while back. It's still on the menu but there was none left. The chef is called Spring and he told me they were making some more. I wasn't in a hurry so I asked if I could wait. He laughed and said, "It takes 3-4 hours to make that". That tells you a lot about the care that is taken in the kitchen where everything is cooked from scratch. Normally I would be wary of a pub menu that flits from Thailand to India by way of Italy as well as the usual burger, gammon and triple cooked chips and steak and ale pie. But the Indian chicken Madras curry I had instead of the red Thai Curry was fantastic. Spring - who is from the Nepali community - opens the kitchen from 12 noon - 8pm seven days a week. It's always looked pretty busy on a Sunday when they do roast dinners - so maybe book ahead if you plan a pitstop here during a walk along the river. The interior is cool and dark and there's a beer terrace with spectacular River views. The Hope & Anchor benefits from being off the beaten track of tourist-swamped Greenwich. Beer is good too!

Visited here for the first time on Tuesday as was to early for an appointment . Received a warm welcome and enjoyed a fresh well cooked cheese omelette , no problems swapping chips for fresh tomatoes . Cafe is light , airy and spotlessly clean as were the toilets . Will return to try other items on the extensive menu.

The food was quite good overall, but I had specifically requested to have the coriander removed. Unfortunately, I could still taste it in the spring roll. When I mentioned this to the staff, he insisted that there was no coriander in it.
