Yesterday we had the most delicious take away Sunday roast from Ambers Cafe. Everything was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Two courses for £10. This is traditional cooking at its best. Thank you both for a wonderful lunch.

Having missed last years I decided to book for the buffet this Boxing Day2019 and I am so glad I did. The food was home cooked but also so interesting with a huge selection of fish and cold meats, followed by hot food including stroganoff and chili con carne and finally home made puddings and a large cheese board. It was a wonderful atmosphere where diners chatted to each other and served themselves overlooked by helpful owners, meeting every need. I can see this will be a yearly treat but of course we already visit throughout the year for the home cooked breakfasts and outstanding home made soups and snacks.

I love my coffee and the Americano at Ambers has to be one of the best Ive ever had. The flavour has depth and strength but not to over powering I had to have 2 and at only £1.50 its a bargain. I also had the Farmers breakfast which was suberb again has to be one of the best breakfasts ive had. I happened to be working locally and looked on trip advisor and read the previous reviews so I was convinced by the great reviews to visit. I live over an hour away but will be back for sure.

I was shopping in town and fancied a bite to eat. I popped into Ambers and ordered a full english breakfast.Everything was cooked fresh, with options of brown or white bread. When my plateful arrived, everything was cooked perfectly and with the right portion sizes.Will deffo visit again.

The owners are absolutely lovely. So welcoming and supportive of the locals. Babies/children are welcome - they've just opened a baby/toddler play room right next to the café on a trial basis. It means that children can play with the toys whilst their parents enjoy their meal and drinks in peace, knowing the children can't run out of the front door in to the street. The homemade cakes are absolutely scrumptious. There's always a great range on offer and it's all at affordable prices too. I'd recommend the homemade fruit scones with jam and cream - £1! And the freshly made sandwiches are even better! Yum!They do a loyalty card, too. Every time you buy a coffee/tea you get a stamp and your 7th coffee is free.This is such a wonderful addition to the town. USE IT OR LOSE IT. It's well worth a visit for lunch. Highly recommended!
