Great little takeaway clean and tidy l think they do deliver but you would have to check and remember they only take cash

The food was averagely priced but my King Prawn Chow Mein could have done with a bit of seasoning.

The chow-mein was mouth wateringly delicious and the flavour just popped in my mouth, absolutely banging if I do say so myself, the service was brilliant and I got my food in 20 minutes instead of the expected 45 and ended up getting complementary prawn crackers by the boatload. Very scrumptious and I would recommend 🤤

Very high quality Chinese food - prices are fair and prepared efficiently

Used to be a regular eatery here many years ago. But found out last order a little disappointing. Food was very grissly and chewy although some nice touches. Thing that let the side down was the lack of option for card payment. Baring in mind we ordered with no menu we were not advised of this. Having had to take a walk up the road to the nearest convenience store, our meal cost a little extra due to cashpoint charges. Kinda took the edge off it. Not the fault of the restaurant but could have been avoided if card payments could be made or atleast make phone orders aware of this. Sorry guys.

Appalling, waited 30 mi no Ute's after initial 45 minutes they stated, batter on pork balls burnt, paid for seaweed but didn't get any. Food only just warm. Definately the worse Chinese meal I have had

Appaling, food was barely warm, part of order was missing. Was told our order would be ready in 45 minutes ended up waiting for over 90 minutes. One guy had ordered his food at 5pm and didn't get it until 7.30. I know it's Saturday night and it was busy but people were standing around in the shop not knowing what was going on and they were still taking phone orders and telling them 45 minutes despite having a shop full of people. It wouldn't have been so bad if the food had been nice but it wasnt.

Restaurant was closed even though online and signage says it should be open. Waste of a journey

I've been using this Chinese for 20 years plus and never had a bad experience. Their food is great. Open kitchen, cooked in front of you, usually very swiftly although can get busier on Friday and Saturdays understandably. If I'm in the vicinity I wouldn't consider using any other Chinese period. Great food. Great taste. Highly recommended.

If I could have given a minus score I would have. 2 items were wrong and the rest was disgusting so we ended up throwing £42 worth of food away. Avoid like the plague

Really good Chinese meal. Every dish was very delicious the lemon chicken is excellent not smothered in gluey sauce just a very small amount of clear lemon sauce which we found perfect same goes for the crispy chilli beef . Staff are very friendly and meal was ready for collection when they said it would be. Definitely going to use them as our first choice.

Great local Chinese takeaway, does exactly what it says. Cash only payment (still) is a pain, especially in these strange times when lots of people now use card for everything.

I have only given 1 star as that was least I could give ! I phoned about a job vacancy for taking orders for this Chinese to be told I was too old ! They are obviously wanting younger people so they can pay less ! I'm a hard working enthusiastic person looking for a part time job .I have worked hard all my life to be told I am too old now ! Well I am not and I have the experience of life so I hope you find someone who you can rely on to turn up for work and who to work !

Old owners used to put more meat in there food also special fried rice does not have much in it but food is still very nice

Mmmmmm! You know when a place is so tasty it doesn't even need to do delivery and is pretty isolated too! Wow though! Genuinely nothing about this place is horrible. Open kitchen, very clean, very friendly and the food is just soooooo good! The pancake rolls are stuffed with meat too, not just veg like they all seem to do now. The noodles were the right texture, not soggy or hard and the rice is as fluffy as it comes! The crispy duck wasn't very crispy but to be honest I like it like that so good for me lol. Chicken balls are juicy, the soups are packed rather than a bowl of water. I just loved every bit of it! The meat fell off the rib as I picked it up off my plate it was that tender. Genuinely by far the best Chinese I ever remember having. Nothing else around even comes close to it. My only disappointment is that they don't deliver, but hey no where is perfect lol

Very nice staff and quick at cooking food, food is filling with lots of flavour. The staff loves to think about hygiene, which shows the food is being cooked with care. I highly recommend.

Absolutely disgusting service, we were told our food would be ready in 30 mins and it took them an hour. We were not even offered a sincere apology, I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy

The food is amazing, I can highly recommend the sale chilli chicken. The place is super clean with an open view of the kitchen, sometimes there is a wait, but that is because the place is so popular, that alone must mean something.

As many on here have said, this is the best Chinese takeaway in the Clacton area. The food is lovely with a good vegetarian selection available, the staff are very friendly and the place is lovely and clean (open plan so you can see the food being cooked and prepared).

We think it's the best Chinese around here have tried overs but prefer Amber.

The Hot & Sour Soup is a Work of Art... The food here is quite frankly excellent. The Amber is an inconspicuous little Hole in the Wall take-away. It's squeaky clean, and the kitchen is open-plan, so you can watch the chefs working their magic. Service is friendly, and prices are more than fair for the quality you're getting. Pro-Tip: Unlike a lot of other Chinese takeaways in the area, this place cooks everything fresh, to order. It also gets crazy-busy, so you can expect to wait at peak times. Instead of whining about this waiting time, appreciate it for what it is... the time required to prepare quality food in large quantities.

Very good nice food and friendly welcome

Food is always good but I ordered on Christmas Eve which is a busy time and I understand that so I called and ordered they said it would be ready in 1 hour and I went down there just after the hour and waited another 40 minutes wouldn't have minded if they told me the right time but seemed to be serving people they knew first instead of the way they were ordered. Been here many of times and this was the worst time.

Dreadful experience. They do not take cards, only cash. It's 2016 come on. I ordered 25 minutes ahead purposely after a long journey to arrive and find out my food isn't cooked. Then I get home to find out I definitely haven't got sweet and sour chicken which was the last straw.

Stayed at Highfield Grange holiday park and found this takeaway via my galaxy s3..so glad we did...we had a fixed meal for two for just over 16 pounds....well worth the money and delicious!!! We frequently go to clacton...this will be a tasty meal for another night!!! Looking forward to it!!!!
