Amaro Italian Restaurant in Kirklees

Passing through Mirfield on the navigation on a Saturday, couldn't be bothered to cook so sought out something a little more upmarket than the pub's burgers. This restaurant is around 3/4 mile out of town and at first sight situated in a less than ideal location, next to an industrial/trading estate. But once through the doors, a warm welcome - the proprietor juggled tables to make room for the three of us (around 1800) on what was otherwise a fully booked evening. We all opted for the salmon special on a bed of spinach, veg or salad side dish included at £19.50. Fish precisely cooked - big tick! The usual range of Italian puddings, and none the worse for that as they were very well done. Went off-piste with the wine, a NZ sauvignon blanc (at £28), in order to get a drier mouthful than the house white. So, around £108, before tip, for the three of us - acceptable for food and wine of this standard. Would return (with a booking!) if in the area again.

Great tasting wood fired Pizza! Relaxed atmosphere, reasonable price. Daniele the manager has excellent customer service skills and will do everything to make sure the customer is 100% happy. Our favourite pizza place.

Just to let everyone know they are not doing pizzas anymore. Have been calling them to order pizza and they are blaming the machine not working since two weeks and they have been waiting for someone to fix it!😂

The most amazingly kind people. My nieces were spoiled rotten, they were given so many gifts and treated like vips. The food was great, and as someone with a lot of food intolerances they catered to my needs perfectly. The wine was great too. Would highly recommended.
