Having just watched Bargain Brits by the sea and specifically the ice cream parlour, we had to visit Alzonis and sample the wares. We had the mango and passion fruit twist and strawberry twist. Delicious, huge and great value. Plus the girls serving at the counter are lovely. Sat at the tables outside in the sun and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Altamente recomendado.

No trip to Scarborough would be complete without a milk shake floater at harbour bar. Delicious ice-creams and sundaes available, its like stepping back in time.

We managed to get a table outside to have a soft drink and then bought an ice-cream from the takeaway. The inside cafe was interestingly retro and immaculately clean. Outside is a sun spot and a great place to watch the world go by. The ice cream is very good quality and they have a great variety. I had a double 99, which was lovely. If you go to Scarborough this is THE place for ice-cream.

Popped in at lunchtime on Friday 20th June around 1pm. ordered fish n chips and fishcakes and chips just to try our first Scarborough fayre of a mini-break. Better than greasy café, though with the waitresses kids and the granddad in tow, it was clearly a family owned business. Not sure it was the place to have the kids, but needs must. Good food, well cooked, and piping hot. Reasonably priced for the food, but extortionate for our two fresh orange juices at £1.50 each, which were clearly not "fresh" orange juice. Overall, worth a visit for a clean, hot, and quite tasty meal. Just a tad expensive about the orange juice which was carton/bottled material.

Having had a meal in another restaurant, visited Alzoni's Harbour Bar later for a dessert. A delicious Lime Milk Shake Float with their home made ice-cream drooped in the top. Fantastic! We always visit whenever in Scarborough, rain or shine. In fact it's worth a visit in when it is raining just for the milk shakes or sundaes. They also have a good selection of hot sandwiches which I've had on previous visits. Their chicken sandwich is brilliant.

These ice creams are just gorgeous and reasonably priced. A must when on the sea front. It's a good job I don't live close enough or I would have to have one every day!

We booked a table as this was a highly rated place for a roast dinner near Scarborough. I had called ahead and enquired about vegetarian roast dinner options for my girlfriend. On the phone I was assured there were multiple options and although this technically was the case, neither were necessarily the best accompaniments for a roast (stuffed pepper and stuffed pasta). The service was great and we had a lovely table in a corner and the atmosphere was cozy and great. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed peppers with a roast. The food came relatively quickly. The selection of vegetables was nice and was a welcomed change to have red cabbage and cheesy leeks although they would have been a bit more generous with the portion size as it was to share between the 2 of us. It would have also been nice to have some optional extras on the menu like a portion of cauliflower cheese. The roast dinner also only came with 2 roast potatoes which were really big but would have preferred 3 or 4 smaller ones. It came with a jug of gravy however it was meat gravy and there was not a vegetarian alternative but luckily my girlfriends stuffed peppers were quite saucy so her dinner wasn't dry. My beef was nice however it was slightly chewy and could have been hotter coming out and was only kept warm by hot gravy. Bit of an irrelevant side note but the loos were really nice! Everything else was really lovely and we did have a nice meal and I appreciate it is a small country pub in Scarborough but if you advertise as vegetarian friendly then I think it needs to follow through fully - for example being advised they don't have a veggie gravy upon ordering the dinner or even having a veggie alternative. I'm sorry to be negative, especially when we did have such a lovely time (hence the 4 stars) bu my girlfriend has been vegetarian for 5 years and situations like these feel very frustrating and easily avoidable if staff are more aware and informed.

Amazing quality 5 star's for the exlarge haddock. It's my once a week treat and oh how I look forward to it. I would like the add that the service is gold star and the staff are amazing and very welcoming and really can't do enough. The owner is the Friyer and he really knows his stuff and this comes from a friyer in Leeds. Now retired in Scarborough. If you're lucky enough to find this chippy you won't be disappointed.
