Alwaha in Bristol, City of

I ordered 2 item lamb biriany and zarda. They game me only lamb biriany and zarda was missing. They didn’t give me any other complementary sweet dish as well instead of missing sweet dish or should have inform me what happened with missing item.

They really need to work on hygiene and cleaning

Discusting dirty place. I got a pizza from them and took one bite out it and noticed mould on the base so I turned pizza over and the base was covered in blue mould. Pure disgusting

I ordered from them yesterday which was Aloo Keema and Naan. Naan was half eaten and Aloo Keema was exactly a third glass. 0% recommended

I ordered some food on Uber eats from here . I had ordered a bolognaise pizza , chips and chicken tikka with naan . Half of the order came which was the pizza and chip but they gave me a raw masala fish. When I called them and said they gave me a raw masala fish. They delivered my chicken tikka with naan half an hour after the pizza and chips came . The pizza was not edible and tasted like curry and they chips were stale

This place used to be very beautiful and clean, but now it has turned into a dirty and ugly place. The person behind the counter looks very unsanitary, and there is no regard for cleanliness. The standards of this place are very low. I bought food from this place, and after only a few hours I had severe diarrhea. The current owners are only interested in making money, and don't care about what the customers think. They are very carefree. The previous owners always cleaned the tables and paid special attention to the cleanliness of the place, but these people don't clean anything. This place is so dirty now that I wonder how it hasn't closed down yet. It seems that Bristol Trading Standards are either not working at all, or are failing at their job, because they don't care about such a dirty place. This place is very bad. Never go there!

Best Masala Fish around, just don't forget to ask for a napkin! It's a messy but delicious meal. Good price too

One of the best food takeaway I have had everything on the menu. I have been there so many times staff are amazing and the food always is delicious the shawarma the Currys grilled chicken chips hummus chilli pizza everything is quality and very tasty . The shop is very small the menu is big but quality , Highly recommend !!

I ordered a pizza and a lamb doner kebab for dinner tonight. What a disappointment. The meat in a kebab was cold and there was literally 3 strings of it. I think it was the smallest kebab I've ever had. Pizza wouldn't be that bad, except the vegetables on it were raw. Not impressed and unfortunately won't be coming back.

I have visited this place numerous times and have dined in for dinner. I've tried their pizza, chicken biryani, shish kebab, chicken curry, and many other dishes. My friend ordered chicken, rice, chips, lentils, plain nan and salad takeaway. My friend & I are each seemly experiencing mild food poisoning from eating the chicken, lentils, rice, chips (nan bread both ate a little and fine also salad was safe as one of us ate this, not both of us) from this takeaway. Side note, lentils and chicken dishes too spicy aka hot chillies especially when asked for mild versions which can be done & reassured it would mild.

Undoubtedly the best pulao in Bristol. There, I have said it. Been going there to get my pulao fix for a few years. I got them to cater for a family event full of discerning old-Lahore people recently and the great taste is still talked about months later. They served me with a smile and brought the delivery to my far off village house too. Keep it up guys 👍☺️

Falafel was really dry and over cooked. Naan was nice and soft. Staff were friendly. Chips were meh. Wouldn’t go again.

I don't know what's happened to Alwaha it used to be incredible. The last two orders I have gotten from them have been terrible: 1st order: Incorrect food items, and was told it is what it is 2nd order: Pizza tasted cheap and disgusting and the shawarma was overcooked and stale. I had asked for the sauce and salad separate which was not fulfilled. Unfortunately I won't be ordering from Alwaha anymore as the 2nd order was giving them a second chance.

Found out about this place when my mate sent me to get him a large kebab (£6!). Today I got two chicken burger meals for only £9. Big burger, chips (one portion of cheesy chips with lots of cheese and they even put a bit of cheese on for free on my plain chips), salad, sauces, drink. Burger by itself is £3. The food is delicious, portions generous and prices are the sort that I miss seeing everywhere. This is the only takeaway I know of with prices still that good! I will be going regularly. They have a very large menu and are open late. Very much recommended

Man serving was super unfriendly. Lamb kebabs tiny and dry. Chicken wings not too bad. The guy serving said the prices on the wall aren't right then tried to charge £6 for pilau rice. I won't be going back. Desi Dera is so much better than this place.

Ordered chicken shish and chicken donner large, came back find my kebab was lamb donner and kofta. Went back to change it, came back to find they just added crispy ends of chicken donner on top of initial order totally ignoring my request of chicken shish. Portion was small for a large and meat did not taste fresh. Didn't bother going back to change and will avoid in future.

Those boys sorted me out. Came in at midnight and they gave me rice and some sag aloo for 3 quid and warmed it up for me ready. I'm full, I'm content, and it was delicious. I'll be back there every late night walk home from a gig

Ordered 2 Bolognese pizzas, both had burnt mince throughout and they also add extra mince on top no cheese so that's burnt also. Their response was it was well cooked. Avoid wasting your money and risking your health

I've waited to review until I've tried several times. It all depends who takes the order but, rice is always very dry, curry has 2 pieces of meat and a litre of liquid, always have to ask for the naan bread, although is listed as part of the menu... If you want good food with no problems, go to "Hot Spot" in Stapleton. Good food and a smile every time.

Cold lamb donner the staff told me they rewarm the old donner in the pizza machine. Nothing is fresh, definitely zero hygiene The staff took the call and admitted it's not fresh, you should have given me fresh to start with not offer me to return for fresh! What is the sense in that? Never returning end off, so many bad reviews below not surprised

Hands down, THE best lamb pilau - only disappoints when they run out of IT! I come here at least twice a week for this. Be prepared though, as they only accept cash here.

Food is great when it’s just been cooked fresh can’t say anything bad about it but at times you can go in and you can tell it’s not freshly cooked so not as good. Overall tho the food is nice here. The only thing that’s wrong is the restaurant itself is dirty. If you look at the food through the glass in front of shop you can clearly see the glass and around it needs cleaning. It has green mould which I’m sure could be contaminating the food. Good food but not so clean restaurant is how I’d sum it up

FOOD SAFETY RISK - BUG IN CHICKEN BIRYANI I was eating the biryani and found a bug halfway done. I was completely disgusted as I've always loved eating their biryanis there but I will NEVER order from here again after seeing what I saw. I attached some photos of the bug - its wings, legs and WHOLE body was still attached. I can't stop vomiting!!!! I am so so disgusted!

Our order came short of our drinks. We told them and they told us you will have yiur drinks tomorrow!! As the driver cannot come back for only bottles of coke and Fanta. Also, The restaurant is going downhill massively, so be aware the taste is not what it once was.

My experience with this restaurant is quite good. Because there was a good amount which is not too much to give me a painful tummy. Only problem was it tasted a bit hard on my teeth, everything else is nice.

Delicious, honest food at very reasonable prices

Got to know about this restaurant from the cab driver(from Pakistan) who suggested us this as I asked him for best Pakistani/Afghani dish around Bristol for a typical Afghani dish. So I went with a bunch of friends(7 in total) to this shop which is just 2 mins from Bristol sweet Mart(BSM). And we ordered the following 1. Full chicken tandoori(which came with fries, mayo, chilli sauce, hummus) 2. Chicken tikkA 3. sheesh kebab 4. Chicken jalfrezi (2) 5. Chicken dry masala 6. Chicken biryani 7. Garlic and plain naan(6&4 respectively) 8. Channa bhaji 9. Pepsi 2litres Pros: The service was friendly. One of our friend was fasting and they gave him dates and juices(a jar full). Every single dish tasted good in its own way. They arrived quite fast and together The prices was so affordable and quantity was so filling. All the above costed us just 58£ which is brilliant to get in UK. Wide ranges of dishes compared to the other shops like kebabs, pizzas ( check my pics guy the menus) Cons: I actually wanted to give five star for this takeaway (for the lovely , friendly people and fantastic prices) but had to settle with 4 for the below reasons 1. Items are not prepared freshly after the order rather they are prepared a while before. 2. No toilets or hand wash 3. No table service hence you will have to ask for everything from tissue to plates or food by going to the counter. Having said all these, I wouldn't mind going there again as it is absolute worth going even with these cons. So would recommend to go there atleast once if you love Pakistani/ Afghani dishes.

*AVOID AVOID AVOID* 3hrs 18 mins for my delivery. Food was stone cold. All in the bin. Guy on the phone said he was too busy to talk to me and I was getting him angry for asking why my food has taken soo long. If only I could give it a Zero star.

Please Avoid this restaurant/takeaway. I use this takeaway few times didn’t had issues But this time I was there around 9.15pm Very few portion of food left and it was all very cold. Nihari was spoiled and my wife got food poisoned. Lamb curry was also too bad. We wasn’t sure about the taste of lamb curry and nihari so started having but ended in trouble.

Terrible customers service - both guys on the counter are extremely rude and every time I visit there they make me feel never come back!!!! The owner has to take an action or risk loosing more customers!
