Staying at local caravan site and wanted pizzas delivered for the full family and wow ! Absolutely beautiful, not greasey at all chips crispy would def recommend and delivered to caravan door, staff very friendly on phone as well . Mighty meaty WOW 👍

We went here as it was the only place open at 2300 on a Monday night in Cockermouth...I got the chicken kebab with chips bloke behind the counter asked me what I wanted and I asked for the above with chilli sauce and salad please ....what actually came was a very small amount of chicken in a pitta with no salad or sauce to be fair the chicken was ok but not filling to say it was £8.50 plus £2.50 for chips very poor attempt at being a decent kebab shop... but the chips weren't bad so well done lads keep up the poor effort

Really good food at an affordable price. Try the pizzas. My partner and I rarely go elsewhere for takeouts.

Delicious, Devine and decadent, how else could I describe it. The service is amazing and the staff are so nice and friendly especially the young lads working there. Seem to have good banter in amounts the staff. My favourite takeaway, restaurant even, in cockermouth.

Alternative is the best takeaway in Cockermouth, the BBQ Chicken pizza is so crispy and tasty. Its definitely my favourite. They also cater for Gluten free items and vegetarian meals too. The staff are grea, very helpful and the delivery service is fast and efficient.

The donner kebab was substantial with loads of meat and offered excellent value for money. However, the salad was a bit skimpy meaning the kebab was a bit on the dry side. A bit more salad and the kebab would have been excellent.

The best chicken kebab ever.. pizza was fabulous, all fresh and big portions! Delivery was speedy and food was hot all 5 star made our holiday just so lovely x

The quality of the food and freshness of ingredients is surprisingly high, not just for a take away but also for a restaurant. We had kebab, burgers, fries and pizza and i can say that it is one of the best take away places we try over uk. Unlike many places the food is not all greasy. The staff is friendly and helpful and you can tell they are professional people who know what they do with food. Definitely worth trying them

I cannot recommend this place enough! The food is all incredibly fresh and delicious and the staff very friendly! We ordered kebab, pizza, wraps and burgers from them and every single dish was soooo good! I’ve never seen a kebab place that offers so many good quality dishes!

We ordered a pizza, Regular mixed kebab and chips! The pizza was average but had a very thin base which is unusual for a fast food takeaway pizza. The chicken in the mixed kebab was not marinated and quite dry, the donner meat was a little bland, the kebab came with a small pot of salad. Overall the portion size was big enough for 2 people. The chips were fine. We paid £19.60 and were informed we had to pay extra for for some tomato ketchup (70p) which was astonishing considering the amount we had just paid for the food. I found this takeaway a little over priced for what it is, it maybe because they have no competition around so they can charge what they like.

I have been visiting this takeaway for years - always my first choice for pizza. There has only been one mistake over this time where there was a mix up with the garlic where sauce was used instead of powder (I am vegan so couldn't eat this - easy misunderstanding) I called and a fresh pizza was delivered in 15 minutes with no hesitation. Always super friendly and accommodating for my diet - and the food is good :)

Ordered 5 meals last night, 2 chicken kebabs, 2 house special kebabs all regular plus chicken meat and fries, plus extra small fries. Did ask for salad for kebabs separate and knew this would be extra. Expected bill to be just £41.30 but was charged over £48. Visiting my family so didnt want to make a fuss. Food was lovely but hate being 'ripped off'. Will be avoiding in future.

We ordered a massive order for 14 people on a Saturday. It came really quickly and was absolutely delicious, couldn’t recommend it more highly. Meat was of fine quality, pizzas were really tasty and the service was superb.

Came in here with my partner whilst staying in one of the hotels in Cockermouth, the cheesy chips and garlic bread are cooked so lovely! not too greasy at all!

Después de leer las espléndidas calificaciones de esta comida para llevar en TA, estaba ansioso por nuestro kebab de pollo y, aunque estaba bien, no había nada al respecto que entusiasmara a los papilas gustativas. El pollo era abundante, pero no parecía haber sido marinado, y cuando vi al muchacho cocinar los kebabs, supe que iban a estar demasiado cocidos para mi gusto.El aspecto general de este lugar es vibrante y limpio; el menú es bastante amplio y variado; Y el servicio muy bueno. Los precios son razonables y el tamaño de las porciones es generoso. Sin duda lo volvería a usar, pero definitivamente probaría algo diferente.

Always on time, always cooked properly and always good service. They run a tight ship at alternative.

Alternative takeaway in Cockermouth is one to be tried. The food is always piping hot. The pizza bases are cooked to perfection and are always extra cheesey. There is an excellent selection of meals to try. Would highly recommend. The team are extremely polite and the food is cooked in no time at all.
