One of the best burgers in Manchester!!

I've been here twice in a number of weeks. The first time was excellent, great service, lovely food and i was in and out within 30 mins (i was in a rush). The second time (albeit a Sunday) took an hour (i was on my own). I had to wait at the desk for a couple of minutes, took a while to get served, my drink (can of pop) took some time to arrive, as did the food and clearing up afterwards. I suspect they were understaffed the second time (5th Jan if that helps). The burger roll was very dry and almost stale tasting the second time too. Disappointing but I'm hopeful it's a one-off.

Place was very cold inside, felt like we were unwelcome guests in someone's house. Our meals arrived and when we asked for knifes and forks we were handed a wooden fork. We asked for real cutlery only to be told that all we can have is a wooden fork because the pot washer hadn't turned up. This is not restaurant standards 😒 Definitely woul not recommend.

Great food but the service can be very hit and miss. It's not the staff on shift, you can see they are busy, there is simply not enough of them. I would recommend to book in advance. We visited today, 30th December, not particularly busy in this area of the city. We were told a 40-50 min wait on food. It wasn't an issue for us but we saw lots of people choosing not to stay. It's a shame because places like this rely on footfall but they simply could not deal with the demand.

I don't know why, for a strange reason, they don't allow children into the restaurant. In this case, I'm talking about 13 and 11 year olds.

1st time and place was impressive. Left my jacket there though, hope they keep it for me.

Unfortunately the burger wasn't up to scratch. No beef flavour and gristly. Mainly tasted of toppings. Onions cut like a Weatherpoons. Fries and gravy were really good. Service was also good. 25 quid for burger fries gravy and coke. Not worth it.

Best burgers in town and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! I’ve eaten here hundreds of times and never been let down. Recently hosted my 30th birthday party here and booked out the upstairs. The electronic dart oches are a great addition to the space along with table football. Rosie made the event extra special and was super helpful with all our requests. Our private bartender Ben was busy all night but remain super quick to serve all attendees. Overall an amazing party and would highly recommend both eating here or even booking a private function!

We went to the burger restaurant based on its Google reviews, and when we arrived we found that it was one of the places that our free tour guide recommended to us during his time in the area. The atmosphere is very cool, they have good service and the decoration is cool, plus Christmas has caught us and they have it well decorated. And finally the food is very good, quality-price quite good, within the high prices of Manchester. 100% recommended

Very slow service. Wednesday 6pm. And not busy. Over seasoned fries. Not a fan of unhygienic paper towel roll on the table with previous customers ketchup on it. Burger was ok. And bar service slow.

Plenty of space in the restaurant but decide to seat everyone squashed in, with lots of empty tables on other side, chicken was dry. Service was slow, so slow that in the end we had to walk up and get our own bill. They then had the cheek to add service charge. I should have recieved service charge for working for them. This is the worst time I have been and Im afraid will not be returning back.

Average food at best. For its price burgers do not outperform the (still in my opinion overrated) Five Guys burgers.

Great ambient with really good music, the waitress was really kind and friendly to us and even recommended some of her favorite items. Needless to say they were amazing, I got the Awesome HQ and it hit the spot just right, the sweet potatoes are a must in my opinion and their milkshake is probably one of the bests I’ve had in my entire life. Would come again any time.

Food was cold very expensive for what you get sat there half an hour before we got any attention poor service and dirty place needs shutting down

Great venue, always amazing food. Better than the branch in NQ for service but it can be a little slow at peak times.

Some of the food was late and on the house -server was really nice and made sure we was happy.

Food is OK but for £50 I expect the burger to be bigger than mc Donald's. Chips to salty and hole in the floor in disabled toilet so if you wasn't disabled before you went in you will be when you come out.

I was visiting Manchester and craved a good burger, and Almost Famous did not disappoint. Their Phoenix Burger is very flavorful (double cheeseburger, bacon, shoestring onions, red chilies, BBQ sauce, bacon mayo and ketchup). And their Winning Fries, offering a mix of both skin-on and sweet potato fries, was very good. I also appreciated the lively atmosphere and friendly staff. I paid £25.40 for one burger, fries, 3 sauces, and sparkling water (before tipping).

Absolutely love this place, good vibe, great service and the food is amazing..some of the nicest food we've ever eaten. Highly recommend.

Shout out to Mr Marvyn Manzi. Might be the best bartender in Britain, nay, in the world.

A bit of a nightmare to book in for a large group as the online system only allows a maximum group size of 8 and their phone wasn't working. But managed to get a booking and ended up in a semi-private room off to one side of the kitchen. Staff were excellent, food arrived promptly and was delicious. Only one minor error with pickles on one burger when they'd asked for it without, and the order was quickly remade without fuss. Drinks are excellent too, highly recommend their cocktails and the biscoff snickerdoodle milkshake is to die for!

Great place, great food, grate severs. Slight wait if going peak times (to be expected) and would love to see a chicken burger option 😋. Very accommodating, adapting the menu, and I witnessed good allergies advice with folder when I was there .

An excellent burger spot with friendly and attentive service. The food was prepared fresh and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time! Their cocktails were excellent and their selection of beers was limited but what they had was very good. Not somewhere I'd go every day but a very special treat and somewhere I'd have no problem recommending.

Too much Salt - Avoid eating there We went here for our daughter’s birthday on Halloween. We ordered 12 wings to share among our family of four, but they were extremely salty. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she responded, “Oh yes, they’re salty because of the barbecue sauce,” which wasn’t accurate. The wings tasted overwhelmingly salty, and we felt the excess salt was from the wings themselves, not the sauce. Our concern was not taken into consideration. Disappointing!! The burgers, shakes, and kids’ meals were fine, but the chicken strips served for kids were overly spiced. Overall, it seems there’s an issue with their chicken marination. We weren’t happy with our experience—it was our first visit and, most likely, our last.

Burgers were really good, just missing a nice spicy number on the menu, had the kids in America one though which was yummy. Whoever thought about mixing normal and sweet potato fries is a genius and the watermelon margs were 10/10. Service was friendly and quick!

Trendy location with super delicious burgers and bar food! We reserved a table online, but went there early because we were hungry. The very friendly receptionist assigned us a table without any problems. We ordered burgers and a few sides. The portions are quite large and everything tasted great! The staff was friendly and tried hard. The food and drinks came to the table quickly. In our opinion the price was appropriate. Next time we're back in Manchester we'll definitely stop by again.

Really good burgers, service was OK - we were a table of 13 or so, and one burger got missed, the waiter was super apologetic and the food was delivered fairly quickly. Drinks were good too.

Great venue with good atmosphere, was a bit quiet when we went so can't say whether it gets busy or not. Our party had a few issues meaning we had to customise our orders somewhat and the server was very accommodating and even pointed out food items where we might have had issues. Food was fantastic and really reasonably priced.

Really nice venue, pleasant greeting from friendly staff and the cocktails were immense (recommend the slushies). Gamer venue so something to mess about with if you want to make a night of it 🤙🏾

Went for a meal on Tuesday. We were quite early as our plans had altered, but they were very happy to accommodate. Not everywhere in Manchester is accommodating to coeliac/gluten free diets, but Jen was very good and brought us the allergen matrix very quickly. I had the kids in America, which was delicious. Decent value and happy to have found somewhere accommodating towards allergens.

Amazing experience here. Food is high quality and will presented. Staff are friendly and very willing to assist with any requests. We came from australia and it didnt dissapoint i highly reccommend coming here if you love burgers.

After being let down by a nearby pizza place, we walked in and were greeted by a super friendly member of staff who managed to seat our group of 10 for a late lunch. The staff were amazing, the burgers were delicious, fries and other sides were tasty, too. Milkshakes were yummy as well. Really nice and relaxed vibe!

We was seated pretty quick as only one girl at the front of house doing it all. Order was quick to come not a fan of burgers normally but it was quite nice. Loads of seating when we went it was quiet but was around 3pm on a weekday. Music in background not a bad atmosphere. When you caught the girls eye was quick to serve you and polite throughout.

Not a great experience unfortunately. I had heard great things about this place and was keen to try it. I ordered a shake which on first impressions looked amazing and was huge! However, on closer inspection the internal make up of the glass made for a small shake and after a few sips there was nothing left…. Very poor value for money. The burger I ordered was tasty but was way too salty, I mean I like salt but this was way over the top and almost not edible, the fries I ordered were just a soggy mess, I didn’t really eat them. On the other hand, the wife was happy with her burger and the little one enjoyed his. What really lets this place down is the atmosphere, it’s like your at a concert! It’s deafening… my Apple Watch constantly kept coming up with noise warnings, at half 6 in the evening it’s not what you really want when you’re out with the family. Lastly, the bill! I really hate it when people add service charges to a bill, my service was rubbish! I had to wait nearly an hour for our order, that’s terrible! I get it that you’re busy but that’s not what I paid for. £77 for 3 burgers, some chips and some drinks?? That’s crazy I’ve just rented a room in the heart of Manchester for 3 with breakfast included for £82…. EXTREMELY poor value for the money guys, what a disappointment.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon for their Brunch for £37 to include booze. Jenny was our friendly server, who took care of us. Great burgers & cocktails. Good value for money.

Fun dive bar vibes with a cheeky menu and a bunch of loaded fries. I'm a sauce kinda guy, and all the options were great. Nikki was a top server who looked after us well, and the bar dude was dead friendly too.

Chips were fantastic chicken burger not soo much. Staff were wonderful even though they were very busy.

Visited with friends and had a range of different meals from the menu, including a GF option. All food was fantastic and reasonably priced, especially for central Manchester. Would definitely go back.

I wanted to take a moment to express my huge thanks for helping us host such a wonderful summer party! Thankyou so much for the effort you put in to make it a success, the countless emails and the changes in number were always accepted with professionalism, so thankyou for bearing with us. The night ran like clockwork, the staff were amazing (huge shout out to Imogen, Pippa and Jen who looked after 70 people behind the bar) The personalised touches with the CGI logo on the televisions and the cocktail umbrellas in the drinks were fantastic and really drew peoples attention. General feedback we have been getting from attendees went along the lines of “triumph, food was amazing, games amazing, great atmosphere”. A lot of people had also never been to AF before so people had said they would also be coming back for food with their family. Thankyou again for all your help, hopefully we can run another event in the future together after the success of this one!

Visited here Saturday afternoon with my son . We had a great time sat outside in the sun and the burgers we had were epic . Tried quite a few burger places in Manchester in fact countrywide and this is up there with the best . Slightly higher in price than some others but hey ho .

Not too bad. Burger was nice, lots of accompanying fries (with the lunch menu) and the nuggets weren’t bad either, although I think the chefs hand must have slipped when he was salting the fries. Table was a bit sticky and not sure about the aesthetic of the kitchen rolls on the tables, but overall it was good for lunch. Lovely friendly staff.

Really tasty other than having to admit myself to A&E for sodium poisoning... Jokes, lol... but yeh the food was way way way too salty! (Both burgers and fries). Everyone on our table agreed all the food was just ruined by this. It was a shame, because if not for the salt it would have been really tasty. Good atmosphere, and I would definitely come back if they sort out the salt issue.

Had the chicken burger, and the boneless wings (WOW!!)

The place seems pretty hip. The location is great. The food is good, but also very overpriced. Some of the staff made an effort and others seemed decidedly unemotional. Too cool for a smile. All in all a nice stay, but I can't give a clear recommendation on all the points that are important to me.

All their meat now is Halal, I will never go there ever again. I hope people with half a brain cell will do the same.

The entire team at Almost Famous was friendly, especially Pippa who provided excellent recommendations, ensured we got Halal food as requested, and made sure we had a fantastic experience. I will definitely be returning!

I tried the Vamos burger, it comes with two slices of meat with delicious cheese, and it is the only halal one on the menu.. Chicken pastries with teriyaki sauce 😍🤍👍🏻

I wasn't over impressed with my burger for the price of it. My biggest complaint is the 10% service charge added to the bill. I don't support companies with hidden charges on top of the already expensive menu prices. I like to decide when and how much to tip. So I won't be visiting this one again.

The Blame it on the Whiskey burger (vegan pattie with real cheese option) is the best vegetarian burger I ever had.

Always sensational! Although I'm a huge fan of Almost Famous, this was my first visit to their GN branch. The place is huge and provided a great atmosphere. Just as at other AF restaurants the staff were fantastic. More importantly the food was just as delicious as their other restaurants aswell. I finally got the 'Triple Nom' burger and it was ELITE. Amazing flavours and a beautiful mess to eat! I also tried their relatively new 'Wondernugs'. The nuggets were standard but had a nice seasoning on them and came with a tasty pickle ketchup. To finish off my feast I had the wonder tots. These always slap! The bacon sauce and hot honey combo is incredible. Almost Famous is my go-to place for top tier burgers.

Perfect cheat day meal! Been coming here for years, burgers are mint, fries are great, options for the burgers and chips are nice…just get down. Don’t need to say too much as the food speaks for itself, only thing I’d say is use the kitchen roll provided! I would recommend booking in advance if you can just incase as it can get a little busy, this in turn can mean wait times are a little longer with food and getting the bill however staff have always been nice 👍🏻

We had a bottomless brunch here last night! The food was amazing and service even better. Nick served us and was very quick with getting our orders in and making sure we always had drinks. Very good value for money and one of the best bottomless brunches about!

Top burgers and friendly staff. Meat patties were well rested so there wasn't meat juices drilling everywhere, while the bin was sturdy yet soft. Staff were chilled, friendly and efficient. Tater tots were crispy and toppings were plentiful. One of the best burgers out there

Quick and friendly service. I had the Kids In America burger and it was seriously tasty. Love the quirky design and it's a nice big space that doesn't feel crowded. Next time I'm in Manchester I'll be back!
