Ummm what can I say… really average Indian food in a really bizarre place!? Bring your own booze is obviously the attraction for most people as it can’t be the food… Overall bill was cheap though without paying for restaurant priced alcoholic drinks. Restaurant needs some serious refurbishment and the toilets were a bit grim. Food took 45 minutes to come out but they did apologise several times (although I lost count of the number of times it was coming in 2 minutes!!). Service was good, no complaints there. Probably won’t be rushing back to be honest.

Wonderful hidden gem. Atmosphere can be better, not a posh restaurant at all. Food is tasty and very generous in portion. If you like lassi, this is the place to go, you can get a whole jug! Impeccable service. Price more than affordable. Highly suggested.

First time eating at this curry house. The staff were so welcoming and polite. Cannot fault the food. Large portion sizes too. We had a great night and the place was very busy so must be popular.

Unexpected visit- I was pleasantly surprised! It was pouring down with rain on our night out in Earlsdon. We were getting very wet going from pub to pub so we settled on a curry. My friends and I were giggling going up the stairs- I said what if there’s no curry house and it’s an estate agents. But it was a curry house. We had a lovely meal- and I would go again. I thought it was very reasonable. We had a great night. Thanks guys

Been coming here for years now, and it’s never disappointed me or my family. It’s a favourite for so many people, and I’m sure I’ll be coming here for many more years 😊

Great place, Xmas meal for 25 of us, they kept everyone's bill separate and managed to get every order spot on...can't be faulted!

Food was awful, wait times were shocking, understaffed, drinks smelt of dirty glasses, carpets and table cloths have seen better days, never again!!!

Great value as you take your own alcohol. Food is really good, very authentic. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a place we visit regularly. The decor is quite basic and it can get quite noisy.

Me, my partner & my father are up in cov for my father's 80th birthday party tomorrow. We arrived later than we thought we would & got to the the restaurant an hour before closing. We were still warmly welcomed & didn't feel like we were being hurried. All of our meals were tasty, full of flavour & good sized portions!!...would recommend this balti house if ever in the area!! 👌

Been a customer for at least two decades. I certainly wouldn't call it fine dining but it's just a classic no frills balti house and is fairly priced with good service and bring your own booze. My go to place for a curry!

Absolutely lovely food and hosts would defo go back again

We ordered a £68 takeaway from here last night, everything was inedible. The mixed grill was so dry and must have been initially cooked days before, for £16 we got about 4 pieces of meat.The tikka masala was a loose gravy consistency and did not reflect a traditional tikka masala, the chips were half cooked and rubbery, even with us picking up straight away. The naan breads had slices of raw garlice ontop, absolute waste of money and would strongly recommend to avoid!.

Old decor but food is good and the staff are great and funny.

We ordered a takeaway and it was excellent great beef madras and vegetable Balti with Nan breads . Very welcoming , will be going for a sit down curry next time you can bring your own alcohol .

Unless you love rowdy students who take over shouting and strutting about avoid. Staff just let them even though the rest of us can't hear our own conversation. I gave up. Staff badgered me to know when friends were joining me as they were paranoid I had a bigger table than I needed. Won't go back too much hassle.

Lovely atmosphere and service, everyone on the staff had a smile on their face and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely come back again.

Cool little restaurant, Tucktaway upstairs in Coventry. Very fun atmosphere. If you can get a seat overlooking the street. The food was good, we ordered some thing that we never received and the service was a little slow. A good meal.

Went again last night, I added and extra star so top marks food was excellent. If you see someone give any place one star have a look at their other reviews and see if they should just stop at home and eat pot noodles.

After-Crufts, early evening take away. Unlikely, unwelcoming place, upstairs, so can't see in from the street. Decent price, food was very tasty. A good decision, after walking up and down the road full of different restaurants.

Tasty food. But it comes in massive Balti dishes, and they cool very rapidly. Could do with some hot plates...

I had a Pube in my chicken rogan josh. Naan bread was decent though. Hence the two stars.

I've been going to Ally's for a number of years so thought it about time I wrote a review. We went as a group of 12 friends, all ordering different foods. All were very satisfied with the tasty and quality of the food. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and we've now decided to make 'curry night at Allys' a regular thing for the 12 of us! Would highly recommend

Ordered a take away on Saturday, as usual curry house was not open. Haven't been to Allys in years as live in another area. The starter was dry old chicken with a bit of tomato and salad. Should of been chicken chaat. Ordered a balti as main, it was chewy with no flavor. Nan should of been garlic and cheese. A bit of sprinkled cheese on, no garlic It was cold and dry, it was hard. Should of took it back and complained. Over all, tasteless and dry. Will never go there again!! Only saving grace is staff were really nice.

There were about 16 of us but the service was still quick and efficient and the food was excellent

Love Allys, This is always my chosen place to eat, staff friendly and helpful, great atmosphere , good veggie/vegan menu, reasonable prices.

Fast delivery for Saturday evening, expected 70 mins arrived in 40. Rich spicy Chicken tikka jalfrezi delivered hot and quick, with a fluffy naan and onion bhaji, Excellent!

Nice food at a decent price and can take your own alcohol in. Good service.

Went to Ally's with friends and was not disappointed, you can take your own alcoholic drinks which is good and places close by if you run out. We all ordered different dishes and all of my party were pleased with their food and our waiter was attentive, Will be revisiting

I've had some many visits here I've lost count. I can recommend Ally's Special Balti which is delicious. No bar, but you can bring your own alcohol which I like. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Ally’s is an absolute hidden gem. Randomly ended up here on Monday with my friends and had a great time and will be returning. Jay was a legend. Can’t wait to return

Good choice of very tasty curries and a number of tables are near windows so you get a nice atmosphere to sit in. It's a take your own alcohol place but the shop across the street sorts that out. Really enjoyed my meal out.

Very good food and can take your own beer but if its busy you feel very rushed to hurry up which isnt nice when you've came out for a curry and a few beers!

The fact that you can take your own drinks makes this a win win situation in terms of eating out cheaply. Staff are always friendly, warm and welcoming. Delicious food in big portions - you might need to take some home!

Sadly after a number of visits, my most recent visit will likely be the last. The food was ok but certainly not as good as previously. Then to be charged to take away some of our leftovers seemed unnecessary. There are too many Indian restaurants to return to any that are not good enough. The saving grace was the very freindly waiter.

Visited Ally's with friends for a meal. Good food, cater well for gluten-free customers, good service. Particularly enjoyed the kebab starters. Will definitely return.

I don't often leave reviews but this place deserves one being left as the management was so helpful in catering for me being a vegan. They advertise as able to cater for vegans, and the manager was so helpful in explain what can and can't be made vegan, aswell as suggesting slightly off menu dishes to accommodate my tastes. The curry itself was brilliant. I had a chickpea, potato, cauliflower dopiaza balti. First takeway curry I've had in years. What a delight! I'll be a repeat customer for sure, and looking forward to trying all of the different options suitable for me.

Consistently very good &good value

Buy proper I refer to the fact you can take in your own booze which makes things cheaper. However the price of food here is not particularly cheap in fact they are more expensive than some quite upmarket restaurants I go to and nothing like as good. Kebabs are ok just average, the king prawn starter was absolutely full of salt which completely drowned the flavour of the prawns and the lamb tikka tended to be on the tough side like mutton. Main courses, jalfrezi ok average, king prawn Balti ok reasonable flavour but the prawns aren't very good quality and I had add an extra hot dish with Naga chillies that was enough to blow my head off but I did ask for it, probably the best dish there, Some Like It Hot !!! It was Christmas Eve and Wetherspoons had shut the kitchens at 9 p.m. so we were quite desperate to eat, we were all starving and I was glad we went there because although the food was a bit mediocre or average the service was good and we had a very pleasant time. It's up quite a steep flight of stairs above an Italian restaurant so I don't think there can be any wheelchair access. Although average the food is streets ahead of the Royal Bengal which is quite nearby however that's not saying much because I rated the Royal Bengal with only one star as the food was absolutely awful.

So whenever I’ve eaten in Earlsdon it’s always further down the road. A friend booked three of us into Ally’s and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. As the name suggests balti is what they do well. If the menu isn’t extensive then as I found altering ingredients or temperature is no problem. No alcohol license so take your own. We had no sense of being rushed and were nattering so much we were surprised when the waiter apologised for the delay in our main course. Very friendly service and well worth the price.

Booked table in advance got there on a cold night to get turned away because they had double booked us. Appreciate that it can be busy on sat night but need to be clear on whether the table is actually booked the guy even said to us if the next people are late, then we would have their table putting others in the same position as us while this was going on I noticed other staff hurrying other people out very dissatisfied

I have been coming here for years the best curry house by far. Always friendly staff lots of friendly banter and always great food in a pleasant atmosphere. Just love coming here or any occasion.

You ever get baked and go dining?I was heavily cooked one night and found myself in here. All I remember is smashing through double figures of the best pompadomps I’ve ever had. Probably had around 15. They were delicious. The staff are all friendly and the facilities are classy. If only they stayed open later I would give 6 stars.

We visited here last night .. as previous reviews said the decor is bit dated but we were sat right by a window and it was quite nice . The food was lovely but there were a couple of things that need to be mentioned that could put people off ...we had our poppodoms and before we had finished they had brought out our starters i find this annoying i don’t like being rushed and you could clearly see we had not finished so that was bit of a pain and although it was a Friday night it was not that busy not that that is an excuse ... moving onto the starters we had 3 lots of samosas and one sheesh kebab the samosas were lovely very tasty the sheesh kebab was not as spicy as expected but still enjoyable . Main meals were all really nice i had balti chicken ( can’t remember others but all lovely ) and generous portions the naan was cold so they took this off the bill ... overall it was nice evening and the staff are very attentive and helpful if a little rushed .

If appearances are important to you then your first impression when you walk into this restaurant will be one of "oh dear where have I landed here", and you might want to turn around and leave. Its not pretty or well presented but clean and small. HOWEVER the staff are very friendly and the food is good. The portions are a good size and value for money. We were a group of 11 men and only a couple of us actually managed to eat all of that they ordered.

Enjoyed the food but I would have appreciated not being rushed from beginning to end, we had not sat down at the table when the waiter was opening my bottle of wine and filling glasses as I drink Rosa and one sister drinks white and my other sister was driving surely he should leave this to us. Then they were rushing for the order, the restaurant was not even that busy and did not get busy only ours and another table of 2 men in all night. Food was good in fact we would return if the service was better and we were not charged £2.95 for a bottle of water which was on the table on arrival. Surely if you are going to charge for WATER it should be in a fridge and requested by the customer Most Indian restaurants serve free water. We also felt that we were rushed out even though it was not busy as soon as we had finished eating our dishes taken away bill arrived and then our coats. We will not be visiting again

Al2ays cracking service and if there's something you want not on the menu they're happy to cook it for you and it's good honest food.

Sadly didn't match the reviews. That was no biryani. Seems to me all the good old Indian chefs are in retirement now. And the new breed are no match. Let's try and stay positive the papadoms were nice. Try harder chaps.

In a room bustling with noise, smells and more noise, the maître d′ did a superb job of finding a class table at the back of the restaurant where my friends and I could engage in conversation without the disturbance of other tables. The poppadoms we had were simply class and one waiter even got us some more mango chutney after someone on the table quaffed the whole ruddy lot. My chicken shashlik bhuna was seriously peng and could've eaten that till the cows came home, perfect with the accompanying peshawri naan bread - a perfect balance of sweetness with spice. Bliss. After we had all finished eating our plates were cleared away swiftly, in a busy restaurant with a million diners crammed in like cattle the waiter had a tough job of getting around the table to clear all the plates but he had the grace of a falcon and was in and out of the area like a demon's whisper. Some restaurants chase you out the door like a bad smell as soon as your cutlery is down, but alas, the staff were courteous enough to allow us to finish our evening at the table. The bill was reasonable and even came with some choccy mints which was class. This is a BYOB restaurant so I brought loads of Cobra with me because that's so class with curry. I'd never normally drink Cobra but it's one of those things that you just always have with a curry if you know what I mean? I tried having a Cobra with a normal meal (chicken pie, chips and peas) and it just didn't feel right. I think a Sharps Atlantic would've gone better with that meal because it's quite hoppy with a hint of citrus which would've paired well, but I didn't have any in and we still had a Cobra left in the fridge from our last curry evening but I guess these are the experiences we learn from.
