Alley Food and Mood in Coventry

The service is not good. All items in our meal came one by one down the food lift they have in the resturant. The Chinese girl with the glasses is not very attentive towards the customers. They reduced the portion of the curry sauce but still charge the same price. They also charge you to take your food away in a container

The food was awefully BAD. Extremly spicy, drained with extreamly hot chilli oil and millions of chillis. No taste, my toung was burning after eating. Later I fel sick with tummy aching and diarrhea type symtoms. I will never order from Alley Food and Mood. This is my worst chinese food that I ever had.

Alley is one of my go to places to eat in Coventry. Most of the menu are great,but I don't really like the hotpot menu, it is just okay. Serving is quite fast, def will recommend people to try.

If you're in the market for Asian food avoid this restaurant at all costs! Staffs were rude and could not speak decent English. Food was salty and overpriced. If anything I hope this restaurant goes bankrupt! 0/10.

Everyone who wants to eat here is an absolute idiot.

£13 for a noodle soup advertised as "with beef and spare rib", but it came with no meat in it. Just a broth with noodles. Duck was chewy, mostly just fatty bits. Be warned! Very overpriced for quality.

Very good food, I’d recommend to indulge yourself in the longer, more extensive menu as they definitely some good food and worth the try!

Fabulous dish. I ordered 梅菜扣肉 and It tastes so good that it reminds me of my grandma cooking. I should have known this restaurant earlier. I believe this is the signature dish of this restaurant. 拔絲地瓜不要點，完全就只是糖漬地瓜 滷肉飯味道還可以，但肉塊太大，瘦肉可以再爛一點或選擇肥一點的部位，飯超級不及格，黏到不行

Staff need to be more considerate to native English speakers. I asked for a beer 3 times. Finally my wife reminded them in Chinese and it appeared instantly. Come on.

考文垂吃了好几家店了，第一次遇到阴阳菜单情况，收费时每道菜都会比店家给顾客看的那份菜单价格额外收取1-2镑（包括米饭）。对，是每道菜都会多收钱！

It is truly the worst Chinese restaurant. They charge fees 10% higher than the menu price. It is fraudulent! If you hope to have a higher price, you should give us a correct menu! The taste of the food is also not good, and they do not speak English. If you don't speak English, you shouldn't have a restaurant here. Moreover, it takes a very long time to serve the dishes. Never come back. 这确实是最糟糕的中餐馆。他们收取比菜单价格高 10% 的费用。这是骗人的！如果你希望有更高的价格，你应该给我们一个正确的菜单！食物的味道也不好，他们不会说英语。如果你不会说英语，你不应该在这里开餐馆。而且，上菜需要很长时间。别再回来。

It was terrible.. the braised beef and noodles in soup came with no beef and the order was cold

Came in here for dinner early on a Saturday and it was pretty busy because the football was on. Service wasn’t the quickest, but I think we had caught a time when the staff where having their breaks. A very cheery man served us and the food was excellent with a nice chilli kick. When we stood up to leave, there wasn’t a spare table and the place was heaving. Very popular restaurant and will definitely return.

They couldn't speak English and also they charged me for a green tea that I didn't had..Please get someone in there who knows English because it was a big barrier trying to understand us and we them...

Well we Haven Been in this restauran for a second time.Firstly we took out patents for a nice meal out and IT was so good at that time so we decided to return.However after Just over 6 monts later this place comepletely changed and is not even close to what IT was before.Shechuan chicken was full of bones not a single drop of souce in IT.kung po prawns tasted more like a curry souce.The amout of chillies in all dishes was horrendous.Not a good expirience anymore.And we will not return there again...

Ordered two starters and two beers. Beer wasn’t cold and came with a latte glass (different). There was a long wait before the first starter arrived. Had to ask for the other and was told that they’d got other orders and the kitchen was very busy. The attitude of the waitress made me feel like I was being an inconvenience. Eventually it after first starter was finished. The standard of service left a lot to be desired and we decided not to order mains and to pay and leave. Really disappointed as had read good reviews on the place. Won’t be returning.

So after having been a frequent customer in this restaurant, we have decided to never come back here again because of the new chinese girl waitress's attitude. What supposed to be a pleasant night out with friends became horrible. She was very condescending in the way she took our order. We've waited for nearly 30 minutes for our food but to no avail. Other customers who came way after us got all of their food order. She went passing by us without communicating. She ignored us though we've already grown impatient. I think she's in the wrong industry. We tried our best effort to pacify our own emotions but we got to the point where we just have to move out and cancel our orders. Should have gotten her name. The owners are lovely but this worker gives this restaurant a bad image.

Can't comment on food as it never arrived. Paid for it, sat in front room but nothing ever arrived. No one knocked, seems they gave it to someone in the nearby pub beer garden. Rang to check and they hung up on me and now won't answer the phone. Can't seem to get refund either. Bag of crisps for tea then.....

Randomly stumbled upon this place & it instantly became my favourite Chinese place in Coventry. The food is absolutely delicious. I find myself craving it and since discovering it, I’ve become a regular. The hostess is incredibly, she makes you feel very welcomed. The atmosphere is very cute and they play good music. I highly recommend this place.

Been meaning to write this review for a while. I've been in Coventry for over 6 years now and recently found this gem with my girlfriend. Just like other reviewers this has become our go-to Chinese restaurant. I have instantly fallen in love with the the double cooked pork belly and boiled rice. Moreover, I don't know which blend of spices they use to make me feel this way, the salt and pepper chips are more addicting than crack, absolutely delicious! Little tip: a fantastic way to pair the chips is with the chicken wings as a starter. You're welcome

Lovely place - I found this restaurant on a walk today and I am very pleased with the service and the spicy dishes. I recommend this place because they care about cleanliness and the sumer dishes are seasoned and delicious ... We will definitely come here again with the family

Waiting times too long for deliveroo. Food is ok but I can see from the map the driver not deliver my food at first time.

Why why why. At first I saw the ratings i thought I was going to get a lovely meal. but when I was walking past the staff room I heard two staff arguing. The prices are disgraced it was 27£ for 3 chicken nuggets. My child was traumatised by a rat performing a ritual in the toilets. A lady called plumbell told me to go watch ratty boo boo Tom train. :/. Saw a staff memeber throwing a fried rat in the bin which looks like my second uncles cousin. #ratlivesmatter

Best Chinese food we've eaten... Picked it as it had the best reviews on google and we weren't disappointed. The half a duck was my favourite, best quality duck I've eaten. Will deffo come again when we are in Cov! Thank you :)

It’s basically my go-to Chinese food place as you can tell from the pictures I have with me. 🤣🤣 Highly recommend to go for the stir fry green bean (干煸四季豆) and also Kung Pao Chicken (宫保鸡丁)!! Trust me you’ll fall in love with them. If you’re looking for single rice dish, you can try their Braised Pork Rice (卤肉饭) or the Sichuan style pork and rice (回锅肉饭). Their prices are very reasonable, portion sizes are good too.

Fantastic! I don't like 'Chinese takeaway food but this was very authentic, fresh ingredients. Some of the best Chinese food I've had. Waitress very genuine, polite and efficient. Fair prices too.

My partner and I had a wonderful meal here, particularly the beef brisket noodle soup. (See photo.) It was a cold day, and the soup really cleared out our sinuses and warmed us up.

My favourite meal ive eaten ever, prawns were huge and tasty. My partners Duck was sweet and juicy, accompanied by rice and chips Service and Welcome Outstanding

If you want traditional North East Chinese food, this is the place. My daughter never give any restaurant 5 🌟 but she gave this one a 5 according to Chinese dessert. Very tasty and not too sweet. Just right for a hot day.

If you are having the Chinese food from Chinese takeaways ( Cantonese / HongKong) most of time , then there is not your taste . As this is the typical Chinese cuisine. Hot , spicy & tasty .., the atmosphere is relaxing too ... strongly recommend ..

I came in here whilst the Eat to help government offer was on. Lovely restaurant with really friendly staff. A women spoke to me a few times, I assume she was the owner, to ask if everything was ok. Food was amazing and she even offered me a doggy bag of I wanted to take home the bit I hadn’t eaten. Don’t worry about chopsticks. I was initially given a fork and spoon and requested chopsticks, so if you are not very good with them there is an alternative available.
