We went to this restaurant yesterday and really enjoyed it. A little out of the way, but definitely a little gem. We had starters and a main course, the house also served stuffed warm grape leaves and a dessert of baklava and semolina cakes. The owner was very, very nice, explained everything well to us and was extremely generous. Gladly again at any time!

What a great find. It's heartening that places like this still exist in an increasingly homogenised city. It's a lovely, family run restaurant offering simple but delicious food at an incredibly reasonable price. Go and support a small, independent restaurant!

We booked for a large group of us to try Egyptian food and my gosh why have we not tried it before- truly gorgeous! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!

Had the absolute best meal here, they couldn't have been more hospitable and went out of their way to support my allergy. The food was delicious, the Fatoush, Baba Ghanouch, Ful and Falafel were all incredible and so fresh. Standout was the Koshary which I've never tried but was just out of this world. Can't recommend this place and the team enough, we felt like family. Thank you!

Alibaba An authentic Egyptian restaurant, cooked by an Egyptian family consisting of a father and mother. The place is far from Al-Agward Street and close to Ringgit Park. I had dinner there, the shop was empty and quiet. Suitable for lovers of quiet restaurants and suitable for conservative families due to the small number of people, and it is worth the trip Menu in pictures A simple menu that includes the most important popular dishes The employees are kind and respectful. The food is delicious and clearly home cooking for a delicious Egyptian meal 😋. Prices are affordable and cheaper than other Alagaward Road restaurants. Thank you to the honorable sister who received us, served food, and finally took a family photo of our last dinner before we traveled back. It will be on my list of restaurants when I visit London

Literally every single dish we ordered there were all excellent. For us, the highlight was the Koshari (our favourite Egyptian dish), which was the best we have ever tasted. Really authentic, well cooked food, absolutely delicious, well prepared, good seasoning, fresh, good size portions and good value/taste for money. We had their mixed grill (all the meat were well grilled, well seasoned, nothing too over spiced, so tasty, so juicy, well cooked), not dry, leatherish or charred at all (like what we usually find in other kebab places, high end or not). Their fatoush salad was simply delightful and well balanced. We tried their lamb's liver, so lovely that it is now on our target list for next time, as it pairs so well with their complimentary bowl of mixed pickles (which does not taste oversalted at all). We also got complimentary fresh hot bread and tahini, other than the pickles. Service was fast, friendly and the hosts were just lovely. Even their customers were really friendly and nice (who recommended that we try molokhia next time, which the Kuwaiti gentleman claim is the best ever). Love the atmosphere in this 40+ year old establishment, which is apparently one of the first Egyptian restaurants in London. We even enjoyed their hot mint tea very much. All the tastes in our meal here, food or drink, were just so right, so perfectly balanced. Clean, spacious, relaxed, very pleasantly placed Egyptian touches here and there, the place has a reassuringly chic casual feel, like you are in a well kept secret upper class place. Next few visits, we will try to fit in Om Ali, Molokhia, lentil soup and chicken soup. This is a real good find and long may it last as our go to Egyptian restaurant in London. Highly recommended, probably everything on their menu.

We had the nicest time here, the restaurant has a relaxing vibe and one of the best hosts in London! We felt like we were in someone’s home in the best possible way. The Fattah (lamb with garlic rice and chili) was our favorite alongside the Om Ali and Basbusa for dessert. We also thoroughly enjoyed the cardamom Turkish coffee, a refreshing kick to finish off the meal (which the hosts so kindly offered)! We were recommended by a friend to visit, but no doubt we will recommend it to everyone keen on trying authentic Egyptian cuisine in a cosy setting, and would definitely visit again ourselves.

I stumbled on this almost hidden gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. On both occasions i've attended its been very quiet, i guess both times were mid afternoon. The walls are graced with beautiful artwork, various pieces depicting ancient Egyptian scenes. The staff, i believe are all family, i've seen 3, perhaps Mother, father and Son, its refreshing to see. Its a quiet little restaurant service a little slower if your in a rush, but good things come to those who wait, so if you have time you will be rewarded in kind. i was greeted with respect and given a table of my choice, other than the food both times i visited were almost exactly the same. The first time i went, about 10 days ago, i had lentil soup, no accompaniments, i declined bread and anything else, i was in the mood for just soup and nothing else, nothing else was forced, sometimes staff have a tendency to over offer additions. The soup was piping hot and the best lentil soup i had encountered in london, i blew it and sipped it slowly until the bowl was clean, you could feel the love and care put into preparing what i would think a generational homemade recipe perhaps passed down and kept in the family. My second visit, my return, i had the Molokhia, also Mulukhia, it is a green soup made from minced Jews/Jute mallow leaves and spinach cooked in broth. it came with a chicken leg in the centre. there is a lamb option also, to be honest i only really wanted the green element the soup but happily ate most of the chicken however i don't eat chicken close to the bone so left some scraps, hopefully it wasn't wasted. this dish blew my mind, it was green and herb, so flavourful, a thick grey sourish texture, packed full of flavour. I like to liken food to a journey and often say good food should sing to you, it should explode with flavour on your palate, It should hmm, each mouthful should be a flavour sensation, a journey, this it did, this it was. I ordered pickles as a side and boy did they add to the journey, bright pink pickled turnip, juicy black olives and succulent green chilis, tepid in heat, they just hit the spot, a little spicy but not to much, perfectly balanced like your kebab shop chilis but of higher quality. A phrase i love, you eat with your eyes first, and this experience didn't disappoint, it stimulated all the senses to full effect. i left both times feeling extreme gratitude, it was like having dinner with the gods, like i had been invited into someones house, their temple, the entire process was an amazing experience, a sensory emersion into Egyptian life, i've spent enormous amounts of time in Egypt, i will say without a shadow of a doubt best Egyptian food i've had in london, best Egyptian experience i've had the pleasure of experiencing in London, Thank you

This is hands down, the worst meal i have ever had in London. I swear to god this was such a horrible experience that i left my food and refused to eat it. I am so disappointed. When i talked with the staff regarding my experience, they did nothing to fix the situation and just said that people like the dish. Service and atmosphere were great.

The food was good and authentic. We had a variety of starters and all had the Ali Baba Special, a rice and lamb dish. There was also a limited choice of desserts. Drinks were available but only soft drinks or tea and coffee.

I have absolutely no idea how or why this place gets good reviews - it's like they're all reviewing a different restaurant! The food here was simply terrible. Starters were not too bad, although the waitress struggled to understand the difference between 'hot' and 'cold'. Our table was under a bright white neon light that might have been appropriate for a nasty surgical procedure but was not exactly gentle and welcoming for a cozy dinner. Still, we could live with all that... except the main course was truly dreadful. I had a lamb stew which turned out to be bits of greasy meat swimming in some sort of grey liquid, and the veggie stuff was either tasteless or actually unpleasant. The guy that runs the place was perfectly friendly but nobody cleared away our (largely uneaten) plates for what seemed like an age and the waitress, though also friendly and smiley, seemed to have disappeared altogether. Nor was it cheap - nearly £80 for two - which was just a joke really. I love Ethiopian food, but this place - never again.
