Food was plentiful hot and tasty. Couldn't enjoy it as weshould because the room was just too hot. No ventilation no air con. Shame

We visited yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were so efficient and friendly. The food was beautiful. We had the lunch menu a 2 coarse meal with a glass of wine. It was delicious and affordable and well worth the journey and will certainly be going again. 👌.

Had Easter Sunday dinner. Very busy...excellent service ... very enjoyable day. Why 4 stars...I’m fussy, lovely meal spoiled by adding some sort of herbs that had a perfume smell and taste, believed to be the carrots but not sure, either way something is/was added that took away from an excellent meal. There was extra gravy and extra sticky toffee sauce supplied without delay on request ... so I would recommend, maybe trying each dish of vegetables prior to placing on the plate ... if like me you do not like herbs.

We went as a couple to Alfreds on Saturday night, as we haven't been for a while. Food outstanding as ever!! Service excellent, especially from Laila who was our waitress. She was very personable and very good at her job. Always lovely to have such personal service so Laila should be recognised for this thank you!! Will be back soon

Best Sunday lunch around! Abundance of gorgeous veg piping hot plenty of meat and nice atmosphere. Would recommend prawn cocktail and beef.

Called on a Friday evening. Could park near the back door. Were warmly welcomed and attended to. Good choice on the menu, with great fish dishes too. The food was absolutely delicious - the hake for him and pasta & funghi for her. Service throughout was good and quantities were generous. We’ll definitely return soon.

We didn't have food on this occasion. However I have never had a meal I don't like in all the years I have been eating there.

We were booked in at 2pm today (mothers day) were asked to sit downstairs until table was ready and given a beeper that would tell us when our table was ready. At 2-25pm my daughter went up to ask what was going on, she was told our table was getting sorted, she went up at 2-45 to check again and another upset family were sat because tgey refused to go downsrairs, so we all went up by the host stand and at 2-55pm were sat at a table that was getting laid as we were sitting.I had to go and ask at host stand at 3-15pm if anyone was going to come take our order ( we were really hungry at this point)my husband went downstairs to get drinks as no one was available to ask to get them. When we got asked for menu choices eventually we asked for water for the table which came quite quickly but with no glasses to drink from, i had to go to host stand a while later to ask for glasses. Food was mostly nice but my husbands starter of calamari was soft in texture so not enjoyable. I had to go to host stand again to ask if someone would come take our dessert order. Very disappointed as yet again we as a family have been very disappointed with an occasion being spoilt, xmas was the first. Did speak to manager and had a reduction of 2 drinks off bill and had a feasible explanation to the delay of being seated. My suggestion would be to have 2 waiting staff split into sections that get drinks /orders and deliver them as there seemed to be a lot of different staff everywhere and not organised very well.

Really nice place. Went with a group of us from work and even though there were a lot of us then service was excellent.

Nice fresh food. The burger was lovely and chips were perfectly crisp and fresh... lovely fire in the centre down stairs on those cold days/evenings and great for a quick pint if you're just passing through. Right in the middle of town too 👍👌

As with everyone else here I've experienced good food and lackluster service. I ordered a coffee at the bar this weekend. It took 30 minutes. Meanwhile the staff were serving pints to big groups immediately. I guess they have their priorities, right?

Table booked for 17.30, drinks ordered as we were seated, also requested water for the table, Waited 15/20 minutes and our meal order was taken, had to ask where our drink order was, food delivered and was delicious. When it came to paying the bill it appeared that every drink that we had ordered, we had in fact be charged twice, therefore adding an additional £100 plus to the bill, when we challenged this we were asked if the order had been taken via a tablet, it was in fact taken in writing. Staff are inexperienced and we witnessed many dropped and smashed glasses

This was my second visit to this restaurant. Really enjoyed the first visit so took the family the second visit. The first visit was mid week the second visit on Saturday. Sadly the Saturday visit didn’t no live up to my expectations. It was very noisy. There was a disco downstairs and you could hardly hear yourself think. The service was extremely poor. We never got to order dessert as they never came and took the order. We had to keep asking for the bill. There was plenty of staff however they didn’t seem to stick to one section they were all over the place there was just no organisation at all very poor management of the staff. The food was good it was the noise, service and one very drunk person let the place down. 😩

Myself and my wife have been going to Alfred’s since it opened. Many years now. We have had birthdays, Christmas lunches, anniversaries and christenings and most Saturdays on lunch time for years. Today was the last time for us. Disappointed by front of house management there was no welcome, no smile and not very accommodating. There was no engagement in conversation. Rude to honest and not the first time. Food was good and one waiter working his socks off was helpful and trying his best. There were other people there felt the same. Not a great experience. Bring back the old staff.

Have been going to Alfreds regularly since it opened. Today was “the straw that broke the camel’s back.” The girl that was in charge was so miserable, no welcoming smile, no warm welcome just plain dower. The waiter a young lad couldn’t do enough for us, he worked off his feet. Food was good as normal. Feel very disappointed. Won’t be back for a while.

Booked this restaurant for our works Christmas party and we had a fantastic night and we were looked after very well. I haven't been to this restaurant for well over 10 years and have to say it didn't disappoint at all. The food was served very quickly and as it was a large party no one waited for their food and there was plenty to go around. I will be back here most definately.

I have been a regular here for 20 years and have had many lunches and dinners with friends and family. Today I was having lunch with two friends. Never have I experienced such abysmal service from a relatively new front of house woman called Libby. She’s been there since April, so some 10 months. We’d had mild words before when, as a party of 8 for lunch soon after she first started, we asked if the Katsu chicken could be served on its own rather than on a bed of chips. Back came the answer immediately, “No, that’s how it comes.” There was no suggestion that she might ask the chef to plate it separately. But we let it go. In hindsight that was a mistake. Today, however, her attitude was quite shocking, peremptory, authoritarian and totally inappropriate. At 2.15, while we were still eating she came to tell us we had to vacate our table as it was booked for someone else at 2.30. We asked why we’d not been advised of this when booking. Her answer, “It’s always been the rule. Your table is for 2 hours. It’s on the website,” Bearing in mind I was there the previous day with 2 other friends, eat there at least once a week, and was booked for Sunday lunch, I objected. This has never, ever been an issue. Again, no apology, no attempt to provide an alternative solution. I I have now cancelled my booking for Sunday lunch and for dinner next Friday. I fail to understand why a place that charges sky high drink prices has such lousy, clueless bar service

I have been visiting Alfred’s for years and never had a complaint until feb 16 th . Took family for a meal for my mums birthday there were five of us . My sister ordered a steak well done which had to be sent back to be cooked as it was rare and two of us had a fillet steak that was very small . I understand that fillet steaks are not usually large but these were very small . Very dissapointed on this visit

Food was lovely, plenty of options and cooked well. Service was rubbish, was shown to our table and handed menus, we weren’t asked if we had been before so we were unsure if we were to order at the bar or if a server would come to the table. After 10 minutes of waiting I had to go and find a server to ask. Ordered our drinks which hadn’t actually been sent through to the bar. Our starters then came out before our drinks arrived at the table. Main course - brought the wrong cut of steak, ordered a sirloin and got brought fillet, it was a lovely cut of meat but not what was ordered. Servers were too concerned with dancing to the very loud music than taking care of the guests. Music from downstairs was very loud so was very difficult to have a conversation with the person sat next to you. Again though, can’t fault the food, it was very good. A real shame about the service!

Food good, but slow service and very noisy

Plenty of choice on the menu, even for a vegetarian like me! A really good fish and meat selection too. The food was really lovely and presented very well. The staff were not too overly attentive, they were knowledgeable and pleasant. Be prepared for city pricing. The only downside was the background music as it was very loud and spoiled our conversation a little. On the whole, our party of six enjoyed our evening meal and we will return.

Nice place, was very busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Food was lovely though.

Just had a lovely meal The food was amazing, unfortunately the service awful. I was made to feel very embarrassed for asking if they had a takeaway box. Our waitress made it clear she didn't want to be anywhere near our table. At the end of our evening she disappeared but was then gesturing with other staff members at our table making me and my table feel awful. I do not recommend eating here due to the poor service.

Bad day at Alfred's today. Whilst I waited for a friend, I ordered a Hot Chocolate which took 10 minutes to make . My friend arrived, ordered a glass of lager and got a pint. We ordered 2 portions of dirty fries. .One portion came to the table, the waiter argued I only ordered 1 meal which was incorrect. The second meal came after more than 20 minutes. The worst part, the place wasn't busy. Won't be back.

Excellent evening but the steak was overdone (asked for medium well and it was well done and chewy at best).Excellent service but expensive food relative to other good restaurants.

Worst ever . The manager is rude the staff untrained. Food meh . Booked for a table of 6 months ago and were sat on a table made up for 4 . And had to stand waiting whislt staff went and found chairs small enough for the table.

Food was first class. Venison Loin was probably one of the best meals I have had. Highly recommended

Christmas lunch - compared to last 4 years I have visited I must say the standard of service has dropped - food still lovely but was told at bar that drinks were table service only and then took over 30 min to come to take order!! New manager (I assume) was really quite rude to one of the waitresses in front of customers ! Not what I would have expected from a fine dining establishment - as I said food still lovely but service has dropped 😰

Had a special birthday on the December 1st. Very busy with Xmas parties and were expecting slow bar and food service but the girls were all super efficient with our orders (12 of us) and were very professional in the way they handled ours and the adjacent tables out in the conservatory. The food was excellent, starters, main and the desserts were the real deal! Will be booking for my wife’s special birthday.

What an absolute joke of a place to have a Christmas meal The service was non existent - I hope you are not planning to have Christmas lunch here. No one came to check if we were ok no one came to clear our table until we had to stand and wave for 12 minutes, one then asked if we wanted a dessert. The staff were around but their training was non existing about customer care, they only wanted to do stuff that was NOT customer facing, like clear tables, move cutlery about and wander back and forth, I will not be returning I realise it’s a Christmas, so therefore I would have thought the owners would have ramped UP the service , not down to the bilges

Total lack of atmosphere, even at Christmas time. Staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. Booked in advance for four people, and then two weeks in advance, called them to say it will now be three people, but they still try to charge me the deposit for four when I paid the bill. I also found the woman who was front of restaurant, miserable, looking, no eye contact, and just felt I was like a number!

Great place to eat, great staff and service.

On arrival, restaurant was quiet, service was great & very polite. Orders taken and food arrived. All good, thought looks great & ready to enjoy. As restaurant became busy service plummeted. After mains just waited and waited for someone to clear plates, 1 waitress walked past us around 3 times, ignored us & when we tried to get her attention. Food: average.. mushroom starter, filling was so good but mushroom it was stuffed with almost raw & tepid, pork was superb, pasta was ok but lacking in seasoning , no Parmesan. I wasn’t going to add review but it was the poor service when busy upset us. When table eventually cleared, we asked for the bill, waitress never came back. Saw her at the desk, helping other staff, helping chef, behind the bar!! Bizarre. Ended up at the desk on way out to pay, asked if we had the bill, explained that we had asked, had a shoulder shrug in reply … so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Would I go again? maybe, food average, service below average

Enjoyed the Christmas's atmosphere. The bar staff and waitresses were friendly and polite, despite being extremely busy. I ordered venison, which I had never tried before. It was tender and tasty and the came in a whole cranberry sauce, which was delicious. My only issue, however, was the oder the food was served.. The venison and steaks were served first, followed by the turkey dinners, vegetables and fish dishes. Chips were served right at the end, which were meant to be with the steaks and venison. Ours was a party of 26 people, so it was a wait of 15 mins between my meat and my chips. Obviously I didn't want cold venison so I ate the two parts of my meal separately. The waitresses weren't at fault. I feel that more careful organising in the kitchen is needed.

Honestly I was so disappointed I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions and had lovely meals so I recommend to colleagues for a works Christmas do . We pre ordered in October so thought everything would be fine my colleague had written down everyone’s order and it seemed straightforward. Anyway we arrived and starters were brought out which weren’t the starters we had ordered there was no apology and staff were actually rude. We didn’t complain and ate what was offered drinks were very slow to arrive and starters were forgotten we also had to ask for a coffee about four times! I never complain or write bad reviews but this visit was awful! Steaks all arrived medium rare or very rare in some instances no one had been asked how they would like their steaks cooked 🤷‍♀️ desserts took over 40 minutes to arrive but were delicious when they got to us, when I asked the manager if we could pay separately and apologised for being a pain she told me to work it out ourselves there was no customer service whatsoever in fact people were just rude! When we did all pay the manager said she would check if we had paid enough and then didn’t return! In the end we got up to leave and had to ask her if everything was ok we received no thanks for our patience or apology for everything that wasn’t right with the order! It’s a Christmas menu there’s not a lot of choices and we ordered months ago!

Third visit this year for birthday lunch. Great value lunch deal, the food is exceptional particularly the fish dishes, staff very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back for more special occasions. Only downside is there's not a particularly good selection of craft ales

There was some confusion with one of our orders and one of our party had to wait a bit longer, they were then brought the wrong side without explanation, this was rectified fairly quickly and the staff member in question was very apologetic. Staff member was really pleasant and we definitely would return.

Went here on a recommendation from a friend , The place itself does look impressive However the food was terrible If you think this place does decent food u need to broaden your horizons Ordered the boneless pork belly to start 4 minutes later it was brought to the table ! Alarm bells went straight away Was barely warm Not cooked properly and basically a lump of fat There was quite a lot of it too For the main I ordered the monk fish The best way to describe this is the boil in the bag fish and sauce you get in iceland the supermarket There was 3 cutlets that were mostly bone I eat monk fish in ceasers in Craigau or maderia in Cardiff and even when I do it myself And it’s never been any thing like this it was awful When I asked to see the manager and questioned the speed of the starter he confirms it wasn’t cooked fresh But reheated The chefs seem to stand around I presume all the cooking gets done in the microwaves out the back I suppose it’s convenient the super market iceland is just down the road If you like nice food don’t waste your money here

Went for Sunday lunch today my partner and my friends had a lovely Sunday lunch my roast beef was lovely but the roast potatoes I couldn’t eat they were so hard the swede was all hard the Yorkshire pudding was very hard and the waitresses although the restaurant was quite busy they didn’t come back to us it was a different waitress every time they didn’t collect our plates we were there at 2 we were waiting until 10 to 4 for our dessert when they collected our plates at the same time all the glasses on our table wernt collected at all not impressed at all we have been here before and never had a problem at all but this time we felt deflated and reading other reviews about this place has confirmed my decision it used to be so good sorry

The two waiting staff were pleasant but unable to be attentive as too busy. Some of the food was very tasty. Reasonable deal on the fixed price menu. Not much effort made for gluten free diner ( we did phone ahead) no bread available to go with the soup. Not a huge vegetarian selection either. One first course served on a badly cracked plate with brown staining. Our drinks didn't arrive until after we finished the first course. Two main courses served on cold plates. Vegetarian lasagna ordered a meat one arrived had to hunt down a server at the other end of the restaurant, we approached the kitchen area together the chef said of course it was vegetarian and I just said it looks like it has mince in it, said lasagna was retrieved. Apologies all round the vegetarian lasagna had found its way to the diner who had ordered a meat one! A drink on the house was offered but politely declined The side of chips that came with the meal were obviously cooling but more would be provided instead a side salade was requested which was agreed to ,a small salade was chosen from the salade bar . The mixed lettuce leaves were tired and drowning in a considerable amount of water. Back at the table on picking up a piece of potato salade a short curly hair was seen to be attached to it. Two diners sat and watched the third eat a late arriving meal not great. I suggested to the server that the potato salade should be removed from the salade bar I don't know if this happened . We were deducted one course off the bill for hairgate! These are pretty big negatives which is ashame because some of the food was tasty. The worse part of it all was the bell ringing so intrusive I assume it was a service bell as there are many potential covers over a spread out area but very few servers not pleasant at all.

This used to be a good place to go for good food and few drinks...Not anymore. Poor service with having to ask for missing items from orders. Most of food was nicely cooked, but hit and miss with ordered steaks. Ordered beer and had Tetley Tea instead...Not very pleasant experience

Superb Sunday lunch as always and saddened that the manager Janet is leaving. We've been here many times and Janet always is happy friendly and always put the customer first. A true professional and a benchmark in how to provide excellent customer service. She will be really missed.

Ok the new menus is perhaps bit sparse but there are some interesting new additions. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger & fries. Service was good. I will return for lunch or an evening meal.

Met up with three friends for lunch.The restaurant upstairs was nice and we were served quickly and the food soon arrived.The four of us had the Hake and chips for a fair price but things went downhill rapidly.One plate the fish was ninety percent bone and all fish inside the batter was soggy as if it had been cooked from frozen.The chips tasted strongly of old oil.All in all unpleasant food and we would not go again.

My wife and I visited Pontypridd today for the first time, and we found this gem in the Town Centre. As soon as we entered the atmosphere was superb. We decided to order the lunch 2 course meal, which was outstanding. The bar and waiting staff were professional, polite and efficient. The premises was spotless and service was fast. If you visit Pontypridd, visit it for a meal, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

As the resident DJ on a Friday and Saturday, music from 8pm till late, grill upstairs, the food is fabulous worth a visit.

Lovely food all cooked lovely and tasted nice, service was a little slow on the drinks but it was very busy so it could have been down to not enough staff. Have visited on a number of occasions and always enjoy. Will definitely be visiting soon. Highly recommend

Had a lovely evening meal out with my partner at this restaurant. The food was of excellent quality and good prices. The desserts were better than expected and the service was great. This has definitely become a new favourite

Alfred’s was fairly quiet on the Tuesday evening. The place was clean and tidy. The food was the star of the show, delicious and fresh. One of the nicest bits of fish I’ve had in a while. Although, we thought service was a bit of a let down. Nothing wrong with how friendly and helpful the staff was. More about attention to customers, such as we weren’t asked how the food was, the coffee took ages and waited a while with no server in sight to ask for the bill. Had to go in search of one to pay. You’d expect slightly better, especially when it’s a pretty quiet Tuesday evening. Overall I’ll definitely be going back again, just wish there would be a little more attention to customers (hence the removal of 1 star).

A dozen or so "old Ponty girls" celebrating Christmas and life long friendships. We had an amazing time, well looked after and food was fab, great price too. Thank you Janet of Alfreds 😊 🎄🤶

Had a family meal there and a few drinks, quite a few of us and the experience has been brilliant, great food, good drinks, lovely friendly staff, and this was a first time going here for a few of us, even the price was good overall, couldn't fault the place if in completely honest!

Started off well children meals came Frist there was a started that came quickly then our dinner bearing in mind we had two young children they then forgot about us several waiting staff passed we made it clear we had finished our meal but there was no attempt to clear our table I had to get up and ask a waitress that was standing chatting to the chef to bring us a sweet menu and clear the table

Alfred's bar was really amazing the staff were lovely and the food was stunning. A bit of a trek to the restaurant area which was up quite a few steps but they do have a lift. There's quite a walk to the lift too as it's right in the back, however you can park at the back and then you'd be right by the lift or the stairs but we didn't know that. But once inside FANTASTIC" food and we will definitely going back soon.

My family and I visited this restaurant last month for a casual meal. I was told that it was very fish orientated and served good quality, authentic food. Not the case. Yes there is fish, I felt as though it was average which is fine. My only issue is with how bland and unappealing the food is. The menu wasn’t very exciting or sophisticated, the overall ambience was boring and the decor just doesn’t know what it’s doing. Don’t make the effort of coming here, Tesco could probably do the job.

Intriguingly mixed reviews here but can only elaborate on my experience which was excellent.The staff were absolutely lovely, and especially well trained and warm for younger, probably inexperienced staff.Food was absolutely perfect, best calamari I've had in ages and probably because - I'm sure that's what I saw - the chef freshly coating it (fresh squid too) and cooking to order, which makes all the difference.Their ice machine had clearly broken, which was unfortunate, but unlike other lesser restaurants they had the sense to run to, whenever, and buy some. Problem solved in all of 5 minutes, whereas some places just wouldn't have the sense to!Great value, we enjoyed the set menu, but pricing was pretty reasonable all round anyway.Looking forward to returning.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and a wide choice on the menu. Would definitely recommend

Awesome place fantastic food what more can I say 5 stars

I have to say the staff worked really hard today, however, table was booked for 16.30. not seated until about 16.50 and our starters didn't arrive for an hour - pate and soup were lovely, prawn cocktail had the very minimum of sauce, didn't cover the prawns.Pork and beef were overcooked, roast potatoes on one plate were hard and we had to ask for gravy, apple sauce. There were trays of what looked like prosecco and orange juice but not offered to us. Deserts were lovely, but you can't go wrong with icecream. Really disappointed to be honest and not to their usual Sunday lunch standard. For an extra £6pp I'm not sure it was worth it

....we were told by a waitress the soup was vegetable so ordered it only to find we were delivered mushroom soup? It was very nice but not what we expected. I ordered duck 2 way not expecting the 2 ways to be one way tender (leg) & one way tough (breast)? Also we had bottle of wine but no wine glasses were brought for us? I had to go to the bar & help myself. We asked for a doggy bag for the meat & bone but the waiter only then returned with the duck meat? He apologised but he clearly wasn't listening when we asked & showed him what we wanted for our dog. Service was good generally though i suppose, it's comfortable in there & they have clean toilets..

Terrible service, complained to the staff. Food was good, we had to ask for drinks , chips , we had nearly finished the meal by the time they came . Dessert menu had to be asked for , because the choice of menu and quality was good would return, even though service was awful

Excellent meal last night with the other half to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Great atmosphere, brilliant service, extensive menu and really tasty food. Photo of half the dessert because I got stuck straight in. Creme brûlée is a weakness of mine.

Recently visited for the second time with my partner who has been a regular for some time. The restaurant area is well laid out with a nice style. The staff are welcoming, pleasant and efficient. Great choice on the menu with a fine selection of fish. The scallops and whitebait are the best I've had. The venison and duck were superb with generous servings of both with lovely sides and sauces. House wine was most acceptable too.

This is my mother in law’s favourite restaurant in the area so we decided to book here for her 60th birthday meal, there were 14 of us and it was a Saturday night with the rugby showing. My first time here, first impression wasn’t great.. just as we pulled up outside, a young boy in chef whites came out through the front door with a box full of wine glasses, hand down his pants… had a good old feel.. continued to head over to Blueberries a couple of doors down, I know now they are owned by the same people. So not a great start. When we first went in I was shocked by how big it was, really nicely decorated, modern, spacious. Like I said before, the rugby was showing so it was packed downstairs and very noisy, so we were quickly shown upstairs where the rest of our family were waiting for my partner and I. Upstairs was again very well decorated, with an open kitchen and fish/meat bar on show. We were sat by the balcony. My sister in law had gone early to decorate the table with banners and balloons, when she returned after an hour or so, one of the big 60 balloons were missing, she asked a member of staff where it had gone and they replied that one of the drinkers from downstairs had spotted it on the way to the toilet, taken it of our table and back downstairs with them.. of course she asked why no one stopped them when they clearly saw it happening and they shrugged… didn’t care one bit. Odd start. As someone who works in the trade, I was fully expecting table service to be standard considering they are serving an a la carte menu and there must have been 15 servers on shift. No such luck, so I ordered a round of drinks at the bar with a very young boy who didn’t seem to know what day of the week it was. Starters arrived (all three courses were pre ordered) served again by very young waiters, our plates were basically chucked in front of us, no care taken, no smiles, just miserable. I had the chicken and chorizo which was served tapas style, which was very tasty with tender meat. Our mains came out very quickly, I had the chicken florentina, nicely presented, nice flavour but it needed something more, either veg or a salad, instead I had the option of chips, fries or potatoes. My partner had the sirloin, nicely cooked but very expensive at £25 for just steak and chips. A few of the meals were sent out with the wrong sauce on, we pointed this out to the waitress, again no apology, just snatched the plate, the service was possibly the worst I’ve ever had. No one came to check on us, we all agreed the food was lovely but the service is not doing Alfred’s justice. We then had a little break before our desserts were served, at this point the rugby had finished and downstairs then turned into what looked like a bar/nightclub, the lights were down low, there was a Dj and it looked like some tables had been moved to make room for a dance floor… all fine, but upstairs was playing different music, and as we were right next to the balcony we could hear both sets playing, and it was very loud. We could barely hear ourselves talking at some points. We found we were shouting at each other. We then witnessed who we thought was the manager, presumably because he was dressed in a black waistcoat and a lot older than the rest, flirting with one of the young girls, he then stuck his hand behind the glass screen protecting the fish counter, picked the head up of one of the bigger fish with his bare hands and was using it to talk to the young girl, both thought it was very funny… we didn’t, especially when he moved straight from there to his office area, no washing hands, no sanitising, disgusting. Just after that, one of the chefs, (not in a white jacket) so maybe assistant took a piece of raw chicken from the meat counter and used the same tongs to pick up a steak…. That’s a big no no, anyone who has taken the standard food and hygiene course should know that is bad practise. This was all on display, god knows what’s happening behind the scenes. Dessert arrived, I had the strawberry pavlova, again delicious and looked beautiful. We enjoyed our evening, the bottle of Rose I had was one of the nicest I’ve ever had, but the staff were the most miserable I’ve ever come across, all looked quite scruffy too, with a lot of the girls shirts gaping in the middle where they had an ill fitted shirt on. When we paid the bill, no one asked if we enjoyed… no goodbye, we could have been in a Wetherspoons at that point. With such terrible service and a lot of bad practises going on, I probably wouldn’t go back.

Visited the restaurant this evening for a family birthday. I have to say the meal itself was excellent cooked and presented to a high standard. However, the service was shocking. The meals were very slow coming out then by the time all the sides etc were out the main meals were cool. Between each course we had to find a member of staff to clear the tables, order drinks etc. Nobody came to check if everything was OK with the meal. Then when we were ready for our bill we again had to find a member of staff after 15 minutes of trying to get the attention of a member of staff. Although the meal was good I will definitely think again before dining there again
