Alexander's Cafe in Flintshire

This is possibly one of the best pizzas I've ever had (and I've been to Italy and had pizza there). Its a lovely restaurant either a nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

It was late in the afternoon when we called into Alexanders. The owner was very friendly, the cafe was busy and the atmosphere was so peaceful. We had a late lunch which was so nice. I would highly recommend calling in to Alexanders

Very basic and poor presentation of the food. Ordered a sandwich which came on cheap thick bread and nothing else at all! No garnish at all

Really good small independent Pizza restaurant. We tried it during Covid times as a takeaway and they were always good. Tried the restaurant last night and where not disappointed. Laura and her husband were excellent. The food was fresh, delicious and not slow in being served. No problems here

An excellent Cafe. Called after intending to go to anther place but that failed to open - please it didnt! Lovely clen place and very pleasent staff. Had 2x small breakfast tea & coffee came to abou £20.00. Good quality ingreadiants used. Will return. Pizza looked good to. Be warned popular - full at 9.30am

Working in Mold, gave it a try. Don't want to sound pompous, but I consider myself a pizza/pasta expert, having travelled/ worked throughout Europe including Italy, the pizza I had was up there with the best, and it was free, the order was wrong for a diner and I just happened to walk in for a takeaway at the moment it came out of the oven and was offered it free of charge, very kind. Super toppings so fresh, the dough, wow. Wish this place was in South Wales.

We had to wait for a table as they were busy fair enough ordered our drinks then we asked for 2 cooked breakfast was told they had sold out this was at 11.15 breakfast served til 12 asked was there a bacon and egg sandwich server goes to the kitchen and says yes great asked for poached eggs on toast was told she will have to ask in the kitchen told yes sorry but how hard is it to boil some water and put an egg in it? Food came out then we noticed a couple of tables who came in after us were having full breakfasts which is what we asked for left it a few minutes and asked the server the question only to be told oh yes someone went out to get more bacon sausages etc after complaint and making it very clear how under valued we felt as customers will not return why didn’t someone just say popped out for more bacon either come back in half an hour or enjoy your drink will take your order when they get back poor management skills and left us feeling poorly treated

Blown away by the pizza here! This was my first visit, with a friend, and we will definitely be back. The owners do what they do best: friendly service and a passion for incredible wood-fired pizzas. Quite simply the best I've ever had (including New York City)!

Visiting the area from south Wales and had just returned wet and cold after watching Wrexham AFC. Pizzas and friendly staff definitely cheered us up no end. Excellent food -will be back on our next trip up north.

Drove into mold for a takeaway but changed our mind and decided to have a sit down meal. So glad we did. Amazing pizza, great atmosphere and Fabulous drink. Will definitely return

Came here with my daughter in law for a belated birthday celebration. Excellent service, simple menu but still lots of choices. Ordered pizzas which were prepared and cooked from fresh, The lovely man who served us took our order promptly. Pizzas were served straight from the oven and were delicious, authentic taste and plenty of toppings. Great value for money. Definitely worth a visit and we will go back soon.

Visited Alexander’s for lunch yesterday. The staff were incredibly friendly and even let my children see the Kitchen and help with making their pizza. A great place to visit x

It’s been a while since my wife I popped in for Breakfast at Alexander’s. As we don’t live local. The owners have obviously been busy during the lockdown ..With the addition of a wood fired 🔥 pizza oven!! 😃 and change of layout. We visited a little late for the breakfast cut off. Which is 12:00, but they were happy to accommodate our breakfast request. The ingredients were excellent & cooked to perfection 👍 and the café latte & hot chocolate were lovely. The staff were courteous, polite & professional. The owners’ & staffs’ hard work & commitment shines through 🙌 We will return again & will have to try a pizza & a wine on our next visit 🥂 🍕. You are doing a fab job & stay safe 😃

Really lively Saturday morning breakfast. Quality of the ingredients was excellent and a perfectly poached egg. We also ordered lava bread which was delicious. Staff were friendly as was the general atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend

What an amazing find, smart place with an easy going atmosphere, DELICIOUS PIZZA, homemade sour dough prepared to perfection, home made brownie too, doing it properly, a real treat!

Some of the best pizzas outside of Italy. Service was good and we were really well looked after. The pizzas were excellent with quality ingredients, fresh basil and tasty tomato base. Definitely recommend and we will return soon.

I visited here one evening while staying in the area and had a couple of takeaway pizzas and a couple of brownies, all fantastic! I had a pepperoni pizza and my wife had a veggie pizza. Both were a good size with lovely pizza dough...

Tried this pizza house for the first time - tastiest pizza I have had in a long time. Nice thin, crispy base, plenty of topping and the bonus on a Wednesday and Thursday is buy one get one half price. Would highly recommend trying Alexander's

Ordered 2 pizzas from Alexander’s last night. The service was friendly as always and the homemade pizzas were delicious! A great cafe now turned into a pizza restaurant, will definitely be returning and can’t wait for it to be open to sit in.

We had 2 quality take away home made Pizza. Thoroughly enjoyed and very tasty. Would fully reccomend for people to go and try for themselves. Support a local business who are trying to venture in something different in difficult times.

Called in this morning with two friends for breakfast, we all decided to have the small breakfast, it’s actually a good size, everything was freshly cooked and tasty, coffee was nice too, definitely go back again. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Dont really know Mold very well after a bit of shopping found this lovely cafe for a spot of lunch, but decided to have the small breakfast which was delicious and good value for money The service was excellent The menu had good choices and prices very reasonable Everywhere was clean and staff were very friendly When we are in the area again would definately visit again

Large breakfast was excellent and the latte was nice and big. Great that you could laverbread to your meal as well. Service could be a bit friendlier though. There were three people working, yet you still had to ring the bell on the counter for someone to come into sight. Initiating a chat with the customer would also be good. However, the coffee and food were prepared quickly, and fresh. Would recommend.

Came in today after popping to the markets with my friend and I will definitely be returning. My friend had eggs Benedict and I opted for the Mediterranean salad - absolutely gorgeous just the right portion and great quality food. Not to mention the staff, hardworking and each one had a welcoming smile! Lovely experience at Alexander Cafe thank you - we will be returning.

Called in for lunch while visiting the Wednesday market. Excellent filling sandwiches and a fine pot of tea.

Had breakfast here with my beautiful girlfriend.The waitress was lovely and the food was excellent.Why go to McDonald's or any generic chain when you can have real quality food, served by a lovely waitress?The fried eggs were perfect.Thank you, you made the start to our day very nice.

Avoid if you’re a vegetarian! I ordered penne carbonara which comes either with bacon or asparagus. I stated clearly to the waitress that I wanted asparagus not bacon and she repeated the order back to us correctly. It came with bacon and I sent it back, saying I was vegetarian and this wasn’t what I’d ordered. When the ‘correct’ order came, it didn’t have asparagus but I didn’t have the heart to send it back a second time. I ate some and discovered tiny pieces of bacon in it so it looked as if they’d just scraped the bacon off it and served it! I let them know and they said they’d tell the chef. I am shocked that this happened because I’ve always liked this place and trusted that it was vegetarian friendly! I felt sick for the rest of the afternoon.

Popped in today with my wife, after a lovely walk up Moel Famau. Such a nice cafe. We had amazing eggs benedict & pot of tea for two. Great quality food & service. We will be back again 👍 keep up the good work

me and a work colleague went to the cafe on a friday mirning having never been in mold before for food so didnt really know where to go and this place was the first we stumbled across, we went in and were served quickly, my mate ordered 2 sausage sandwiches one with a coffee and one with an orange juice and he went to pay, the staff member said its ok you pay later so we sat down and wsited for our food and drinks, it came out and it was pretty meagre in size and the drinks were nothing special, luckily for me my mate said he will pay and went up to pay and it came to £17 absolutely scandalous, if they had prices blatantly obviuos to customers i would have turned around and walked out but the fact they make you pay after you have consumed your food is a dirty tactic, absolutely disgusting behaviour I hope they go bust. onky gave this a one star rating because there was no option for zero.

Called in at Alexander’s for a breakfast during the week. Decided to have the small breakfast. But changed the beans for another egg. Came with a piece of toast and a small glass of orange. Had an Americano coffee with hot milk. This was an extra charge on top of the cost of the breakfast.

We had lovely meals here today food was excellent and staff excellent but was spoilt by 2 dogs who kept barking and then shared the food of there diners plates.... !,,,,we ate and left and other dinners paid and left!!!! Let’s hope they clean and disinfect the table as this isn’t nice for visitors or people who are going to sit next on there table...let’s hope you review your policy of allowing dogs in your cafe as it takes away a lovely dining experience...( unacceptable dogs paws on tables and eating of them!!!!)

We decided to treat ourselves to a Saturday morning breakfast and are so glad with our choice. We both had the big breakfast and the quality of food is very high and beautifully presented. Lovely staff and prompt service. Great way to start the day.

We’ve been coming to Alexander’s since it first opened. Standards have been excellent throughout that time, not an easy feat. The coffee is superb, and consistent. Warm scones are a favourite, as is penne carbonara.

We called here for a breakfast , was the best I’ve ever had , the staff are lovely , food made fresh to order . Its a gem of a cafe great find , we will be back . Thank you .

Called in for a quick lunch , well i say quick , thought it would be as there were no other customers in at all apart from myself and my friend . Ordered a sandwich and a pannini and waited 20 minutes , just not acceptable ! Food was ok ,the brown bread was quite hard ( didn't appear fresh) and my pannini was toasted to within an inch of its life but i was starving so wrestled with the knife to get it cut . Lots of chips in the saucer which should never have made it out of the dishwasher and in to the restaurant . Having read the reviews i'm sure it was just an off day . Waitress was lovely and welcoming as was the lady who delivered our food from the kitchen , just a shame the lunch was average . If anyone had cared to come ask us how everything was i would have said exactly what i'm saying now , but no one came !

An exceptional cafe possibly the best cafe in Mold. A spacious building that is very cosy. The staff are very friendly and happy which puts the customers at ease. Every effort is made to make the customer content from the presentation of the food to jovial atmosphere.

Alexander's is becoming my 'go-to' meeting place in Mold. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they smile - and mean it. Happiness is contagious; and the coffee is perhaps the best in Mold - which is a big call when there is so much quality competition..!

Sat down and waited, and waited...and waited. Staff tidied around us and no one bothered to come over to greet us let alone bring menu. Not going there again especially with so many other good cafes within spitting distance.

Popped to Mold for the day and noticed Alexander's Café so went in for a hot drink, Landed up having breakfast as well. The food was excellent, you had plenty on your plate and very good value for money. The staff was very friendly and helpful but it was very busy. They didn't bring your drinks until your breakfast was served, which suited me as many a time I have finished my drink before the food comes. Will be returning.

When I go to Mold it is usually either to visit the Nat West or the dentist both of which are near Alexander's and near to the car park. The breakfasts here are really special and all the food is good and well-cooked and served by really pleasant and friendly staff and a variety of reading matter is always available and the art-work on the walls is striking. A very convenient and pleasant place to visit.

During a trip home to Mold, I discovered this cafe where Platts newsagents used to be. Poached eggs one morning,bacon sandwich another. Food and coffee great but best of all.the service is fantastic. Easy to see why it's so popular. Will be my choice every time I come home !

I love to come in to Mold when I visit my mum. This is my second visit. The first time I had a very healthy English breakfast with local produce. This time we’ve just called for a latte and Danish. I’m impressed again! The latte was served differently, you pour your coffee yourself on to the warm milk. Making quite a milky coffee. My mum loves it. My only comment is personally I’d like stronger coffee but like the idea of pouring it myself. Cosy, smart, modern cafe. Popular with the locals. It’s opposite Mold church, which makes a pleasant Vista as you relax.

When I asked the staff what they had gluten free I was told by the staff “sorry we don’t do anything gluten free” i eventually had a few elements of the vegetarian breakfast cobbled together but with no guarantee of no gluten contamination, even their baked beans weren’t gluten free (which I have never encountered before) the food was very greasy and they don’t take cards with no mention of this until you see a tiny sign at the till.

I have been a handful of times for food. Started as I will go with a friend then ended up going the week after with our husbands. The most amazing breakfast and coffee. I have and will continue to recommend it to others.

We have walked past Alexanders many times especially on market day and was always busy. This week we decided to call and have a late breakfast. The cafe is only small, about a dozen tables, but was clean and tidy, and the service was quick and the waitresses pleasant and cheerful.

My family and I have visited here a few times and it is now a regular spot for us to come! The staff are warm, welcoming and friendly! A lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing, the vegetarian breakfast is the best I have ever had! Great value for money. 100% recommend this place, even just for a quick coffee on the go!

Busy little cafe in central Mold - friendly service. I only paid attention to the breakfast menu (albeit at 11.30 am). Good choice of items with some traditional Welsh dishes thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed what I suppose was the 'full Welsh' and laver bread. Hope to go again one day.

This is the second time we have visited this cafe ... both occasions we have been kept waiting for over half an hour but this time i am compelled to write about it.We visited Alexanders for two simple small breakfasts and after a three quarter of an hour wait without any sign were forced to leave so as not to incur parking charges.Other people arriving after us all received their meals and on questioning the staff about ours i was given blank looks and offered no explanations as to why our order was taking longer than any one else's... If the staff cannot cope with service on Saturdays then more staff should be brought in... if visiting a fine dining "cooked to order" establishment then a certain amount of service time is expected ... but not for bacon and eggs!!!!We will not return to Alexanders and my partners parents who regularly visit have decided to avoid from now on.

Its nice cute coffee shop, went with a friend to get hot chocolate, it was very nice and a great price.

Had a great lunch here. Pate was on the specials board and I ordered it. The plate arrived with a lovely slab of pâté, a mixed salad, lovely artisan bread and a delicious onion marmalade. It was a feast!

First time ever in this cafe but recommended by family. Served large and small breakfasts. Food was hot and freshly cooked. Bacon grilled and sausages good quality and lovely free range golden eggs perfectly cooked. Lovely Bistro style Cafe situated opposite St. Mary's church on the High Street. After several visits over the last few months this well kept eaterie ticks all the boxes in the busy market town of Mold, Flintshire.On each visit we found the staff to be very pleasant and attentive with a fair knowledge of the local sources of the food on offer when asked.The food itself was good and well presented and although the prices were slightly higher than their competitors, it was considered fairly good value.

Every time I have visited here for breakfast it's large one they offer never fails to impress me and is consistently good value and I can highly recommend it in a really nicely decorated venue with great staff who are all very attentive.

Bright, pleasant and comfortable atmosphere with lots of regular customers looking really relaxed. Not a lot to choose from for a vegetarian with a big appetite but I assume it just snack meals offered. There is a menu listed on the board on the wall which hasn't really changed in the past few months and creamy pasta was my only option which isn't my favourite dish.My choice was 'veggie' breakfast which came with scallops which were a bit undercooked and as I am always searching for griddled food I found the meal a bit greasy and I could have ate a lot more so ordered more toast. Maybe there isn't demand for vegetarian sausage but how delicious a griddled home made one would have been. Still looking for a healthy veggie breakfast in Wales!

I love coming to this place. It has quite a classy feel but doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. The food is always excellent, and good quality, coffee is the best I've had anywhere. The staff are so polite and friendly and can't do enough for you.I've started coming here over the last month and it's definitely going to be my regular place to go.

Been a few times on market day for breakfast- very good too. Ordered the cawl special, avocado and prawn salad and a BLT. Prompt, friendly service and the food was delicious.

We have had lunch here several times. The staff are friendly. The service is good. We love the paninis which are always freshly made. The coffee is always excellent. We haven't found anywhere better to eat at lunchtime in Mold.

Looking for somewhere to eat a light lunch in an unfamiliar town can be a bit frustrating, as you don't know which a good one is until you see it...and hopefully that isn't after you've eaten! Alexander's was definitely a good choice, and well worth passing other cafés on the High Street - head towards St Mary's church if you're not sure of the town's geography. The place was busy, but it was evident that customers felt able to take their time to read the newspapers or to catch up with friends while they eat their food. The staff were friendly, working well as a team, and were aware of customers' needs, whether they'd taken that particular order or not. Drinks were brought promptly while the food was being freshly prepared to order: my bagel with cream cheese and local fried bacon was delicious, and very reasonably priced too.

Alexander's is a GREAT cafe! Hot drinks are all SUPERB! From the nice and rich americannos to the really nice lattes!Spoilt for choice on breakfasts. You can keep it simple with amazing bacon sandwiches to full English or even eggs benedict.A must place to go to if you are in Mold!

I have been to Alexanders 4 times in four weeks. I started going there instead of my usual cafe because a friend suggested it, though it is expensive, the food is very tasty and it has a nice atmosphere. 2 times previously I have ordered the breakfast with no problems. Today, my son and I asked for the mushrooms to be swapped for sausage or bacon and the girl stated that you have to pay extra for this. The breakfast is the second most expensive in all of mold at £6.95 (does not include a drink either) and they won't even swap a breakfast item. Every single cafe in mold offers this. I was going to start using it as a monthly meet up with 8 other colleagues, but we will be spending our money elsewhere.

Breakfast was good quality, service was pleasant, atmosphere very quiet could do with a little background music. Over priced for a breakfast with the cost of a coffee on top.

Good food but the special board is always the same ! Newspapers available to read but the room is rather echo -y- could do with some soft furnishings to absorb sound.
