Hidden gem in ayr, five 🌟 No more need to go Italy 🇮🇹 I used to travel lake como, Milan, Venice for authentic Italian cuisines. Trust me Aldente ayr food is much better. I visit this family run restaurant all the time.

Very disappointing. Bread in bruschetta was stale. Main courses too salty.

Just moved to Ayr a week ago and the two times I've ordered, the delivery man was rude and has now put me off wanting to order in future. The first time was great, the pizza was authentic, the cheesecake was lovely and light. It all arrived hot and fresh. The delivery man was smarmy about not getting a tip and at one point, once he had made a fuss about me using cash, wasn't going to hand me the pizzas etc. This second time, the food (including calamari) arrived later than the ETA time, cold like it had been sat out a while. We had even preordered. We rang the restaurant and without questions they seem to know which order we were referring to and sent out the same order again, apologetic. When I opened the door, the delivery bloke greeted me with a sarcastic "is that warm enough for you?!" I didn't say anything as I was surprised he was being so hostile. He backpeddled and made an excuse about not having a warm bag to keep the items inside of and blabbered on. I was pleasant with the driver despite his poor attitude. I think it's fairly reasonable to expect to have your food delivered fresh, with a delivery driver who isn't aggressive. I would suggest reviewing your delivery drivers and their attitudes. If they were more pleasant, they might recieve tips. The overall experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be ordering a takeaway from Aldente again.

Been here quite a few times now & the food is always good. On my last visit a few weeks ago, I brought my own bottle as I had in the past, only to be told I could not have it as they now have an alcohol licence. Now that it's no longer 'bring your own bottle' I don't think I'll be back.

Strong menu choice and variation. Specials board a welcome addition and not pushing the expensive dishes. Nice experience, good food, calm and warm service, good value.

Went as 2 couples for a meal . Our first time here . . We reserved a table for 4 but when we arrived the person that took the booking didn't tell them that we'd booked . .2 of us had lasagne 1 had pizza 1 had the carbonara . The carbonara had to be sent back as the sauce tasted like peppercorn sauce and not the creamy sauce that you'd expect . . The lasagne was like 2 sheet of pasta with mince over the top . No cheese no white sauce too be seen . . All in all we were let down with the meal . And won't be back as we'd wasted £100 . The meals are not cooked by Italians as the name of the restaurant would make you think . . .

The food was amazing, although a little bit salty in my opinion. But despite that, everything was a lot better than I expected for a small place like this. The portion is really good compared to other restaurants out there.

Nice place. Great pizza. Service not great. I think one wee girl was just learning though. Asked for icecream. Gave up waiting. Missed out on that payment. I know staff are like hens teeth at the moment but staff need to look keen at least to clear tables which shouldn't need much training. Maybe next time it'll be better.

Sorry won’t be back here for dinner ! Staff very young and service dreadful! We booked a table but the young man we told that we had a reservation ,didn’t acknowledge it??? I had Carbonara which had small slivers of pork in it, not bacon and mushrooms like I expected but that may be the Romano version?? My husband had chicken! Meals not served at the same time which is basic surely, when we asked for them to be served at same time please, we got looked at like aliens from mars! I was asked did I want Parmesan ,then a dish was plonked in front of me to do it myself! Desserts very disappointing especially the home made tiramisu ,which tasted of exactly nothing! Big let down for an Italian restaurant! Again one dessert served at a time, then on the third trip we got spoons! One of which the waiter dropped on the floor but brought to the table anyway! As has been said they have No license for alcohol despite having been open for a while now! Chef had no chef whites on and a flesh coloured plaster! Isn’t it mandatory to have blue plasters in a kitchen? Won’t be back ! A real shame, we visited this place when it opened and got take out which was excellent, chef was young and Italian and we wished him all the best! Really disappointed on our first and only meal dining in, that we had promised ourselves for ages! Standards seem to have slipped since then!

Very good food and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the seafood Risotto and the Scottish Penne.

Could do with an alcohol licence so one doesn't have to bring one's own booze.

Was genuinely surprised, was really nice, small and intimate wee place. Food was great, portions plenty, just wish my nephew made it 🤷🏻‍♂️ You can bring your own bottle which is good 👍 Service was on point, go visit this place 🙏 Keep up the good work 👏

Went for my birthday meal and it was fantastic. First time I've been and very impressed. I can't wait to go back. I would advise booking as not alot of tables to avoid any disappointment. This restaurant is located on the main road heading to Ayr so parking is a little tricky.

Absolutely delicious pizzas they taste amazing. The food from this restaurant is first class and I would absolutely recommend it. The first time we ordered was through just eat and through no fault of the restaurant the pizza was very late and arrived cold. Tonight ordered straight through the restaurant direct and pizza arrived quickly, hot and was amazing . The calzone is jthe best in town its absolutely delicious, so fresh not geasy or heavy made to perfection 😋👌.

These guys really know how to create an authentic Italian pizza. I've left the photo of the beautiful pizza they made me for a special occasion. It was a perfect balance of crispy base with wonderful toppings and flavours. I can taste that quality ingredients have been used and that the temperature of the pizza oven is absolutely perfect. Also it was delivered within 10 minutes of me placing the order. I was about half a mile up the road but even so that is very very fast and it was piping hot. I will definitely use this company again 👍 Thanks guys 🌻

On walking in, I almost felt like I was being confronted when asked if I had booked a table. The service was a real mixed bag, not overly attentive, not overly friendly but a semi effort was made. The pizza tasted good. The pasta seemed of good quality and was nice and thick. The pasta sauce had a kinda weird musky flavour to it... not unpleasant but unexpected. The venue is far too small for the amount of tables crambed in. It's uncomfortable and the busier the restaurant got, the more uncomfortable it felt. Sorry... it just didn't live up to the reviews, that have been left, for me. You can cook a better meal yourself by following Vincenzo's Plate on YouTube.

Very Poor. Ordered via Ayr Eats . . The pasta was disgusting and cold. The bread again cold and the wrong drink. It was late. I gave clear delivery instructions. Very poor

Italian cuisine is my favourite and over the years I have been in many restaurants and thought I had a good meal until tonight, food was outstanding, staff a delight, so warm and friendly, this is my new place. Well done to the chef, you are a genius xxx

My daughter and I stopped there for a quick dinner. We ordered Garlic bread and Pescatore pizza. I must say the quality of food and affordable prices surprised us. The waiter was very helpful and working hard. Our pizza and Garlic bread was absolutely delicious. We are delighted. The ambiance is very relaxing. It's a nice cosy restaurant with yummy food. Highly recommended.

Looked forward to visiting Al dente but found it to be very ordinary, both food and service were nothing more than ok. Shame, could've been so much better with just a bit more effort and imagination !!!!

Lovely restaurant. Food was to a very high standard. Staff quick and efficient. Prices extremely reasonable for what they were offering. Very impressed and for sure would return again.

Been in search of a decent pizza but sadly this wasn't it. Very odd tasting pizza sauce and oily cheese. Had a couple of slices but couldn't eat any more. Are there any good pizza restaurants in ayr? I wish would Paesano open a restaurant here!

What a breath of fresh air this place is. Food is absolutely gorgeous and so fresh. Portions and prices are fantastic. Its nice to have somewhere like this in Ayr that does fresh seafood. Absolutely brilliant find. Great authentic Italian food prepared with fineness and care. I had the Calzoni. Everyone tried the pizza bread. Light and full of flavour, would have eaten it all without the filling. Can not wait to go back. Big thanks to the staff, especially the chef.

Had fresh seafood specials salmon starter ordered flounder with pasta was the told it was a smaller portion so was given a portion of seabass with it at no charge we also had desert All the dishes were delicious and good size portions plus you can take your own drink The menu is reasonably priced we only paid more because we had the specials including lobster Definitely going back

Newly opened 5 mins from our front door. Food was great , pizza bread was light and crisp. Fish and pasta perfectly cooked. More space inside than I expected, will be back.

Looks can be deceiving! Don't be put off with the fairy lights or frilly curtains this place is a hidden gem, the food is superb and properly home made, authentic Italian style, you can taste the difference! Highly recommend! Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Review for Ayr - Prestwick - Ayrshire folks… Went to Aldenteayr tonight for the first time with a booked in table of four, food was absolutely spot on. Authentic Italian and thoroughly yummy. Four starters, all different ones, and all delicious! Four different mains up next…. 2 x Carbonara, one risotto and one mixed fish spaghetti … all swap-a-licious-yum ! Props to the chef. Cringe - greedy - don’t judge - we had desserts. One fresh fruit, one cheese cake, a panacotta and a tiramisu. Again couldnt fault them. Well done the chef and btw the waitress was also brilliant. Ps forgot my glasses and the chef ran up the street with them after us 🙈 Thank you all for a lovely, never rushed, great food, chilled, full up to burst - night xxx

What can I say? Absolutely delicious meal. We had the lamb chops and haddock to start. Then the chicken and mushroom fettucini and carbonara. Kids meal a bargain with hand made fish goujons. All the food including the pasta was freshly made. Cannot complement the chef enough. 2 courses for two adults and a child £44 bargain as its byob with small corkage fee. They do delivery and takeaway too. Will be back soon.

Pizza and risotto were lovely. Tiramisu and panacotto a treat. We will be back. BYOB
