Albert & Michel Roux Jnr Restaurant in South Lanarkshire

Our visit was when Covid restrictions were being lifted and need to be viewed in that context. We stayed in the Lodge and wandered down for dinner. The wait for a pre-dinner drink was somewhat longer than we would have hoped and that reflected the service level throughout the meal - somewhat slow. The food itself was of a high standard but not truly memorable. We will return, I hope!

Muy muy agradable. Desde cócteles en el salón hasta todos los platos en el restaurante, todo estaba muy sabroso. Particularmente disfrutamos el souffl de maracuyá y la tabla de quesos.

Nuestra familia cenamos aquí durante su estancia en el castillo, y todo sobre la comida fue excepcional. El comedor era elegante, el servicio era profesional e impecable, y la comida era creativa y excelente. Esto es exactamente lo que debe ser una buena cena. Nada podría haber sido mejorado; Nuestra experiencia fue perfecta. Este es un lugar muy, muy especial.

Amazing food, just what you expect from a place carrying the Roux name. The tasting Menu and paired wines were perfect. I would certainly recommend this place for that special occasion meal.

Wow y wow Desde el momento en que llegas a los hermosos terrenos de crossbasket, sabes que va a ser bueno. Usted reserva una mesa para el almuerzo y se muestra a través del encantador hall de entrada a la zona del bar, donde la experiencia comienza a disfrutar de un canapés y bebidas mientras lee el menú. La sala del restaurante es magnífica, bellamente decorada y amueblada y vajilla prístina. La selección de pan es generosa, cada plato de comida es delicioso y no solo se ve perfecto sino que sabe muy bien. Fabulosa selección de quesos. El personal es eficiente y servicial. Los baños también son prístinos. Bien vale la pena el esfuerzo de venir aquí. También puede comer en el salón del hotel desde otro menú. Todo se ve muy bien. No se ha encontrado una falla. Definitivamente volveré y lo recomendaré.

If you are looking for that fine dining experience then one should book into the hotel and go to the restaurant. Outstanding is all I can say

It is always a good sign when the front door of a venue is opened from the inside by the receptionist just as you approach. This level of attentiveness and care lasted throughout our whole visit. Every single team member we encountered was attentive without being over-bearing; friendly, efficient and everyone seemed genuinely pleased to be there. Lunch menu choice was perfectly adequate - three options for each course - and we were both able to easily make a choice, Better to have three outstanding dishes than page after page of mediocre food. Quality, flavour and presentation was absolutely perfect for every course..

The degustation menu was lovely and complemented by the wines chosen to accompany each dish. The dessert was disappointing as there was so little of it. Otherwise we enjoyed every mouthful on the menu.

Recommended by a friend the Restaurant and Location are excellent. Went on a Monday so no full service but a great simple lunch offer in the lounge was great. Attentive staff, wonderful almost secret location. A recommendation for anyone. Simple rustic style lunch offering but hot and cooked well

Super restaurant in amazing settings. Welcoming staff, personal attention and amazing food. 3 Course lunch was a revelation, the Hot Chocolate Mousse to die for. Go visit!!

Had the good fortune to dine here 2 Fridays ago. Emily Roux is definitely a rising star in the chef world and should be praised for presenting food of this standard in an area which lacks proper fine dining. The castle is absolutely beautiful and the dining room is superb. An interesting menu from which we dined Al a Carte. Nice nibbles and amuse bouche followed by lobster mousseline beef and cod. All dishes of a high standard presented perfectly and well explained by a great service team. An interesting cheese board then well made delicious chocolate soufflé's to finish. I liked the wine choices the dessert wine Vin de Constance being the highlight. Also the Roux Brothers Pink Champagne is a must.. The staff are a credit to Chez Roux all very polite and willing to chat including maitr de and manager. Very reasonably priced for this standard. we would both thoroughly recommend this fabulous restaurant. Thank you.

Breakfast at Crossbasket Castle is not only special because of the immediate surroundings, but because the food is fresh and presented in style. Service is impeccable. The bread basket with sweet rolls & croissants is huge and satisfying in and of itself. Afternoon tea at the Castle is also something that should be experienced. Fantastic, delicious fun!

The canapés were a treat. The brioche burger and chips were lukewarm. Afternoon tea would have been better value for money.

We had the tasting menu which was beautifully presented, the provenance of each course was explained to us as it arrived, the attention to detail was first class, the breakfast the following morning had the same attention, wonderful.

The tasting menu was brilliant. Scallop tartare being my favourite. The cheese cart selection was fantastic and the paired wines really matched well with the dishes. Speed of service was perfect and whilst it was fine dining it was a warm and friendly, nothing was...

We visited for dinner with friends about 3 months after the venue opened. The castle has been well fitted and looks the part. Food was very good standard - the lobster bisque was exceptional. A couple of things stop it getting my full marks: 1....
