Since this pub has now ceased trading- allegedly available to buy via future property auctions- it is a shame we cannot savour the unique atmosphere of Texas in Paisley.

Western theme ain't my thing, but a good friendly pub for a few on the way home. Ways pop in when taking the old man for a few pints in Paisley.

We are on a road trip in the UK & arrived in Paisley, Scotland. I looked on Trip Advisor for a good pub not too far from our hotel & there's one called The Alamo & being that we are from Texas we just had to go. Very friendly folk there. Lots of fun. Local people that love to go to Bandera TxX to a dude ranch. We hung around for a couple of hours. The had a few sandwiches but nothing more in the way of food. We had fun & danced the 2 step to show them how. We will visit again before we leave. It was very welcoming & friendly. But don't count on it for a meal.

Excellent pint and hospitality at the alamo bar, can spent ages looking at the decor every item tells a story. Excellent for last pint before seeing your team at St mirren park. One of my favourite pubs in Paisley

Okay so I just had to type that line! I visit the Glasgow area fairly often and before the Saints football games this is a great pub to have a few pints and the famous "free pies". Staff are very friendly and prices are good, especially considering the free pie or two. The decor is complete faux Confederate (maybe one of the last places to have the Rebel flag flying) but all in all good fun. Not fancy but friendly. Give the Alamo and Paisley a visit - it is a town worth visiting outside of the phoney tartan tourist areas.

The wee cowboy that runs this bar is a hoot and his dry sense of humour might give you the wrong idea. He's a real character and his female staff are a laugh a minute. You might have to wait a while for that minute but it's worth it when it comes, ha, ha. Anyway a crowd of us go before every St. Mirren home game which is only a short distance away. At 2pm the free pies come round and if you are lucky you get 2 ! As the name of the pub suggests the décor is all about the Wild West. If you are into cowboys and Indians, get yourself down there for a few pints and check out the guns, rifles and bow and arrows. I believe the also do quiz nights and live music now and then. There aren't many of these wee bars left in Scotland, so get down and have a drink in it before the Red Indians capture it. This is a man's bar but women are welcome!

The owner who is apparently known as "chady" told me to wait til a cowboy song he was listening to had finished before he would serve me and my partner even though he was the only one working lol. The guy should just retire cos he couldn't run a bath never mind a bar.
