AL-SHAKOOR The Restaurant in Bradford

Absolute disappointment. I ordered tawa grill last night and paid so much for it to find out that the food is not good in taste or even cooked properly not just that but the chicken tikka was raw and don’t even mention the sheikh kebabs they were more than raw literally. I wouldn’t waste my time here. I wish I returned it back but finishing work so late in the evening didn’t had time to go back.

Visited Al-Shakoor which is located on Leeds Road. There is on street parking available and bus service with a 5min walk. Visiting from Scotland we were treated here by friends. The ambience is great. The food took a while to come out and I noticed others coming in after us were getting served their food whilst we were waiting. Once the food came it was great. Everything tasted fresh and portions were generous. Food was full of flavour and I would definitely revisit!

Nice food. Good authentic taste. Donner in particular was lovely. We had the tawa 5 with special donner. 7 of us including 2 kids. Everything was demolished. Portion size could be improved as wuldn't be enough for 7 adults overall nice gem of a place.

Al Shakoor is One of The Best Eateries on Leeds Road. Good Fresh Food All The Time We've Had. I've Been to This 4 Times Now with Family or Friends and Always Had Their Big Tawa. It's Worth The Price in Every Aspect. Big Enough to Share and We Always End Up Taking Our Left Over Food Home as Well. The Price Seems Huge But It's Worth It. An Elder Brother There Always Very Welcoming & Very Helpful. The Young Kids Working Inside Sometimes are a Bit of Let Down Cos I've Noticed They Pay More Attention to Their Phones Behind The Counter Than The Actual Customer. No Need to Book & We've Always Managed to Sit In Straight Away. Cash Only BTW but Can Accommodate Bank Transfer If Really Needed. Highly Recommend This Place & Suggest To Help Local Businesses Around Us. Our Local Businesses Need More Help Than Ever Before From Us Thanks to The Lack of Interest From Governments & Local Councils.

I've been here a few times and the experience and food is top quality. The tava is simply lovely, great tasting variety of food. The restaurant is quite local to me and I'll be going back again very soon.

Been ti this place last week with a guest and ordered tawa for two which was really good in taste and quantity as well. The lamb chops were really tender but the size of the chops were not as expected and the curry was a bit dry. Overall its was a nice experience.

They reduced portion size. We ordered tawa for 4ppl and ordered fish and malai chicken boti as well. This menu could not fill up.

First time visit after approx 8 years, had heard great things and reviews seemed good and I love a tawa so was excited to try it but boy oh boy what a disappointment, lamb chops were good, chicken seekh kebabs were ok not much flavour, chicken tikka boti and wings drenched in a spicy sauce to hide the cheap cuts underneath I can only imagine as were extremely chewy, 2 rotis and 1 naan given, both fine, plenty of chips, bits of salad thrown on top, but the main issue is the curries were shocking, never had anything so bland. I came for that proper tawa taste of the karahis and spent my time eating chips. Sorely disappointed. You could barely differentiate between the meat and chicken if it wasn't for the slighter darker colour of the meat one. Super disappointed for the price. Will not return. Service was brilliant. Friendly chap, kept things ticking.

Firstly I would like to start of by saying. Ma sha Allah may Allah bless the owner and business ameen.. Absolutely brilliant food. The Tawa was superb!!. Everything was cooked amazingly. Also got fish pakora which was cooked succulent. The sweet lassi was fantastic. 10/10 service. Will 100% definitely come again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Was looking forward to a nice tawa meal, my 1st visit after a number of years, but very disappointed with the food. The service was very good but everything just tasted the same no flavour very bland. Its not exactly cheap aswell.

Visited on a Thursday Evening. Not a soul on site. Thought the shop was closed. In fact no one else came during our entire stay so it was eerily quiet all the time we were there. Ordered a Tawa for 2. A bit pricey given the fact you have to pay extra £4 for donner. Drinks are pricey too. Food was good though. On street parking. CASH only however they accept bank transfers too. HMC Approved.

Went there for Iftar with friends after hearing so much on social media and reading so many positive comments. I ordered tawa for 4 which wasn’t enough for four and food was average too but naan was very good

The food was great, as a tawwa it has everything you would expect. The real stand out in it was the lamb curry. We paid for the regular Tawwa but they kindly served us the special, which adds chicken pakoras masala fish and a couple of other bits, all on the house. Service was exceptional, friendly and entertaining, we were really well looked after. I would highly recommend it to any parents trying to satisfy the demands of fast food for their kids whilst wanting something a little more traditional themselves. All in all an excellent experience, and I'll surely be visiting again.

Probably one of the best Tawas in Bradford. Everything has amazing flavour n the things we ordered separately were also on point. The service was on point very polite and advised us what to get based on what we preferred. Definitely recommend. Just a little tip for the owner to maybe get abit more lighting in there it was very cosy and nice but just a tad dark for kids.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff are very lovely, hard working and friendly. This restaurant is family friendly and has a lovely calming atmosphere. The food is delicious and filling. Our entire Tawa was cleaned up with no food remaining! There is plenty of indoor seating and the prices are very fair. Overall would definitely recommend 10/10

Lovely food me and the family had a tawa which we thoroughly enjoyed . Added the special Donner which was really flavoursome. Rest of the tawa nice and we included extras like malai tikka boti and seekh kebabs. We included drinks aswell. Overall a very good experience if you liked tawas etc. The bill was just under £50 which is reasonable I'm guessing. Only negative is it's cash only (but they do bank transfers). **8/10

After a long day of wedding shopping, we were starving, and the Tawa pictures online looked SO GOOD! Our table of 8 was greeted with a warm welcome. The interior of the restaurant was nice, clean and very on brand. The Moroccan lights looked beautiful. The menu was simple-ish, but a bit outdated. Nit the items, but the actual menu itself. Also, no rice dishes were available. That didn’t bother us though - ee went for the Tawa! We ordered the Tawa meal for 8. Service was quick, but as a fee large tables arrived together, some items e.g. our mocktails took longer to arrive. Again, not a bother as it was evident the staff were trying their best. The Tawa did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious! The meats were so tender and succulent. So much flavour! We polished it right off! The only downside - it’s cash only. Will 100% go back.

We ordered a variety of food: mixed platters, cheesy seekh kebabs, lamb chops, wings. When I tell you everyone including the children finished off the food. The owner was very polite and respectful… over all had a good evening and the food was great. The place was clean and tidy too.

Went with my family of 12 last minute and they sat us down straightway. On ordering the brother saved us some money advising us the best tawa to order which I really appreciate. And lastly the food mashallah OMG was amazing. It all went down a treat and came out so quick which was great as we had kids with us. We were not rushed and our server made such an effort with us and the kids ensuring we had everything we needed. Would recommend.

This restaurant was hands down great, the food was spectacular, the service was beyond great the manager went to the shop for lollipops for the kids how sweet definitely recommend this place.

We travelled here from Newcastle upon recommendation tonight and were so happy we did. We had such a wonderful welcome and hospitality was fantastic. A real home feel, which was lovely. The food was incredible. We had the tava which had a bit of everything, such good quality and variety - it was great to sample all of the delights. Recommend this thoroughly especially if you aren’t sure what to have. We cannot wait to come here again! Thank you again for the delicious food and kind welcome.

I meet a friend in Bradford 2-3 times a year. We have our regular solid eating places and rarely deviate from them. Pushed the boat out for a change and thought we'd give Al-Shakoor a go. We were greeted by the gentleman known only as "Syed". He doesn't do surnames, he only does tawas. So we looked to him for some reassurance that we weren't making a huge mistake - imagine visiting Bradford and having a bad meal, that would be unacceptable. Anyway he said, "If this isn't the best tawa you've had in your life, not only will you eat for free, but I'll sack the chef in front of you. And the chef is the owner." Big words. Challenge accepted. Tawa for 2 with the special doner then Maestro. To cut a long story short, 45 mins later, Syed got paid and the chef/owner will never know how close he came to standing in the dole queue. Good job lads. We'll be back insha'Allah.

Where to start, amazing customer service and above exceptional food presentation. The chicken was to die for and was accompanied with a beautiful blend of lamb which was mouth watering. Platter for 4 was adequate however still had me asking for more after! Would highly recommend and will most definitely be coming back all the way from Nottingham.

Ordered a king of tawa for 4 people It contained the following items... 4 chicken wings, 4 chops, 4 chicken tikka, 4 sheekh kebabs, 4 pieces masala fish, 4 chicken pakora, special donner, lamb karahi, chicken karahi, 2 naan, 2 roti, chips and salad The portion of the chicken and lamb karahi was small also tasted bland, lacked flavour but certain grill food was nice and flavoursome, tasted nice. Wasn't a fan of the special donner also as jyst tasted tangy to me... the size of most of the grill food was on the smaller size Overall, the tawa was nothing special, definitely OVERPRICED in my opinion Everyones taste buds differ and opinions are different but thats my take on it.

Everything was not just delicious but brilliantly prepared. The flavors were exceptional, and the quality of the halal Pakistani food exceeded my expectations. Went in for a tawa off 6. The taste of chicken wings and chicken tikka was very good. Lamb Chops was next level, Donner and both karrahi dishes were really good. The naan and rotis were excellent as well. Service was good. Would definitely recommend visiting.
