Very disappointing first of all, they lost my order. Had to ring them three times before they eventually found it so the food arrived an hour late I paid £38 for two main courses of Bland watery flavourless curries. Tasted as though they had been cooked sometime ago and simply reheated.

Food was amazing, warm welcome, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this place, definitely best in town!

Visited today with my family of 14, the decor is extremely impressive, clean and modern. The staff were very attentive, polite and welcoming. The food was great, especially if you love spice!! Youve got a big car park to the rear, great food at a great price and top quality service. Thank you to the team at Abu's for looking after me and my family and I'll be sure to visit again in the near future.

Visited here for the 2nd time for a family meal. Restaurant was warm and inviting and everything clean and sparkling. Drinks were brought quickly and soon after orders were taken. Our Poppodoms arrived and we tucked in. One of the waiters overheard my son saying that he could eat two, so he brought him an extra. Great customer service. Each and everyone of us complimented the food, my Pathia was nice and spicy, just how I like it, not dull and boring like some. Will definately be back soon for more

From the friendly welcome to the excellent service and food it was fabulous from start to finish. We were a table of 9 our food arrived altogether and it did not disappoint. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

One of the best restaurants in the town. There was 7 of us and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. Intense flavours and all freshly made. Service was excellent, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated making this an idea choice for special occasions! I’ll definitely return!

Visited with friends on a Saturday night in September and the food and service were first class. My Madras was excellent and the wife loved her Shashlick. The restaurant has a nice ambience and the seats are possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever sat on in a restaurant. Having had a bad experience at Bombay gate due to rude staff we were looking for a new “go to” Indian and we’ve definitely found it here…imo this is the best in Darlington for food quality, ambience and service. (The toilets are posh too….it was a pleasure to have a wee here). 10 out 10

Always really tasty food, with decent spice and flavour in different dishes which sometimes is difficult to find. Welcoming and friendly staff every time you go in, definitely recommend.

Incredible place! My whole life I’ve been restricted to eat certain cuisines because of my peanut/tree nut allergy and this place is totally nut-free and only uses coconut powder, which is a fruit powder! My boyfriend and I ordered a takeaway and it was amazing!! I ordered a passanda and it was really good. Will be returning and probably order everything on the menu overtime, as I’ve never been allowed to eat indian previously so this is a whole new lease of life for me haha!!

What a beautiful premises they have moved to from the old place. The service is excellent and the food is out of this world. New decor same old amazing food and service. What a gem we have in Darlington. Such a friendly and family atmosphere at this family run restuarant. We tried the super sizzler starter between us and everything on there was perfect. We had the lamb parsi, chicken tikka masala and a chicken bhuna for our maims with a range of different rices and nan breads. Spooning the mound of spice herbs and meat gently towards my chapped dry lips resentment came over me. I can’t. I’m married. As if in an instant the enjoyment from the stench of curry and naan became sickening, what was I about to do? Ruin my life for what? Passion, prejudice and parliamentary persecution of emotion. Nolonger could I edge on the hope of gnawing on the teets of ambition while suckling on the derier of defeat. And to you my friend my omage goes to you, in faithfulness and succulence I leave you to make your own journey. To make not become fingered by temptation.

Day trip to Darlington, with lots of choice of Indian Restaurants, Akbar's has plenty of kerb appeal. Our visit was an excellent choice and highly recommended. Upon entering the restaurant, greeted by a friendly man and shown to a table. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, especially as it was a cold January night. There was plenty of choice on the menu, so together with the poppodoms we chose chicken madras & chicken mumbai kharahi. Both dishes hot and very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and will return if visiting Darlington again.
