Volveré a visitar pronto!

Bonito lugar. Comida bien. Servicio terrible. No puedo justificar precios altos y ser tan amateur. Definitivamente, este no es un restaurante de “alta gama” como dice que es

The quality of the food is amazing! Everything we ordered was fresh, prepared and presented very well. Reasonable prices for Japanese food. We did order a glass of Chenin blanc wine and had to send it back and choose a different wine. The Chardonnay tasted much better and I’m pleased to say there was no dispute of having to pay for the wine we sent back. Waiting staff cheerful & helpful. Would definitely visit again!

Exceptional addition to the restaurants in Muswell Hill. Enjoyed some excellent dishes, especially the prime rib seared at the table on a hot stone - and the crunchy skin on the teriyaki chicken was a treat. Nice vibe with a great manager and delightful staff!

Great food - you must try the chicken teriyaki on the hot stone, it was to die for. The rest of the experience was amazing, the restaurant is always busy. Great addition to Muswell Hill.

Came here with friends for a pre-Christmas lunch and had high hopes. We left hungry and somewhat disappointed. The food was distinctly average and over priced for what you get. I ordered the chirashi don. The fish was so thinly sliced it was practically transparent. The proportion of seafood to rice was also very stingy; 6 very small pieces of fish and not as appetising as the pictured in the menu. The waiter was advised but appeared somewhat clueless when it came to customer service. The only positive was the black sesame ice cream, which was probably bought in. If you want better average sushi in Muswell Hill there are a couple of other Japanese restaurants which do it much better. If you know your sushi, I would avoid this restaurant.

As Japanese restaurant goes, it's not very authentic. Agedashi tofu didn't have light dashi. Instead, you get Thai sweet & sour chilly sauce, which most certainly was from a bottle. The cuts of karaage were small and batter too heavy. Which means, every piece was pretty oily. The batter for tempura was also not right. The two rolls we ordered, one was drowned in sauce and the other, just bland. In either case, the rice wasn't the right kind and also a bit soggy. The best dish we had was the simple sea scallop nigiri sushi. Fresh and firm. Odd selection of sakes, too. It's either nigori (unfiltered and sweet), sparkling (yuck!), or both. There isn't a huge demand for either. Overall, the food is okay, but could be so much better though. As it's a new restaurant, I'd hate to see it fail given how much efforts went into the decors, selections of tableware, and presentation of the dishes.

Fabulous service backed up by excellent food, delicious flavours presented immaculately. My canine friend was welcomed with the poshest dog bowl ever and he loved the rice balls. Will be back regularly

Akatuki held a soft launch for locals to see how the restaurant compared to the other two established sushi restaurants in the village. First impressions have to be that time and effort (not to mention cost) has clearly gone into the décor. Everything from the plates, chopsticks, sake cups, etc. look awesome! Not so sure about the metal trolley that is used to ferry the hot stones though. I really wanted to be wowed by this venue, but sadly our experience was not that positive when it came to some (not all) of the food. Various sushi dishes arrived dry (especially the eel). Some of the maki rolls unwrapped before they left the plate. We were also put off by the fumes caused by various other tables cooking meal on the hot stones. In my opinion, much better ventilation is needed. We quietly brought observations to the attention of a charming waitress, but nothing happened. No one came, nothing was addressed (even though a soft launch in a local restaurant is the perfect learning opportunity for customer and venue). We left disappointed and will probably stick to our other local Japanese eateries. I hope experiences for others are better as the restaurant looks fantastic.

Exceptional food, we were bowled over by the quality of the dishes. We had chicken gyoza which was delicious, salmon teriyaki was a great appetiser for two and my main was chicken katsu curry. We had a sushi roll with wagyu beef. Service was attentive and welcoming and great to see a busy vibe on a Friday night. Booking advised, we'll definitely return!

Rude staff, left me waiting for over 35 minutes for a coffee. And serving everyone else. Wierd attitude towards me and was warmer to everyone else. Maybe racial bias. I also find it wierd that the owner on other reviews tries to discredit the long wait times with claims of watching the cctv? How would you know what any of us look like on cctv? Please just staff friendler people and probable more hands on deck?

Good food, nice staff. Just showed up and got a table for 2. Service was quick and efficient. Starters + Meal + Drinks + Dessert = Less than £30! Complete bargain for the overall quality. Will revisit in the future.
