Stopped in for breakfast today, Sunday 23rd March at 1000. Warmly welcomed by all staff. Extensive breakfast menu and reasonably priced. We had a full Scottish and Avocado, salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough bread, 2 coffees, with the total =£35, leaving a wee tip.

Dog friendly and lovely lunch spot. Clean and well presented restaurant, and a wide menu. Food was tasty, prompt and very reasonably priced. Extensive drinks menu for alcoholic and soft options, again very affordable. Our dog was made to feel very welcome, especially by the young man leading the team. We will be back!

We had a very last minute stop in Kirrimuir with 3 young children, it was approaching 5pm. We walked into a busy Airlie Arms and although it didn't look like they had space for us, they quickly reassured us and got us settled. The food was fresh and delicious and came out of the kitchen very quickly, and all the staff were so pleasant, approachable and happy to help. One particular server really stood out and his name was Aaron, he was an absolute delight and so friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to others. Thankyou for a lovely experience.

Quiet and sensible place downstairs so ok for a quiet drink and the rest of the place is all tables for food. Was busy when I was in so that's nice to see, clean toilets although the lock on the door didn't work! So if you don't fancy chatting to people opening the door while you are on the throne this isn't the place for you. Food was all basic and hot. The two lasses serving were obviously working hard but still had a laugh, so give them a pay rise. Good staff are hard to find these days.

Went for lunch today I had fish and chips peas was good! My friend had soup and baked potato combo prawns tasted sour soup was very good she got a black hair in her prawns! Yuck told the waitress she apologised and said the prawns were made up fresh every morning! She could only apologise for the hair! She did get money off her meal she had to pay something because she’d eaten all the soup and most of her potato! Harsh shouldn’t have had to pay anything for substandard food!

On a break with my wife staying outside Kirriemuir. We had an early dinner at the Airlie Arms, a place we have eaten on many occasions. The Airlie Arms is lovely, clean and service is always great. However, both my wife and I were less than impressed with the food served. I had the Hunters Chicken burger and my wife had the beef burger. I ate a few bites of chicken and found it lacking in flavour. We were surprised to see the beef burger was not handmade. Most restaurants we visit have handmade, easy-to-do. My wife felt unwell and didnt finish the meal apart for the fries. It's a shame that the Airlie is our go-to place when we visit Kirriemuir. Don't know why but the food is not their usual standard, and you expect burgers to be handmade even in a pub.

I stayed at the Airlie Arms while on a hill-walking trip in the East Cairngorms. The location was excellent for the trip that we were doing. Also nice to visit some of the quirky sights in the town (Peter Pan Statue, Bon Scott Memorial). The staff were great and I really appreciated their help to reunite me with my waterproof trousers after I accidentally left them in my room after checking out.

Dog friendly and didn't have to book in advance. Staff were all lovely. Food all looked really fresh and was presented nicely too. Unfortunately it was all just a bit tasteless though. Nachos could have done with a bit more flavour. Would have loved jalapeños, the chicken hot and the cheese melted. The tomato and basil pasta dish was a bit disappointing in the flavour department and the pizza crust was slightly undercooked and doughy.

The pizza was quite good, but the cheese is quite poor. The tomato pasta was fantastic though as was the fish. The spicy tomato soup was quite flavourless though. The staff were amazing and very friendly. The service was quick and the atmosphere was very warm and homely. I would return but would not order the soup. I would still recommend this to others wanting a nice meal at a good price. Its dog friendly aswell.

Plenty of choice on the menu nothing overly fancy just good homely food. I had starter and steak pie main, this was very good with a rich gravy. Surroundings are modern and clean and good service from the waiting staff. One down side was a younger guy sitting with a pregnant woman continually swearing, this is not a bar more a lounge dinner and totally out of order. Loud mouth.

Pub on the outside but more like cafe tables and desert display on the inside. Soup was very nice but waitress bit dour. Tea was loose leaf in mesh but it stewed too quickly and I couldn't drink it. Didn't have it taken off the bill. Okay if you want good food but no atmosphere or happy staff.

Outstanding meals and great friendly service, this is a dog friendly restaurant and does have some polite requirements regarding bringing dogs in ,such as the 4 bark rule , whatever that is. However ours didn't bark at all, so we still don't know what it meant. The food was outstanding and very well priced. Next to the Royal Mail and Police Station,it is easy to get to from the free public carpark.

Good quality freshly cooked pub food. The Tuesday night fish offer was excellent value (Arbroath haddock). The steak pie met with approval too. It was busy, but the staff were helpful and we had a drink while we waited. There aren't many dining choices in Kirriemuir, but you won't go wrong here.

Booked in to the Airlie Arms for dinner. We were shown to our table and ordered. Good choices on the menu. My wife opted for 2 starters, soup then prawns. I had the soup and tagliatelle carbonara. All the food was delicious and served with a smile. Despite living in Kirriemuir for 13 years this was our first visit to the Airlie as we normally don't do pubs but this will not be our last visit. Friendly and attentive staff and delicious food.

Whist staying in the area went here last night for my birthday meal, the food was very nice the only let down was the chilli & garlic pasta with king prawns as couldn’t taste the garlic 😢, seemed like sweet chilli sauce was used(which I don’t like so there was no kick which I was hoping for) & I feel £2 for 5 prawns a bit steep albeit very tasty. The garlic bread with half mozzarella & half blue cheese was proper mmm😋. The cocktails made by Alex were very nice & at £6 each a real bargain. All the staff were attentive especially Alex & young Esmé. We shall defo dine here again when we are back in the area. One quick suggestion if you know it’s a birthday meal a bowl of ice cream 🍨 on the house or similar would be a cheap but nice touch 😘 On a big plus it is dog friendly 🐕

Clean. Staff super courteous and efficient. Food great. The nachos are just superb, layers of delicious cheese etc throughout the dish. Steak night was super super value and the steaks were so tender. My partner loved the burgers. And we could bring our dog in, and not have to leave her in the car. Nice ambience. We picked up a Tikka Masala, the sauce had no spice, it was like tomato soup, its was awful, the whole lot went in the bin. We will not be back. Took it up with Just Eat and they said no refund, even attached pictures showing it was in the bin.

Best chippy in the whole of Carnoustie and Monifieth. Loads of food in suppers and cheap. The other chippers in this area are just taking the Mickey min with tiny portions of chips and tiny fish suppers. Steeple along the road is extortionately overpriced along with Seaway in Monifieth and both places served tiny portions
