The bowels of the earth after half an hour waiting for Mac and cheese there no cheese. Re ordered fish and chips never arrived pathetic. The woman with the flame red hair eventually got off her butt and her ear bud to give me a refund What a dive. The upside the wee bar man was very apologetic. But my stomach was still empty. Cheep drink but a complete dive

A particular place, more for students

THE place in St Andrews for a decent Euro beer, good stock of German, Czech and Belgian beers, both bottled and on tap. Also have a decent selection of British beers and ciders. Also offer a selection of food.

Rude staff, didn’t let me friends stay.

I studied at St Andrews for four years and have arrived at a conclusion: that the British Ministry of Culture should subsidize the establishment of an Aikmans-like pub in every UK county. This place is unimpeachable: there simply are no valid criticisms or objections one can level against this institution. With all the authority invested in me as a St Andrews resident and regular at Aikmnans, I declare all current and future negative reviews of this establishment to be virtually non-existent; they count for nothing.

Rustic old pub. Atmospheric and the Cullen skink delicious

Met up with my son for a bite to eat around 6pm. Had soup and a panini, my son had a burger. The staff were lovely and so was the food. Prices are so reasonable. My husband loves Cullen skink and as he has been ill and not able to go out, I asked the chef if I would be able to get some to carry out. He went out of his way to get a container for this as he did not have one on the premises. One happy husband as the Cullen skink was the best he'd ever tasted. Highly recommend and thanks so much guys.

Only popped in to see a friend but been many times before and always had a great night.

Just dropped in for a mid afternoon pint and bite. Service perfect with bar staff offering tastes of unfamiliar cask ales. Substantial sandwich to accompany, all at very reasonable prices. Bit quiet being that time of day. Perfect escape from tourist/golf St Andrews. Likely to be back for music. A gem💎.

It's a nice bar, with friendly staff. Quite quiet at lunchtime, but still welcoming. The full menu is available in the evening. Lots of student events in the evenings, some live music too. The toilets are downstairs with the cellar bar - a wide variety of rums and whiskies!

One of the best pubs in St Andrews, ne Scotland. Fantastic lively atmosphere and brilliant selection of local Scottish and Continental European bars on tap. Extensive and very reasonably priced whisky selection (many under a fiver). Good pub food and a very reasonable price served til very late. A great place for a catch up with a chum, a wee games evening or a celebration dram.

Fantastic range of bottled and draught beers. Seems to be the only bar in town that's brought back live music after the pandemic. A proper student's pub but old folk are still allowed in.

Cosy bar, Hubby loved all the different beers, Staff were great with our dogs offering water and treats. family friendly lots of games on offer. Didn't have food but looked like very reasonable prices.

A great secret. Maybe best kept that way. Bad pint, had to swap out for bottled beer. That said if you ever wanted to go for a beer and ensure the family never ever find you ...then this is the place.

My favourite bar in St Andrews. They have great live music, cheap food, friendly staff; most of all they have a great atmosphere. This bar follows a European theme with lots of European beers, as well as some Scottish classics such as belhaven best. Seating is available both on ground level and in the basement.with food served in both areas. The toilets have an acquired charm with poetry covering the cubicle walls, less nice is three floor state on a busy evening. Overall best bar in St Andrews for students and young people.

One of my favourite places in the town. The atmosphere is fantastic, with really friendly staff. Great selection of beverages. Hadn't changed much in the 20 years I've been going there but to me there's a certain charm about that. Here's to the next 20 years!

Needs some major improvements to the gents toilets. The staff try their best to mask the smell, but no amount of bleach or air freshener will help. Staff are great and have a good selection of Beers, artisan Ales etc. Food is always good and quick service. Just feels like the owner doesn't want to spend any money on improvements.

The beer selection is average. For a good beer your better off around the corner at the St Andrews Brewing Co. Mostly (if not only) industry beers here. I had a Cesar salad which was laughable.. smallest salad I've ever had with 4 small pieces of chicken. The burger is definitely the way to go.
