We only ordered a cheese naan, tikka mixed grill, starters lamb samosa and onion bhaji; it took over an hour and a half to arrive (we only live no more than 5 minutes drive away) and was tepid when it finally did. Won't be ordering from them again

Forgive the poor lighting (I ate it in the car) Food was amazing, and the staff couldn’t have been more fantastic! Once the chap realised I was eating in the car, he could help but stock me up on loads of forks and napkins. Awesome service, amazing food!

Takeaway only! I'm surprised by the bad reviews. We thought we'd give them a try and ordered all our usual bits and pieces. Food was fine, nothing amazing but not bad at all. Dhansak was really quite tasty. It's not quite as cheap as Shapla across the street and they're going to be pretty difficult to compete with but on the whole everything was fine. We enjoyed our dinner.

As always tasty food! 😋 Never had a bad meal from here , friendly happy staff on the phones and delivery drivers!

We ordered four main courses with breads, rice and a couple of sides. When the food arrived we found one of our main meals was missing, meaning that we had to call the takeaway, report the missing item, then wait another 45 minutes for the delivery driver to return to the shop, collect our missing meal, then deliver it to us. Despite our offers of Sharing our food with her, my daughter said she would wait for hers to arrive and we all ate ours without her. The missing food eventually turned up and we microwaved her rice and bread as it had obviously gone cold by now. Very disappointing and put a dampener on what was to be a happy family meal together. Quality of the food was ok, not the best ever but we enjoyed what we had. Would we use Ahmed spice again? Probably not.

I usually leave good reviews but the service and food quality was dreadful. After receiving order we had to ring twice and three deliveries later we got the right order which took 40 mins after the original delivery time. The dishes were cold and tasted all the same... certainly wouldn't use ahmed spice again! When I complained I was told they couldn't understand and was passed to someone else who just said we deliver again! Don't bother.

I was welcomed in by a very polite member of staff on the counter. She gave me a few discount leaflets to look at but after taking my order I was almost vomiting on the restauraunt floor due to the chef seeming to be coughing his guts up in a deafening racket. Having someone like that work as a chef is beyond my understanding and a non -sick chef needs to be cooking not people like this ( I feel sorry for unsuspecting people receiving home deliveries from here). The curry was watery and contained numerous odd small 5 pence piece sized pieces of meat in it which was extremely strange. The unidentified gooey bits and blobs meant that it was impossible for me to eat this curry. A truly shocking place that deserves no respect due to what is completely inexcusable behaviour and most importantly, entirely preventable. Beware.

I've been here twice now but this time I almost wanted to vomit. The first time was normal but today 11 July the filthy looking chef came out onto the reception scratching is hair vigorously like a lunatic. He was then picking a spot on the bridge of his nose while shouting to his colleague in the kitchen in Bangladeshi. If I hadn't already paid for my meal I would have left there and then. The chef then spat in a bin that was by the kitchen door before walking back into the kitchen. On bringing the meal out the chef had one finger shoved in his ear digging at it frantically and all in all, this was one of the most piggish scenes that I have ever seen. Truly filthy and certainly not legal from a health and safety perspective. The meal ? A quarter filled curry with a large liquidised piece of watery slushy boiled potato in it and a runny soup with three pieces of undercooked chicken in it that went straight into the bin. Would I go here again? You must be joking! With manners that resemble extraudinary filth and sickening/disgusting habits, my advice would be to run a mile from this place and given the circumstances even 1 star is far too generous to give to this place.

All of the staff seemed to have the flu when I visitedand was constantly belching. The curry was average but the staff were a little bit cheeky when taking my order

I have had wonderful curries fromm here in the past though all have been delivered either via telephone order or via the online booking method. I would estimate 4 or five of these in total. After visiting a friend in the Town Centre, I decided to sit in and wait for an order being that I was actually already there. I then paid by card and sat down to experience what was a very worrying 15 minutes. Trying to read the newspaper sitting on the chair area in the reception, a horrific barrage of ferocious sneezing for minutes at a time from the chef in the kitchen took place with his accomplice clearly amused laughing out loud hysterically. After the sneezing stopped there was a series of piggish snorting before a shouting in a different language before a pause and another series of laughing and snorting and foreign talking again. All of this was taking place for nearly as long as the cooking wait time took with small intervals of silence in between. The receptionist seemed clearly tamed/oblivious to this and was standing behind the counter playing with her phone like everything was completely normal totally oblivious to what was clearly abnormal. Given the nature of the food being sold and the manners displayed , it would be logical to conclude that there was a high risk of contamination in the cooking process, as it would obviously be almost impossible to think that that that level of extreme sneezing and snorting from chefs cooking food would allow you to make a curry risk free. In fact I would say that it was " extremely unlikely" that food was not contaminated by anything short of a miracle given that even small sneeze particles are know to travel over huge distances. The shame about this whole thing is that the restaurant can actually make good curry dishes and unusually has put all of that to shame through unusual bad manners. This was evidenced by my earlier home deliveries where I would have not witnessed what I had here as I was waiting at the restaurant yards from the kitchen in the waiting area on this particular occasion. In hindsight, it makes me sick to think back at what I may have been eating on those occasions of those earlier deliveries made! On this particular occasion, I decided to take the dish home, rinse the 7 lamb pieces under the tap to eat seperatly and throw away what seemed like a tasty curry ( being that it was impossible to have been able to tell what was actually inside there). It would have been silly to think that no contamination had taken place. Usually the opposite to some places where rubbish/tastless curries were made under high hygiene conditions, here good tasting curries are destroyed by filthy manners. Obviously, 1 star is still far to much to give here given the risks involved but as this is the bare minimum it is the best that can be given. The two stars for service was given due to the counter lady being relatively polite and offering me a newspaper to read on my wait. Very shameful and obviously unacceptable. Naturally, this place will never be used again!

Fantastic food, amazing service, wonderful staff! We ordered Chicken Dansak - flavoursome creamy texture, Chicken Tikka Madras- fresh, great spice levels. Saag Aloo- perfectly cooked tasty potatoes with good spinach, perfect consistency. Egg fried rice was exceptional, not greasy but not too dry. Onion Bhajis were the best we have ever had. Moist and fresh and must be had with the red sauce as recommended... you wouldn’t eat chips without ketchup! 😂 No Indian would be complete without a naan and one peshwari naan which was fluffy and moist with the coconut which I had not tried before and no will never order without! I have heard many local good reviews of this restaurant and it will definitely become a regular order for us. Try for yourself you will be hooked!

Ordered on website at 5.20pm due at 6.30pm. Received email at 6.30pm saying was out for delivery. Website stated order 'Completed' at 6.45pm. No food arrived at 7.00pm so phoned to be told quite rudely its now being delivered. Food arrived at 7.20pm. Food was quite bland, especially the Kurma (even for a Korma). Chicken not fully cooked and was rubbery so was thrown away. Having used this takeaway before, this time was a massive let down. Very disappointed and will not be using again.

Ordered a takeaway at 815am today on the website to be delivered at 6.30pm! Door went at 5.25pm with food Very nice delivery lady who when I advised it was an hour early was very apologetic. She did say that if it was returned couldn’t guarantee we would get it for 6.30. I reluctantly took it. Unpacking it the rice was cold as were the onion bhajas. We’d ordered sheek kebab at £5.95 - you got two small kebabs and this was a main course. Husband not home when arrived but not pleased when he returned home. Took it back and owner was very rude advising rice was not cold - no of course it wasn’t as I’d put it in the oven to warm it up. Really rude and said too busy to do another one for when we wanted. Won’t be returning ever!!! If there was a 0 star they would win hands down!!!!

Ordered from here using the website for delivery. Food arrived 50mins late and was stone cold.... would I order from here again? Probably not!

Very disappointed tonight, ordered a chicken Balti and a chicken Dansak, sauces were identical and neither had any flavour. The chicken was also poor in quality.

I followed the pleasant website and placed a reasonably sized order for dinner for collection at 18.50. The order was accepted and at the payment screen, despite having the option to pay by card, it was not functioning. Instead I was instructed to pay by cash when I collected. I encountered a slight delay due to two road traffic accidents on the way and at 19.05 arrived to collect the order. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. No order and no trace of it! Perhaps it is being delivered I was asked. I doubt it and I asked for collection. Do I want to order now? No! Opportunity lost and will I use them again? I don’t think so. An evening partially ruined. Thanks!

Got given the wrong curry opened it at home and realised. They delivered the right curry but asked for the wrong one back. I just hope they didn’t give it to someone else No offer of a refund no apology no nothing

Before reviewing worth pointing out that the address shown against this take away restaurant is incorrect. It is in Wymondham Norfolk NOT Leicester!Had two take away from this pace over the last five days on the recommendation of our son who has recently moved to Norfolk - and he was himself recommended by a new neighbourAll I can say is so far this is the best Indian Take Away I have ever eaten - simply superb and very good value for money. Home delivery available at no extra cost (up to a certain distance away - not sure how far so worth double checking) Prices are fair and personally I would be happy to pay more such is the quality of the food. Definitely will be using this place again on future visits

Never tried this place up until this week and I personally think it’s my new favourite... the new owner has bought in a award winning chef and the food is fantastic I’ve tried many and I can honestly say this is the best by far ... good food speaks for itself and I can see this place booming ..

We have been using Ahmed Spice for roughly three years.It is a takeaway only Indian that delivers locally. We live 4 miles away.I always telephone the order around an hour before we need it and it is always delivered within 45 minutes. Admittedly this is usually midweek so more time needs to be allowed at the weekend as they are extremely busy.They consistently deliver hot delicious food and the prices are very reasonable.As they are located within 25 yards of two other Indian restaurants who also do takeaway food they have to be good to still be in business after such a long time (and they were in business long before we started using them).

Ha sido comprada en algún tiempo tener aquí ahora y siempre me pareció increíble, no estoy seguro de si su ajetreado (puede llevar mucho tiempo llegar a través de la última), pero un par de veces nuestro curry han sido muy aguada y no picante. . . Es una pena, ya que hasta entonces eran muy buenos, ahora pruebe en otro lugar me temo

Very tasty. Had our usual choice of curry and enjoyed it all. Chicken Bangalore and Bhuna were good - not too spicy but tasty. Good naan and excellent coconut rice.
