Went for afternoon tea last Friday, great experience. The staff were amazing and service excellent. Great choice of sandwiches, freshly made scones and great variety of delicious cakes. Constant top ups of tea when required, hope to return next visit to Inverness.

We were an extended family on vacation and wanted the afternoon tea experience. The hotel had seen better days and you are basically seated in a large room at coffee tables. We were offered coffee or tea; not individual tea or any selection which we’ve seen before. All that said the food was good; tasty sausage rolls and very good scones. The sweets were a bit overwhelming. They were good about accommodating one person with gluten issues and one with nut allergies. The servers were not great; they basically plopped the food down and left. No one checked on us, asked if we needed anything, etc. Pretty clear they were setting up for an event and we were an after thought. If this is the best tea option; give it a try but I’d look harder next time.

Simply awesome. Fabulous food and brilliant service. Amazing. If you want a wine to go with your seafood I recommend a bottle of Reisling.

We ate here last night, 2/11. We believe this is a temporary venue for this fabulous restaurant whilst their other premises are being renovated. We were warmly greeted and seated in a busy restaurant that had a warm and friendly feel. All the food sounded delicious especially the specials. Of the three of us I was the only one to have a starter - the hot smoked salmon tart - delicious! Crisp pastry, tasty hot smoked salmon and rich veloute. My dad the venison which was rich and soft - melt in your mouth tenderness. Whilst my husband a generous portion of seafood pasta - it was tasty, hot and very fresh - he said it was amazing. I had the monkfish special - loin wrapped in Parma ham with scallops. Again delicious! Service was the right mix of friendly and competent. A lovely restaurant serving very delicious food. We will visit again if we are up in Fort William.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

The staff was helpful and very friendly. Even though we slept above the pub and there was a party we managed to sleep there. The room was spacious and clean, classic furnishings, quite comfortable mattress. The bathroom ok. Private parking.
