I had a good experience at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food was good. I went to this restaurant 2 times when in Middlesbrough for the night before getting a coach the next morning. I would definitely go back when next in Middlesbrough.

The place is shut, save yourself a trip.

Starter clearly microwaved & soggy, main was spot on. The interior doesn’t feel rustic it feels old & drab. Reasonably priced food, it’s cheap & cheerful couldn’t complain

A fantastic place to eat & drink with a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend Acropolis unreservedly. Great customer service and friendly staff members. The service is smooth and straightforward. Honestly thought it was excellent. I had the lamb fillet skewers, they were really tasty, lovely chargrilled taste to them. Even the chips that came with it were excellent, proper home cooked chips that were properly browned off, they put most chip shop chips to shame. Can really recommend. Only £12 also, struggling to recall the last time I had a plate of food for £12 in a restaurant that was this good!

The food was fantastic! We went for my Son's birthday tea and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was great and the atomsphere was a lovely, nice and relaxing Greek gem! Will definitely go again soon, the kids want to return again asap!

Went for the first time today and loved every minute, friendly and attentive staff who couldn't do enough, amazing food (we had the sharing platter) and the dessert was delicious and they even put a candle in it for my birthday! Would highly recommend if you like Greek food and a nice atmosphere!

We walked in on a Saturday night, the place wasn't busy so we got a table no problem. We had been thinking about eating in here for a while so had been looking at the menu online. We were seated by a very polite waiter and given the food and drinks menu. Online there was several options for specials but in the actual restaurant there was one special scrawled on the black board. The menu had several options but we both opted for the chicken gyros. The drinks came quickly and the food came almost straight after. The food looked lovely but on closer inspection the chicken was dry and tough. As this was the main aspect of the dish it was disappointing, the salad which was served in a bowl was also a little soggy. I enjoyed the chips,flatbread,some of the salad and the tzatziki was beautiful but overall left dissatisfied.

I came here on a date night with my boyfriend. We were seated quickly and our server was lovely. The overall vibes in there were pretty chilled and it was reasonably busy. The downfall of our visit here was that I ordered a mozzarella fritta for my starter and was instead served a massive block of deep-fried feta. I was gob smacked that they would serve that. The rest of the food was fine hence the 3 star. but do not orde the mozzerella fritta

Ordered takeaway for collection We ordered 2 Gyros & a Mezze starter. The Mezze platter was fresh, tasty, lovely variety and a good portion. The Gyros was v disappointing, the chips, and gyros were cold. The gyros did not come pre wrapped and instead you got 2 small slices of pitta, which is just silly. We were also missing a tzaziki. Tbh totally honest it seemed like 1 portion split into 2. The place has potential but needs to get grip on things again

This place is a gem! From the outside looks a big brash restaurant but inside very humble. The food was excellent. We had the special grill for two and was not disappointed. The meat was cooked perfectly and presented very well. Service was good and will definitely be coming back

Called in for lunch on Saturday, had the loukaniko sausage to start and chicken gyros for the main course. Both were great, an especially the main the chicken was tasty and the chips were very good. It's only a shame that they no longer do the 2 course lunchtime menu as that was excellent value, especially as it's still advertised on their website as being available 7 days a week. I'd recommend the restaurant updates this as it could be seen as misleading.

Lovely food great service. They even played a happy birthday song and brought my dessert out with a candle in it. Will def be back

Called in for a meal, to try somewhere new.. I think it could be the new regular spot. Food was served quickly and with ample portion sizes, tasted amazing and great prices. The chicken was very tender, sauce was extremely creamy with my metaxa chicken gyros and the chips were excellent. Will definitely be returning.

I asked for a grilled chicken salad which was advertised on there menu online. What I got as a main meal was a piece of dry chicken breast and a side salad. Hungry still after eating the small portion at a cost off £8.95. The main waiter at our table was rude by the way we were spoken to. Would definitely not go there again.

Very nice little restaurant in central Middlesborough. Our waiter was fantastic - lots of good banter and recommendations. The food was excellent - I had the meat platter and everything was well cooked and seasoned. The chips are also delicious. They have a great selection of dishes for reasonable prices. It is a relatively small restaurant so I would advise booking at peak times.

I just had takeaways and see my chicken so dry and all my chips are burnt too . So little portion of bread 😢

been here before and the food was lovely, let down this time chicken gyros was not strips of chicken fillet it looked more like some chicken from the shawarma shop, moussaka was more like a dish of tomato sauce with not much meat, potato or aubergine. really let down a d will not be visiting again

Every time I drove to university, during both my undergraduate and postgraduate study I drove past Acropolis and always fancied trying it. Now that I have finally finished at uni, we went in to celebrate my graduation. I can honestly say I’m devastated that I didn’t go in sooner! We had booked a table for 5pm, and turned up a few minutes early, unsurprisingly we were the only customers in the restaurant. However, we were made to feel very welcome and we were served promptly, by a friendly and courteous member of staff. Within a short period of time the restaurant began to fill with customers, and each group seemed to be greeted in the same manner. The food was outstanding, and all 5 of us had a delicious, fresh and piping hot meal. - can’t praise the chefs enough. Only 3 of us had a desert as the main meals were so filling, but once again, the food was faultless. If I could give them higher than 5 stars I would. Don’t miss out on delicious meals by keeping this place on your “one day” list, you’ll regret all the delicious meals you’ve missed out on when you do finally go in.

Wouldn't say its authentic when they can't even get there dips right since when as sweet chilli and mayo been greek should have avgolemono and saltsa domatas ect and the gyros was horrible full of fat got the mixed grill special and everything was just bland kofta had no herbs and spices in it at all the only thing with flavour out of it all was the sausage couldn't even taste the charing of the meat and the salad lack of it wasn't fresh and definitely not greek chopped onion one baby tomatoe cut into two and finger nail worth of lettuce and for 30 pound just terrible will not be going here again there's alot tastier places around town

The food here was absolutely amazing me and my friend Dined here today and wow is all I can say about the food staff was very attentive and friendly I really wish I had some stayed for some baklava but as you can see from the pictures the portions are huge but delicious. If I get a chance to be in Middlesbrough again I would definitely go and recommend this place if you enjoy Greek food.

Went in for first time and was well pleased. Staff very friendly and the food was delicious. We had prawn and calamari for starters gotta say nicest calamari ever had. Then had a mixed grill for 2 which was absolutely spot on, really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be there again

Second time I’ve been here, so took my son and his wife and my husband. It was as good as the first time I eat there. My son and daughter-in-law loved it that much they went back again this week.

Lovely authentic Greek meal, great service and pleasant surroundings - a bit dated but not an issue! A good find on a business trip. Only issue with the food was that I would have preferred rice rather than chips with everything, although the chips were very tasty!!

Had a really nice meal here last Friday evening and decided to go back again on Sunday, hugh mistake! The meals could not of been more different. It was a different chef on Sunday so that might explain it. My Mousaka was swimming in oil and it came with no side dishes, not even a salad, what's that about? My partner had chicken which looked like it had been swept off the floor. The waiter asked if everything was OK with our meal and I said not really and explained the problem. He didn't seem to care and walked off. I just wanted to get out of there so after he had taken payment with my card he said, those two ladies had the moussaka and theirs was dry and not oily at all. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said so your telling me mine shouldnt of been that oily then and he said no!!! What the hell?!!! He offered no discount or apology. My partner said we'll have free desserts then and he bought us one to share, you couldn't make it up. Just dreadful. We will never return.
