My friends hot chocolate from here was to die for, and they have Leith Juice on tap. Plus, if you're lucky enough to get the armchairs but the heater, it's so cosy! Can't ask for much more than that!

6 pounds for a small can of beer. Double the price it sells for in a wine shop.

Due to bar staffs complete lack of enthusiasm for life, for a moment that lasted longer than I would have liked, I thought I had managed to travel back in time to communist-era Soviet Union, serving the brutal Stalin regime and living under the failed Marxist ideologies. Life was hard back then and life was tough for me, now, here, in this place. The melancholy atmosphere made me reminisce of all the good times I had at funerals past. Apparently 5 individuals standing at the bar was going to result in the entire clientele burning to the ground. Were in leith, not the Sun itslef. You would think the candle on the bar was created by oppenheimer. As I stepped foot outside into the world I took a deep breath of fresh air, heard the husstle and bussle of the city, saw kids play in the park, I realised life was good again, it was in fact, worth living for. The dark filter of life inside the bar had been lifted and now seemed like a distant nightmare that over time had been eased by the relentless ticking clock that is time. Einstein taught us that time is not a constant in the universe and now I was thankful that my time in this place was, like time, was not a constant. Yours sincerely, Mike Hunt

Lovely bar with a relaxed atmosphere and a great range of drinks on offer. Staff are all very friendly and attentive whenever we visit.

Incredibly cozy atmosphere, good food&drinks and nice staff! My friend and I were staying just around the corner and had a blast trying some Spritz drinks and Cider while playing Scrabble.

I’ve always had a lovely time in Abode… there are plenty of wines to choose from! Slightly expensive drinks, but the wine has always been lovely. Ideal for a drink before or after a meal in the local area.

Abode has the cosiest bar and vibe, a great drinks menu with local options (which is always appreciated seeing how great Edinburgh's breweries are) and the loveliest team who knows to take care of you. It's my comfort place to go when I need a nice evening before going back home!

Not sure why I've lived spitting distance from this place for years and not visited. Lovely wee spot, delightful beers and awesome tunes!

Popped in for a quick coffee with a friend, the girl that sat us was really cold and seemed almost annoyed at us (perhaps because we only ordered two coffees?). No sugar was provided with our coffees, so I had to ask the waiter and by the time she came back with it our espressos had gone cold. Coffee did not taste good at all. Ended up paying 5.90£ for two single espressos, which is beyond ridiculous for an anonymous coffee shop on leith walk (more expensive than in a 5 star establishment! How is that possible?!). Unfortunately I did not enjoy my visit at this place and I don’t feel I should recommend this place to anyone, keep walking along leith walk as there are far better places.

Nice cute cafe bar with good variety of drinks. We ordered a mimosa and a green tea. Service was also very nice. Would recommend it!

Trust me avoid this place they don’t deserve our money, first thing to change is definitely their attitude especially with customers, very rude and disrespectful. Avoid!

Very pleasant, great wine and snacks.

The Abode, in fact, is the best kept secret if you are looking for an afternoon coffee. If you're looking for a better coffee you had better pack your bags and get on a plane France or Italy because you will not find one on these islands. The owners take coffee very seriously, but that is only tempered by their wine selection. Their wine selection is only is at the mercy by which France, Spain, Italy, and other great places is willing to send them. They have an awesome selection of local beers. I can never settle on choosing which one--much to the annoyance of the staff! If you need that cheekie late night caffeine boost, forget that Jägerbomb nonesense, the Espresso Martini is what will set you right. Now, I am a simple man, and sometimes I just want a hot chocolate. Their hot choc will set you right if you have had that long day ...

Unfriendly staff, charged 5.60£ for 2 single espressos which is beyond ridiculous for a bar on leith walk, more than you’d expect to pay in a 5 star establishment. Coffee was average, no sugar was provided when it arrived to the table and when we asked for it the waitress seemed annoyed at our request and almost questioned us on how much sugar we needed for our coffee. I’d been there for drinks on a number of occasions and felt this was a little cosy bar but after this last visit I doubt I’ll go back again.

Great service. The bar staff are really friendly, even going out of their way to do us a shot that isn’t on the menu. A really nice selection of drinks here and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Here for the weekend & found this great place on Leith Walk . It such a friendly welcoming place . The staff were really nice & service for first class . A great selection of wines . First night just had drinks but went back another night & had the cheese ‘ & charcuterie platter . It was delicious & such a reasonable price . A hidden gem in the midst of city . Can’t wait till we can return again

We had lunch at Abode on Saturday and had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever!! The coffee was great as well as the friendly customer service. We'll definitely be back.

I’d never been here despite living near by for years. Walked past it loads. First time here, loved it. Super nice staff, incredibly friendly. Good menu (orange wine and sangria! Very unusual). Everyone is lovely. Will definitely be back!

Nice relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and knowledgeable about the great selection of wine and beer. It's got a good wee outdoor section. Have been several times and will keep going back. Felt safe too, all the covid measures in place.

Just came here for a drink and it had a fantastic atmosphere. I was impressed with the choice of beers and wines by the glass. They are doing so well with keeping things safe during the Covid epidemic.

I came here for a first date and the staff could not have been better. They checked in with me that everything was going ok in a discreet way and I felt fully safe and supported if anything started to be weird. I would highly recommend their drinks menu which is extensive and very decently priced. The social distancing they have in place is effective and it’s just a wonderful place to support during the new world order. Will be back!

We chose Abode Bar to meet up with friends and we wanted to try something new. We were not disappointed. From the miunute we arrived we were made to feel extrememly welcome. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks including artisan beers and wines. We shared a bottle of Torrontes and had a sharing board which included delicious cheeses and meats which complimented the wine perfectly. The staff were knowledgable and so friendly! The music selection was great and helped to create the perfect atmosphere. We will definitely come back to try some more of their lovely wine selction.

We visited this bar whilst in Edinburgh for the day. It was a fantastic little bar. Brightly decorated. Very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Had a real cosmopolitan feel about it. An extensive range of wines and beers. Will definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

The Abode Coffee Shop opened in autumn 2019 and provides good, reasonably priced coffee with friendly service. We particularly enjoyed the comfort of the two armchairs.

I was in Abode yesterday and it was just lovely! The atmosphere was so welcoming and the service was fab. I enjoyed a mulled wine in such a cosy corner of the bar and to top it off my doggy was welcome too!! Amazing place. Thank you!

Delightful new bar. Very friendly and nicely mixed crowd. Everything is still a bit too out of the box fresh but I'm sure it will weather in over the next month or so. Will definitely be back. Leith Juice FTW.

Loved this new bar! Such a warm and friendly atmosphere and the owners really make you feel at home. And a really exciting wine list with a great variety of wines from all over the world, including Lebanon. Loved the Neropasso red from Italy, so rich, silky and smooth! Will definitely coming back!

Absolutely fantastic! Such a warm greeting as soon as I walked through the door. Great wine list. The beers on draught as well as the bottled selection are all winners and the sharing boards hit the spot perfectly. The owners were so lovely that I will definitely be back! If you are in the area or even if you aren’t... you should definitely check out Abode.

Nice atmosphere and great selection of drinks at a very reasonable price! However, the music was a wee bit loud for me to be talking comfortably.

This place makes me very happy! Felt super welcome from the moment we walked in, great drinks, great staff (LOVED the Def Leppard tee!), great atmosphere..just great! Quite frankly though any bar that plays Prisencolinensinainciusol by Adriano Celantano automatically wins everything ever. Looking forward to going back soon for more drinks and awesome music! And free snacks on Fridays!

Nice wee bar with friendly staff.

I love this bar. I'm often in Leith and just want a tea or hot chocolate in the evening. This is a very relaxed place that I feel comfortable in. They have stopped the tunnocks tea cakes 🤔 and replaced with biscuits, not so nice.
