I have eaten here once before and was happy with the quality of the food. Going to reorder I saw the poor reviews which was putting me off. Knowing there can be a story behind a bad review I decided to give it another go and wasn't disappointed. The food was ready bang on time, and was tasty with light sauces. So don't let these reviews put you off, and if you are happy leave them a review. As an add on to this review, the one star review below mine seems to have refreshed so I would treat it with caution.

Ordered a prawn madras which absolutely awful. To the point I'm throwing it in the bin! However, I did order one before about 2mths ago and it was lovely. This place is definitely a hit or miss! I will never use them again.

Awful service, waited 3 hours, they said that our food was delivered to the wrong house and then it came and it was slightly cold. The delivery driver was very nice but I won’t be wasting my money on this again.

The delivery was really fast and the taste of the food was amazing 🤩

Chennai Fish Curry was delicious.

Delighted with the earlier than expected delivery. I had selected asap - was starving, so this was a good thing! Food was delicious and piping hot. First time using Abida, and Just Eat, will definitely be using again.

I order from here frequently and love it, no problems but last night I was charged for lamb korma and got chicken korma

Fabulous Indian food, best in locality. Great meal deal for Two is the best option; with loads of tasty food, the Pakora and Bhajis are light and delicious with tasty dips to boot. Great for the spice lover, Medium or mild eaters alike. Friendly staff and much improved from previous set up (as per some of the older less good reviews) now our 'go to' take away.

I really enjoy the food here. As There are lots of flavours. The garlic nan is usually the best. Except for tonight it was missing the garlic. Was very disappointed.

Disappointed in the service. Food showed up half an hour after we phoned, which was last the latest estimate. They had no clue about the order. It was not hot so who knows where it has been. Took took an hour and a half from the order was placed to get it. Food itself decent. Not even an apology.

Third order where the pilau rice is mixed with plain white. This time the container of main was not full. Sadly I thought I’d found a great Indian but it’s gone down hill since my first few orders.

I was very disappointed with my order, chicken pathia tasted like it was made from passata, only tasted of tomato with very little spice ( should be sweet, sour and hot). Chicken tikka masala was similar, tasted of tomato and little else. Rice was ok, peshwari naan was ok but only warm and wasn't crispy on the outside at all. This was 2nd visit to Abida, I will never go back.

Nothing exciting. Tastes similar to a supermarket microwwave curry.

Always good. I also stupidly ordered from the wrong restaurant and they kindly delivered to the wrong place where I had turned up, free of charge. Good folk

It arrived 20 mins late however the meal was delicious, fresh and such good value for money. This was my second time buying from here and I will continue to in future. Always tastes amazing

Ordered Set Meal for One + Peshwari Nan that I would pickup rather than choose Delivery. According to their online price list it should have cost (including 20% discount) 12.40 (16.00 w/out discount) + 2.80 (3.50) - so either 15.20 OR 19.50 total dependent on if discount applied. Arrived to pick up and they tried to charge me 22.75. When I challenged the price they said Online prices different and pickup not an option online. They then reduced price to 20.00. Won"t use them again based on this experience.

First time ordering. Had such high hopes but food was bitterly disappointing. Why does the tikka masala taste like pure sweet and sour? Madras hot but lacking actual taste. For the price you pay please sort it out.

I was directed to Abida after contacting the 5-star restaurant Prahna Indian Grill's phone number to ask about their delivery service. The Prahna Indian Grill staff member also directed me to Abida when I asked about their delivery service. The order was delivered fairly quickly - 40 minutes from completing the call to receiving the food. The food was a mix of mediocre and good. The Onion Bhajis and Lamb Rogan Josh were excellent. The Chennai fish curry and Chicken Tikka Masala were not tasty and very sugary. For the price, I was not happy. I will not order from here again. Note: The Abida staff member who answered the phone mentioned this restaurant is the new location for the Abida restaurant on St John's Road, Corstorpine. It makes sense since their menus are the same.

Ordered food for 7:15pm for collection. Drove to the other place, which is no longer doing collections. That was my own fault, but they brought the food over anyway - very happy with the server. Food arrived at roughly 7:40, not quite on time (it is a 10 minute drive), but well within reason. The food itself was a bit of a mixed bag. Had the veggie Momo, which was mostly ok, slight curry taste with carrot and kale filling. The dip provided was rather a letdown, tasted like tomato ketchup with a bit of chili. Tandoori roti was good, whole wheat flour, well grilled, and a roti and not a naan (certain restaurants just seem to throw whatever's around into the bag). "Spicy" Pappadoms were - well, pappadoms. I have yet to have bad ones. The veggie North Indian Garlic Chili was quite pleasant at first, veggies nicely cooked but with a bit of bite left, more on the garlic side than the chili - or so I thought, until I hit the chili and it hit me back. Brought some tears to my eyes, and I consider myself rather well acquainted with spicy food. Dear cook, if you happen to read this, I most certainly agree that the vegetables in a curry should not be pureed so that there is some variety to it, but please dice the chili up and mix it.

Consistently the best Indian food we've had in our area. Amazing flavours, arrives hot and on time, great quality. Highly recommended.

Wrong items in order and over hour late vold food and poor value for money staff not verry friendly!!!!!

Our food never turned up so part of the family missed out on their food before they went out. It eventually came over two hours late and it was cold, oily and disgusting. We had to throw it out.

Placed the order and after an hour and a half marked as delivered - never recieved the food. Called the store and they kept telling us to be patient. It’s been 3 hours now since we ordered and still no food. They’ve turned off their phone and won’t respond and won’t give us our food or money back

Tandoori Prawns exceptional. Got order slightly wrong But generally pretty happy

Pointless takeaway really. Ordered in advance only to wait 40mins over the order ready time. I would seriously avoid!

Fab chicken pakora followed by tender lamb dhansak.

Delivery was over an hour and 50 minutes late, food was cold when it arrived and starters never arrivals at all. When calling, had to go through all three of the restaurants before I got hold of someone. Still waiting 1 hour later for my starters to appear. Usually amazing food and service but tonight - nope!

My order was about 2 hours late arriving. Ordered at 7.30, estimated delivery was 2015-2035. I called 2045 to be told my order was on its way, called again at 2100 to be told it was still on its way. At 2115 restaurant admitted issues and said order would be with me soon. At 2200 our order finally arrived by this point we weren't really that hungry anymore.

Delicious meal. Will definitely be ordering from here again

AVOID THE DAVIDSONS MAINS BRANCH !!!! I ordered at 7pm delivery time was 7.35-7.55, at 7.45ish the app said food was on its way at 8.10 I called and was told the driver left 5 mins ago. At 8.40 I called and spoke to a gentleman that I was told was a manager he was very professional and helpful (not the Davidson mains branch) he apologised and offered to send my order if I told him what it was. So at 9.20 I received my food, (which was lovely) but not from AbidA.

Delivery driver was so rude. If you can’t serve your customers with a smile just don’t accept the order.

Missed Just Eat estimate of delivery window after being notified as out for delivery for a long time then marked delivered, No response to request for text update. Did phone and got a phone back to confirm address but then heard nothing back. Order/food seems lost. I am really disappointed. Never had a problem with the Corstorphine outlet . I'll choose somewhere else next i want to support a local business. Refund requested.

Clearly the cost of living crisis has hit this previous good take away. Nan bread now tiny for the same price. We used to be able to share but not not. The Nan was Smaller than the average chapati. Tiny pot of some kind of sauce with pakora. May just have been having an off day in the kitchen but won’t be finding out and ordering again

Well i dont know what the lamb curry was meant to be because didnt receive . Very poor value for money would never use again and would not reccommend

Without a doubt, the highest quality of Indian take away food we have ever tasted. Even better with its value for money. Delivered hot and ahead of time. Can’t rate this evening’s takeaway highly enough.

Great food! All arrived very warm and was extreamely tasty! The staff are very friendly, even got given some homemade desert on the house, will 100% be back!

First time order, fast service, tasty samosa, crispy and tasty. The lamb tikka masala was awesome, very tomatoey and the lamb was tender. This is looking like my new go to Indian takeaway. Long may our food and delivery be this good.

This used to be the miraj which was very good it is now abida and ive just had my first and last meal from them the vindaloo was pure pepper tasting unedible.also more potatoes than lamb which i found strange potatoes in a main course curry ? Avoid this place at all costs food is lousy. Would have left minus stars but not available.

Food was delivered early which was great, the experience unfortunately went downhill after that. The food could not be described as hot and the starters could not be described as appetising. The pakora and ??? were mushy and wholly without texture the squid was equally poor. I'd be hesitant to order from this outlet again.

Ordered for collection at specific time, but the food had obviously been prepared well in advance and had been sitting for some time. The food itself was bang average. The pakora batter, and meat were almost flavourless, and nothing we ordered stood out as being anything but bland. Don't think I'd order here again

Food was great. Delivery was about 35 minutes late despite the fact the app showed the food had been delivered on time. Called the restaurant after it was ten minutes late and the person I spoke to asked me to wait 5-10 minutes then hung up. He was hard to understand as he had a heavy accent. After 35 minutes late I called again but got no answer. The guy who called back was helpful and easily understood. He called just as the food arrived. The main issue was marking the food delivered when it wasn’t obviously to look like they were meeting times. Better to update the delivery time on the app and admit it will be late.

This was probably the best curry I have ever had in Edinburgh. Food was delicious, could not fault it. It was delivered on time and I like that the menu tells your if dishes are gluten free.

Absolutely lovely food and packaged brilliantly. Will be ordering again!

Fantastic friendly Indian takeaway and great value for money too. I have never had a bad meal from them and they constantly throw little extras in free of charge......Last night free poppadoms!. Far nicer food than the other Indian establishment up the road and a fraction of the price too!. The chilli garlic chicken is outstanding!....Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Order was 30 minutes late (so 90 minute wait in total), they also forgot an item. Called to inform them, they said they would refund and they haven't, so essentially they just straight up lied.

Dishonest owner. If there is an item missing from your order, don't expect to get it. You will be promissed extra on your next order to compensate, but who wants to order again after such customer service?

1 star because we couldn't leave ZERO stars. My partner and I ordered via their own website. The order was accepted and confirmed then, a short while later we checked to see when the food would arrive. We were greeted with an email to say that our order had been cancelled. No explanation, no reason, no phone call to speak with us. We tried to call multiple times but they hung up on us. We've literally used Miraj since moving to Edinburgh. Never again. We would have understood if there had been an error on their opening hours, or website but to simply ignore us is enraging.

Very disappointed. Four hours ago, we have ordered worth of £74. It was extremely spicy and worst food I have ever had, me and my friends had a bad experience with stomach ache. We just came here for a holiday and you guys ruined our holiday. Anyway we have stored the food and complain to health and safety.

Absolute shambles. Ordered last night and will never do so again. Don’t believe a word they say that 1. They have received your online order or 2. Delivery will be 20 minutes. Food absolutely average too. Be warned!

Constantly use miraj we absolutely love there food

Last night we called from the car on way back from Fife. By the time we got to the Miraj, our order was ready to pick up. Just 20 minutes! Lovely and fresh, large portions and so tasty as usual! We had Korma and Biryani with a paratha both delicious meals.

Food is always hot, delicious and never had any problems. Delivery is quick and the drivers are friendly but efficient.

I ordered karahi chicken it was just chicken pieces in a bland sauce with raw onions in it didn't like it at all Avoid this place at all cost

Just had the most amazing food from Miraj, Well worth the drive from south Queensferry, Will certainly be back soon.

Food always ready on time and very tasty. Portions are generous with large cuts of meat and veg. Have used them enough to fill 1 and a half loyalty cards and never had a problem

Food was alright but we waited 2 hours and Finally had to go and collect it. They were completely overwhelmed with (online?) orders, never phoned to inform about delay, didn’t apology in any way. That was the first and last experience for us.

Not a good place for vegetarian .me n my friend once visited this place . she Ordered VEGETABLE PASSANDA but she got sick one hour after eating that !won't go there anymore!

Its no dining in but only take away.Customer service was great.Portion was huge especially the Naan.Satisfy my hunger.

This is the first time I have ever dropped bad review. I am sorry to say like this as this resturant is very indecipline and also don't bother about customers. I have placed an order in the lunch time in online and got email that approximate delivery is with in 1 hour but I havent received any delivery as I waited nearly 2 hours so called to resturant and the person from resturant is saying sorry we dont deliver food in lunch time. My question was if they dont deliver why do they take order in online and not even informing to customers. I recommend every one to avoid this resturant.

Very disappointed, chicken bhuna had zero flavour and dry chicken (hardly any chicken) the naan bread was doughy and tasteless, fried rice was greasy and tasteless and the chicken pakora...chicken was bone dry and covered in greasy tasteless batter that was almost burnt or cooked in dirty oil. Don't like leaving bad reviews but this was so bad I had to let people know so they don't waste their money, very strange when you read all the reviews and they are either saying it's the best ever or the worst ever and no inbetween......how they have won an award is beyond me because I can say with 100% honesty it is the worst curry I have ever had and i have had a lot.

Excellent Indian, very good customer service, even gave me free Popadams, food is very tasty, has been hard to find a decent Indian in Edinburgh, this is the one.

Now i like a hot Madras!! Just got delivery and it looked amazing. However it was on par with Phal. I yas to remove the chicken. Way to hot even for me. Rice was good. Chapati good. Pakora soft and very greasy...

Delivery driver nearly ran me down on the zebra crossing which is right outside this takeaway. I had to jump back to avoid being hit. He then stuck his tongue out at me, parked up and went into the shop. I went into the shop to complain to the owner. The owner laughed off the incident and did not take it seriously. I will now boycott this takeaway and encourage my friends to do the same.

Ordered food last night from this establishment. Almost everything that arrived was just slightly colder than lukewarm (other than the chips). Chips soggy as hell (frozen crinkle cut which were oversaturated), pakora was extremely soggy and cold (never had soggy pakora in my life), mushroom pakora was undercooked (mushrooms were hard/semi raw and at one point, the mushroom fell right through the batter because it was so dense and the batter was so soggy). Korma was lukewarm (but the real saving grace of the meal), rice lukewarm and the samosas had gone soggy as well. Basically, was annoyed as had ordered food because was busy and didn't have time to cook and then at the end of my busy day, waiting an hour starving for something hot and filling, ended up having to wait longer to eat because everything had to be cooked AGAIN just so it was hot enough to eat. Chips took nearly twenty minutes alone to cook in the halogen oven just to get them to where they didn't taste like oil filled mush and they were still pretty tasteless (their only saving grace was being dipped in that really lovely orangey dip that was provided). Don't get me wrong, the korma sauce was lovely, one of the nicest I've tasted, unfortunately the chicken in the korma was dry and ended up going to my cats (they send their compliments to the chef, by the way, they don't care how their chicken is cooked as long as they get some), the dips with the pakora were nice but the pakora itself, having been soggy, was very unappetising and not enjoyable. The Dupiaza was apparently "alright" (nothing extraordinary). To be very honest, I was really disappointed at our spending nearly £30 on TWO curries, two rice, two different pakora, samosas and a container of soggy chips (and having to reheat all of it). You get complimentary salad but not everyone likes salad - just absolutely got wasted. When you order from a takeaway and want a curry, the last thing you're really thinking is "oh, I could really go a salad" (lol, yes, really...). To be honest, for the money we spent the least that could have been offered was a free poppadum or naan. Wished I'd just gone to the nearest Morrisons and got a bag with everything for £8 or £12 and reheated it myself - it'd have taken less time than it did to arrive from here and me to reheat. I really couldn't recommend it based on this experience. I do commend the lovely korma, but the time it took to arrive and it all being cold and soggy...really not happy with it. Sorry, I hate being uncomplimentary, it's not my style, but really...£30 is not a sneeze for a takeaway when you're on a very low income. When you spend that much for one night's meal you expect a steaming hot treat, not an entire two course meal you have to cook yourself. :(

Had my First meal from Miraj last night as it was recommended by a friend who works beside a member of staff there (at a different work place)and waw without any exaggeration it was the best Indian meal i have had, not only that the place is clean very hygienic which i look for in every place i eat .Wish the Nan was a little bigger but that's me just being greedy . This take away will be where i eat from now on when i want an Indian take away , even although i have to travel about 15 miles for it
