Aashiq's Balti Restaurant in Lichfield

I meet friends there most months and we are always very happy with the food and staff. I visit India most years so know what a good curry should taste like and Aashiq's is as close to real Indian as you can get in the UK.

We go to this restaurant every week the service is brilliant and always receives the best service the waitresses are friendly and hardworking always willing to go out their way to make us feel comfortable they always put smiles on customers faces and is very polite. We hold many of our family events parties etc here and will highly recommend.

Small restaurant. Food was okay. Took around 40 mins even though there was 4 tables in the entire place. Staff repeatedly stared and laughed at us. Staff felt poor and food was unappetising. Only good thing i could say was one boy who worked there looked young. Was very nice and handled our situation nicely. Looked ginger brunette

Not been to Ashiq’s for years after moving out of the area.. my god it was well worth the wait! One of and if not the best curry I’ve ever tasted! Well done guys!

Went last Wednesday, with a friend and we both had the fixed price banquet menu, which is great value. Service and food quality is second to non. Will definitely go again.

Had a takeaway meal on Saturday it had no tast at all my meal was so wet and tasteless the Nan bread was burnt and hard I will never go back worst food ever phoned them to complain they said we will get the manager to call me still no call the two meals all ended up in the bin j

The service was excellent, only surpassed by the food. Which is absolutely stunning. Took the kids out for a midweek meal at our usual place Aashiq's Burntwood. Banqueting nights are really the best thing in Burntwood. Cheers, staff, see you soon!

Saturday Night visit, The restaurant was full to capacity, we had pre-booked the table, the food was delicious as always and the Aashiq's staff took good care of us, (thank you) 100% Recommended by us.

The attitude of the staff was unacceptable, had a major problem with the food and they couldn’t believe we had a problem with it. We were expected to be grateful. Three out of four meals were of a poor quality.

Missing visits to Aashiqs recently but we have enjoyed many deliveries during lockdown . Just about to order another one .Thanks everyone 💝

Can't praise them enough as I've enjoyed some fantastic home deliveries from this restaurant during the lockdown! Their sheesh kebab starter is to die for, nice succulent and juicy I would 100% RECOMMEND Aashiq's Burntwood..

I moved to Burntwood a few months before the pandemic, all me mates recommended the Aashiq's Restaurant in Burntwood. The first visit was excellent the food was amazing, service staff were very friendly and helped me and my family make sense of the menu and select the food we wanted, they were busy in the restaurant but the waiter was very patient and at no point did we feel rushed. Must say when the foods arrived the presentation was brilliant, the taste was awesome too. Value for money, "yes" took our own drinks in as well. Overall i would recommend this place to everyone just like my mates recommended it to me. Can't wait to visit on a weekend with the "girls". Thanks Aashiq's staff. Lisa....

Once more we visited Aashiqs for a Wednesday night banquet night. We had so much good food in the first and second courses we had no room for dessert! Naan is superb as are the other options - especially as I am a vegan. Great service, lovely atmosphere too!

Another visit here last night , a warm welcome from all the staff. Very pleasant and attentive. Very clean , beautiful white table clothes and napkins. On to the food , well presented and flavoursome. All cooked perfectly fresh ingredients , well worth a visit. Well done

Lovely evening spent with friends we decided to end the night with a curry. The restaurant was full but the owner said he would come to the pub next door when a table was free. Sure enough 30 minutes later, he comes to tell us our table is ready. Fantastic! My husband Mark has been going there since it opened and we have never had one disappointing meal. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, what more could you ask for!

We came here for the first time tonight. I had a chicken tikka Jalfrezi and my lady the korma. With a rice and keema Naan well I must say the food was delightful really tasty. By myself and my partner enjoyed it. The customer service was top notch too. The restaurant let us sit where we liked after first offering us a table. This sort of quality goes a long way in my opinion. The only slight gripe I had with the visit was they forgot to charge us for drinks. So added that on which is OK but I found £4.00 for water and 2 blackcurrant squashes a little bit expensive. So next time I will be taking my own refreshmentsOther than that is was a nice experience.

This establishment has a friendly atmosphere and the staff make you most welcome and the food is delicious but.... what happened to the nan bread? it’s was hard around the edges and not very nice at all but because it was a takeaway we thought it would be pointless complaining about it anyway it’s only a one off let’s hope

We have dined here a few times on average twice a year,always when my son visits from Holland good food and menu service always quick and efficient slightly priced on the high side they also do a good delivery service

Have previously used this balti house but had a takeaway chicken tikka balti which was extremely disappointing. Hardly any chicken pieces and the sauce was bland, lacking any flavour.My partner’s chicken jalfrezi was equally devoid of meat and was equally bland.I have to admit extreme disappointment given that they had ample notice to prepare and cook this order. I doubt I shall return again

Wow! What choices! £11.95 for four courses and so many choices! Curry night has its own menu. Well worth a visit plus you can take your own drinks

Use Aashiq’s for both dining in and takeaway, service is always good and I always usually get Lamb Rogan Josh as it’s personally my favourite in the area. Lamb is always very tender and falls apart. Flavoursome curry and just enough spice for my liking!

Went in for a second visit. The small place was ram packed and very noisy. We waited 1 hour to be served with our food. When it came, the waiter stirred my curry with the dish lid for some strange reason. The food was meh, I wouldn't write home, only write a review to warn you to go elsewhere. Afterwards, the staff decided laying tables for tomorrow and getting a brew was more important than bringing the bill over. Had I not been with a large group of freinds for an occasion, I'd have walked out.

Often this has always been our go to restraunt in Burntwood however last night was the last time we would be coming here. The service was slow, we had a long wait for our meals and when it did arrive my partner found a few hairs in his meal on mentioning this the staff became rude and aggressive towards us all even though we was happy to pay the bill and continue on with our night.

We have used this restaurant for over 20 years and had the worst experience ever tonight. My son had a hair in his meal and when we informed the staff they became very aggressive and intmedating towards us we are no longer welcome at aashiqs. Happy days and just the add to it food was not the best very bad experience

Food wasn’t great had about 3 hairs in my dinner and the staff didn’t seem to care the sauce was okay but when I told the staff they seemed to think the whole thing was funny but still wanted the full bill won’t be going again useless

ordered chicken korma and mild chicken curry and 2 garlic fried rice never mentioned the rice was far to hot and spicy to eat he is in sooo much pain doesn't even say it is hot in the menu we got not coming back bad

The food is bland and overpriced. Beware, the manager is sly and crooked. Recommendation is to never go there.

Great food, always hot, good service. and never along time waiting for your order not like some restaurants in the area, and staff are always busy tidying tables etc.

I have been eating curry for many years now and this by far was some of the best cooked and finest quality chicken i have ever had the pleasure of tasting and there was plenty of it.

Above average this side of Birmingham. Being BYO it can be a good value night out. Starters generally very good. The chicken Naga dish is not as hot as it sounds and is my favourite here. A couple of dishes are too sweet for me but many are not sugared out. Proper nans as well!

This is my partners mums favourite restaurant and we have visited many times over the years! The food is flavoursome and delicious with generous portion sizes. The staff always friendly and cheerful. The atmosphere always buzzing. We will certainly be back soon!

Have had one takeaway and two sit downs at this restaurant. Both excellent value and food. Menu so varied, different and better than actual Lichfield restaurants. If you don’t mind driving I recommend going here as alternative to any of the Lichfield vicinity ones. Also you don’t have to leave the table after hour and a half like many of alternatives. Take your own drinks too!

Recommend onion bargj & chicken tikka chat balti. Live in Lichfield but travel to Aashiq’s because of the quality of the food.

Visited this restaurant on bank holiday Monday after having 3 take aways from here. Started with lamb chop chilli fry which was out of this world in fact we all ordered it again just to be sure followed by fantastic main course meals. If you have not been here you need to go. I thanked the chef in person for a great meal. I would tell you all to try the chefs recommended meals they are great.

Ashiqes is our local curry restaurant and the food is lovely and the staff very friendly good choice of food on offer and reasonable priced take your own drinks it is clean and friendly.

This was my first visit to Aashiqs in Burntwood... I visited with my wife and two friends. Firstly the address.. it is in Burntwood, near Lichfield but not in Lichfield unless of course you judge this by Church Diocese... Its right close to Swan Island which if you live within 10 miles should be instantly recognisable as a location.

Another great meal enjoyed at Aashiq's. Took out 5yr old granddaughter early on a Saturday evening. She was treated like a little princess by the staff. Great meal and many thanks to the staff

We have been going for approx 20yrs and never had a bad meal. When friends from around the world visit the first place they want to eat is here. Always friendly service and BYO makes it great value.

Visited with friends. Very busy Saturday night. Pre-booking a must. Loved mixed starter. Seekh kebab could be slightly Spicer. Slight error with our order, wrong item brought. Told we could have for free whilst they organised the right starter. The wrong item was lamb chops Which were very nice. With big chilli kick! Which was good service so no one was sat there waiting. Chicken tikka balti tasty. Lots of tender meat. Lamb Saag balti also tasty. Big chucks of lamb.

This is our local Indian restaurant which we have visited many times eating in the restaurant and also takeaway. The food is always excellent and there is lots of it, large portions. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. Takeaway service is always quicker than the estimated delivery time which is always good. The fact that you take your own alcohol into the restaurant makes this a relatively cheap night out.

After receiving some poor quality meals (price, quality & delivery) in Lichfield, we went with Aashiq's in Burntwood after a recommendation. We were not disappointed - the food was lovely, arrived on time, correct order and no overcharge - excellent. We will definitely be eating from here again. Thanks

Yo pregunto para confirmar si no estaba abierto nos dijo que esperar 20 minutos le dan algunos popadoms. . Así que nos fuimos! !

TBH this was our fault for choosing aashiqs knowing that we have our own local Indian which we have no issues with, but thought will give this a go!! I am very disappointed to say food was really bad in fact it was tasteless I have mixed kebab and lamb tasted like feet, chicken was recooked as it was very tough and didn't looked fresh, nothing was fresh, so I am sad to say I won't be ordering from them again. If you are local to Lichfield stick to your local!!

It's been 2 years or more since our last visit to this curry house,greeting was very good from the young girl at the desk and pampering to our needs through the night,starters were ok apart from a few over done pieces that were harder than should be,the main meals were stunning and very good portions with a lot of flavor and spice!!!I would recommend you give this a try and make up your own mind as you now every body's taste can differ.....

After eating at a lot of curry house's its always good to find one with some different things on the menu as well as the old familiar ones. My friend and I had a starter and a main and all was good and the service was fast and friendly too. The mix kebab was as you would expect from anyware but succulent and my Green Curry was also goodI can see me working my way down the menu in future weeks

Came here on a Wednesday evening with friends. It was very busy but we were still looked after, Very friendly staff indeed and you can see they have built up and established some good relationships with regulars in the community. They do a special on a Wednesday evening with three courses for 10.95 .You can literally choose anything other than the specials and the portions are not smaller either. We all wolfed down our food , absolutely lovely. Shall be back !

We don't live in the area but absolutely love this restaurant and always visit when going to see extended family. The food is very good and the menu varied. The service is excellent and the staff are caring and couldn't do more. Apart from all of this, the restaurant is unlicensed so you can take your own alcohol which makes it a cheap night out. Even though it is unlicensed it does not suffer from people drinking to excess. Would recommend booking on Friday and Saturday. Thank you for consistently good food and service.

I had not been to this Indian for many years and I went as part of a very large party of about 30 of us for a friends retirement meal. The décor was lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The service was very efficient especially given the size of the party. The food was very nice indeed, good sized portions and all seemed happy with their food. I would definitely return again and not leave so long this time.

First visit with family who have been here other times. Food was exception - service couldn't be improved. Professional and yet light-hearted. knowledgeable about the food they served, gave advice. Unobtrusive but prompt attention and the price was right. No drinks licence so 'bring your own' is welcome. A great night!

Earlier last month I had the sincere privilege of attending this magnificent restaurant on behalf of my sons consistent recommendations for us to dine in for my 39th birthday for someone quite conservative,I was subject to second thoughts yet upon arrival I encountered a surge of comfortability not only by the staff yet those also spending an evening out.aashiqs has gradually become a communal institution collaborating families and friends after there long and demanding days at the office or elsewhere as I've learned following frequent visits prior to my sons recommendation a great place to ease of the tension of your demanding day or week for that matter I highly recommend anybody near the region of Cannock road to give this place a try and take my word for it your not to be disappointed !. Can't wait to attend there 2 weeks from now and get a hint of there Valentine's Day special! With my husband.

We visited just before Christmas. Although very busy our waiter was very attentive. All food served piping hot where appropriate, The chef prepared my favourite dish for me which wasn't on their menu. We had a very pleasant evening with friends & all agreed the food was lovely. Last night we ordered our favourite meals to be delivered to home @ 7pm. Lo & behold 6.55pm our food arrived again piping hot. All in all the best Indian eat in/take away for miles around.

Weve had many meals here and take aways and have been for family parties, the food has always been amazing!! I have tried other indians in burntwood and has been horrible. I love to come here for a meal you are treated like royalty and food is always lovely. Bottom line choose Aashiqs over other burntwood indians they are never consitant Aashiqs is always amazing!!

Visited Aashiqs for a family event which we could not refuse. We have visited Aashiqs several times and it seems to get worse on each occasion. Food and service is mediocre. We particularly weren't too happy to find they only have a 2 star food hygiene rating. It's not hard to get a good food hygiene rating if your safely preparing food, we can safely say we won't be rushing back here. Clean up your act Aashiq's..... And your kitchen!

Consistently good quality food; excellent choice, attentive staff, lovely surroundings and competitive prices always, especially banquet evenings at £10.95 for 3 courses on Wednesday & Thursday evenings...can't be beaten, well done Sham & the gang!!

We had not visited Aashiqs for a few years, for us the food was always good but the noise in the restaurant during busy times meant conversations were hard to engage in. We recently attended a family event and were impressed with the change in decor however not so impressed with the food. Previously it was always tasty and vibrant, this time we found it lacking taste and fairly bland.The staff are pleasant but appear to rush you between courses which for us is uncomfortable.Get the spice back and we will return.

Visited this restaurant on Friday night with friends. The staff were very friendly and attentive; comfortable and clean surroundings; really good food. We got everything we ordered, it was hot (temperature), tasty and well presented. We will definitely go back.

We held a surprise Anniversary party for our parents here on Sat 25 July. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us, the food was lovely and lots of it. The best night we could have imagined. Lovely decor too. Thank you to all of you. x

Had some great meals from here but has deteriorated gradually to the point now that I definitely won't eat from here again. Chicken is tough and tasteless, certainly not fresh! Different dishes seem to look and taste the same. The restaurant has been refurbished to a nice standard but the cleaning hasn't improved. Hygiene rating was only a 1 for a whole year and is still at a disappointing rating of 2 following another health inspection. Service not at the best it can be either, new staff every time we visit.Clean up your act Aashiqs if you don't want to lose further custom!

Unimpressive main course, with chicken that didn't taste that fresh, rather blunted our enthusiasm for this usually-smashing place. I didn't recognise any of the staff either, so I wonder if the regulars are away or whether it's changed hands? Nans and papadums and sauces all good though.

This is my balti restaurant of choice in the Lichfield area. I've never had a bad meal here and the welcome is always warm. I would definitely recommend it.

Ive been coming here for years with friends, tried all the other restaurants but will always come back here. Great food, great service and well cheap. I've had many a birthday celebration in here over the years. Back in the 1990's me and a friend ate here 13 nights on the bounce. Ask Sham when you visit, he'll back up my story. Cant wait for the bank holiday, will definitely be paying a Asiques a visit.

started going quite regularly as so close to home, we always dine early (between 5.30 and 6.30pm) so have never experienced any delays, really professional yet friendly and welcoming hosts. Best Bhuna i've ever had!!! we shall be back.....weekly

I just love this place. Cool decor, take your own booze. Reasonably Priced. Iv been going for 20yrs n they've never messed an order up. The foods always bang on, quick service. Have plenty of deliveries to, never take long. Now they've opened up Sunday afternoon 3 course £8.95. Kids menu too. They keep up with the times. You just can't beat this place :-)

Ordered a takeaway on Saturday 24th January, at 1830, paid for up front, went it hadn't arrived at 1945 I was concerned, I contact them to be told they had tried and had now chucked it away (I have a dog that barks evey time someone comes down the drive and we were waiting in our lounge situated at the front of my house) they said it would be an extra hour, when the bloke arrived he was still looking for our house, I informed him that he couldn't have been here the first time to be told "we've been busy tonight" no apology or anything. Shame as I have used them for over 10 years.......not now

Aashiq's has recently begun opening for Sunday lunch between 1 and 5 pm with a shortened but ample menu for £8.95 a head. There is a children's menu too, making this ideal for a family lunch. Our family of six went recently ,and though it was very quiet (January doldrums?) we had an excellent and very good value meal. I hope his venture will prove to be a success as we would certainly visit again for a family Sunday lunch.

One of my two favourite restaurants in the Burntwood area due to the constant great standard of the food and service provided! It has recently had a fantastic refurbishment and looks beautiful inside! I'm vegetarian and although the menu has been reprinted showing a more limited choice they will gladly do a vegetarian meal from any option on the menu as well as anything not on there! The staff are always very welcoming and friendly! Well worth a visit!

just recently I have visited Aashiq's Balti with my wife it was our wedding anniversary so I booked a table for me and my wife, as we entered the restaurant we had a very romantic feeling the décor was a very contemporary design it was alive and the staffs were wonderful, brilliant service the food was the best, I tried the the Lamb kudu salon it's must to try superb I extremely recommend it for anyone who is visiting Aashiqs Balti Restaurant my wife tried the Sally murgh balti she loved it very much perfectly cooked and very tasty and well presented on the plate.Overall just great, brilliant highly recommended

Last night we celebrated our daughters birthday at Aashiq's and once again had the most wonderful evening. The service is excellent, the food was amazing and the atmosphere as always ,welcoming and each guest is made to feel special. All the staff here are so kind and nothing is to much trouble .We are so lucky to have such a good restaurant in our town.Thank you for making my daughters birthday such an enjoyable one.

I was in Cannock to see family when i couldn't help but notice another Aashiqs in the same style writing so I decided later on that evening I would give it a try what can I say the food the waiters it felt like I was in the Dudley aashiqs same quality treatment the boss was very attentive (sham) and all the waiters were working with smiles keep it guys!!!

There are many good indian restaurents in the area but this one is the best for me.(I have probably been to every indian restaurent within a 5 mile radius! )The 2 for 1 meals on wednesday and thursday are a great idea. Food is always delicious and the lamb is to die for.Normally the beers in indian restaurents are a bit flat but not at this place. All in all i cant fault the place.

Fabulous food. Bloody loved the starter which was a tandoori mix. The meat was cooked perfectly and there was plenty to eat and share. The main was a keema curry. One of the best I've had in a long time. Will be using this restaurant again for their takeout! May even sit in one night soon :-)

The food is absolutely one of the best Indian meals I have had, the menu is extensive and make sure your hungry when you go. Visited Aashiqs for the first time tonight. I have never eaten such a delicious Indian meal before in my life, everything from the mixed tandoori kebab starter through the chicken tikka chatt balti main course to the accompanying peshwari naan was fantastic. The only thing that was negative was that the restaurant was crowded and noisy (we arrived about 7.30pm on Saturday night) - but anywhere serving food like this will be popular. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

Visited Aashiqs on new years eve in a party of 20. The waiter took the orders from everyone but for some reason he only took the maincourse,then after noting everyone's choice returned for each individuals rice choice and then eventually your nan choice. As a result all main courses were prosented first, then some time later the rice dishes appeared and then some time later the nan choices arrived. By the time the rice and nan's had arrived most peaple in the group had either finished or nearly finished there main course or it had gone cold. I personaly had to ask 3 times for some ice before finally my brother inlaw fetched it for me. I requested a clean knife and fork but it never arrived, i used the spoon and my wifes fork to eat my chicken and king prawn pathia with.The whole set up was very unprofessional, I was very disappointed after reading the previous reviews.How

Another great meal at Aashiq's, South Indian garlic chicken worth the 90 mile trip! The kids love it too, can't wait for next time.

Decided to give it a go last Friday following the reviews on here and will definitely be going again. One of the best Indian meals I've had in the UK, great atmosphere and fabulous food at reasonable price, highly recommend.

I have visited Aashiques for many years now. It is my daughter's favourite place to go when she comes home. The food is always good and the staff are friendly. It is also very reasonably priced, as it is unlicensed you can take your own drinks and it makes for a very inexpensive night out. Take away is also excellent

It seemed very quiet for a Wednesday night. As usual, great service, good food. Take your own drink, and a quite reasonable £ for the food.
