A1 Roadside Chef in Braintree

Worst Chicken “Shish” I’ve ever had, poor quality cheap flat chicken not even cubed or cooked as shish and the wrap not even grilled. This used to be my favourite in Chelmsford cannot believe how down hill this place has gotten and what they class as large cheesy chips is far from it, sprinkled a little bit of cheese on the top of a small portion of chips, customer service just as disgusting, complete waste of money.

Great stop for a burger or kebab before going home to do some gardening. A weekly treat and so local.

They were open all the way during the pandemic and they run on full menu and same prices.thanks guys.as everything gone expensive everyehere some items gone up about 30p.still one of the cheapest place in braintree for kebab.nice and fresh food.still my favorite place :)

Make sure you have enough money on you They used to take card payments but now they don’t . Some old crap about machine not being able to get signal well I never had any problems paying by card .also they have put up their prices and charge you for extra pots of sauces even when you are spending £30-£40

You never expect too much when you go to a van in a lay-by. But there’s still good and bad. This isn’t good. It’s awesome. The order is carefully noted, cooked to perfection and is absolutely delicious. Don’t expect restaurant quality. It’s a van. But don’t for one minute think it’ll be subpar. I go at least a couple of times a week as my job takes me right past and it’s nice to get something hot to eat, especially in these weird times. The staff are all polite and friendly and I think what they have on offer is comprehensive and very reasonably priced. I wouldn’t continually go back to somewhere that was no good. I look forward to my visits here. I recommend the sausage & bacon baguette.

nice clean friendly service, good food, they even gave me a free drink, basically its a road side kebab van the burgers are good as well

the food here is delicious, from cheeseburgers to crispy chicken wraps and even grilled halloumi you really have your options open here. They have a variety of sauces (they make their own chilli sauce in fact!) and always have fresh salad. the service is really great, as they are always polite and kind. id definitely recommend here! (AND, to the reviewer before me, even if there were other takeaway spots in this area, this would still be the best!)

I was surprised to find this place where it's website said it would be and open when the site suggested it would be. They serve the expected range of fast food grilled/etc to order. Cheese burger and drinks as expected - not the fine dining experience one might seek when taking a girl out for an important first date - however for late night opening on the edge of Braintree's Western Industrial Estate this is not only the best choice - it's your only choice.
