Excellent New Year Eve dinner. A special menu that didn't disappoint our group of 6. Lovely service, albeit a busy evening for the service team but a thoroughly enjoyable night. Well done yet again. It's great to have a consistently great dining experience in Windsor.

Great food and service, the plates could have been a bit warmer.

Fabulous food, excellent service. I only took 1 star off because my plate was cold, which meant that I felt rushed to eat quickly, as I don't like cold food. I would definitely go again, and just mention this beforehand because the food really is fabulous.

We were staying in Windsor after a long and late flight from Australia on Monday night - and stumbled upon this place - what a delight. Excellent menu, delicious food, expertly served - with a fantastic wine cellar. This place had the charm of a traditional French restaurant but in a contemporary setting - and exceptionally friendly staff. Some unique touches like preparing steak Diane and flambéing at your table. Will definitely re visit on our next trip to Windsor. It’s not cheap but we thoroughly enjoyed our evening so I consider it great value - highly recommend.

Came here for our anniversary, 7 months pregnant and the service was outstanding. The staff are so incredibly helpful and kind, going out of their way to take our jackets, put them on for us. Little things like telling us to watch out for the step. They really care about their customers. Thank you so much

An absolutely delicious meal in a very traditional French restaurant: starting with Camembert and squid which was fresh and an flavourful, followed by an exceptional rib eye steak, a delicately seasoned rabbit and ultra creamy dauphinoise. Desserts were made in house, with the profiteroles and crème caramel being retro and delicious. Only minor gripe was an inconsistent play list of music (dance and chart pop music has no place for dinner in a French bistro, sorry). Staff were lovely, interior well worn but super cosy, you’d be crazy not to book a table.

If you live in or around Windsor or even further afield this eatery is a must.

One of the best meals I have ever had in Windsor. I had lobster & crab croquettes for starter which were light & tasty. The main course of fillet of steak in pepper sauce (cooked rare) with a combi of garlic new potatoes, buttered spinach and dauphinoise potatoes was absolutely divine. Well worth a visit. À la Russe never disappoints.

This restaurant couldn’t be more authentically French. From the charming French waitstaff to the wine selection, the exquisite food, and the elegant decor. The ambience felt warm and welcoming, with soft lighting, tasteful artwork, and classic French touches that added a sense of intimacy. The menu offered a fantastic selection of traditional French dishes. I started with the escargot, which was buttery and garlicky in the best way, followed by a beautifully cooked Pousin that was tender and full of flavour. Service was impeccable; the staff were attentive without being intrusive and truly seemed to enjoy sharing their passion for French cuisine. Every dish was perfectly executed, and I left feeling like I’d experienced a little piece of France right here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic French dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

Delightful French food, crab, and avocado sald followed by monkfish tails with a nice half bottle of Chateau Montaiguillon. We were off to the theatre, and they were very accommodating with a quick service. No parking and it is a long, fairly narrow restaurant

Rather disappointing after such good recommendations. Food was over produced and relied on heavy use of salt. Sauces a little watery and meats thin, salty, and a little dry. Sides were tasty and well produced. The wine list was small but good and good value. Desert was the least appitising Tarte Tatin have ever had, on a beautifuly presented plate, but the actual tarte was a shapeless brown patty of apple sludge that looked as if had been dropped from a height onto the well decorated plate and left. Resembled a cow pat. Tasted terrible with far too much sugar, testeless apple, and few spices. Sent it back but was charged anyway. Did not argue as I had company and I had no intention of returning. Perhaps this was an off day, but I will avoid.

Honestly the best experience, from the service to soooo delicious food, it was our first time at the restaurant and definitely will come back. Thank you so much for so attentive, caring and welcoming service and thank you to Chef for super delicious food, you all are amazing.

2nd visit to the restaurant. Had to try the lunch menu after the fabulous dinner last time. The chef did not disappoint. Delicious. Seriously recommend. Cannot wait to dine again when we next visit Windsor.

Lovely food and the best service I’ve experienced in Windsor. Great staff, who know and really seem to enjoy the job, and always calm and polite if stuff goes a bit wrong. Far from everyday prices for us but we really enjoy a meal here usually annually. Tasty French food. There’s usually no vegetarian on the main menu but a daily veggie special, which I always have and have never yet been disappointed by.

A lovely French Bistro. So many restaurants in Windsor, this is a must. Great choice of menu. The fixed price lunch was outstanding value. Food delicious, good portions and a very friendly efficient service. Would definitely return and recommend you try it!

We had a group of 20 here for dinner and had pre-selected our choices. Some people were running almost an hour late and the restaurant accommodated this without any fuss, ie they did not urge us to start at the booked time. It seems that everybody was happy with their food. Service was efficient and observant throughout the evening.

Delicious! Highly recommend! Food was super tasty and great portion sizes. Wine was brilliant too and all the staff were very friendly and made us feel great. If you like French food this is the only place you should go!

What a lovely restaurant the staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was amazing especially the dessert baked Alaska which was so delicious. Definitely recommend.

Very dishonest response from owner. We were very disappointed with this place. Perhaps given the reviews we were expecting good but got decidedly poor. Maybe we just caught them on a night where the real chef was on a day off??Either way the menu looks good but the food is mediocre at best. The service was inconsistent between the two staff on the night. One was helpful the other clueless. The flavours and quality of cooking were bad. Even at the most basic level. Cold plates, which I hate, especially with fish dishes. Sauces in all dishes were watery and flavourless. Dauphinois potatoes were undercooked and the cream had split, simply awful. If our meal was typical they must be spending a lot of time getting family members to send in positive reviews. I just don’t get why the review scores are so high and the restaurant is so bad. Maybe they are just complacent. They clearly have little regard for their customers and £20 compulsory service charge is an absolute joke. Best avoid this place, they also leave dishonest replies to feedback, one dish ( moules mariniere) was sent back after two bites as they tasted horrible.I did suffer the next day, yuk.

While the food was great the service was slow and one waiter was rude. My daughter who is very get conscious ordered fish with no sides the waiter asked her if she was on a diet. She is not over wgt but has a medical condition which limits what she can eat. When I told him that she was upset with what he said he just laughed it off. Will I go back there no I definitely won’t.

A great evening. We enjoy going to Al la Russe and decided to take some family members there. They were not dissapointed and had a wonderful evening all plates cleared and glasses emptied. The staff are wonderful, friendly and very attentive thank you all as always

Reviews were right. The food was fabulous. We had the Prosecco that was sweet and smooth. Followed by chicken and chorizo croquettes that were absolutely marvellous. The main fillet steak and beef stroganoff were absolutely divine. I want to know how you tenderise your meat so smooth. We concluded the dinner with exquisite dessert with beautiful palette cleansing sorbet. Absolutely recommend!!

A little gem tucked away on the High Street. Great service and the food was excellent. The best French onion soup I have ever tasted, coupled with the ribeye steak in pepper sauce which was just superb. If I could eat this every day I would. The wine list is excellent as well. This was my first visit but definitely won’t be my last.

The place is beautiful and the food delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal! The wine was just perfect with the swordfish and Scollops. The atmosphere and service was impeccable, friendly staff and lively atmosphere made our meal a fabulous outing. Highly recommend! Thank you, we will definatelly be back.

Excellent food. Lovely coffee. I had Scallop St Jacque followed by Moule Mariniere. They were both delicious. I especially liked the Moule liquor which had just the right balance of wine which we mopped up leaving not a drop! The rellies both had the fig and goat starter. They followed up with chicken stuffed with spinach and a pate and tapenade starter. They both loved their meals. If you're wanting a decent French meal at a mid range price this is the place. But I only give A La Russo 4 stars as they may feel insulted for asking for plant milk and the women's toilet is not very accessible.

We were a table of 7 celebrating my grandmother’s 80th and we had the most wonderful evening here. The service could not have been any friendlier. The starters, mains and desserts all received universal rave reviews from around the table. It was a truly superb meal in every respect. Thank you!

We came for a romantic dinner and we were overjoyed with how cozy the restaurant was. The staff were so lovely! And the food was the most delicious meal we've had in a long time! Every single part of our evening was absolutely perfect, will definitely be back again.

Divine food at this French restaurant. They really know what they are doing! We ordered some starters, steak Diane and dessert. All decadent and Cooked to perfection. The steak Diane was prepared and cooked in front of us which was awesome! We had it done medium-rare (you can have it cooked exactly how you like it). The flavour in the meat and the sauce was so juicy and flavoursome. Would definitely return, especially for the steak. I like the ambience too, slightly lowly lit, intimate and romantic. Perfect date night spot.

This a proper French restaurant. We booked the table in advance as its always busy. Tables are clean, we had a table for four. Pleasant staff and efficient service. Very enjoyable evening, delicious bread & butter. The rabbit was particularly good. All food served were perfectly cooked and delicious.

Wanted to try this place for a long time, so glad we did. Service, food and drinks are top quality and we will be back.

A fabulous, traditional french restaurant. Steak Diane and Crepe Suzette prepared at the table. The wine selection was excellent and they offer my favourite champagne (J M Gobillard), that you cannot easily get in UK!

Everything was perfect the food was sublime. I read the reviews and ate what everyone buzzed about and I was not disappointed. I have given four stars for the atmosphere due to being in there with only 2 other people it was a Tuesday night! I think with a lot of people in the restaurant I would increase this as I liked the French decor and French music.

Was very disappointed as we heard good things. We are local and thought we would have a nice lunch here for a change. My first meal of the day as I am an intermittent faster. We both started with the mussels followed by Sword fish and the lamb shank. Service was good. However we both had severely upset tummies within an hour of eating, although my husband’s tummy started before leaving the restaurant! Haven’t had a tummy problem like this in years !! The Mussels must have been off ! Now we are suffering the aftermath. Not a great start to the Easter break.

Came here during a busy Saturday lunchtime. Good choice of starters and mains and a decent wine list. Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, we enjoyed our meals thoroughly. The restaurant itself is quite small and has low lighting but we will definitely return.

An absolute MUST if you’re in Windsor… Where to start…. I have been frequenting this place for several years now. It never disappoints. Whether you fancy an excellent set menu lunch with a companion or a simple but exquisite family meal, or perhaps a celebration on a special occasion, A la Russe always delivers. The food is exceptional! The service likewise, Pasquale and his team are always on point. For traditional and quality French cuisine (sometimes with a twist) look no further than A la Russe on your next visit to Windsor. It’s a hidden gem!

Spoke to Andre on booking who was very nice. We were a fairly large family group dining Saturday lunchtime and were looked after very well. The food is of excellent quality and there were lots of tempting options on the Special Menu which was very good value - £16 for two courses. The subtle herbs and flavours made our pork dish a joy and the meat was so tender. The desserts tasted home-made, not cloyingly sweet - good flavours, and the children's' meals were excellent quality and value. Although we are not local, we will definitely return. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We had a wonderful lunch here today. The pace was delightfully relaxing. The food was very good. I had the whitebait and sea bream both where perfectly prepared. My only regret is that we don’t live closer!

First time coming. Place is clean and the ambimave is very romantic and chill. Food was amazing! I wanted the steak tartare but they usually only do 2 portions. The servers offered to do 1 portion for myself as the restaurants wasn't as busy. The portions were quite big and food quality amazing. Would recommend to anyone passing by. The service was great and food delicious!

Nothing house made, Frozen fries instead of a potato gratin, industrial dressings and desserts, what's the point of this so called "French" restaurant. Very disappointing 2 stars for the staff.

Our first visit here and did not disappoint. Service was brilliant throughout, very friendly and attentive. The food was presented impeccably, went for scallops to start, beef medallions surf & turf for main and creme brulee for dessert. All tasted fantastic. The rest of the menu all sounded equally as tasty. They do a set lunch menu too which was very reasonably priced. Make sure to look down as you go in as you can see into the wine cellar!

Absolutely stunning dining. Probably wouldn't be appropriate to recommend a particular dish as I suspect they are all a sublime as the ones I ate. We're now mulling over what 'special occasion' excuse we can come up with to hasten our return.
