8 Rocks Deli & Wine in Epping Forest

Regular visitor on Thursday evenings for dinner and wine. Wine at 25% (or 20%?) on Thursdays for bottles and the selection is amazing. We usually choose an English wine from a vineyard in Bishops Stortford - buy local. Food and staff always excellent and able to take a dog in too.

Decent breakfast.but service was very slow. Food was very overpriced. £15.00 for a breakfast is way too much

Popped in for a spot of lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Ordered the salt beef salad, chips and charcuterie board which was divine. Staff friendly and attentive too

The food is lovely here. Brunch prices are a little on the steep side as a fry up is almost £15 😱 but the smaller sized veggie one at a tenner is more than enough food to be honest. There is a decent selection of other options and most importantly the coffee is really good.

Had my 61st birthday evening with friends at 8 Rocks.Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. The best place to meet up in the area, and the people are very welcoming. Thoroughly recommend a visit

This place is for wine and fancy whiskey ect, but thought I would have a breakfast with the wife in there today. It’s £12 for a full English so maybe it’s ok I thought. Nice service, by nice people, but can only compare the breakfast to something that would come in a carton on an airplane in an economy seat! It was awful! We went to 8 Rocks this evening - my wife, daughter and myself. The waitress sat us down before another staff member came over and asked us to leave stating he didn’t want the whisky tasting customers at the rear of the restaurant to be disturbed. We were quite shocked to say the least - isn’t the first rule of business ‘take the money?’ The restaurant wasn’t packed - but several tables were already occupied. Not sure what difference to the decibels my family would have made. I hasten to add that we have been there several times and always left satisfied with decent food atmosphere. We won’t go there again owing to the astonishingly complacent behaviour of the staff member. Hope the whisky tasting went well.

I love the fact that I can get breakfast items here and have a massive selection of wine at the same time. The staff are massively friendly and relaxed. It seems to do a great job of feeling like a nice place to be in while not being pretentious at the same time, that’s something I don’t think I’ve seen before. The food was so fresh and tasty and the wine selections are the best in the area!

Pop in at least twice a week for a meet up with some friends over a coffee and a snack. Vik and the staff are always helpful and polite. Best coffee for miles.

Visited 8 Rocks late on a rainy Tuesday morning Second time in a couple of weeks Staff really nice & competent Coffee’s ordered while we decided on food - I had an omelette & my friend had pastries Omelette had cheese, mushrooms & spinach - u get a choice of 3 fillings - excellent - came with a lovely fresh salad My friend’s pastries were a lovely selection of mini danish Will definitely return & would recommend

Today I went here for 3 salt beef bagels & 1 Salt beef sandwich with 2 portions of chips. I have to say this was the worst ever Salt beef in a bagel I’ve ever had. Salt beef is supposed to be sliced not shredded. There really was hardly any meat in it. I would have thought for the price it would have been more than a really small spoon full. The sandwich bread was stale and bagels were tough. The only decent things were the chips that were hot & ok. New to the area wouldn’t go in again

Our first visit since reopening. A warm welcome, attentive service, friendly staff, delicious food, family friendly (although also nice for coffee and/or lunch with a friend). Will definitely be returning.

I don’t know whether this place is under new management, but it used to be excellent. A few Sundays ago I went in and ordered a small bottle of apple juice and a piece of lemon drizzle cake. I was asked if I’d like ice cream with the cake and I said yes please. When it came up, the cake had been warmed up, as a consequence of which the ice cream was melting. I mentioned to one of the staff that lemon drizzle cake shouldn’t be heated, and he said it was because warm and cold go well together. I should have been the judge of that, as it was my order, and I didn’t particularly want warm cake or melted ice cream. The cost was a little under £8 - daylight robbery for what I had. Suffice to say I didn’t leave a tip having spent so much on so little. I shan’t be returning in a hurry.

A nice place to be on a hot Saturday night, with good food and service. The Bishops Stortford local fizz is surprisingly good - well worth trying - the Bishops Stortford white maybe a bit less so

Excellent mid morning brunch of cheddar bagels and chips with a capacchino. Chips were on offer, so buy one get one free!! All arrived within 20 min of ordering, hot and good portion size. Coffee was hot with a great , practical lid to close...

Great takeaway food. My husband loves the salt beef sandwich and I really enjoy the toasted tuna bagel. We need to support good independent businesses in these difficult times, and our High Road would be the poorer without them
