Easily the best food we had in Warwick. I found this little place by looking around Google maps and was encouraged by others reviews. And they were right!! I honestly can’t believe there weren’t any other customers in for dinner while we were there. We went for dinner for my birthday. The restaurant didn’t even know that and they still went out of their way to provide us a wonderful experience. Staff were attentive, helpful, and were wonderfully engaging with our 2 year old. The owner even gave him a model car he’d been eyeing up in the window! As well as a free bowl of ice cream and bread (as he was hungry before the food came out). On top of all of that, the food was absolutely delectable. We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, and the crème brûlée and were impressed by each. We also ordered a bottle of wine (one of the cheaper ones but was still alright). While the atmosphere was simple, it felt clean, tidy, and comfortable. They do display artwork for purchase that depicts nude models which wasn’t a problem for us but is perhaps something to consider if bringing older, more aware children. Thanks again to 7 Square for a wonderful dinner!

This was one of the most disappointing meals I have had in a long time. The only smoked item in the smoked fish platter starter was smoked salmon and the plate was overloaded with anchovies. Shrimps in mayo in a smoked fish platter? The stuffed pepper starter was two strips of red pepper plainly not stuffed As for the main two pieces of bone for show and a few small medallions of lamb do not a rack of lamb make. At £50 each this was unimaginative, uninspiring and poor value. The background music was 1960’s- 1970’s gloomy and sad pop music which lowered the atmosphere even further. We chose it because of the Google map reviews, we shall be more careful next time.

Disappointing! Perhaps the Patron is from old school Paris where warm greetings were reserved for the French. No water was served on arrival, and as I sat observing the cobwebs and dusty lamp shades, when it arrived the coffee didn't match the local competion. The person in attendance seemed to be more interested in eating his own food than hospitality. When it was served, the Croque Monsenueur was a total disappointment. It simply failed to evoke any fond memories of France. Sliced white British bread and absence of gruyere tells its own story. Dear reader, make your own choice.

We went for coffee after visiting the church. Very nice position, with a view of the west front of the church. Tried to order coffee plus pastry. Announced as special on board for £5 . No pastries . Had coffee and tea. Time to pay.. The owner was engrossed in a loud and public conversation with his phone provider. I waved my credit card. Without a word, he entered my transaction and held his mobile card reader up to me. I was not able to see the amount on the screen. However, I paid ( fortunately it was ok ) and we left. Not a pleasant experience.

Your Reviewer of 12th Oct 22 says it all when they wrote in essence ‘ Who writes these positive Reviews on 7 Square ? ‘ We arrived exactly on time at the Restaurant , eerily empty at 8pm . A luke warm welcome by a Lady and shown to a wobbly table , with non matching glasses and cheap cutlery .No offer to take our coats - just the comment of being told to ‘Chuck’ them on the next table ………as we were they only people ‘in’ ! Then a major attempt to light a night light on our table , prop up the wavering table and quickly leave some menus . The Restaurant was far from warm and completely lacking in any atmosphere or ambience Awhile later , a Guy arrived who appeared to be the Patron/ Owner . No greeting or welcome . Just a sharp ‘yes please’ as he stood there with his tiny order pad and pen . We ordered a bottle of white wine , and food from a very short Menu . Wine quickly came and poured into what I can only describe as huge ( and inappropriate) gin and tonic goblets , with the name of some Supplier prominently shown on the side . No water offered and it came only after requesting it . The arrival of the Food , served by the Patron/ Owner now wearing a Apron , did not lift our spirits . Starters just about Ok , but main courses extremely disappointing - chicken very over cooked, tough and very salty . Two poor quality lamb chops , full of fat, masquerading as rack of lamb and duck clearly not enjoyed by one of us and not fully eaten . Huge portion of French beans and some dauphinois potatoes , which had clearly just been warmed up . No pepper or salt on the table . When asked,2 disposal Lidl containers were produced . As he came to clear plates from our main course our so cheerful friend the Patron was asking (before he had lifted all the plates ) …….’any deserts?’ To cap the evening a 10% COVER CHARGE was added to the bill. For what I ask ….no bread or amuse bouché . So a bill for £200 for 4 - two courses and one bottle of very ordinary white wine Having settled the bill a few minutes before we left , we left a totally empty restaurant with not even a good night or see us out . Fine dining ? I think not If you are in Warwick I feel there must be rather better places to blow this amount of money and where your custom is appreciated, service is good and food matches reasonable expectations.

This was Christmas Day lunch for just a few diners, which explains the hefty cost, but it was worth every penny. A fantastic meal in a relaxed environment. Service was excellent and the chef was most attentive. Food was brilliant, couldn’t have wished for a better experience. We’ll go out of our way to dine here again.

We should have known that on a Saturday night a table for 4 was too easy, and yes the restaurant was empty aside one elderly couple. On arrival they seemed shocked we wanted a table but very welcoming. The menu stated it was French cuisine but that's where any comparison ended. The starters, well mine was grilled peppers with goats cheese and melon. Well it was those mini spicy jar red peppers out of a jar with a little bit of goats cheese stuck inside, served with a few slithers of melon which had barley touched a grill served on loads of iceberg lettuce to pad out the plate with a balsamic dribble over it. Not a good start. My colleague had fish soup and was advised it had salmon and muscles. Well it was warm water with cream and had 5 muscles floating in it in their shells , 2 were not even opened so discarded. The mains we had steak and chips. We ordered medium and the steak was half medium and half rare, our colleagues ordered well done and there's were the same as ours. The chips were pale thin and worm like, and had only been dipped in the frier but hadn't been been fried. I did complain at this point and they sent out a new platter of them but that was 10 mins after we'd eaten and to be honest they were still under cooked and pale. The steak had not been allowed to rest so there was blood on the plate which mingled with the 1 tablespoon of a cream like sauce (not sure there were peppercorns in it but it was brown) and yes guess what served with a pile of ice berg lettuce, a tiny slither of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber to pad out the plate. Everything served was overly salty. If the chef cant cook a chip or season food correctly then really? It felt like the chef had no pride and just threw the food out and the service was very hap hazard be it friendly. Sorry to give such a review as always try to be very positive but this was the worst experience i have had in a long time and for £100 per couple check it was not a cheap evening plus there was an extra 10% cover charge in small print at the bottom of the menu which is very unusual nowadays. On reading the other reviews, who is writing the reviews as we do not recommend as there are much nicer restaurants or pubs at a fraction of the cost in Warwick and surrounding area.

I honestly cannot believe the so called good reviews on this place. We booked a month ago on balance of customer experiences. Regretfully these do not match the food or service experienced by us this evening. Booked for 7pm. Restaurant was well lit but empty whereas others were busy. The only customers were a couple sitting drinking by the bar with the ‘staff’ We approached the back of the restaurant and were greeted by a lady who seemed surprised to have customers coming in. We said we had booked for 7 pm but were a few minutes late before being shown through to a quite cosy rear room area. We were shortly given menus and asked what drinks we would like. Being the only ones in we asked if they were busy later on and were told by the waitress she didn’t know because she hadn’t yet looked at the bookings. On perusing the menus we quickly realised the menu was far reduced from the online menu examples. Pointing this out we were told this was because so many people keep booking and not arriving it had cost them food wastage so it had been reduced. On reflection we should have made a decision to leave then and seek elsewhere but the lady serving seemed pleasant and told us a bit of the restaurants history over 13 years so we stuck it out and ordered. This could take a while; Fish platter starter, a flash back from the 80’s covered in cocktail sauce, a huge portion but all tasting the same. Fresh mussels mariniere big chunks of onion and far too much cream but ok. Served with soggy baked baguette. Main courses would have been very good had the beautifully cooked rack of lamb not been served on a stone cold plates with cold in the centre dauphinoise potato what were clearly frozen baby carrots. The stem broccoli was nicely cooked. I had to go and find a waitress to point out the issues and although she offered to replace it all we agreed to just have some extra fresh hot potatoes. As compensation we were given another bottle of house wine. However the occasion was ruined by the experience and almost cold food by the time the extra potatoes arrived, which weren’t actually a lot hotter than the previous ones. Who in this day says we don’t use hot plates in case someone may burn their fingers. We had desserts and coffee and they still charged us a service charge of £15. Not worth the £150 we ended up paying. Don’t get me started on the toilet decor or cleanliness One very positive point was really good coffees Regretfully this place won’t be there in another 12 months time or will have been revamped or sold on. I hope I’m wrong. But for now Don’t risk it !!!!

My starter comprised soggy salad leaves, a few baby stuffed peppers (I’ve bought better in the supermarket), some pieces of under- ripe melon and all drowned in a balsamic vinegar dressing. It wasn’t so bad that I complained but it was not exactly a pleasure to eat! One of my friends commented that the soup was not hot enough, but others seemed happy with their choices. For the main course I had duck a l’orange, which was perfectly fine but nothing special to justify the price. The service was more Joe’s Cafe than top restaurant and the staff seemed keen to get us served and out as quickly as possible. I will not be going again.

We were very lucky to come across le bistro 9 on a visit to Warwick this week. We popped in for a drink and quick bite but ended up staying for 3 hours as it's in a lovely location and the owner makes you feel so welcome. We enjoyed a pre meal drink and then we had three very well cooked meals. My wife and young son had steak which they each said were cooked exactly how they liked them. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked. The dauphinoise potatoes were very nice indeed. We then had desserts. My wife had a lovely creme brulee, my son had a very tasty and well presented banana split which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the cheese selection and what can I say, except it was the best cheese board I have had from a restaurant for a many few years now. Very generous portion and well presented.I nearly forgot the nachos and home made harissa dip which was very good, which we had with our drinks. The wine menu looked fantastic, but as I had already started on a well chilled dark Krombacher I decided to play it safe and stick to the hop.We all hope to be back very soon.

If I could give this a rating higher than excellent I would. My partner & I had spent the day at Warwick Castle & decided to have dinner in Warwick before heading home. We arrived in town around 4.30 & stumbled across this restaurant. They do not serve food until 6pm but we had drinks first. Paul (chef & owner) looked after us superbly. He ran through the menu to tell me that he could adapt the vast majority of dishes so that they were milk free. We were happy to wait for our meal, but Paul kindly brought our starters out around 5pm - leek & potato soup. Delicious. Not long after that he brought us our mains too - the duck & the fish & prawns. Again, these were delicious & perfectly cooked. There weren't any dairy-free desserts, which was fine as I'm not a dessert person. My partner ordered creme brulee, which he enjoyed. Very thoughtfully Paul had put a small fruit salad on the end of the plate so that I wasn't left out. A lovely touch. We were given complimentary coffees too at the end of the meal. It was a lovely end to a lovely day. A massive thank you to Paul & his wife for looking after us that evening.

I booked this restaurant because the web site looked OK and I like to try new places as I live in Warwick. OMG - what a disaster ! When we arrived I was met at the door by a guy who I later realised was the owner and chef ( cook) He was wearing dirty clothes eating a banana !! Well it got worse particularly when the food arrived. We both ordered muscles - we'll you can tell that we are as far from the coast as you can get ,. They were simply horrible and like eating rubber pellets . My partner ordered Duck a l"orange - it came a one duck Brest and an orange !!! not sliced or prepared in the way that you would expect . I played it safe and ordered steak . It was without any doubt the worst piece of meat I have encountered anywhere ! The veg , steak and pepper sauce which I did not order but was smothered over the plate was so salty that I felt sick. I fed back the above to the waitress but was further surprised to be asked if we wanted a pudding !!! The answer was a resounding NO. I paid the bill and we left to try and find something edible . Both my partner and I were determined that this was not to ruin our evening and are still laughing about the almost faulty Towers experience in the shabby , dirty, grotty excuse for a restaurant . I would not be surprised to find out that the chef was flipping burgers in a caravan park this time last year .

A quirky bistro at the top of Church Street in Warwick town centre. Plenty of seating outside and various areas inside. Good service and a tea and pastry offer of £4 each but if you order a pot of tea and have several cups beware of one of them tasting totally of sea salt! Don’t take a big mouthful!Apart from that it’s a great place for friends to chat and it stays open on a Saturday after the other coffee shops have closed around 3.30pm in the town.

I am sorry I could only have coffee and cake for £4 as the menu looked authentically French. However coffee was good and the patisserie was homemade Very nice coffee and proper French Patesserie

Although the restaurant itself was quiet ( the adjoining bar and bistro were busier) on the night we were there, we couldn’t fault the food , it’s presentation or the friendly service with an extensive wine list .All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere/ service .

We ate in this restaurant last night (Friday). Whilst we were having a pre-dinner drink at the bar and looking at the menu we asked a member of staff what the smoked fish platter consisted of. The lady went to ask someone else and came back and informed us it was smoked salmon, king prawns and chillies (??). When we queried the chillies with her she looked confused but another customer overheard the conversation and said it should have actually been anchovies!!

We decided on 7 Square on a whim. How fantastic! I had the rack of lamb and my wife had duck a l'orange. The food was so rich and delicious. We're paired our meals with a bottle of Cotes du Rhone Village Arbouse D'uchaux and it was spectacular. The real highlight of the night was also the lowlight for us. We're brought our dog, Penny, with us. She was welcomed with open arms and even treated to her own serving of pate and ham. Unfortunately her doggie system couldn't handle this rich food and she got sick. So embarrassing. Paul was still absolutely first class and wouldn't hear any of our pleas of apology and offers to clean up after our dog. He took care of everything and even sat with us for a moment to help us recapture the beauty of our evening out. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you, Paul, for a wonderful evening for my wife and I.

Waf Waf Cafe has quickly become our weekend breakfast tradition, and it never disappoints! The waffles are absolutely amazing—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, topped with a variety of delicious options. Their toasts are equally impressive, offering a perfect start to the day. But the real standout is the coffee; it’s hands down the best in town, giving us the perfect boost we need. The staff at Waf Waf Cafe are so friendly and polite! They make every visit special with their warm service, always ensuring we feel welcome and taken care of. Their attentive nature truly enhances the cozy atmosphere of the cafe. If you’re looking for a great spot , I highly recommend Waf Waf Cafe. You won’t regret it!

The food here was absolutely lovely. High quality, brilliant portions and a nice, friendly, unpretentious vibe. We hadn't been here before, but we were made to feel so welcome. It was genuinely one of the best Sunday lunches out I've ever had. Very VERY highly recommended!

Took my girlfriend here for an anniversary meal as she loves sushi. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of the lack of attentive customer service. Considering half of your menu is Order from a server and not from the belt, I think coming around once in an hour to ask about drinks and hot food is completely unacceptable. Considering the only time I managed to order hot food was when I went up to a server and asked if I could order. Also one of the servers ordered our food wrong and one member of staff spent their whole time on a laptop as we had waited to be seated for 5 minutes before she realised we were even there. There was only four tables taken so I think that three staff is plenty to ensure your customers have a good experience. I will not be returning again and this was some of the poorest customer service I’ve had for a long time, when we raised the issue we got a unenthusiastic apology that was clearly meant to just brush over the situation. Pathetic service for over priced food, I expect much better at these prices.
