I used to visit 7Bone regularly when it was located in the centre of Reading and I've always enjoyed their burgers and poutine. While they have moved premises, the food quality remains the same.

I’ve ordered from here several times in the past, unfortunately I’ve not had the opportunity to actually sit down in their restaurant yet, the food is absolutely amazing, my favourite is the PBBJ burger and the Poutine is also a great choice for anyone looking to try something a little different.

Had a lovely lunch sat outside and enjoy the view . Good service and food was lovely. Staff efficient and friendly. Would recommend 👌

We ordered a burger whilst at the Phantom Brewery and they delivered to our table! The food was really nice and well cooked! Good choice on the menu and food didn’t take long to arrive. Highly recommend the burger and chips!

Wrong order delivered to Phantom Brewery tapro om No way of rectifying 7 bones mistake. I won't be ordering from them again. This is a basic requirement to get the order right. Also the cheek of asking for a tip before delivery is not correct. This is not America. Tips are for good service,not for doing the basics

Moving from a unique, one of a kind, quirky restaurant to inside a brewery was a big mistake. After driving around for 35 minutes in circles trying to find the place, we parked down a side street for another 5 minute walk. We finally found signs for 7bone we ended up in a staff area and asked where we could sit down and eat. We were told to goto Phantom Brewing co. Another 2 minute walk away. We sat down and ordered our food which was delivered to the brewery in a Deliveroo bag. Food was nice but experience ruined by the whole situation.

This place is very very good. The burgers are superb and the chicken tenders are exactly that, tender and flavourful. I tried the seasoned tater tots as a side and they were fried perfectly, crispy and textured exactly as they should be. The Oreo malt shake was thick and you could taste the Oreo’s and malt. They clearly hadn’t been stingy with the ingredients.

The burguer was good, but I ordered a meal and I have received a coleslaw salad, coke and a burguer for £21!! When I claim to Deliveroo they gave to me 0.80 back…. That’s a joke

Really creative take on burgers! Definitely try different burgers out every time: some include dipping sauces, different ways of incorporating the cheese and meat, different special ingredients etc. The burger is fulling especially with the shake.

I was working locally for a few days and a colleague recommended 7 bones and all I can say is wow staff are amazing with a great knowledge of all items on the menu enjoy I enjoyed the place so much that I visited bout nights of my trip can’t recommend enough

The food here is delicious and not too pricey. You don't have a server constantly coming over and interrupting your meal. Every time I have went the staff were always friendly. This is my new favorite burger place!

Don’t get McDonalds, don’t get KFC, don’t get BurgerKing, go here instead. Damn the food is good.

(2019) - Always a good meal (loaded with calories, mind you) and pleasant service. (2024) - The dine-in experience is not so pleasant anymore; you order with your phone to have food delivered from down the road to a warehouse brewery with a 45-minute wait. It's essentially delivery. Largely uncomfortable atmosphere. Menu has been reduced, too. Maybe just delivery from now on.

Burger was just about OK... Plenty of chips but chucked half of them as just about warm and tasted stowe.... Very disappointed as most reviews looked OK...

I first heard about 7bone last year when my mate decided to order in. Ever since, 7Bone have been my Uni house' go-to choice. Always deliver outstanding burgers - no other takeaway burgers come close. Especially McDonalds who often get orders wrong. Do not know what I would do without that Ronald's Revenge every once in a while. Keep up the great work, guys! xx

Delivery ordered on Friday night, busy day so the order took 1+ hours to arrive. Burgers Donnie J Trump and Triple B were good and tasty, the cheese and bacon fries were not too bad, they sent the cheese on the side but the cheese sauce was too rich for me. Price was okay, ~12GBP per burger. In my opinion, there are better options around but it was good experience trying it. The packaging for delivery is awesome, well designed.

Finally a good fudging burger!! I had long ago accepted that maybe the UK isn’t the place for a good burger. Most are fine but nothing to write home aboot. I managed (and grilled in) a burger restaurant for 6 years so I’m a bit hard to please in this department. That’s fine, I manage my expectations. But damn! This meat is spot on! Bottom bun was soggy but it came by delivery so can’t fault them much for that. Their poutine - while the fries themselves could use some work - is the real deal. Mouth watering gravy and proper squeaky curds. Correct flavour combo between the two. Canadian approved 🍁 (only wish the gravy got poured on piping hot to melt the curds but I also really appreciate my food not packaged in styrofoam so I’m not too bothered to microwave it a little to get there). Got some tots to try as well. Lovely and crispy. They have likely ended my search for a good local burger and will probably be the only place I order from going forward aside from the occasional branch out to see if there’s anything better. Well done!

7 Bone Reading is fantastic! The atmosphere is lively, and the menu offers a variety of delicious dishes. The flavors are spot-on, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Don't skip the special burgers – they're a must-try. Overall, a great spot for a satisfying and enjoyable meal!

Visited recently with a group of friends & will definitely be going back! Quirky & fun, food was unreal - particularly good for a cheat meal! Great vegan options for one of our group and cannot fault the staff - super friendly, helpful and down to earth too! Made conversation and genuinely cared! 10/10 guys - thanks for such a great evening!

If u got some extra money to waste then do order from this place. Worst service. And if u like to spoil dinner do visit them.

Visited on a Friday evening , All four of our burgers were cold. This included the chips and the sides. You have to go up and order/pay for your meal and then return to be seated whilst you wait for you Food. Staff are not very welcoming and were not very apologetic when we sent the food back. We were offered the option for it to be reheated or fresh food. Fresh burgers were made for us which were hot however my one big chicken tasted of nothing. The restaurant could do with a good scrub throughout especially the toilet.

I had ordered this food as a takeaway. Service seemed quick enough however the burger was just average and the chips tasted days old as they were dry and crispy.

Best place to eat in Reading. Delicious food. I usually pick Peter green with seasoned fries all the time. Friendly staff and good vibes too.

Cannot fault 7 Bone! Highly recommend the Prince Charles is Overrated and the Kyiv Tots...Halloumi fries absolutely bang too!!! The only UK burger than rivals In and Out in the States.....Well done 7 Bone!

they seem to take orders only through QR code over their website nowadays. This would be no issue normally except their website did not work at all for me. I waited for like half an hour and no one came to physically take my order so I had to leave with just an orange juice from the brewery they partnered with. A real shame. Orange juice was okay tho.

Food was amazing, one of the best burgers around, nice little brewery bar/ American diner vibes will definitely be coming and I travelled over an hour to get there and its well worth it.

Definite authentic American experience! Great range of dirty burgers and innovative sides. I honestly didn't have the room, but am kicking myself that I didn't try the shake!

I love that the burgers are such a nice size, not too big, not too small..just right. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and helpful and overall the staff were great. Lovely atmosphere, food was delicious, definitely worth a visit.

Decided to give this place a try on a Saturday night. Fairly deserted at visit (although I did see delivery orders being prepared) despite it being a peak time set off warning signals. Not particularly keen on the whole QR ordering system. Part of eating out is not having to wade through do it yourself on the mobile. Server agreed to take our order cheerfully enough, but this proved fatal as we were left alone far too long after finishing the food (I might have actually ordered dessert). I had to chase down the bill myself. Ambience is lacking; interior felt too underwhelming, from the spartan decor to my can of Diet Coke with a straw (no glass) to food served on plastic trays to the rolls of paper towels as napkin substitutes (although our table lacked one). As to the food, it was ok. I want more than ok when I eat out. The can of Diet Coke was overpriced. The chicken tenders lacked crispness. My veggie burger was fairly tasteless and soggy. The Baldelli fries were borderline cold and certainly devoid of any wow factor. Tldr version: average food plus do it yourself service (dished out in what looks like a place inside a bowling alley) isn’t something that inspires me to want to return in the future.

First time Saturday. We were recommended by our daughter who has been a couple of weeks prior. We travelled from south Bucks and boy was it worth it! The cheese burger came with gravy(?). On it own it was ok but a little bland. Dipping it into the gravy was FANTASTIC. And it didn’t fall apart. How did they think of that? The divine Mrs M had the chicken burger which she said was also great. It was very tasty but I don’t like chipotle. The onions deep fried were better than the fries you normally have with a burger. The hash browns were clearly made in house as they were moist and well seasoned. Great ppl serving! The queue out the door shows how popular this place is. 10/10.

Best burger and milkshake ever.

Nice relaxed atmosphere with great staff. Unfortunately the food let it down. Seasoned fries were quite bland - not sure what the seasoning was… they could have also been crispier as were quite soggy. Pickles in the burger were 2 large chunks rather than slices, and hardly any onions. Perhaps their other menu items fare better.

The main point of my review is that it absolutely stinks in here. I mean it really really smells like an overflowing toilet. Very strong smell of sewage. Not figuratively, but literally. So avoid for that reason, until they fix that. Aside from that, the food was ok, nothing special to justify the quite high prices. Food is served in plastic baskets, the service was quick but not the most friendly. The menu was apparently designed by someone that didn't really review it for understandability, it's fairly confusing what you're trying to order. And the decoration of the place is not very conducive to a nice experience: i get that industrial chic and boho unfinished construction is the in-thing, but this takes things a bit far. Also either whoever fitted the upstairs toilet purposefully chose dark green sealant, or it's gone extremely mouldy... Overall: avoid and go to Honest Burger or Five Guys.

First burger joint serving a proper American-style burger with raw onion, pickles, American mustard and ketchup. Thick but tender bun fell apart. Nice, juicy smashed double patties but no real crust and the beef flavour didn’t come through. Plenty of nice crispy & seasoned fries and excellent ‘Sauce Shop’ ketchup. Very friendly server. There is a huge choice of stackable fillings if that’s what floats your boat. Pretty good.

The menu does take time to analyze and understand; some people may think of burgers as the cornerstone of any nutritional value, washed down with quality beverages.

Ordered 5 burgers, only 4 arrived!! Phoned and was offered a refund however that doesn’t help me when I’ve been waiting for over an hours for it not to turn up. (Order was on the receipt) Won’t be ordering from them again.

Me and my husband were fasting and we went for iftar here and we were not disappointed. The staff were amazing and very accommodating, offering the food to be exact on time, warm and served with a smile. The food was delicious and great portions with real good value for money. Absolutely loved the service and food and highly recommend!

Terrible takeout. Collected order, returned home to find all drinks missing. Called restaurant only to be offered voucher for next visit which I refused. Fries were barely cooked. Save your money and go elsewhere.

It’s overpriced for what it offers. They have McDonald’s fries with a bit of paprika sprinkled on them. The wings were meatless and not very flavorful. the place smelled really bad and it felt sticky. There were also flies everywhere which pulls you off from eating completelty. On the positive side the waitress was very polite she had a really good customer service and the milkshake was really nice!

Everything has clearly been done on the cheap. No napkins, rather they had Asda basics kitchen roll. No plates, rather cheap, red, plastic trays. £2.40 for a SMALL CAN of coke. The size of the coke wasn't specified so you can hardly blame us for expecting at least a pint of pepsi. The disabled toilets were filthy, the regular toilets were out of order. Smelled and looked like a public toilet. Food took an hour to arrive from being seated alongside a friendly swarm of flies. I'd expect this from a business that started up last week but supposedly this place has been open 3+ years. How??

Had their chicken burgers which were just perfect. Best mac and cheese I've ever had especially their truffle mac and cheese. Milkshakes are perfect but recommend getting them during the mains

Unfortunately I was quite surprised about how bad my vegan burger was. The bottom was soggy from the weird juice that my 'cheezy' fries were in, which also had barely any cheese on. The facon in my burger was so hard it felt like it had been re-cooked in the microwave, it nearly broke a tooth. The staff were ok, nice enough. I'd tried 7bone before in Portsmouth and thought it was a bit different and tasty, I was pretty disappointed to return to a 7bone and receive what I could only explain to be an after thought...

Incredible vegan options. Reliably good with some AMAZING takeouts, can’t recommend the Vegan dirty burgers enough.

Best burgers in town!! Their burgers are a little bit jusy and their buns are soft but sturdy. Their sides are equally delicious. My favorite was the "All right all right all right burger" with the chille cheese fries. This place is definitely worth it.

Great food and didn’t have to wait long!

The best burger place! We came here for a late lunch and it was absolutely delicious. We had the Prince Charles burger and a biscoff milkshake - which was also absolutely amazing. The service was also very efficient and our server (Dan) was very friendly and answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend, however a touch on the pricey side.

Tasty food and great service. Bun seems like it's been microwaved but otherwise very good.

Was so excited to eat here cause the reviews were good but I was very disappointed.. I ordered the burgers well done and they came after 40 mins medium- well. I had bite and they were practically tasteless.. After waiting another 20 mins they brought in my well done burger and the taste was the same. 😐 Anyway although short staffed, they were really nice and polite!

Great tasting large vegan burger and generous portion of fries. The only place that seems to do vegan cheese in Central Reading! The front of the restaurant badly needs repainting and the slogan and window text are ironically very off-putting to vegans and vegetarians! "Lies" and "dirty fries" is also a very odd choice of words! Otherwise 5 stars

Amazing burger, and maybe the best milkshake I've had!

Does what it says on the tin, dirty burgers, fries, chicken and dogs, boozy shakes, craft beers and of course soft and non alcoholic options, decor is intentionally rough and ready, don't go often but never had a bad one there, recommend a patty melt with chilli tots and a shake of your choice 👍

Oh my gosh - this is delicious. The staff are jokes and always make the night fun. Love it here.
