We had breakfast here 2 days on the run whilst holidaying in the area. When turning into the site, you might think you are in a working farm with barn style buildings and sheds but most of them are converted units , eventually you arrive at a small patio for eating just outside the farm shop and 53 cafe is inside on the left. What a surprise-efficient, pleasant service by all staff and the produce is excellent-good quality bacon and sausages for breakfast and more importantly reasonably priced. This little gem went straight into my contacts list and we will definitely re-visit if and when in the area again.

Breakfast on a few occasions now, this was probably the worst, one of our guests waiting 10 minutes longer than the rest of us for breakfast. Just to busy now turning tables within the hour, we will go somewhere else a bit more relaxed. Not about the customer any more, just money.

Recommended by the garden centre up the road so called in for a light lunch. I had soup-of-the-week which was mushroom and it came in a big bowl and was definitely home made. Served with 4 pieces of ciabatta it certainly filled a gap. My wife had a bacon, apple & peanut butter toastie and it was served with root veg crisps. With a pina colada & a diet coke the bill was £28 but, for me, well worth it

Such a lovely breakfast! Food was so tasty and fresh… which you would assume for a restaurant on a farm! Staff were polite. The restaurant was not well sign-posted at all and left us driving up and down the farm/country roads, so a clear sign would be helpful! But will definitely be back!

I went there to celebrate my 57th birthday for breakfast with my 84 yo mum. When we got there at about 9:45 one other couple and there infant was already there. The room was cold. A member of staff at the bar had A coat on too so I knew it wasn't just me. We both love eggs Benedict so ordered this dish. When lt came presentation was stunning and the portion plentiful. We was informed the flowers edible. To our disappointment the eggs were barely warm the muffin cold and difficult to cut. To top it all I'm guessing the hollandaise sauce was home made and did not have the expected taste. I'm fairness the waiter did offer to replace the meals. Had the sauce been nice we would have taken him up on the offer. Instead we had a complimentary round of toast each instead. Maybe less time should be spent on decorating the plate,!!! To add to the cold ambience in the background for much of the meal there was the sound of cutlery being put away. Not being done noisily but certainly not being done discreetly. The toilets are outside 2 individual small square portakabin style perfectly clean but FREEZING,! I have tried to give a fair and accurate description of our experience!!

I posted an initial and honest review based simply on the experience. Which was at best, only just ok. I posted it and a few days later the owner contacted me on messenger challenging my review and casting aspersions as to my motivation and me personally. He also invited me to contact him but had blocked me thus negating the offer! So I mailed him via the venue, pointing out that whilst I respected his right to comment equally he must respect my right to review. I make no claims as to being a professionally qualified reviewer, but my 1900+ reviews on trip advisor suggest reasonable awareness and experience. I have friends who are professional reviewers who acknowledge my reviewing skills and indeed follow me and go to venues to validate my experience. Some of the cooking was reasonable, I simply commented on the size of the octopus portion decreasing and the garnish being far too sweet, plus the whitebait undercooked. We did tell the waitress who just nodded and didn’t tell us if she would pass it on. Apparently the sole waitress was only 17 which was his only explanation about her inaction. I later discovered when he told me the previous chef left under a cloud, a fact I was clearly unaware of, despite owner suggesting my alleged “friendship” (which wasn’t true) with the previous chef was the reason for my review. I am sure the owner is committed to his business, the fact that he felt able to share unwanted personal details perplexed me slightly. e mails from him were getting more tangential so I specifically asked him not to message me anymore. When the next e mail came I simply put his various e mail addresses to my junk list so I don’t need to read diatribes from him. The venue needs to focus on feedback rather than the reviewer. I won’t sadly be interacting with this venue further. The owner really to move away from supercilious name calling that suggests a diagnostic ability way beyond his skill set (unlike my previous professional status), and sort out his own venue, then it won't attract other critical reviews that appear on his unclaimed trip advisor profile. It is nonsense to suggest you need to be an expert to submit a review, its experiential not a professional analysis. Ps a tv channel did get me to participate in a review programme as they recognised my skills unlike vitriolic owner. Apparently this delusional owner thinks you need to get his permission to review, I post on multiple pages (over 1,000,000 readers on trip advisor) ergo this will appear on a significant number of different review pages, from google, hardens and trip advisor amongst others. In his website promotion, he describes it as a leading venue in Essex! Not sure what it leads? Clearly not quality gastronomy, the menu has dumbed down to be a very basic stereotypical non event. If they concentrated on feedback and quality rather than florid e mails inappropriately targeting reviewers it might regain its totally lost focus. I have been lucky enough to eat in over 50 of the top 100 restaurants in the UK, as listed by Michelin, hardens, good food guide and AA combined

We visited this restaurant on Friday the 17th of November there were 5 of us. The food was amazing, presentation perfect, waitress excellent. I have an allergy, and the waitress and the chef went above and beyond to help me. My husband had soft shell crab best his had he said My grandson had meatball and loved them. All the other dishes were perfect. We were so impressed. My husband and I decided to return on Saturday, 26th Nov. OMG Totally different wasn't the same chef or waitress. I informed the waitress that I had an allergy she went in the kitchen chef crossed of the menu food I couldn't eat. No thought, no, let's see how I can accommodate you. My husband had a soft shell crab it was cooked in so much oil that it wasn't crispy at all. One piece didn't even look like crab it looked like a large piece of batter. The garlic prawns were swimming in oil, and as for the omelette, the taste was disgusting. Mackerel, I couldn't see it it was so small and tasted of nothing. There was no thought or presentation in the drinks. I had pink gin last time with ice and fruit very good This time, it was here you are with a straw. Desert - I explained what the last chef had come up with to accondate my allergy. I received the same thing as the previous week in 2 small bowls no thought no presentation I showed her a picture of what I had previously her answer was oh it's in a bigger bowl I asked if she wouldn't mind getting me one I ate some of it but it didn't seem right. When I got home I was very ill. Clearly, it wasn't the same as last week. The waitress then went around everyones tables, repeating herself several times and asking the guests if they wanted their bill as we close at 10pm. it was 9.40 I was very disappointed. I really thought we had found a nice restaurant. The other chef has clearly left what a shame he was 100% better than this chef.

Second time visiting here for Sunday lunch after the first visit was so amazing. It wasn't the case on the 2nd visit. i must say all the waiting staff are brilliant, and this view in no way reflects them as i think they do a really good. We were told when we ordered our starters that they had run out of lamb, and only chicken and pork belly were available. The starters arrived, and my wifes soup was freezing cold, which we had to return. When we came to order our mains, they had run out of pork belly, only chicken was available the lady serving did find me some lamb . Then they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. The meat turned up cold and had to be sent back to be microwaved This isn't a cheap meal, really, and seeing as they only have one sitting for Sunday lunch, they shouldn't be running out of food that quickly. They knocked 2 drinks off of the bill, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, i don't think we'll be going back after this experience

Went here for a birthday breakfast. Waitress took drinks order 8 turned up 4 didn’t. Ordered food which was double checked, 1 x child wanted scrambled egg on toast which came up as all the adults had finished eating, not good for a hungry 5 year old. When breakfasts came out were errors and had someone waiting for a breakfast with large beans, when they said that they said well your order can’t be wrong, yet you could see none of the beans were bigger they were all small, eventually she changed it but was a little rude about it. Eggs were not cooked well and were cold. For the prices charged I expected a lot better to be honest and won’t rush back.

I booked a table at the 53 Fobbing restaurant for myself and a friend online. Neither of us had ever been here before so decided to try breakfast. We arrived bang on time and we’re led to a lovely table for 2 where a little mini chalkboard had my name written on it reserving the table. The waitress came over promptly and took our drink and breakfast orders. She was really lovely and friendly (her name was Fi-Fi) Our breakfast arrived and was beautifully presented and tasted AMAZING! I ordered the mini breakfast and my friend the eggs Benedict. All the produce was so fresh and tasty and both of us commented on how big the portions were. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and it had a lovely atmosphere. When we paid the bill we were given a 10% off voucher to use that day in the fobbing Farm shop that was just next door. Can honestly say that was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had - we will definitely be returning!

Firstly, the trip advisor listing is wrong. This place is in Essex not Lincolnshire it's 170 miles difference. Visited here after a few friends recommended it the Sunday lunch was amazing, best bit if pork belly I've eaten in years perfectly seasoned and cooked. The potatoes and veg were all fresh and tasted lovely, not pre packed stuff. All the food was piping hot staff were brilliant really nice atmosphere. It's a little awkward to find as it's within fobbing farm shop just drive into farm shop entrance, and it's at the end. My advice ditch the carvery and give this place a try you won't regret it.
