Ordered a chocolate croissant. They asked if we wanted it warm. It arrived on the plate having been warmed in the panini maker. It was ironed not recognisable as a croissant 5 mm squashed and had scorch lines through it. Literally looked at it in shock. Thinking about the ham and onions that might have gone through that panini maker. Asked for a cappuccino without chocolate it came with chocolate. The staff spent most of their time in the sister breakfast club over the road chatting while people queued. I heard Customer asked for iced latte with oat milk they gave her regular milk. She checked “this is oak milk” and they changed it but a worry if she had an allergy.

Looks nice from outside so thought we’d try it for coffee and a snack. Wow - the place was soooo filthy. Unfortunately we’d ordered before I’d noticed just how mucky everything was. Not surprised when the sandwich appeared…the filling could only be described as a brown mush with an undercook greasy fried egg on top covered in pepper. Because I was starving hungry I ate half the sandwich (didn’t dare touch the egg) but all of it looked wholly unappetising. The vinyl seating was caked in greasy dirt and every surface looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in forever. Unfortunately we could see into the kitchen and noted the floor was littered with old bits of food and my sandwich served on a wet plate by the indifferent chef/waitress who clearly didn’t want to be there. No hygiene standards AT ALL. I’ll be amazed if I don’t spend the evening with food poisoning. The people who run this place have clearly fallen out of love with it as there is ZERO effort to clean and serve decent food. It makes the dirtest restaurants on ‘Ramseys Kitchen Nighmares’ look good in comparison.

Visited here with my friend Saturday afternoon. Lovely chilled atmosphere and quick service. Didn’t need to book. I had the immunity booster smoothie and the spinach and feta roll, my friend had a toastie. Everything was delicious and it’s brilliant value for money. We stayed and chatted for a while afterwards, didn’t feel rushed at all. This place is a little bit tucked away so could be easy to miss opposite the busy Clarence Park. I’m so glad I stumbled across it and will be back!

A small efficiently run cafe providing good alternative choices. They serve distinctly flavoured coffee which could be appreciated even more if the amount of froth served with it was to be reduced a little more. I

Decent tasting takeaway breakfast but was charged far above the advertised prices. Didn't have time to argue it out but really you need to stop such behaviour, as it's in fact illegal.

I was very impressed with the decor inside but unfortunately after that it went downhill. This place has the potential to be a great spot with good menus and pretty interiors but the lack of hygiene is a huge issue, especially in this current climate. We had to return our glasses for our water because they were dirty and you could see where the previous person had drank out of them, and the second glasses we were given were even dirtier. We were hoping that this was going to be the only issue however my partner found hair in his food and you could see into the kitchen that the chefs had no aprons/hairnets/protective clothing on. Really disappointed by this experience as at the moment hygiene should be your top priority.

I went to Luton branch today with 2 other work colleague. After ordering the food and waited about 15-20 mins a waitress came and asked what we ordered and took the order again. After another 15 mins or so 2 item arrived and third person did not receive her order. Waited another 3-5 mins then asked one of the staff what has happened to her order. Was told its coming and had to wait another 5 min or so. By the time it arrived 2 of us already finished eating ours. We ordered 3 drinks. Only 2 was served. Found the food average but the service very poor.

Came across this place by accident when I mistakenly turned up for a physio appointment an hour early round the corner. Wandered in here for a cup of tea and some breakfast. The staff were really friendly and both the tea and breakfast (I had the poached eggs and avocado on sourdough) were really tasty. Everything else on the menu looked delicious too. I will definitely be back.

I went to the Luton branch with is newly opened for breakfast. I made a reservation the night before. On arrival we were met with 4/5 workers saying they didn’t have our reservation! We informed them it was reserved yesterday and it was all confirmed with a gentlemen. The tables were empty apart from one family, no reservations notices on the table and they’re telling me we can’t sit because We don’t have a reservation. The woman at the front with the glasses is extremely rude! She will say no even before you tell her your name! They seemed really annoyed, they then told us we could have the back table, we sat down. We ordered breakfast, we were served by Ella, who was absolutely lovely so attentive. We got our tea well before breakfast, so the tea was cold by the time breakfast came. I wouldn’t go back to this branch again as I found some of the staff rude and annoyed as they assumed we didn’t have a reservation! Another couple came and they were also questioned about their reservation which they also had made! They tend to turn people away even though tables are empty! At least if they have the reservation tickets on them you know they’re reserved. I wouldn’t go back here again because of the staff attitude.

I was over charged and then when I questioned it I had to say 3 times and show them the prices they were advertising because they kept saying it was the correct price. Also the food wasn't very good.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast here about a month ago. The porridge was so tasty! The staff were very friendly, the food was yummy, the service was a little slow but only because it was very busy at that time. It's in a cute location with a little hatch to get takeaway food too. Would recommend!

It is a while since I last visited the 50Nine café and what a mistake that has been. We visited early on a Sunday morning and the café was busy with four people working in the kitchen (in comparison: we went past a couple of other cafes on the way and one was empty and the other had hardly any customers). I had a fantastic barista coffee along with the most delicious chocolate covered flapjack. Looking at the menu card: I think I will return shortly and try some of their Indian Street Food. Well recommended.

Went there earlier this evening with my father.I've even takeout from this place before but never sat inside. Wonderful food as usual, friendly service and who can complain about being able to have a full English in the evening? I'm vegan and he isn't and both of our tastes were more than satisfied by what was on offer, he told me that he was going to take his girlfriend at some point in the near future. A clean establishment with rustic, welcoming decor. For those who are curious they have power outlets beside the tables that may be good news to those who wish to use their laptops there with a nice coffee or simply need to charge their device.

I’ve ordered takeaway from 50nine before but today I was passing and decided to eat in. I had the sweet potato burger with a chickpea side salad and it was delicious. I’m not normally keen on veggie burgers but this was so lovely. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere too- the focus is well-being and health but without being pretentious.I’ve also had avocado toast from here before and would definitely recommend.

Lovely cafe, the iced coffee was great and the decor is really lovely. However maybe a bit overpriced?! Perhaps this is because it's just opened... Still worth a visit though for somewhere not in the town centre and very near to the station.

Beautiful new cafe near Clarence Park in St Albans. Knocks spots of anything in the centre of town and will now be my regular. Coffee was honestly the best I've had in St Albans and the selection of smoothies and juices are also top notch. Great place to work or have a chat with friends. Would highly recommend.

Girls who walk lunch gathering - Tudors restaurant was recommended and booked on as a Groupon Steak and Prosecco deal. Not being a steak eater, this was swapped out for Fish and chips and was no problem for our accommodating waiting staff. Starter (Not part of the deal) was Shrimps with garlic butter and bread. Whilst this was quite enjoyable - the Grease from the garlic butter was excessive and not conducive for a pre-diabetic diet. The mains - Fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. Was plentiful and chips nice and fluffy. The fish was not In my opinion fresh and the batter was over done. The mushy peas was dry and bland and I did not eat it or the Tartare sauce. Dessert (Not part of the deal) was Vanilla Ice cream and a welcomed treat on such a hot day/weather. All in all I was disappointed with the food and felt it was "Just okay". Will I visit again? The jury is out. Thanks for the friendly service though.
