I had read great things about this pizzeria. And as a regular at the famous pizzeria in Naples, I went here with the best intentions. Which however were partially disappointed. The pizza was good, as were the fried foods but not at all comparable to the excellence that you eat in Naples. The service was quite fast but cold and hasty, far from what you would expect in a Neapolitan restaurant. The environment also left me perplexed: very high ceiling, it looks like a former warehouse, and floors that are not exactly clean. I will leave aside any comment on the bathrooms (almost always pitiful in all of London). Its strong point is its proximity to Trafalgar and all the services of the city center. The prices are in line with the London average.

This place really knows how to serve pizza. We arrived at noon on a Monday and was lucky enough to get a table. We ordered a couple of Margarita pizzas and they were huge ((bigger than a 12 inch) and delicious! The staff was prompt, friendly, helpful. The pizzas arrived within 10 minutes it seems (which was welcomed considering we were hungry). We see why this place is a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike.

As the bus didn't appear to be arriving anytime soon I popped into this pizza restaurant which is directly behind the bus stop. The staff were attentive and the food arrived quite quickly. However, that has to be the last of my compliments. The pizza looked good and the outside crust was crispy. The downside was that what was supposed to be a tomato sauce was so thin and watery that it made the base wet and soggy. All that was needed to make this an appetising pizza was more tomato in the sauce!

I had high expectations after everything I'd read, and I have to say that while the pizzas aren't bad at all, it didn't seem so crazy to me that it warranted so many awards. We also had a salad, which was so-so, and the pistamisu for dessert, which was truly glorious. Prices, like everywhere in London, expensive, but you know that. Decent service; the guy who served us was very nice. The place is nice; it's been around for a few months, but I don't consider it cramped either.

Good pizza in a very central location in London. I had high expectations as this restaurant was previously ranked as Europe's best pizzeria (outside of Italy). While the pizzas are well made and authentic, i found they were missing the wow factor of other pizzerias at this caliber of ranking and price point. Perhaps this is a result of maintaining traditional authenticity. Overall, the pizzas are tasty and worth stopping for if nearby. Do make a reservation as the place gets very busy.

I visited on a Wednesday and was approached by a very unfriendly staff member. I came alone to dine in, as I’ve done many times before, but it’s clear that the customer service has been getting worse with each visit. The lady took my details three separate times, each time with errors, and gave the impression she wasn’t interested in helping at all. I was told there would be a 40-minute wait — which I was more than happy to accept since I was in the area. But what truly disappointed me was that no one ever contacted me afterward. For a place known for its food, the service is now well below what one would expect — honestly, not even worth one star based on this experience.

Waste of money! We went for the first (and last) time and we left extremely disappointed, we paid for the name and the marketing, not for the food. As soon as we entered we felt people were squeezed like chickens, you will find people seating and eating by the entrance (exit) on a 50 cm table. The right side of the room is mostly closed by a wall and some mirrors (very '50s decor), a shiny marble wall and shelf in front covering the red bricks of the kitchen (the only authentic pizza style decor). The wall all around had a black paint, and the ceiling a completely different style, with the wooden floor painted black and white and the tables looking like the came from a different place as well. None of them were matching each other, not even two of them. 1 little pyramid (suppli) and 1 crocchè at £5 each. The margherita was ok, you cannot be wrong with that. And yet the cornicione was really burnt at the bottom my son couldn't eat it (he stained his hand with the charred pizza and painted his face, shirt and everything else). The waitress strongly recommended the artichockes and provolone and we added the salsiccia and friarielli as well. The first was tasteless, literally £19 in the bin. The puree was ok in taste, but was not edible as full of filaments from the hard leaves of the artichokes. We couldn't taste the pecorino at all, the mozzarella was covering every flavour giving a rather chewy/gummy texture to the pizza. The artichokes on top were straight from the sunflower oil, tasteless as ever. Salsiccia and friarielli was good (probably because next to the other became the highlight of the night). We went for a lemon cake to celebrate my wife birthday, what shall I say? We are still looking for the taste of lemon. Very good patisserie cream though. The toilets were disgusting, it was 8:30pm and they were checked last time at 4:00pm. Dirty, small, filthy. A wheelchair couldn't access unless some people move their table... All in all we felt we were eating tasteless food, in the space of a chicken at the price of a real good burger place. Italian food is definitely something else (from an Italian in London).

EDIT: Tried 50 Kalo a 2nd time and unfortunately it did not hit the mark this time around. The pizzas are undoubtedly excellent however the service could be much improved. In addition, the place is small and filled with tables meaning you have a constant stream of people passing next to, and behind you, while eating - this did not make for a pleasant experience at all. It was the second time we went to 50 kalò in London, we know it because we are regular customers of the restaurant you have in Rome. The food was good, but unfortunately this time the experience was ruined by the unacceptable attitude of the waitress. From the first moment he started flirting openly with my boyfriend: jokes, winking smiles and constant attention directed only at him, totally ignoring me. even asking his name, where he was from... when we had to order coffee he only asked him if he wanted it, making the situation extremely embarrassing. To top it off, when it was time to pay, he stared at him without any shame. The atmosphere was so unpleasant that it ruined our lunch. Nestled just off Trafalgar Square, 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo brings the mastery of third-generation pizzaiolo Ciro Salvo to London's dining scene. The name "50 Kalo" translates to "good dough" in local Neapolitan dialect, and their emphasis on high hydration and low protein flours showcases their dedication to perfection. While the interior features an interesting mix of double-height ceilings and marble columns paired with cozy cushion-covered booths, don't let the eclectic design distract you – because the food here is absolutely knock-your-socks-off good! The restaurant boasts an authentic wood-fired oven that reaches temperatures of 480-500°C, cooking each pizza to perfection in just over a minute. The pizzas are true masterpieces, featuring soft and thin Neapolitan-style bases with perfectly crispy outer edges and characteristic charring marks. The mozzarella, flown in directly from Campania, is gorgeously gooey and pairs beautifully with their premium toppings. The starters are equally impressive – don't miss their thick potato croquettes in crisp breadcrumbs or their delightful cheese and ham-packed omelette. Their commitment to quality ingredients is evident in details like their olive oil, which is sourced from the two-Michelin-starred Don Alfonso 1890's own farm opposite Capri. The friendly Italian staff provide wonderful service, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the quality. While side dishes are available, the generous portion sizes of their pizzas mean you likely won't need them. Pro tip: save some crusts to scoop up the delicious leftover sauce – you won't want to waste a single bite! It's no surprise that 50 Kalò London has been awarded the prestigious "3 slices" (the highest award for a pizzeria) for the fifth consecutive year, maintaining its position as London's best pizzeria. Even native Italians give this place their stamp of approval, praising the perfectly structured dough that holds the sauce and toppings beautifully when you pick up a slice. Whether you're a pizza connoisseur or simply someone who appreciates exceptional food, 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo offers an authentic Neapolitan pizza experience that's truly worth seeking out. It's more than just a meal – it's a celebration of Italian culinary tradition and craftsmanship right in the heart of London.

The restaurant is undeniably elegant and beautifully designed inside — a lovely atmosphere overall. Unfortunately, our table was placed right next to the entrance, and it was quite cold. I do understand the staff needing to move in and out to serve the outside tables, but it did make the dining experience less comfortable. One thing that really surprised me, though, was overhearing staff gossiping in Italian about other customers’ behavior. As an Italian myself (though speaking English with my husband), I found this incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. As for the food, it’s a mixed bag. The frittatina was outstanding — honestly a 5/5, possibly even better than some I’ve had in Naples. Some toppings on the pizza were excellent: high-quality ingredients, especially the bresaola and the olive oil. But the dough was a big letdown. The crust was too low, and the texture overall was very rubbery and heavy. It sat in the stomach, and I couldn’t finish more than half. It’s a shame, really, this place has great potential with its ambiance and some standout dishes, but the service attitude and pizza dough need serious improvement.

Toilets were clean, however, bear in mind there’s only 1x for each genre. Overall premises are beautiful, even though tables are a slightly closer to each others. I can't remember at this stage what pizza I got, but on trying what the others got they were all delicious. It's very expensive but then it's a stone's throw from Trafalgar square and well within the tourist trap - not helped that the pound trades unfavourably against the Euro. But that pizza ... it was amazing. If I'm back in London again I'd return.

I had an amazing pizza today. I am particular about my taste and I must say their Tiramisu and pizza won me. I'll come again...

Not great, we’ve tried pizza places around covent garden and Whitehall. The ingredients don’t taste fresh, more canned, dough is just fine, not worth the price.

All smoke and no roast pizza too thin No flavor too much oil on top. I've eaten better. And the brand you pay for. Enhance the best ingredients with the prices you ask. And impose the tip but SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!

What a destination! The ambience. The location. The service - from the doorman all the way to Beatrice - wonderful front of house - to the waiters and kitchen crew, to the music, to the decor, to the FOOD. Oh the wonderful food. We LOVED it. Thank you so much for an unforgettable birthday dinner party. My husband & family were absolutely thrilled. And we’ve been to quite a few Italian restaurants, from fine dining / Michelin star in London to off the beaten track in the corners of Rome. So we came with high expectations. I couldn’t believe the price at the end, for that quality of food, service and entertainment - I’d have expected to pay 2-3x more! Highly recommend this is one of my new fav top spots in London. I loved how attentive and helpful everyone was - they were incredibly professional, polite & pleasant - every single second. And we were a large demanding group! If you’re looking for reliable service, elegant ambience, DELICIOUS authentic Italian food, beautiful live music and EXCEPTIONAL service - this is the place. 5 stars!!

I'd booked Stefs on Berners Street back in August for good friends 40th & 50th birthday celebrations this weekend mainly because it was right under the apartment we were staying.

We celebrated our birthday today at Piazza Italiana in London – together with my twin brother and five other friends – and it was simply fantastic! 🥳 From start to finish, everything was top-notch: The food was delicious, the ambiance beautiful, and the service absolutely outstanding. A special thank you goes to Marco, who made the evening truly special with his warm personality and attentive service. He took great care of us and definitely deserves 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We even received a small gift as a surprise – a truly lovely gesture that rounded off the evening. We'll definitely be back!
